Sunday Faith Post

Happy Birthday, Christian church!

"Among Christians, Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Twelve Apostles and other followers of Jesus as described in the Acts of the Apostles 2:1–31.[2] For this reason, Pentecost is sometimes described by some Christians today as the "Birthday of the Church.""   ...wikipedia
The mystery of the "Holy Spirit" is probably one of the most exciting and validating things in the life of a Christian and requires a lot of study and a lot of something inside which helps one understand it.  That 'something inside' is the Holy Spirit.  I wish it for all of you.

Have a very happy Pentacost!

Studying the various meanings of the word SPIRIT might help us to understand the term HOLY SPIRIT a little better.

SPIRIT

The vital principle or animating force within living beings.

Incorporeal consciousness.

The soul, considered as departing from the body of a person at death.

A supernatural being, as:

A ghost, an angel or a demon.

A being inhabiting or embodying a particular place, object, or natural phenomenon.

A fairy or sprite.

The part of a human associated with the mind, will, and feelings:

Though unable to join us today, they are with us in spirit.

The essential nature of a person or group.

A person as characterized by a stated quality:

He is a proud spirit.

An inclination or tendency of a specified kind:

Her actions show a generous spirit.

A causative, activating, or essential principle:

The couple's engagement was announced in a joyous spirit.

A mood or an emotional state:

The guests were in high spirits. His sour spirits put a damper on the gathering.

A particular mood or an emotional state characterized by vigor, animation or deep understanding:

He sang with great spirit.

Strong loyalty or dedication: team spirit.

The predominant mood of an occasion or a period:

"The Spirit of 1776 is not dead" (Thomas Jefferson).

The actual though unstated sense or significance of something:

the spirit of the law.

An alcohol solution of an essential or volatile substance. Often used in the plural with a singular verb.

An alcoholic beverage, especially distilled liquor.

TRANSITIVE VERB:

spirited, spiriting, spirits

To impart courage, animation, or determination to; inspirit.

To carry off mysteriously or secretly:

The documents had been spirited away.

Which of the several meanings listed above might apply to the HOLY Spirit -- i.e. God?

FT,
The vital principle or animating force within living beings.

I'll change it to the following for the Holy Spirit:

The Godly animating force within the soul of a Believer; this Godly Force enables a Believer to lead the Christian life but does not eliminate free will.

I'm an inadequate theologian, but the above is my definition on too few cups of coffee.

Does anyone, besides, me believes that aggressive leftists are Demon-Possessed ,and have lost all contact with The Kingdom of God (Truth) that lies dormant within each one of us?

It does seem likely from the always accusatory, malicious, spiteful, militantly uncooperative tone of their outbursts and pernicious effects of their activities.

"Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God by which ye are sealed unto the day of Redemption.

"Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clmot and evil-speaking be put away from you with all malice.

"And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another , even as God, who for Christ's Sake, hath forgiven you."

Remember please that Our Lord Jesus Christ has the power to cleanse lepers and cast out demons.

FT: Ann Coulter does. DEMONIC is a book that describes that.
I think it is best to ignore these interruptions to the Sunday faith blog.

The Holy Spirit is more than a force or attitude, although the word spirit should be interpreted in those ways at times in Scripture.
The Holy Spirit is the presence of God in the life of a Christian, motivating, encouraging, and empowering him or her to live a life set apart for God.
He is also the means by which Christians are enabled to act as the Body of Christ, acting in concert to further Christ's goals.

Listen up and read this you Lefty Moon-Bat, you may learn something. But I doubt if you have the ability to learn anything, but I’ll try anyway, only because I have nothing else to do right now.. . First of all, the difference between a LIE AND BEING MISTAKEN; is “intent”. For instance Obama has lied about Benghazi and lied about his knowledge of the IRS targeting conservative groups. Yes, the terrorists were responsible for the Benghazi attacks. The administration is responsible to tell the truth to the American public and that was withheld for far too long.
I'd say Bush was mistaken; but too many who returned from Iraq "whispered" (to me; not 2nd hand or Fox news) that there had absolutely been WMD's (Assad just used some of his Iraq stockpile against his folks)... You don't remember the inspectors being expelled? It happened numerous times and that expulsion WAS the treaty violation
So he not only didn't lie; he wasn't even mistaken. But it doesn't matter; you sign a treaty; you leave under the treaty... Hussein didn't. By the way... if you believe Obama; sorry... you've been fooled by a liar again.
Now take a hike and stop interrupting this blog.

Always; you got it very well.
As you know, there's more to that... more subtle and gorgeous, but that's a very good definition.

FT...I (and I hope my blog partners) are deleting the person you've responded to. That name calling and being off topic doesn't fly here, particularly on Sunday.
Let's just feel sorry for it and go on. I write this here only so that people know you were responding to someone.

Z said...

And by the way, my dear friends; keep your holy attitudes here. That there are some that don't recognize it doesn't negate or demean it.
God bless, and have a fabulous Sunday!

I'll be back later.

Mustang, Elbro; please delete at will. Thanks!

I made a general statement about the spiritual condition of virulent leftists in general. It was wholly relevant to a discussion of any bearing the presence of the Holy Ghost -- or lack of it -- may have on human lives. I was not responding to anyone in particular, my dear. I rarely do. I'm one of those "If the shoe fits" ... kind of guys.

Misunderstanding permeates the blogosphere like an infestation of termites. Most of us, it seems, are forever on edge. A shame, because so often it derails honest attempts at serious discussion of important points. I guess it's part of the tragic readiness, willingness and super-capability so many to engage or indulge in hostile behavior at the drop of a hat. Too often it pervades the blogging community, and makes of it a poisoned well.

Yeah, FT. Then you were followed by a highly spiritual individual who offered (m)Ann Coulter in evidence.

And you wonder why your so called witness is rejected?

Ed Bonderenka said...

I was only answering FTs question, Duck.
I was not calling her as a witness.
I suspect the "highly spiritual" part was sarcasm.
I don't wonder why my witness is rejected, If you refer to my personal witness.
I once was a rejector.

Z said...

FT, I am SO SORRY but my response was to the leftist I deleted, NOT YOU! I'm very sorry it does look like quite the opposite. Very sorry it reads like that but it's not the case! xx

Ed, Ducky took the title of your book and extrapolated THAT? :-)

wow

Be back later....thanks for coming by, everybody!

Z,
Happy Birthday! This is the birth of the Christianity. Regardless of denomination we are all Christians.

Z said...

L&O, we sure are!
Thanks...and same to you.
A very important day that doesn't get exploited by secular America; a good thing :-)

FreeThinke said...

Not worry, Z. This medium does strange things to our perceptions. It always has, but seem more so these days.

It's so darned easy to be misunderstood.

Ed Bonderenka said...

FT: Just what are you implying there?
:)

Z:

Thanks for posting your faith blog. I just took a break, and read the second chapter of ACTS (again), and was blessed.

Thank you and may God bless everyone on the blog.
