Most of us have time to scan a blog post and leave a comment but few of us have time to watch videos, I know......But...PLEASE WATCH THIS ONE, anyway. And PLEASE, PLEASE send it to your friends, right and left. Everyone needs to at least take notice; at least pay attention; at least let this sink in...compare Communism's plans for our country years ago, and their methodology, to where we are today. You'll be AMAZED:
I'm really tired of people dismissing those who are speaking out....I don't care how afraid or agenda-driven leftwingers are (and I admit the right is, too)...it's not right to let things like this information go by; everyone will be sorry for it. What can we DO when we're shown this kind of information? I'm not sure, but we need to start at least talking about it. Why is it that the Right wing is fighting so much harder against Socialism, Communism, etc, than the Left? Odd, isn't it?
geeeeeeeeeeeeeeZ (thanks, Elbro)

Very sobering.
Video stolen and posted at my site.
The Frankfurt school is alive and well.
Unfortunately.
As in all evil enterprises, the vast majority of foot soldiers don't even realized they've been dragooned into a nefarious project.
Thanks to 100 years of indoctrination and constant propaganda that has leached into our culture, I do believe that most people working at the ground level towards these horrible goals naively believe they are doing good.
God help us...
That can be said for Libertarians or any true believers, Silverfiddle.
Take the pop culture and take the nation.
Long live Gramsci and Lukacs.
It’s interesting, to this day, how Joe McCarthy is still vilified, eh?
Cleon Skausen --- Glenn Beck's avatar.
Man, this guy is the far right version of Lyndon LaRouche.
Absolutely insane.
Why is it that the Right wing is fighting so much harder against Socialism, Communism, etc, than the Left?
Because the right-wing has chosen to pick up the left's cast-offs and dead weight (i.e. the extreme national socialists of the Tea Party) to pad its numbers rather than have an ideological battle with the left-wing.
The left got rid of these racist national socialist parasites to make themselves look better. The right doesn't need them.
The Tea Party "movement" is doing more to re-elect Obama than Obama himself is doing.
Ducky, you can minimize, insult, try to cast doubt, discredit, etc.
It won't work. We have watched all of this take place, in our lifetimes.
When some of us would speak up, and warn others that much of this was organized, and we should "nip it in the bud", we were dismissed as paranoid, and laughed at.
Well now, there's not so much laughing, or dismissiveness. Now, you and yours are out of the closet. You are either a liar, or absolutely ignorant.
Either way, what you say here means nothing. Most here know the truth. And that is, everything which was planned by the far left, has been done and is ongoing.
You may as well take a hike Ducky, nothing you say is taken seriously. Sometimes you're good for comic relief, but we won't miss it.
Poor beamish,
There are Commie luvin' National Socialists under his bed drinking his tea!
How dare those "national socialist" demand a return on hundreds of thousands of dollars already extorted from them by the government! They should just give up all hope of recovering any of those hundreds of thousands of dollars they've individually been forced to contribute, and embrace an "ideologically purist sense" of "conservative" self-reliance! They'll feel so much better that way, knowing that even though grandma's been kicked out her nursing home and is now dying in the gutter, they can now bask in a "purists" clean conscience and sense of what is means to be a REAL "conservative".
Hey beamish, send me my $250K in T-Bills and I might give a sh*t what you think. But until then, go 'F yourself!
A true eye-opener. Thanks for this video. I may have to "borrow" it for mine, although, I have one on my own at the moment.
Thanks, Z!
Paranoid wingnuttery, lol!
Even if 'they' watch this, and hear the truth of what has happened, they will refuse to believe it...while the instigators, and perpetrators who have done, and are doing whatever it takes to achieve their ultimate agenda, are laughing at their stupidity, and gullibility.
By 'they' I am referring to the poor, unenlightened individuals who have fallen for the lies of the Progressives, the ones believing the lies about 'hope and change,' and all the other nonsense espoused by the present administration.
If they only knew what lies ahead for them, for all of us, if the ultimate goal is finally achieved.
It won't be a pretty sight, for sure.
Thanks, Z...I'm seriously thinking of starting my blog again, so that I can, at least, say that I tried.
Joe "Conservative,"
I'm not seeking conservative purity. Just some conservatism at all will do. Something that makes the case for Barack Obama being the most conservative candidate of all the lefties running in 2012 a little harder to make.
Do I see conservatives in the Tea Party "movement?"
No, there's just people rallying around a cross-eyed Carter / Mondale supporter who believes claiming to be the leader of the failed fights against stimulus spending, Obamacare, and the debt ceiling and screeching "Obama is a one-term President" is an adequate substitute for her lack of a conservative record of achievement. Cynically gaming the tax code and welfare system to turn her home into a for-profit foster care mill and writing effusive letters of praise to the Department of Agriculture Secretary to thank him for (mis)spending the stimulus on "price stabilization" are but two notable examples of how far away Michelle Bachmann is from being a conservative.
Then there's the other candidates on the Democratic Party's KKK wing / Tea Party wish list:
Keeping the leftward-most of them in line is Ron Paul, with his bizarre theory that America was attacked on 9/11 by Shia Muslim hating al Qaeda terrorists because America helped install the Israel-friendly Shah of Iran back in the 1950s.
Let's not forget the Tea Party "movement's" heir to Hillary Clinton's abandoned efforts to make a Kenyan out of the American-born Obama and all the support given to serial bankrupt swindler Donald Trump.
*IF* the Tea Party "movement" is in fact conservative, why are they so afraid of demonstrating it to an attentive audience?
Scotty, McCarthy's best written about by Ann Coulter; please check it out if you can.
And yes, still vilified....and so are the Birchers; who had some really awful parts of their organization (I have a friend whose parents who joined because of the anti communism part but slipped out when racism reared its head, and they weren't the only ones and it's why the group's probably 100% gone by now) but also were very aware and trying to warn about Communists.
I'm getting the exact responses I knew this video'd get from the lefties: They just can't allow themselves to understand or they actually are encouraging socialism in this country; so big surprise when they try to set up walls toward understand the video's facts.
I think all good Americans need to be watching and not allowing the leftwingers to keep up the lies and misinformation and scare-mongering.
Beamish, I'm letting you stay because you've been a friend. Keep it up if you must but you're sounding like a nut and I'm tired of not telling you so.
...says the man with no model and no plan and who needs to be "spoon fed" an unacceptable candidate, because he can't promote a SINGLE ONE himself.
I don't think your campaign slogan, "Put a pillow over grandma's face," is going to resonate. I could be wrong though. Maybe the Kakistocratic Party will catch fire... but I doubt it.
"...Your efforts to stabilize prices through direct government purchasing of pork and dairy products are very much welcomed by the producers in Minnesota, and I would encourage you to take any additional steps necessary to prevent further deterioration of these critical industries, such as making additional commodity purchases and working to expand trade outlets for these and other agricultural goods..."
Who wrote that glowing praise of AgSec Tom Vilsack and applied Keynesian economics and government intervention into markets?
The "arch-conservative" ::cough cough:: Comrade Michelle Bachmann.
You can't drop napalm on a Tea Party gathering and expect to even singe a conservative.
Z,
Beamish, I'm letting you stay because you've been a friend. Keep it up if you must but you're sounding like a nut and I'm tired of not telling you so.
Oddly enough, right before you said that, you said "I'm getting the exact responses I knew this video'd get from the lefties: They just can't allow themselves to understand or they actually are encouraging socialism in this country; so big surprise when they try to set up walls toward understand the video's facts."
There are those of us that understand that there's a hell of a lot more to socialism and socialist agendas than the government dictating what can be said and done in the schools it runs.
Just ask your resident commie Joe "Conservative" about how the government keeps his grandmother out of the gutter.
I just watched the first few minutes of this again(I hope it's not halting for the rest of you, starting/stopping) and I can't BELIEVE people can ignore this information.
It's SO clear that what was planned years ago is coming to fruition.
Ducky, I'm too tired to put up with all of your nasty comments, so they're gone: But, do tell...what did this video have about gays in America? ANd how do you show that we all hate them? :-)
If the video starts/stops for you, too, please click HERE at YOUTUBE
Hopefully, you can watch it better there. thanks..it's worth it.
...says the man with no model and no plan and who needs to be "spoon fed" an unacceptable candidate, because he can't promote a SINGLE ONE himself.
If I were running for President, it could finally be honestly said that a conservative was running.
I'm content to laugh and spit in the faces of the left-wing Tea Party "movement" - to hell with all those left-wing imbeciles. I'd cut them some slack if there was at least something conservative about them, but there's not.
You know, I know, everyone knows the Tea Party "movement" is merely disgruntled Democrats pissed off that a black man won their party's nomination. NONE OF THEM are out to roll back any New Deal / Great Society monstrosities. They're looking for a white-skinned Obama.
I'm looking for a conservative. None are running, hence none of those running will get my support.
ugh, it's bad there, too.
Tampering? I don't know. bummer
I don't think your campaign slogan, "Put a pillow over grandma's face," is going to resonate. I could be wrong though. Maybe the Kakistocratic Party will catch fire... but I doubt it.
My 2012 campaign slogan is slightly different than my 2008 slogan. "Vote for me or go #*@% yourself" has changed to "Tired of @#$@-ing yourself yet?"
Put a pillow over grandma's face? No, put a pillow over government's face.
No, put a pillow over government's face.
We are the government, beamish. And no, it's not a murder/suicide pact. That would be the national socialism in YOUR political platform on your personal Krystalnacht/Night of the Long Knives.
Nietzsche, HATH 524
Contempt for people. The least ambiguous sign of a disdain for people is this: that one tolerates everyone else only as a means to his end, or not at all.
"If I were running for President, it could finally be honestly said that a conservative was running."
beamish, if you were running, you'd just be another run of the mill narcissist who thinks he's the ONE.
We already have one of those in the WH.
Furthermore you'd use that medical rationing board to let old people die. Your obsession with your bitter never relenting hatred of the elderly stands out like a sore thumb.
You think you're a conservative? No, you're a hater! Do you know why? Because you think you're above it all, when you really are rolling around in the mud.
Have a nice day little man, and don't break your arm patting yourself on the back!
hey beamish:
Mind if I use your 2008 campaign slogan when I run for president in 2012
You know -
Vote for me or go #*@% yourself?
Scotty, McCarthy's best written about by Ann Coulter; please check it out if you can.
I have, Z, but thanks for the heads up. M.Stanton Evans wrote about it too.....good book!
We are the government, beamish.
We used to be.
And no, it's not a murder/suicide pact. That would be the national socialism in YOUR political platform on your personal Krystalnacht/Night of the Long Knives.
Bullshit. There is no socialism of any strain in my political beliefs.
Speaking of Nazis, could you Tea Partiers please elaborate on which of the items in Hitler's Nazi Party Platform you and your fellow leftists disagree with?
You all seem so awful fond of government solutions for everything. You know Ayatollah Khomenei even wrote a chapter on how to wipe your ass. Why stop at adopting Hitler's social security program?
Sue,
Mind if I use your 2008 campaign slogan when I run for president in 2012
Sure. Unless you can think of something more succinct.
I wish everyone old enough to run for President would do so. Could be that the best person for the job would win on a plurality.
beamish:
How's this - #*@% it, vote for me.
I'm 66, is that old enough?
I'm 66, is that old enough?
Plenty. But how do you feel about the deployment of a network of orbital neutron bomb launchers?
Yeah.
I say nuke 'em from orbit.
That's the only way to be sure.
For those who might not realize it, that's a quote from the movie
Aliens.
Very interesting. I posted the video on my website so I could link to it on Facebook.
Very interesting. I posted the video on my website so I could link to it on Facebook.
Bullshit. There is no socialism of any strain in my political beliefs.
Then why advocate ANY government at all? Why run for "president"? Government is by definition, a form of "socialism".
Best rip up the Constitution, beamish, is a "socialist plot!" Any laws or decree's spoken, written, enforced or obeyed is pure socialism.
If you weren't a hypocrite, beamish, you'd never gesture, speak or write another word... because it all just so much "pure socialism."
Demonstrate for us now, beamish, that you're NOT a hypocrite.
Nietzsche, HATH 524
Contempt for people. The least ambiguous sign of a disdain for people is this: that one tolerates everyone else only as a means to his end, or not at all.
That's YOUR brand of socialism, beamish. An infant's cry's are either "demands" for service or calls for "justice"...
Grow the 'f up.
@ Speedy
If (you) weren't a hypocrite ... you'd never gesture, speak or write another word... because it all just so much "pure socialism."
...bravo!
Socialism isn't "inherently" bad. It just need LIMITS. We are BOTH individuals and members of a group/society. Finding the right balance between their "competing interests" and determining the amount of "compulsion/force" is necessary via government enforcement... THAT is the challenge.
"NOTHING" to excess. Compulsory socialized medicine for all is almost CERTAINLY an "unnecessary" excess. After all, there are plenty of people who are competent and can take care of their medical needs themselves.
But one can't be a "purist" and say "No socialism, EVER!" Nothing TO EXCESS. Ecclesiastes 3.
...just as one shouldn't be a purist and say, compulsory education for EVERYONE.
Purism is virgin worship. Be it vis a vis the environment, medicine, or just about anything. Ultimately, it's a form of nihilism, of self and reality "negation".
It's a vision through one-eye only. Like the now extinct, "cyclops" of ancient times. It's a form of perception w/o "depth".
So beamish, pick up a thyrsus and join the revel rout. Don't stay in Cadmus' town till the walls and roofs collapse. Dionysus has come to Thebes to live. Opposition to his worship by King Pentheus will be dealt with, accordingly (sparagmos).
There more to life than waiting for ice cream trucks (which apparently you believe the tea-party is supposed to operate).
Cat got your tongue, beamish?
CS, the answer is simple. Jesus spoke clearly that there would come a time when "many would be deceived". There would be those who come in His name but of course wouold not be one of His but from the "Great Deceiver".
This has been occuring for many years. Christians or so called Christians have no discernment and are deceived. They are led by voices that speak a semblance of truth but not the truth, and they are deceived. They chase after any and all NEW forms of Christianity or Religiousity as I call them.
We were warned but few have listened.
Luke 21:8-9
And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.”
I stand with Beamish. I promise that
I will have nothing to do with the Tea Party until the Ron Paul group is tossed.
Ron Paul is a disgrace to the GOP.
If your looking for disgraces to the GOP, Ron Paul certainly is NOT the epitome. Lisa Murkowski, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Mitt Romney... the list goes on and ON. There are plenty of RINOs politicians within the RNC grazing on the conservative dole. THAT has GOT to change.
The only possbly WORSE than Obamacare would be RINOCare... universal health care actually ENDORSED and DEFENDED by the RNC.
Therestises
I tend to vote for the GOP. However, the looney Paul needs to go. Mark Levin would agree with you about the named RINOS but Paul is toxic.
Paul's involvement in the Tea Party and his associations with very unsavory types is too odious to ignore.
I can live with Romney, but at present am with Perry.
I'd rather have a loony "Paul" than a sellout RINO any day of the week.
Beak "Paul's involvement in the Tea Party"
Do you know I know NO ONE who's pro Tea Party, or IN it, for that matter, who's a Ron Paul advocate. What you should know is he buses in his supporters in DROVES......they're not a majority BY FAR and most people look upon him as a guy with a few good ideas but, mostly, a TOTAL NUT.
Why even discuss him? There is NO WAY IN HELL he'll get the nod. NO WAY...not if the GOP has a thing to do with it.
I think he's the one guy Marco Rubio'd say NO to for the VP nod, by the way!
Z
Paul is a complete embarrassment to the GOP. I can sit and respect differences with people who are on my left and right with respect.
Paul has no good ideas and needs to go. When you see a Paul supporter they sound like Ducky. If it sounds like the Duck it needs to leave the GOP. Let the other party have the 9-11 Truthers and Joooo haters.
I registered in the GOP because the Democrats allowed entryism of people who didn't belong and were soft on Communism. I fought the good fight in the Contra war years. I battled Commies in the street at the NYC GOP convention.
I will fight the Paulites who foul the GOP with their presence. I will need the jaw bone of an ass before I clean house. Hmm I wonder
if the jaw bone of a Marxist duck will do.
Beak, you have reason to believe Paul is an Anti Semite? This, I've never seen/heard...tell me.
And, I'm hearing his son's more appealing, ...would you go for HIM?
Trust me, NOBODY who thinks like Ducky, is a Tea Party member! No Tea Party member walks around avowing Socialism (no matter how Beamish want's to portray it, he's wrong).............
Z
Paul has accepted money from 9-11 Truthers and Don Black.
On foreign policy he has called for the end of all aid to Israel and has made a series of comments on Gaza that seem like they came from the Duck. His son has been very careful to point out his differences with his fathers positions there.
He also blames American foreign policy for 9-11 ala Ducky.
Then why advocate ANY government at all? Why run for "president"? Government is by definition, a form of "socialism".
Really? I think you've got your dictionary upside down. Socialism is, by definition, a form of government, not the other way around. There are non-socialist forms of government.
Best rip up the Constitution, beamish, is a "socialist plot!" Any laws or decree's spoken, written, enforced or obeyed is pure socialism.
You're letting your left-wing tendency towards irrationality get the best of you.
The only "socialism" by your stretched threadbare "definition" to be found in the Constitution amounts to funding the military for national defense.
You do know the difference between providing the general welfare and merely promoting it, don't you?
There's nothing wrong with the Constitution, except perhaps your bizarre interpretation of it.
If you weren't a hypocrite, beamish, you'd never gesture, speak or write another word... because it all just so much "pure socialism."
If you weren't actively imitating an imbecile, you'd have not said the above.
Demonstrate for us now, beamish, that you're NOT a hypocrite.
I start my day with a chainsaw and a truck, and end it with a truckload of wood to mulch or sell as firewood.
I cut down people's limbs and trees for money. I haul away what I cut for money. I split and mulch what I cut for money. I sell split firewood and mulch for money.
I turn $100 worth of gas into $1000 paydays on a regular basis, almost every day. I have a log pile just chock full of warm winters and steak dinners.
Seems a lot easier than just hoping the government will take care of me.
Z,
You know most of my reasons for disliking Ron Paul. Beak has touched on a few of them.
I'll just leave you with this...
Imagine in 1988, Ron Paul's candidacy for President from the Libertarian Party was successful and Paul got in the White House as Reagan was leaving.
We'd have went from "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall..." to "We shouldn't meddle with the Soviet Union's affairs and what they want to do with their wall."
I don't want anything from you but for you to eat your $14 Trillion debt, lefty. You're the problem, not the solution. All your life planning for someone else to pay the bill.
I'm someone else, telling you to shove your bill up your ass. FDR promised you a happy retirement, I didn't. Go knock on his tomb.
Grow the 'f up.
Says the one whose life is bookended in diapers and crying for someone to take care of you.
Guess you should have tried to "reform" the system before it made you a victim of its whims, huh geezer?
And, I'm hearing his son's more appealing, ...would you go for HIM?
Trust me, NOBODY who thinks like Ducky, is a Tea Party member! No Tea Party member walks around avowing Socialism (no matter how Beamish want's to portray it, he's wrong).............
The Tea Party "movement" - the disgruntled KKK wing of the Democratic Party - took off when Obama pilfered $500 Billion out of Medicare.
Obama deserved praise for mortally wounding that leviathan of waste (he should have eliminated the entirety of Medicare) but then he put that money towards his Obamacare boondoggle - to seize one-sixth of the economy under government control to insure less than 10% of the population, most of whom are either already covered by Medicaid or could have insurance but choose not to pay from their own pockets to avail themselves of it.
It was the cut to Medicare that got the Tea Party "movement" brewing. Subsequently, the Tea Party has gone on record to advocate for higher taxation on "the rich" and voice opposition to cuts in Social Security and other "entitlement" programs.
The Tea Party "movement" calls for budget cuts to come from defense, for preservation of the status quo on entitlement spending, higher taxation on small business owners and employers, and withdrawal from the world stage as the champion of freedom and democracy.
They're backing Michelle Bachmann because Jimmy Carter isn't running.
You forgot to mention Scott Brown.
D'oh!
The Tea Party All Stars (collect them all!!):
Michelle Bachmann - former Carter / Mondale campaign worker, blue state tax attorney, cynically enriched herself on the public dole as a welfare "foster mom." Recently (2009) endorsed Obama's doubling down on Keynesian stimulus fantasies.
Herman Cain - believes an individual's right to freedom of religion and expression can be lawfully negated by a city council meeting or mob.
Donald Trump - serially bankrupt limosuine liberal. Advocates a 14.25% "net worth tax" to directly seize property from people to pay off the national debt. Strong advocate of the Supreme Court's disastrous Kelo decision to allow eminent domain property seizures without compensation.
Ron Paul - Neo-fascist race baiter and ardent anti-Semite, champions Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons, blames US foreign policy for the rise of Islamic terrorism, advocates lengthening recessionary economic cycles by returning to the gold standard, believes the 10th Amendment licenses states to make war on each other.
*IF* the Tea Party "movement" were conservative, at all, how did these twits rise to the top of it?
There are non-socialist forms of government.
Oh, you mean like communism? That's just socialism w/o ANY limits.
from Wikipedia As a form of social organization, socialism is based on co-operative social relations and self-management; relatively equal power-relations and the reduction or elimination of hierarchy in the management of economic and political affairs.
There are also many non-governmental forms of socialism, beamish. Are they all "bad" unless money is the primary mediating medium?
or sell...for money....for money.
So whoring yourself and pimping others in the name of socialism is okay??? Whodathunkit. We just can't give it away for free. That would be "bad".
I never suspected you were such a devotee of Plutus, beamish.
All your life planning for someone else to pay the bill You mean all my life PAYING the bill until the day comes that I finally get to collect, and a little self-centred prick decides he's rather put a pillow over my face than pay his share or at least make a few long range plans to change the system (like the Tea Party members are trying to do).
Says the one whose life is bookended in diapers and crying for someone to take care of you.
Guess you should have tried to "reform" the system before it made you a victim of its whims, huh geezer?
I am. You're the prick with the plan to "off grandma." I'd be fine w/o Social Security. But I'll be damned if you'll pull the rug out from under all those who "wouldn't be fine" w/o Social Security on the pretext that they didn't pay their "fair share" when there are trillions in government IOU's and T-Bills sitting in the Treasury with their names on them.
So pay up deadbeat. That road between forests and logpiles was built on your credit card to ME. So pay-up deadbeat!
It was the cut to Medicare that got the Tea Party "movement" brewing.
lol! Talk about cherry-picking the facts to suit your argument.
the Tea Party has gone on record to advocate for higher taxation on "the rich" and voice opposition to cuts in Social Security and other "entitlement" programs.
Yeah, THAT's why they back the Ryan Medicare Reforms...
and withdrawal from the world stage as the champion of freedom and democracy.
Chasing mullah's through the mountains of Afghanistan has gotten us what? There are easier ways of winning wars than flying Predator Drones and shooting million dollar missiles at mud-huts.
We don't need to be actors on a world stage. We plan on being doers in the real world. Big difference.
You forgot to mention Scott Brown.
...and you forgot to mention ANYBODY who advocates the "do NOTHING but whine a lot" Kakistocratic Party platform.
Personally, I'm PROUD of Scott Brown. I'm PROUD of Ron Paul. I'm PROUD of Michelle Bachmann. I'm PROUD of Alan West.
The Tea party represents a diverse community of patriotic Americans who CARE about the future of their country enough to actually try and DO something to change it for the better. Some may be a bit misguided, but I suspect that the American PEOPLE are smart enough to figure out which ones THOSE are and voice their opinions at the ballot box.
Unlike the whiner Kakistocrat Obama enablers who advocate doing nothing but whine about how "put out" they are by the rest of the country's citizens that are actually trying to DO something.
Who are you going to vote FOR this year beamish? Oh, that's right, NO one. You don't even have a candidate running... and the Tea Party has how many???? lol!
I don't want anything from you but for you to eat your $14 Trillion debt, lefty.
You're just a deadbeat beamish. A deadbeat who can't pay his bills.
THAT's "beamish's" America. Renter Americans who refuse to pay their bills and hate their landlords.
Says the one whose life is bookended in diapers and crying for someone to take care of you.
lol! I take it that YOU are planning upon dying young... because if not, THAT is going to be YOUR reality, too. It's the life-cycle of man, the riddle of the sphinx. You can either plan for it, or ignore it. It's evident that YOU prefer to be one of the latter types, a parricide who prefers grabbing a pillow and killing his grandma to make arrangement for taking care of her in her dotage.
For those who think that EVERY elected member of government must pass an ideological litmus tests, I commend the following perspective...
Plato, "Statesman"
STRANGER: The quiet orderly class seek for natures like their own, and as far as they can they marry and give in marriage exclusively in this class, and the courageous do the same; they seek natures like their own, whereas they should both do precisely the opposite.
YOUNG SOCRATES: How and why is that?
STRANGER: Because courage, when untempered by the gentler nature during many generations, may at first bloom and strengthen, but at last bursts forth into downright madness.
YOUNG SOCRATES: Like enough.
STRANGER: And then, again, the soul which is over-full of modesty and has no element of courage in many successive generations, is apt to grow too indolent, and at last to become utterly paralyzed and useless.
YOUNG SOCRATES: That, again, is quite likely.
STRANGER: It was of these bonds I said that there would be no difficulty in creating them, if only both classes originally held the same opinion about the honourable and good;—indeed, in this single work, the whole process of royal weaving is comprised—never to allow temperate natures to be separated from the brave, but to weave them together, like the warp and the woof, by common sentiments and honours and reputation, and by the giving of pledges to one another; and out of them forming one smooth and even web, to entrust to them the offices of State.
YOUNG SOCRATES: How do you mean?
STRANGER: Where one officer only is needed, you must choose a ruler who has both these qualities —when many, you must mingle some of each, for the temperate ruler is very careful and just and safe, but is wanting in thoroughness and go.
YOUNG SOCRATES: Certainly, that is very true.
STRANGER: The character of the courageous, on the other hand, falls short of the former in justice and caution, but has the power of action in a remarkable degree, and where either of these two qualities is wanting, there cities cannot altogether prosper either in their public or private life.
YOUNG SOCRATES: Certainly they cannot.
STRANGER: This then we declare to be the completion of the web of political action, which is created by a direct intertexture of the brave and temperate natures, whenever the royal science has drawn the two minds into communion with one another by unanimity and friendship, and having perfected the noblest and best of all the webs which political life admits, and enfolding therein all other inhabitants of cities, whether slaves or freemen, binds them in one fabric and governs and presides over them, and, in so far as to be happy is vouchsafed to a city, in no particular fails to secure their happiness.
YOUNG SOCRATES: Your picture, Stranger, of the king and statesman, no less than of the Sophist, is quite perfect.
Far easier to slow boil the frog than to just hurl it into the boiling pot.
There are non-socialist forms of government.
Oh, you mean like communism? That's just socialism w/o ANY limits.
No, I mean like a mutually consented res publica in which the government is always subservient to the people both as a collective and as individuals. That's just representative democracy w/o any socialism. The government's powers are strictly confined to specific purposes. A nation of laws, not men.
You know, the only form of government for which the word "outlaw" has a legitimate meaning.
from Wikipedia As a form of social organization, socialism is based on co-operative social relations and self-management; relatively equal power-relations and the reduction or elimination of hierarchy in the management of economic and political affairs.
...in which the means of production (aka PEOPLE) become the property of a central planning authority. See also: slavery, indentured servitude
There are also many non-governmental forms of socialism, beamish. Are they all "bad" unless money is the primary mediating medium?
Any system which punishes success is a cultivator of failure.
or sell...for money....for money.
So whoring yourself and pimping others in the name of socialism is okay??? Whodathunkit. We just can't give it away for free. That would be "bad".
There was a time I felt a little disturbed that I could get paid up to five times off the same tree removal job (cutting it down - cha-ching, hauling it away - cha-ching, logging it for firewood - cha-ching, mulching the brush - cha-ching, heating my home - cha-ching) but the second helping of filet mignon made the feeling pass.
I'm not doing anything anyone else couldn't do themselves with their own trees on their property. I'm just there when they'd rather come off a few hundred bucks and sit on their ass and watch me cut and haul away their tree. Maybe with the tree gone, their property value will go up or their roof won't be damaged in the next storm costing them even more money. Everybody wins.
I never suspected you were such a devotee of Plutus, beamish.
Wealth seems to keep the bills paid. Since the Baby Boomers like to live on credit until the day of default, someone's got to be making money around here. Might as well be me.
Says the one whose life is bookended in diapers and crying for someone to take care of you.
lol! I take it that YOU are planning upon dying young... because if not, THAT is going to be YOUR reality, too.
I've been trying all my life to die young. I will, when I'm 120.
It's the life-cycle of man, the riddle of the sphinx. You can either plan for it, or ignore it. It's evident that YOU prefer to be one of the latter types, a parricide who prefers grabbing a pillow and killing his grandma to make arrangement for taking care of her in her dotage.
No, I'm just calling bullshit on the left-wing Tea Party notion that until FDR came along with Social Security, humans were incapable of caring for the elders in their own families.
Expand your horizons. Life is bigger than your government rationed existence.
