$105 billion appropriated for Health Care.....and who knew?

Maybe this is why Pelosi wanted the bill passed before people were aware what was in it?  REMEMBER?

Thanks, Mustang........it should be an American media which exposes this but we must rely on Conservative friends and bloggers, don't we.

Congress didn't know because Congress didn't read the damn bill.

Pass it NOW... Pass IT now...

Sound familiar? Another $450b boondoggle is heading for the Washington pipeline.

AOW, sure, but Pelosi was clearly against them reading it and the hurry was such that 2000 pgs weren't so easy to get through!

SF...that's the 'change' they'd 'hoped' for, huh?

Speedy...I'm not sure there's ever been quite the quickness in passing anything .......they're hell bent on destroying as much as they can in case THE ONE actually does lose (which I doubt)

And this president STILL thinks that "those who are FORTUNATE" need to pay more: See, the FORTUNATE word makes it look like they were just LUCKIER, not that they studied harder, worked harder, saved harder, to GET "MORE FORTUNATE".. much easier to steal from someone more fortunate than more hardworking, deserving........

Duh, no one said the bill would not cost anything initially but the CBO said it will save trillions over time.

Bachmann is FOS. Yes, pass this crap on more scary lies to the uninformed to get angry about and vote themselves into their own graves.

Z said...

Bd, please link who knew about it, okay? If CONGRESS doesn't, there's a problem, okay? I believe you heard Pelosi on that subject. WHat kind of senator says "We have to pass it and then you'll find out what's in it"? That okay with YOU, as long as it's Pelosi and not a Republican? You'd be outraged, but WE can't be, according to you.
CBO's gone back and forth on this, trust me. do your homework.

This bill is bad, it was written too quickly to have been initiated from the Obama bunch, by the way, so who DID write it?

And, many experts think this will not create jobs....nobody I know (including highly liberal big Obama fan doctors I know who are scared to death of it and can't quite understand how this happened......see how liberals don't learn and THEN vote?) WANTS this plan to go into effect, anyway.

President BO, the Democrat Congress and Bd are bald-faced liars.

I know! Let's pass all future legislation before we are allowed to read it to find out what's in it!

Let's pass a bill to defund Obama Care, one to defund Planned Parenthood, one to defund the Department of Education, one to defund the Department of Labor and one to defund Congress. And let's pass them before we read them.

OK with you, Bd?

Uneducated idiot.

Speedy G said...

but the CBO said it will save trillions over time.

If the CBO didn't include the $105b in their tally... the claim that Obamacare would "save trillions" is most CERTAINLY suspect, if not just plain downright FALSE. In fact, the claim doesn't even pass the "Laugh Test."

For the 1st time in recent history, A NY Times Reporter actually LISTENNED to one of Sarah Palin's speeches and wrote an article covering it w/o adding comments relative to her "obvious evil intentions" upon his readers.

Read that here... it's kind of refreshing.

Z said...

speedy, I hate the NY Times and hesitate to sign up for that reason, but would love to read the article :-(

Here's an excerpt (or go to Drudge and find the link)

“This is not the capitalism of free men and free markets, of innovation and hard work and ethics, of sacrifice and of risk,” she said of the crony variety. She added: “It’s the collusion of big government and big business and big finance to the detriment of all the rest — to the little guys. It’s a slap in the face to our small business owners — the true entrepreneurs, the job creators accounting for 70 percent of the jobs in America.”

Is there a hint of a political breakthrough hiding in there?

The political conversation in the United States is paralyzed by a simplistic division of labor. Democrats protect that portion of human flourishing that is threatened by big money and enhanced by government action. Republicans protect that portion of human flourishing that is threatened by big government and enhanced by the free market.

What is seldom said is that human flourishing is a complex and delicate thing, and that we needn’t choose whether government or the market jeopardizes it more, because both can threaten it at the same time.

Ms. Palin may be hinting at a new political alignment that would pit a vigorous localism against a kind of national-global institutionalism.

On one side would be those Americans who believe in the power of vast, well-developed institutions like Goldman Sachs, the Teamsters Union, General Electric, Google and the U.S. Department of Education to make the world better. On the other side would be people who believe that power, whether public or private, becomes corrupt and unresponsive the more remote and more anonymous it becomes; they would press to live in self-contained, self-governing enclaves that bear the burden of their own prosperity.

THanks, Speedy...I'll check Drudge later on; have to go now.
I will say I get nervous when big business is slammed; it hires an AWFUL lot of Americans, whether it's perfect or not.
I think one of the things which mostly strongly divides the Left and Right is that the Right understands humans, wants THEM to flourish (not the gov't) and realizes that nothing is ever going to be perfect, because of our humanity.
You can't make a law each time people don't respond like some want them to.

I guess I'm just a "Swiftian" who doesn't like granting deathless immortals (Struldbrugs/corporations) the same legal rights as mere mortals in a competition.

Who wrote the HealthNOcare Bill?

I wrote about it August 18,2009.

http://afticker.blogspot.com/2009/08/will-real-author-of-health-care-fiasco.html

The individual named and Tom Daschle were the authors of the so called Health Bill.

Tick, I"ll see it this afternoon...I have my own ideas about who wrote it.

Speedy...if mere mortals' companies are as ready for a huge project as a corporation is, there is no incongruity with the bid package: Let the best man win. Normally, large corporations are in a better place to take the competition. (Which is why when libs whined about Halliburton, anybody who understood how long bidding and getting boots in the ground for a company with no boots yet there is, understands how important it was to get Halliburton involved when and where they did)

I'll be back later.

Speedy...if mere mortals' companies are as ready for a huge project as a corporation is, there is no incongruity with the bid package: Let the best man win.

Are you familiar with the differences between "privately" (Bechtel) and "publically" (Raytheon) held corporations? Why should ANYONE be forced to compete with either type? And why should "immortals" be preferred over mere mortals? Shouldn't THEY have to deal with real-world problems just like anyone else?

Back in ye olde days, "corporations" were "limited" to the types of business that they could compete in by their CHARTERS. THAT is no longer the case. Grandma's hardware store NOW has to go head to head with Walmart. THAT is what's "wrong" with America.

Speedy G said...

...and charters are merely legal vehicles for conferring "privledges" upon a select few. This is America. Why carry on this archaic form of "monarchical favouritism"?

Speaking of funding... does anybody here believe that Obama's Senate is going to try and pass a Budget this year??? As Jeff Session's says, "A speech is hardly an adequate substitute for a Budget!"

I don't.

Why pass a Congressional Budget when you can spend another year recklessly spending whatever you want on whaterever you like?

Michele Bachmann brought this to light months ago. So my question is, since the House knows about it, why have they done nothing about it?

Republicans are in the majority in the House, yet Bachmann is the only one who has spoken up about it. Why is that? If I sound distrustful it's because I am.

I applaud Bachmann for her effort. Unfortunately she is not included in the House leadership, and is but one member of the House.

Btw, Gingrich is right. He advises House Republicans to keep passing their bills and let the focus be on the do nothing Senate and Obama in refusing to pass them, and if they do, Obama in vetoing them.

It's called being on offense, something Republicans seem to be unable to muster up the spine to do.

Nothing has been cut. Spending cuts are slated to be accomplished over ten year periods, which really means, cuts in the increases. Meaningless!!

Furthermore, future congresses cannot be held to promises made today.

Say what you will about Palin and Bachmann, they're not afraid to take on the establishment, whether it's the Dems, or the GOP, and that's what we need in the White House and the Congress.

Forget compromise.
We're talking about oppression, or freedom. There is no compromise possible regarding two diametrically opposed ideologies.

I choose freedom.

Really? Then why did Pelosi say pass it and then we can find out what's in it.

You gotta be totally brain dead cause even stupid is smarter than you are.

Bd said...

Man, the right just loves to dredge up old edited clips to prey on the less intelligent among them.

What she says exactly is "we have to pass the bill so that YOU can find out what's in it." Immediately after, cut off in this clip, she said "away from all the fog of controversy."

I'm sure this isn't the smartest thing Pelosi ever said, and I wouldn't be surprised if she regrets it. But it's not that bad. She's not saying SHE doesn't know what's in the bill. And it's true that in the midst of controversy, it is harder for a layman to evaluate something.

The Bill was posted weeks before passage.

Nice try.

Funny how the comments for this YouTube video has been disabled and it's 7 months old.

You didn't know HCR would have initial costs?

You didn't hear the CBO say HCR will save trillions over time.

What? You'd rather allow some family members die due to denial of treatment under the old way?

And lest we forget, Bachmann is a lira and an idiot.

You've all been pwned by her again, ding dons.

Z said...

Bd, talk about a "lire"..
My GOD, where DO you get your crap.
And, who cares how old videos are? Wouldn't YOU have thought your CNN and MSNBC would have learned what we know today by NOW?

Speedy: you said "THAT is no longer the case. Grandma's hardware store NOW has to go head to head with Walmart. THAT is what's "wrong" with America."

What can we do, hold a pistol to someone's head who wants it cheaper? I simply don't see how all that works...sorry.
There is NOBODY who's more for Grandma's hardware store and less for Raytheon (Mr. Z won such an ENORMOUS project over them even you'd be surprised if I told you what it was, by the way :-) Raytheon's VERY underhanded

Bd, by the way, you NEVER HEARD even Dem senators and congressmen saying they hadn't been given time to read the bill?

An appeal for "Sainthood for Nancy Pelosi" for the likes of freaks like "BD" and his brain damaged psychopaths:

"Last Saturday afternoon, in Washington, D.C., an aide to Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi visited the Bishop of the Catholic cathedral in D.C.

He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day's Mass, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.

The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of Pelosi's views." Pelosi's aide then said, "Look, I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to your church if you'll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint."

The Cardinal thought about it and said, "Well, the church can use the money, so I'll work your request into tomorrow's sermon."

As Pelosi's aide promised, Pelosi appeared for the Sunday worship and seated herself prominently at the forward left side of the center aisle. As promised, at the start of his sermon, the Cardinal pointed out that Pelosi was present.

The Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, "While congress woman Pelosi's presence is probably an honor to some, the woman is not numbered among my favorite personages. Some of her views are contrary to tenets of the Church, and she tends to flip-flop on many other issues.

Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb sucker, and a nit-wit. Nancy Pelosi is also a serial liar, a cheat, and a thief.

I must say, Nancy Pelosi is the worst example of a Catholic I have ever personally witnessed.

She married for money and is using her wealth to lie to the American people. She also has a reputation for shirking her Representative obligations both in Washington, and in California.

The woman is simply not to be trusted."The Cardinal concluded, "But, when compared with Barack Obama, Pelosi is a saint."

Don't ya just love the truth?
