Lap dancing on US? (so to speak :-)

What is with THIS?   One of my commenters left information regarding Welfare recipients taking money out of their ATM or EBT cards at bars and strip clubs and, obviously (or presumably!?) spending the money there "instead of on diapers".   If this commenter left the info at my blog Sunday, he probably dropped it all over the blogosphere but I wondered if we could discuss this.

First:  The welfare money goes automatically into peoples' bank accounts?  I'm guessing they don't have to go pick it up anymore, but I don't know.  Is that right?  Making it as easy as possible, huh? :-)

Second:  Why is it that only more conservative sites are even carrying this story? SEE?  (I know the answer, just thought I'd remind us all).

Third:  Isn't there some way we can help people without their taking advantage as much as we've heard in the past?   That's YOUR MONEY they're spending on lap dances, folks.

Here's part of the Post article:

A database of 200 million Electronic Benefit Transfer records from January 2011 to July 2012, obtained by The Post through a Freedom of Information request, showed welfare recipients using their EBT cards to make dozens of cash withdrawals at ATMs inside Hank’s Saloon in Brooklyn; the Blue Door Video porn shop in the East Village; The Anchor, a sleek SoHo lounge; the Patriot Saloon in TriBeCa; and Drinks Galore, a liquor distributor in The Bronx.
The state Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), which oversees the “cash assistance program,” even lists some of these welfare-ready ATMs on its Web site.

And, truly... my posting this, and our discussing this,  does not mean that I'm against people in need getting help.  Please, lefties, don't even bother with your ridiculous insinuations.   This is YOUR MONEY going to lap dances, too.  If you like that, just go and hand people on the street in front of these joints money; I'm perfectly FINE with that.    Maybe you'd be, too?   Go for it.

So, everybody............any way to solve this problem?  How do only those needing our assistance GET our assistance?    I made a rule a while ago that when I give money to someone on the street, I won't tell them "don't buy booze," as it's not a gift if I tell him where to spend it.  But, THIS?  ARE YOU KIDDING MEEE?

What do you think?  CAN we stop this?

In my eyes, anyone who wants the government to spend more than zero dollars and zero cents on ANY welfare program or "entitlement" is a GD communist.

Nothing's going to change until enough people decide they aren't comunists after all.

It's like a debit card Z. They can use it just about anywhere, grocery store, gas pumps, ATM's--which means ANY THING AT ALL once they have the cash in hand. I've even seen an EBT card being used at a casino and then the money going right into a slot machine. Don't think I didn't ream that asshole a new one! I almost got thrown out of the place but I sure did embarrass the B######!
