"Lies, or Stupidity?"

by Howie Carr, in Sunday's Boston Herald

On the issue of Barack Obama’s management of the so-called Syrian crisis, the American public seems split into two camps.

Half the country believes he’s lying.

The other half believes he doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about.

Is it possible both sides could be right?

After all, this is the same guy who closed Gitmo — right?

And once said on national television that he was of the “Muslim faith,” until Democrat Kool-Aid drinker George Stephanopoulos had to remind him that he is a Christian.

When he was trying to sell a book he said he was born in Kenya, and when he was running for president he said he was born in the U.S.

Dr. Obama has said, among other things, that kidney problems require patients to have “Breathalyzers,” that the United States built the “intercontinental” railroad, and that if every motorist would just properly inflate their tires, the energy crisis would be over.

Fifty-seven states.

“Companies like Solyndra are leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future.”

They speak “Austrian” in Austria. And Arabic in Afghanistan.

“On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes, and I see many of them here in the audience today...”

He calls Hawaii “Asia.”

Benghazi was caused by a YouTube video — a video by a Christian, naturally.

The Cambridge police acted stupidly.

He’s focusing “laser-like” on the economy.

“I favor legalizing same-sex marriages and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages.”

“I am not somebody who promotes same-sex marriage.”

The Keystone XL Pipeline will only create 50 jobs.

He once bowled a 129 — “this is like Special Olympics.”

His parents first met at the Selma, Ala., marches — five years after he was born.

Al-Qaeda is on the run.

Pre-Sandusky, his favorite college football team was the “Nittaly Lions” of Penn State.

He’s a “South Side kid” and lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox, but cannot name a single player, past or present, and thinks that the team plays at Comiskey Park.

He says the nation must uphold “the ideal of public education” but sends his own children to private school.

Dr. Abdul Nissan, slaughtering unarmed Americans as he chanted “Allahu Akbar,” was “workplace violence.”

Under Obamacare you will get to keep your own doctor, and it will “bend the cost curve.”

He would bring a new civility to Washington, while
calling Tea Party members “teabaggers.”

If you make $250,000 or less a year, you “will not see any form of tax increase.”

On his March Madness sheet, he once spelled “Syracuse” as “Syracus.”

“You didn’t build that ...”

No one is trying to take your guns away.

His grandfather liberated Auschwitz.

His father fought in World War II.

In his memoir, he had a “composite girlfriend.”

The sequester was not his idea, and it would cause complete paralysis in the U.S., or so “some people” falsely said.

He was unaware that Rev. Jeremiah Wright was a radical.

Let’s have a big round of applause for “Navy Corpse-man Christian Brossard.”

There used to be a saying in the ’60s — “Would you buy a used war from this man?” Like the peace sign, it’s back, by popular demand.

Z, GeeeeZ readers.......lies or stupidity? Or neither, or both?  Is this a fair list?  What do you disagree with?

Recent opinion piece at Reuters: "For Obama, a contradiction too many."

Last paragraph:

In short, Obama is asking the American public to trust him. In a rare moment of unity, Americans on the right and left are saying they do not. The president has engaged in one contradiction too many.

If Obama loses the attack-Syria vote in Congress, maybe -- just maybe -- he'll be a lame duck. The fickle media just might abandon him.

President BO (the amateur president) is both a liar and an incompetent. He does not know what he is doing and then lies to make it seem like he does. Like Bill Clinton, he is the ultimate politician. And fools like Ema Nymton just go along defending him at every turn.

That's redundant...he's a politician...of course he's a stupid liar.

After reading the absurd post by Ema, here are my two cents worth, I personally think Obama wants a military strike against Syria. I think that he wants a war of his own. I’m sorry but I don’t agree with Obama.. Nobody really knows if Syria has used chemical weapons or not. Maybe it WAS the Rebels. . What the majority of the people don't understand is that if Obama does attack Syria there will most definitely be a retaliation, and we will suffer from it immensely.
All I can say that as a nation are truly that ignorant if we launch even one missel. Do you think Syria is going to stop using chemical weapons? And I think that North Korea and Iran and other rogue nations are very likely to join them.. That anti war protesters are right. The whole world is watching what Obama does. I think that the politicians are right, we should play it safe and NOT take a stand we should NOT do anything and let the UN handle it. They never do anything so let them start this time. . And President Obama should stand down. Guys like Assad are likely to do anything and trust me that will only be the start of world war three. Military force should not be an option here. . Now I voted for Obama twice. And I am totally against this attack. We, as Americans have no business trying to be the “policemen” of the world, Most of the American people DO NOT stand with this president and his regime on this one.
This is not what the American people want. Many of us just want to do what we have to in order to survive day to day. The funny thing about media is that they only show you what they want you to believe. The American government is attempting to become more of a dictatorship by forcing products such as obamacare on the people, the economy is horrid there is no work, no work means no money in turn creates homeless people and families, inflation to the point that American households can barely afford to feed their family, and the government could care less.
This War will be a shame stain on the Obama Administration, and the American people and our allies. SAY NO TO WAR!

Late Breaking News!

A new national survey shows President Barack Obama is swimming against a strong tide of public opinion as he presses his case for a U.S. military strike in Syria (CNN)

Nearly six in 10 Americans think Congress should not authorize limited military action in Syria, with roughly seven in 10 saying that air strikes against Syria would not achieve any significant goals for the U.S. and that the U.S. does not have any national interest in Syria.

Let´s see how many under-the-table pay-off deals zippy can pull off before the vote.

Here is were we stand in a nut-shell. If we are not willing to envision an end and unwilling to stay til the end, then it is best we stay out. At this stage of the game, staying out is probably the best course of action – mostly because Obama has botched it so badly to this point. It is not because people are getting isolationist that intervention in Syria is unpopular, but because Obama has proven himself a fool and no one wants to dive in to a murky situation without some idea of what we hope to accomplish, what it might cost and how long it will take. But good things can be done with American power – wisdom is not to be found in launching endless wars, nor in the twin follies of pacifism and isolationism. Clear headed, rational thinking informed by the actual facts can get us out of this mess – and help the people of Syria, in to the bargain. My prayer is that some how, some way even Obama will start to see things clearly and back out of his “Red Line” option so that we could stay out of this mess. Furthermore, we do decide to attack, and I still think that’s a very bad idea to impose a solution – our weight thrown on to any particular side will allow that side to emerge victorious. If, that is, we make it clear that if we decide to come in on a side that we’ll come all the way in with whatever level of force would prove necessary. Half measure won’t do; lobbing a few missiles is absurd. If we want to have any particular result in Syria, then we have to will the means as well as envision the ends. The threat of the Big Stick is not going to do it. Whatever the country really needs right now, isn't another Obama speech. Maybe he should just go and play golf until this blows over.

What I want to know is where are those Liberal anti-war protesters for this impending invasion of Syria? You know who I mean, all those hippies, and peace-loving doves who demonstrated against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Where are all those Anti-war groups who were running all over with all of those anti Bush signs and picturing him as a Dumb Chimpanzee? Where is Code Pink, and Code Yellow, and Code ignorance!
Where are all those Liberals chanting "War Crimes" and Impeachment signs? And Mothers against this and Mothers against that? Their silence is highly suspect! the voices from the anti-war Left are very quiet this time. Could they ALL be sitting around in some Starbucks somewhere drinking latte's and eating sushi!

I find that a comprehensive list of the moronic spewings that have come from the mouth of this President. Whether he's lying or simply doesn't know what he's talking about, I believe it's a combination of both. His publicly projected persona so manufactured and embraced by his media touts really displays the depth of the problem than just the man (Obama) himself. He's more a fraud of little or no substance and he's able to be molded into almost any image by his media handlers.

His efforts to engage the country and the world in a conflagration which could and likely would result in a much wider and destructive war is ridiculous. Look at the aftermath of the two most recent efforts, Iraq and Afghanistan. Are either of those countries better today than they were before American involvement? Not that is evident to me, since both are ongoing without end. Why would Syria be different?

I've said this before and I'll say it again. I truly believe the only reason John Kerry was placed in the position of Secretary of State is that he’d look like such an AS it would make Hillary Clinton look really great. and that would help her for a presidential run.

Why try to argue with Ema Nymton
Arguing with simplistic idiots on the Left is like playing chess with a pigeon. As good as I am, the bird is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

AOW, I can't imagine the media abandoning him; he's too smart not to, very soon, pick a brand new cause they LOVE which will immediately get them back on board.

But, he SURE DID get Benghazi and the IRS situation, and so many others, off the news with Syria, didn't he?
"
Do leftwingers not hear the RED LINE words he spoke and is now denying? That's surprising to me. It's ON VIDEO...is it just denial?

Joe, remember the unbelievably nasty attacks on Bush for positively every single thing he did? Suddenly, this guy's apparently above criticism? go figure.

CI...:-)

Anonymous..you voted for Obama but you think the first commenter's "absurd". interesting. And honest, I guess.
I think most libs are against hitting Syria in any way.

GZ: He DEFINITELY blew it. And liberals aren't hearing his RED LINE comment and realizing his saying he did NOT say it doesn't make it go away.

Waylon; it's hard to deny one thing on the list, isn't it. At least if your eyes are open. Do people think Carr made them up??

Jim, I'd never thought he was stupid before, but am beginning to wonder how stupid he thinks WE are to say something, be taped saying it, then deny he ever said it.

What we have to know is that he can say ANYTHING and the media broadcasts it...it might not be true, but the people don't ask.
what's positively scary is that the media doesn't ask. "you'll be able to keep your healthcare" either showed a terrible LIE or an inability to understand the consequences of his healthcare debacle. Who knows which?

Thanks, everybody!
I posted this by Mr. Howie Carr, to see what you might NOT agree with....anybody see anything Obama did NOT say or do that's on the list?

Just watched CNN for five minutes this morning...they did a quick bit on how Obama's appearing on "all the news shows to push his agenda"..
they mentioned the networks and pbs, but no FOX :-) (FOX, the largest viewership of all of them)
There was there little graphic image of the logos of those stations behind the words spoken by that silly Carol Costello...no FOX.
cracks me up.

Let's not forget, Obama's turned FOX down since he did O'Reilly a few years ago...and that he IS going to be on with Chris Wallace today, I believe. :-) MUCH bigger news than going on ABC or NBC, again and again.

THIS is a PERFECT EXAMPLE of a dishonest news service. Sad, really.

No, the list didn't bother me; they're ALL better than most liberals.
And no, I was absolutely DELIGHTED with Trump's honesty and ability to talk unlike a politician, but I always included that he is THE biggest egomaniac EVER...no, I didn't back Trump. I waxed eloquent on his ability to tell it like he saw it. I wish more were like him.
Do you want to revisit the charges of racism to conservatives though they did back black conservative candidates? No, I didn't think so.

Z said...

just one more thing before I head off to work:

I thought the White House's release of Syrians convulsing due to the chemical attacks is a VERY low thing to do. None of us doesn't realize how terrible chemicals are. Would they stoop this low for them to get their way?...
Where were these voices when Saddam chem'd THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND KURDS? There had been no doubt about who did THAT one, but the left was silent. Obama voted against war.
which supported Bush and their own countries' intel... and Kerry has France? Any others?

I don't think ANY politician can possibly avoid hypocrisy because things change, we don't hear about them, and it might make a president look hypocritical in a change of mind, but THIS is beyond the pale, in my opinion.

What do you think showing those films is doing other than further coarsening Americans to devastating pain of others?

Putin is saying he will try to get Syria to put down the chem weapons......will Obama allow this? It would be THE BEST SOLUTION. How could it not?
We're off the hook, the Syrians are less threatened, and it's over.

We cannot say that Obama is stupid. The man is too smart by far for such a label as that. I think, rather, that Obama is simply too smart for his own good. Everyone blunders from time to time (such as his slip of the tongue regarding 57 states). I seem to recall the glee displayed by the left whenever a tongue-tied “Dubya” revealed himself. Now, of course, they resent anyone that dares point to similar mistakes involving the “anointed one.”

Is Obama a liar? I think all politicians are liars—even those who only “spin” from time to time. Spin being the new politically correct word replacing lying asshole. Why is this so? Because stupid people are easy to fool—as already mentioned by that vile creature that calls herself “Not my name.” I think politicians rationalize it this way: “If those idiots are so willing to believe anything I say, then let’s just call it spin and they’ll never quite figure it out.”

I have another question. Was Barak Obama the best the left could find to lead this country? They even chose him over Hillary Clinton … wow. On the other hand, it does make sense. Remember that even after attributing this post verbatim to Howie Carr, “Not my name” thinks that this is Z’s view ... proving once again that idiots abound.

As I read the post, which is accurate BTW, all I can say is, it's an example of the President spreading a lot of gibberish.

Only true leftists like it, because it takes the focus off of all the scandals and causes more chaos, which the left needs to operate under the radar, like implementing Obamacare!!

GZ is right. Since he has given Congress the responsibility about Syria, whatever goes wrong, will be blamed on them. This is Obama's way out, which is what he does best.

Well it was the democratic party who put forth the community organizer on a pedestal, followed by the adoring media groveling at his side and drooling at every speech.

Republicans tried and tried and tried to tell everyone he wasn’t experienced, that all he was good at was giving speeches, that he had no foreign policy, or a domestic one for that matter…and what did they get for all that?

They were called teabaggers and racists. And now, now that it becomes crystal clear the man has no clue how to run a country, much less a community, they’re FINALLY beginning to realize we never should have elected him in the first place.

Just think how much more damage he can do to this country over the next few years. I shudder to think.

But his need to prove his manhood by invading Syria, is the beginning of his NEED, to put us on path to destruction or make us into a pariah to the world.

Anonymous said...

Even though Saddam Hussein used chemical weapons against the Kurds of northern Iraq, killing more than 5,000 men, women, and children, Obama didn’t consider that outrage sufficient to warrant American military intervention in Iraq.

Yet the 1,400 deaths Obama says were caused by the Syrian government’s sarin-gas attacks on its own population require a U.S. military response, in Obama’s view.

“What message will we send if a dictator can gas hundreds of children to death in plain sight and pay no price?” Obama said in a speech over the weekend.

“Presumably the same message he was willing to send when he opposed war with Iraq."

Becoming president also changed Obama’s views on the constitutional authority of the executive branch.

In late 2007, then-presidential candidate Obama told reporters that “the president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

Now that he’s president, Obama says he does have the constitutional authority to act without Congress but that he wants congressional approval anyway.

“I’ve long believed that our power is rooted not just in our military might, but in our example as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people,” he said a few days ago.

When the ill-fated intervention in Syria’s civil war blows up in the administration’s face, Obama will be able to pin at least part of the blame on Republicans ( No sick wimpy RINOS like McDunce and Grahamnesty) who lacked the moral courage to say no to an imperial president who has never had the best interests of the U.S. at heart.

Let's face it, BO is a lying sack of pond scum...as is his gangrenous gang of gagging sycophant enablers that surround him and prop him up.

JonBerg said...

"Syria, is the beginning of his NEED, to put us on path to destruction"

The BEGINNING? Well then, what's he been doing for the last five years???????? If you ask me, it will take, at least, an entire generation just to repair the damage that this [mistake] has inflicted upon our Nation. That, of course, depends upon our resolve to do so. It appears that the slackers have the numbers!

Progressives are vile rodents, who are sometimes known as liberal Democratics.

They are incapable of being intellectually honest in any debate that threatens their desire for control. They have an orthodoxy and they usually keep to it.

What we see in the past week or two is very unusual. HALF of the liberal Democrat orthodoxy is having a dispute with a competing liberal Democrat orthodoxy.

On the one hand, a good liberal Democratic will stick with the Party "leader" to keep the unity thing going (or at least the face of unity). On the other hand, a good liberal Democratic will always and invariably oppose all war at all times regardless of reason or need. But if the dear leader himself is busy advocating for war, one of the two competing orthodoxies will have to give.

I'd enjoy watching the psychotic split in the liberal Democrat ranks if this wasn't such an urgent matter.

This is about something much bigger than Obama and party politics.

And may I please add this: If you truly believe that someone is an idiot, a moron, a liar, or a psychopathic fiend, it doesn't do one tiny but of good to say so without showing clear proof.

Besides, didn't God warn us of the dire consequences sure to come if we call each other "fools?"
