A New Year WIsh................

Do you have a New Year WISH you would like to share....?   About our country, about your own personal life, about anything?    Whatever it is, I hope it comes true for you (unless it's Ducky wishing for total Socialism, of course :-)
Happy New Year, dear friends at geeeZ

I think that my biggest wish will be apparent to all who know of the situation in this household: that Mr. AOW would recover even more so that we can do some traveling (We want to visit Warren!) and so that his friends would be more willing to invite him for outings.

As for wishes for America, well, I wish that more Americans understood our Founding principles and wouldn't be so gullible about whom to elect as their public servants.

I don't think I'd wish for total socialism. I still feel the market economy is necessary in some areas.

If I had my wish, people would realize that within capitalist structures we do not have sufficient agency to reduce poverty and hunger. We can not sustain the current Western lifestyle without unacceptable cost. I'd wish for that consciousness to spread and for people to be less manipulated by fear.

My first wish for the country is that the newly elected Republican majority in the House will follow through with their campaign promises. I can already feel the slackening of energy, the lessening of zeal -- and the divisions in the GOP exacerbated by the RINO Establishment -- as the D'Rats and the RINO's once again appear to get away with acting as though the election did not take place -- or does not matter. The media reinforces this notion that nothing could or should loosen the D'Rats' death grip on Power. The RINOs as always roll over and play dead.

My second wish is that the Tea Party will not only gather more strength, more enthusiasm and more momentum, but that they will also garner more wisdom so they may choose better candidates than Joe Miller, Christine O'Donnell and Sharron Angle.

The defeat of Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina in California is not a tragedy, because they appeared more to be potential RINOs than the kind of counter-revolutionary people we desperately need -- "revolution" referring to Marxism in all its many guises, of course.

It may not be a popular idea here at geeeeZ, but during the Republican primaries leading up to the 2008 presidential election, the only candidate that openly sponsored an agenda that could REALLY save us was Ron Paul. If you listened to HIM -- and paid no attention to all that was said ABOUT him, you might agree.

Ron Paul is too old now to make a credible run for the presidency, but his reverence for the Constitution, for Liberty, for sound fiscal policy and his echo of George Washington's admonition to avoid "foreign entanglements" give his brand of thinking enormous credibility.

My third wish would be that if we are forced to go to war again -- because we have been openly attacked as we were at Pearl Harbor -- we would regain our will and determination to WIN a DECISIVE VICTORY.

The supposedly enlightened thinking that came out of Nuremberg and the birth of the UN Charter has caused us to emasculate ourselves.

On a more personal level I wish people would be more inclined to give each other the benefit of the doubt on all levels, and to remember that "little things mean a lot."

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I mean, the word Socialism for you the Americans is equal to Capitalism for the europeans;

Both of them push back the people.

Bon, à touts ce qui comprent Français;
Je souhaite une tres bonne année de bonheur et santé.

If I had my wish, people would realize that within capitalist structures we do not have sufficient agency to reduce poverty and hunger.

What I'd wish in return is that people who are attracted to socialism finally recognize that capitalism does far better at reducing poverty by generating wealth which generates employment and stimulates giving. The history of America is a demonstration of this.

Socialism generates nothing, uses up everything and CAUSES poverty. The history of the Soviet Union in this case?

Of course they don't want PURE socialism, they want enough capitalism to generate enough wealth so they can steal it and use it up for their own causes instead of letting people make their own decisions. That seems to work fine until it turns out it leads to bankruptcy as they can't meet all the needs they've contracted to meet.

Or something like that.

My own wish for the New Year is that Jesus come back. I don't think things are going to get any better and I'm ready to leave.

Happy New Year everyone!
If I had only one wish that could come true, I would wish for a complete rollback of the statist tyranny of the last 2 1/2 years. I know that's modest, especially since I could wish for a total rollback of tyranny, and good health and wealth for everyone.

If we get BIG brother out of the way, so many of the other things will sort themselves out.

I hope the US goes back to its principles and fundamentals: local democracy, more power to the 50 states, cities, counties, so well explained by Tocqueville.

The fed gov is poison. All those anti democratic agencies who rule us are poison. Hopefully 2011 will continue the peaceful change started in 2010 to go back to those fundamental principles.

My wish:

That by mid year Harry Reid will still be in office.”

Even though he really died 3 months before, nobody noticed and he will still be sitting at his desk, doing the same thing he always does, nothing. But, in death, his approval ratings will actually go up because he will not be able to do more harm to the country.

Harry Reid has to be the most evil, corrupt, and hypocritical (even for a politician, that’s a first) politician there ever was. I really hope somebody at the Dept. of Justice one day takes a look at all of the “land deals” he made in Nevada. I’d just love to see this guy go to jail. Maybe he can share a cell with Charlie Rangel.

Ducky, if you've paid attention in the past 20 years, globalization, easier trade and capitalism have helped many poor countries to get out of their under developed states. I don't know where you've been but it seems you missed the news on that one.

Socialism creates more poverty. In the 80s in France under Mitterrand the homeless population grew rapidly. To the point homeless would sell their own newspapers to make money.

It's unfortunate but poverty will never go away. Doesn't mean we can't help but it certainly not by making every body less rich that you're going to fix it. I experienced it, my brother experiences it and it ain't workin.

Poverty is alleviated through prosperity. Socialism and social democracy don't bring prosperity. It's that simple.

Faith, well said. It's unfortunate that so many can't seem to learn from history. You're right, it's common sense that if the middle class becomes less prosperous, there is no longer a way to sustain a socialist agenda.

Of course the biggest loss is freedom, and that is the saddest consequence of all.

FT, Whitman and Fiorina were not close to the disaster called Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer. Brown's already sending out signals he want's to raise the California sales tax, and car registration cost.

We also now have the worry the one party rule (democrat) in Sacramento will try an end run around Prop. 13. They won't be happy until California is beyond saving. Even now, it's iffy!

Ducky, what's the matter you afraid your ox will be gored? There's no such thing as having limited socialism. It's like saying one's a little bit pregnant.

Hi Sam, good to see you here. I hope all is well with you.

I wish for the Republicans to find the spine they need to fight for this country.

You're 100% right Pris. There's no 3rd way. The 3rd way always lead to socialism and more statistm, centralized gov. That's human nature. As soon as you create a system like this, it wants more and engulfs the rest of the economy.

France started with major welfare programs in 1976 to fight the oil crisis. Then Mitterrand, nationalizations, more welfare, etc.... Before that the unemployment rate was a normal, natural one (3-5%). Now the 10-13% range is the natural one.

That's the 3rd way or progress as they call it.

The 3rd way is for undecided people who don't have the courage of their opinions and are not ready to back up their principles.

Fail.

I listened to his pronouncements on foreign policy.

I listened to Dennios Kucinich's pronouncements on foreign policy.

There was no difference.

Ron Paul is in the wrong party, and possibly on the wrong planet.

Very few people like to realize that Whitman and Fiorina got tons of votes...ya, they lost, but the Brown/Allred scandal of the maid lost Whitman that election, or a huge amount of votes anyway, and Fiorina was painted as being unthinkingly rich...as if Kennedys and Kerrys, etc., weren't rich. Somehow, it's okay for Lefties but not okay for the right to have become highly successful.

Faith's right about SOcialism, of course; it's never worked. PERIOD.

FB...when people get used to welfare you can't take it away. This is, in my opinion, why the Right may never win elections again...wait till they start hacking at the spending mess obama's had passed this last year; the media and the lefties will do nothing but propagate the lunacy that it's because Republicans don't like the poor; wait for it.

Pris, they don't want California saved! How could they possibly want that when everything they're going for is paying MORE for illegals, ignoring how much illegals have cost us, when they're against people getting successful, when every law they enact turns more and more businesses out of the State, right? We both could go on with the list that tells Californians the Left wants our ruin; but try to tell idiot "progresssives" that!!

BY THE WAY,
There's a letter many Congressmen have sent to Obama regarding his leaving God out when he 'quotes' from the Dec of Independence and how he got the country's motto wrong when he spoke in Indonesia.
Can somebody manage to copy/paste it for me here? It's long, you who don't have my email address may have to post it in pieces, but I find it fascinating and a little terrifying that every venue I've found it on is uncopyable.....I'll hold on the 'terrifying' until I am proven that no WAY can we reproduce that letter.
I will leave the term 'terrifying' in because our media's ignoring it. WOW. Just Damned WOW

Hi Pris;

Me too, Very happy to see you here;

You the people, you are talking about socialism as your domestic business, Prosperity, Poverty, happiness, and so, and so.

the Socialism as a political system and the function of the socialists in the international stage is something that needs the years of discussion.

As a first step, I can mention " the HUGE APPETITE of the SOCIALISTS to back seriously and sincerely the most GENOCIDE R personages like Ahmadinejad.

FB, thanks. I couldn't agree more. Socialism is a cancer, and unless there's a cure, it keeps spreading and takes on a life of it's own.

Z, yes, you're right. It's as though the left is driving with no rear view mirror to see the litter they left behind. They just keep driving and littering. Jerry Brown is another Obama. An emperor with no clothes.

They're probably counting on a big federal bailout to prop up their agenda. You know, the same old too big to fail mantra! What a mess.

Yes Sam, we do know it's international. The left here in the US want's what Europe has done. They don't care about the consequences, they care only about power, and to control the people.

Happy New Year to you, Z.

Speaking of wishes for a New Year and including Ducky here's a link to a great former President, Ronald Reagan, pointing out the insidious nature of socialism worming its way into a position of control over the individual by exploiting "medical care". It's an ingenious way since opposing something like medical care for the "needy" makes opposition seem to come from a cruel type of individual while the socialist can feign care and concern for the needy while expanding the tyranny of the state.

Seems obvious now why Ducky would be so denigrating toward Reagan since he spoke an obvious truth about statism in the form of socialism.

My wish is that liberals would all gather up and leave for one of the socialists utopias they long to foist upon us and pine about all the time.

It's a foolish wish though, no parasite leaves its host willingly. Happy new year Z.
