This can't be true........say it ain't so!

THIS is one of the most infuriating stories EVER.   Please, lefties, tell us this is wrong....use any ridiculous subterfuge, I'd just be happy to believe you so I don't have to believe the apparent truth.
In a nutshell (but you really should read the link, it's not long),  Hasan, the Ft Hood murderer, has been paid a bundle by the government (that's us) (because he's not been proven guilty yet) and the wounded are fighting for any pay at all (because this gov't has called the shooting 'workplace violence').   Please read the link and weigh in.

This is tragic, unfair, disgusting, and WRONG.  Can this be rectified...prevented in the future?

It was ONLY a "Work Place" problem , why are you getting so upset?

Please, lefties, tell us this is wrong

It's not wrong. It's ourageous that he is still being paid. It isn't a lefty plot though. Since he is being court martialed and not tried in federal court, it's in the Uniorm Code of Military Justice that he be paid until convicted. If Hasan was a civilian Pentagon employee, his pay would have been suspended after 7 days of being indicted.

I have no idea why this has been designated 'workplace violence' and neither do you. We can speculate. It's PC run amok or the Army doing CYA. Whatever it is, it was "the generals on the ground" at Army HQ that came up with it.

A court martial can still determine whether or not it was a terrorist attack. It's a crime if the victims are not being given adequate compensation and medical care. Shame on Obama if can do something about and isn't.

Maybe Tom Coburn is demanding offsets before taking care of the victims.

A conviction will entail forfeiture of pay.
If not workplace violence, then terrorist attack.
Attack on a military installation implies war, especially given the "soldier of allah's" communications.
War is not an option.

Z - It seems wrong to me that he should be receiving his pay while the victims struggle.

Justice seems to take a long time to be served.

sue,

If it was just a 'workplace' incident should the "victims" be receiving Workers' Compensation?AGGHHH!

Craig, I wouldn't mention Coburn and offsets when America's waking up to the horrors of Obama care.
A large pizza chain I swore not to mention tells me, at the local place I use for school, that they're losing people after having a 90% rate of keeping the same people for years...because they simply had to lower their hours to 30 hours or couldn't afford the health care.
It's ruining businesses, raising premiums. Coburn should have been more consulted, he should not be slammed.
And I'm thinking maybe the Obama people could help the wounded warriors at Ft Hood? Might be a good start if they gave a damn.
And it's this gov't which has been frightened of calling this attack TERRORISM.... "workplace violence"..what a horrible copout.

Until Hassan is convicted, he is entitled to receive his active duty pay and allowances. The real question is, and should be … why was he offered a commission in the first place? Why didn’t the U. S. Army move against this cretin when they had sufficient indication that he was put together with Moslem screws, and that most of them were loose?

There are consequences to this country’s insane fondness for the politically correct, which I am convinced was the brain child of the Mohammedan Mutha-hood.

Now don’t be surprised when Hassan is pardoned by Chicago, Inc. –for humanitarian reasons, of course.

"Allah Akbar (Arabic: الله أكبر) is an Islamic phrase, called Takbir in Arabic, meaning "God is greater" or "God is [the] greatest"."

In spite of the definition of the term, it acquires an entirely different meaning when the person shouting it has a blazing automatic weapon in use.

If that weapon is directed towards towards a civilian populace, it is automatically determined that we have a case of extreme Islamic terrorism.

If the person shouting Allah Akbar firing an automatic weapon on a military reservation kills thirteen unarmed and off duty soldiers, this is not terrorism but workplace violence.

What kind of vacuous thinking is that?

In the War on Terror, how can the injuries and death of these soldiers not be considered combat related casualties? What monster would dream up this circumstance? Why would anybody defend such nonsense?

If we have a military code of justice, then we need to adhere to those principles. What we need is a code of justice to take care of soldiers killed and wounded in a war that is politically uncomfortable for an arrogant President.

President Obama's loathing of everything military shows itself, and people suffer.

And Hassan is delaying with the beard situation and others...$$$

That this is considered WORKPLACE VIOLENCE is insane. I think any sane person realizes that. "Allah Akhbar" is not usually shouted in the workplace before a murder. At least not in my experience!

Are you all hearing that Obama's half brother got his 503 c3 tax exemption within 3 weeks from the IRS while conservatives waited a year and more?
Think that'll make CNN? I haven't seen it yet; if anybody does, please let me know. Thanks

Barry Lied, And People Died
Everyone Knew Benghazi Was a Terrorist Attack from Day One!
Everyone except the bunch of liars in the Obama Administration. United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice hit the media circuit, appearing on five Sunday talk shows telling us that it was that “Video” that cased the spark and the “protest” when she also know the truth about what really happened at Benghazi. And then they paraded out Hillary Clinton to “seal the deal” who repeated the Bull-Shit story and further cover up for President Chicken Shit. And Hillary Clinton sat there in front of the committee shouting and lying and insulting the US Senate. And these Liberal-Progress’s with their blinders on and their bellies full of Kool-aide believe anything that this Piece of Garbage who is the World’s Leader and holds the highest office in the land. lies about everything including the Murder of a US Ambassador and his 3 brave assistants...and the media obliges.
And another thing, who ever heard of the Top IRS official taking the Fifth Amendment when called to testify before Congress? What has she got to hide? A Government the 5th almost certainly affirms to the American people that they broke the law. Now, Come on libs and tell us how this means nothing. Or that it's no big deal!
This is a shining example of what Socialism is.
Shame on them all

I think that Obama IS More of a Criminal Than Nixon Was!
Although Nixon is quoted by John Dean as fuming "Why Can't We Use the IRS against them?"...he did not do so.
Thus...article two of the articles of impeachment used the term 'endeavored'....

"He has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, endeavoured to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposed not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be initiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner."

But the Chicago thug administration never stopped at 'endeavor'.....they went on to actually achieve the illegality....

The Obama team "obtained from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposed not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be initiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner."

There is little question that one or more employees at the IRS stole our confidential tax return and leaked it to our political enemies, in violation of federal law...
Was it wrong? Definitely Yes!

Does is break federal law? Yes!

Is it a high crime and/or misdemeanor? Yes!

I agree 100%. As much as Nixon disappointed me he wasn't out to "fundamentally change" (destroy) our Country. As far as B.O. is concerned; is there a stronger term than just "criminal"?

Chic and Jon...so true. Nixon was a lout in so many ways, but did he do anything Dems hadn't done and weren't castigated for? (I've never thought so)...
And Nixon loved this country. At least he had that.

Even worse, those soldiers shot and killed by Nidal Hasan have not been awarded a Purple Heart medal...

Eligibility criteria for the Purple Heart Medal is as follows:

a. The Purple Heart is awarded in the name of the President of the United States to any member of an Armed Force or any civilian national of the United States who, while serving under competent authority in any capacity with one of the U.S. Armed Services after 5 April 1917, has been wounded or killed, or who has died or may hereafter die after being wounded

(1) In any action against an enemy of the United States.

(2) In any action with an opposing armed force of a foreign country in which the Armed Forces of the United States are or have been engaged.

(3) While serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party.

(4) As a result of an act of any such enemy of opposing armed forces.

(5) As the result of an act of any hostile foreign force.

(6) After 28 March 1973, as a result of an international terrorist attack against the United States or a foreign nation friendly to the United States, recognized as such an attack by the Secretary of the Army, or jointly by the Secretaries of the separate armed Services concerned if persons from more than one service are wounded in the attack.

(7) After 28 March 1973, as a result of military operations while serving outside the territory of the United States as part of a peacekeeping force.

b. While clearly an individual decoration, the Purple Heart differs from all other decorations in that an individual is not "recommended" for the decoration; rather he or she is entitled to it upon meeting specific criteria.

(1) A Purple Heart is authorized for the first wound suffered under conditions indicated above, but for each subsequent award an Oak Leaf Cluster will be awarded to be worn on the medal or ribbon. Not more than one award will be made for more than one wound or injury received at the same instant or from the same missile, force, explosion, or agent.

(2) A wound is defined as an injury to any part of the body from an outside force or agent sustained under one or more of the conditions listed above. A physical lesion is not required, however, the wound for which the award is made must have required treatment by a medical officer and records of medical treatment for wounds or injuries received in action must have been made a matter of official record.

(3) When contemplating an award of this decoration, the key issue that commanders must take into consideration is the degree to which the enemy caused the injury. The fact that the proposed recipient was participating in direct or indirect combat operations is a necessary prerequisite, but is not sole justification for award.

And when are people going to wake up? Oh, ya...I forgot; it's only a few muslims who do these things.

I suppose Islam and its desire to Islamify all of Western civilization is counting on the goodness of Western society, isn't it. They know that Westerners will never condemn all for the actions of few.
This is nothing new, this purge; it's just had thousands of years to finally figure out how much more cunning and ugly they are than we are and use it against us.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

[continued]

(4) Examples of enemy-related injuries which clearly justify award of the Purple Heart are as follows:

(a) Injury caused by enemy bullet, shrapnel, or other projectile created by enemy action.

(b) Injury caused by enemy placed mine or trap.

(c) Injury caused by enemy released chemical, biological or nuclear agent.

(d) Injury caused by vehicle or aircraft accident resulting from enemy fire.

(e) Concussion injuries caused as a result of enemy generated explosions.

(5) Examples of injuries or wounds which clearly do not qualify for award of the Purple Heart are as follows:

(a) Frostbite or trench foot injuries.

(b) Heat stroke.

(c) Food poisoning not caused by enemy agents.

(d) Chemical, biological, or nuclear agents not released by the enemy.

(e) Battle fatigue.

(f) Disease not directly caused by enemy agents.

(g) Accidents, to include explosive, aircraft, vehicular, and other accidental wounding not related to or caused by enemy action.

(h) Self-inflicted wounds, except when in the heat of battle, and not involving gross negligence.

(i) Post traumatic stress disorders.

(j) Jump injuries not caused by enemy action.

(6) It is not intended that such a strict interpretation of the requirement for the wound or injury to be caused by direct result of hostile action be taken that it would preclude the award being made to deserving personnel. Commanders must also take into consideration, the circumstances surrounding an injury, even if it appears to meet the criteria. Note the following examples:

(a) In case such as an individual injured while making a parachute landing from an aircraft that had been brought down enemy fire; or, an individual injured as a result of a vehicle accident caused by enemy fire, the decision will be made in favor of the individual and the award will be made.

(b) Individuals wounded or killed as a result of "friendly fire" in the "heat of battle" will be awarded the Purple Heart as long as the "friendly" projectile or agent was released with the full intent of inflicting damage or destroying enemy troops or equipment.

(c) Individuals injured as a result of their own negligence; for example, driving or walking through an unauthorized area known to have been mined or placed off limits or searching for or picking up unexploded munitions as war souvenirs, will not be awarded the Purple Heart as they clearly were not injured as a result of enemy action, but rather by their own negligence.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

[continued]
c. A Purple Heart will be issued to the next of kin of each person entitled to a posthumous award. Issue will be made automatically by the Commanding General, PERSCOM, upon receiving a report of death indicating entitlement.

d. Posthumous awards to personnel who were killed or died of wounds after 5 April 1917 will be made to the appropriate next of kin upon application to the Commanding General, PERSCOM.

e. Any member of the Army who was awarded the Purple Heart for meritorious achievement or service, as opposed to wounds received in action, between 7 December 1941 and 22 September 1943, may apply for award of an appropriate decoration instead of the Purple Heart.

f. For those who became Prisoners of War after 25 April 1962, the Purple Heart will be awarded to individuals wounded while prisoners of foreign forces, upon submission by the individual to the Department of the U.S. Army of an affidavit that is supported by a statement from a witness, if this is possible. Documentation and inquiries Should be directed to Commander, PERSCOM, ATTN: TAPCPDA, Alexandria, VA 22332-0471.

g. Any member of the U.S. Army who believes that he or she is eligible for the Purple Heart, but through unusual circumstances no award was made, may submit an application through military channels, to Commander, PERSCOM, ATTN: TAPC-PDA, Alexandria, VA 22332-0471. Application will include complete documentation, to include evidence of medical treatment, pertaining to the wound.

They most certainly do deserve Purple Heat medals.

My point was that the government would have to recognize Hasan as an enemy combatant. Given that the FBI was watching Hasan's communications with al Qaeda and later watched him kill people (what did you think watch lists are for?), it should be fairly easy to establish this.
