Wednesday's Yahoo Poll...

Are you happy with the fiscal cliff deal?

* Yes — anything to avoid major tax hikes. 34%

* No — we need more reductions in spending. 66%

Z: SO....where were these people when they VOTED? Yahoo Homepage, if anything, leans left in its articles and its readers somehow show something different.....every time I look at one of the polls. This poll was particularly eye-opening and bittersweet. Yes, Yahoo readers on the street understand....what don't Obama and his people understand? WHY?   And yes, I know these homepage polls aren't exactly scientific, but they lean right nearly EVERY TIME on a left-leaning page.   odd.

Most of us understand that a majority of Americans who voted actually voted for THINGS...they know Obama will take care of them. The other part of his voters knows he'll take care of the needy and poor and that feels cozy to them. Don't they consider AMERICA?

Do they realize that if the 450+ billionaires in this country, the average having 4 billion dollars each, gave ALL they had, it would keep us going only ONE YEAR?

I keep asking this question and I have to ask it again; is Obama really so dense that he thinks hurting the rich will HELP? Or is this all ABOUT hurting the RICH? And why do the Gates and Winfrey's of this world give so much to Africa when we need so much help HERE? Is it not chic? I've often wondered that. And no, leftwinger GeeeZ readers, I am NOT against Africa, for God's sake. I'm for America's poor and needy first...why's that so painful to read?

There is no accounting for our people. Certainly, they are not stupid, but I am beginning to think otherwise. Indeed, where were all those people on election day?

It is my understanding that the so-called deal came too late to prevent a hit to the pocketbook of many Americans.

From this source, dated January 1, 2013:

The budget deal passed by the U.S. Senate today would raise taxes on 77.1 percent of U.S. households, mostly because of the expiration of a payroll tax cut, according to preliminary estimates from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center in Washington.

More than 80 percent of households with incomes between $50,000 and $200,000 would pay higher taxes. Among the households facing higher taxes, the average increase would be $1,635, the policy center said. A 2 percent payroll tax cut, enacted during the economic slowdown, is being allowed to expire as of yesterday.

The heaviest new burdens in 2013, compared with 2012, would fall on top earners, who would face higher rates on income, capital gains, dividends and estates. The top 1 percent of taxpayers, or those with incomes over $506,210, would pay an average of $73,633 more in taxes.

Much of that burden is concentrated at the very top of the income scale.

The top 0.1 percent of taxpayers, those with incomes over about $2.7 million, would pay an average of $443,910 more, reducing their after-tax incomes by 8.4 percent. They would pay 26 percent of the additional taxes imposed by the legislation.

Among households with incomes between $500,000 and $1 million, taxes would go up by an average of $14,812.

The bill, being discussed by House members today, would raise the top tax rate to 39.6 percent from 35 percent last year, starting with income over $400,000 for individuals and $450,000 for married couples.

The top tax rates on capital gains and dividends would go up to 23.8 percent, from 15 percent last year. The new rate includes a 3.8 percent tax from the 2010 health-care law that took effect today.

And from this source, dated January 3, 2013:

Taxes will go up on the rich only, right? Wrong. Federal taxes will rise for 77 percent of Americans because the two-percentage-point payroll tax cut has now expired. A person earning $50,000 and who is paid twice a month will lose $41.67 a paycheck. For the truly rich, those households whose income is $1 million or more, the average tax hit will be $171,330, per the Tax Policy Center. Households earning between $500,000 and $1 million will, on average, pay $15,055 more.

Bob, that's my question, exactly. There was fraud discussed directly after the election, but all that talk disappeared with F&F and Benghazi and so much more. Absolutely weird. I had videos on my blog in the primaries of 2008 of Chicago Hillary supporters talking about the fraud they saw by the Obama people in Houston... Even Gloria Allred complained until she apparently was told NOT to.

AOW, many Americans are in for a very rude awakening; I'm eager for that to happen because they are finally getting that Bush isn't to blame on this one. Not at all.
CNN cracks me up...they call the tax cuts "Bush ERA tax cuts" because they can't bring themselves to say "Bush tax cuts" to the public as if he helped them out at all :-) No matter if he did the cuts or the Dems did while he was in office, they're usually the BUSH TAX CUTS, but not on CNN !

I just heard that it took 10 days to get federal funding to the Katrina victims; it's 60 days now or so and the hurricane victims still have no fed. aid.

Peter King's furious but did you hear what HUGE pork was included on the bill? ...things ANY thinking American couldn't approve. WHY don't the Republicans talk about that!???? Or are they but the news won't carry that truth?

It's hard to tell with these polls. Could be the same people voting over and over.

It has already been established that people do not vote based upon facts. The downward spiral will continue until we finally hit bottom.

An uninformed electorate voted for what felt right not for what was right. How could an uninformed know what was right?

SF, that's what I suggested, too, but the reason I included the fact that so many of their polls swing more to the right is to show that it's not some fluke, not as much as we'd think, anyway.

"* No — we need more reductions in spending. 66%"

This group isn't that hard to figure out Z, I would bet that if one was able to question these folks I think you would find them willing to accept spending reductions in someone else's pet project. But would want their own pet project funding left alone.

It's always the same....its your Senator/Congressman that is the problem, not mine. I see that mind set all the time.

I forget the show I was watching, on that show was some gal from the Daily Beast and she was disappointed that the president wasn't cutting more spending. She didn't say where she wanted the spending cuts but, It wouldn't be that hard to figure out where.

The REAL question would be, where would these 66% want reductions. That would be the real eye opener.

I hate to disagree, but they'll believe whatever they are told.
When Katrina hit, it was bush's fault.
Sandy hits, and even Christie says it the Republican's fault.
it's a lose/lose/ deal as far as the fiscal cliff nonsense was.
The problem is that neither Boehner or that poor lost soul McConnell (and that IS the Republican leadership at the moment) can explain any of it clearly and meaningfully (passion, fervency, concern?) when given the opportunity.

We need to dramatically lower the rate of increase of the deficit. Eliminating it completely is not possible (or even desirable) without a severe reduction in growth.

Myself, I'd remind folks how much a for profit health, education and military cost and trim that fat.
Target the money that does nothing more than create equity bubbles and contributes nothing to growth or the community.

Or you can keep getting reamed by your Galtian masters. Your choice.

I maintain that "hurting the rich" is just an integral part of his larger goal, that of REVENGE. I almost said that nobody could be that dumb about Economics but then there must be many; after all he got re-elected!

Our economy is in shambles and Americans don't have the inclanation or fortitude to face it. Just look at the "Balanced" solution that our leaders came up with, 40:1, spending to cut. Now that's really balanced, isn't it! Even if Romney had won, the [best] we could have hoped for would have been a [slow] turn-around and I mean slow as in years and years! The path chosen by the electorate of this Nation will only lead us to armageddon and socialism-guaranteed!

Don't come here anymore with the name calling; nobody's calling you "pathetic"...
I'll tell you what, however,
PATHETIC is calling people racist because they back black AMericans who don't think like you do.
PATHETIC is not understanding the system and condemning the GOP for voting for (that jerk) Boehner .
PATHETIC is the leftwingers condemning the GOP for not voting for the full amount for hurricane victims of Sandy (did YOU see the amount of expensive pork with that bill? Of course not, because you hear only what you want to hear) and not calling Obama names when Bush had federal bucks to Katrina within 10 days and your hero hasn't supplied any money for SIXTY DAYS.

That's just a few examples of what's truly PATHETIC.

"but did you see 20 new Female senators and 16 of them democarps? Good God.."

Let's see if I can get away with this...and truly test whether we have some under cover fema-nazi's here.

This is what we need...more hand wringing Debbies, Jordans, Boxers, and the odious Feinstein ( whose husband, Blum stands to make a killing off the Al Gores treachery and traitorous sale to Arab - enemy scum ) that wishes to erase a constitutional right..NOT A PRIVILEGE....A RIGHT.

But the girls... being girls will wring their hands and say.....yes ...YES...we must get rid of those icky, nasty, terrible guns. We need to "protect" the children....we need to protect the schools....

These estrogen drunk idiots ( remember they elected that Pocahontas Warren....the Ward Chamberlin of native Americans to the Senate over a man who by any ( Brown ) was a wishy washy pansy anyway...) to have.."solidarity" with the glass ceiling and all that shit we've been fed for the last 20 years.

So...we've had 3 female S of State....and the current one has single handedly sold out America to the Islamist Fascists on orders from the black Furher? Yep...she has. Does anyone with the IQ of a fence post believe this wasn't planned and pre ordained?

We need more demorats in skirts in Congress? What's next...day care centers on the house floor?

And female demrats that want to and wil go along with the DISMANTLING of the Constitution? Just as the two fat farts on the Supreme Court will do...once they get another bolshevik to get gay with.

Whose going to protect those women? Not their eunuch husbands.....they won't be allowed to carry weapons...thanks to the commie Feinstein.

Why....is it always the Jews that want to take away our right to self defense? Why...haven't they learned one damn thing after 60 years? or haven't they seen what Israel puts up with? Stupid...stupid...Stupid, gullible, naive, ignorant of history assholes.

And I'm married to one that's as naive as she was when she was 16.

Kid said...

IMP, I hear you and while I see some incredible Conservative-Common Sense women out here and there, it is the huge exception to the rule.

Generally speaking women have been F* up this country - turning it into a giant day care center since helen gurley brown gave them their marching orders.

As a group, given they really aren't that happy "bringing home the bacon and frying it up in the pan" (who would be) I have to question their mental stability and capacity for critical thought.

There are articles in the news detailing how they've completely alienated themselves from men because of the women's lib movement. They don't like having to work like dogs, they want to get married but they've turned themselves into as unattractive as a group, as they possibly can.

It is no secret or surprise that women pretty much aren't interested in Logical Mechanical thought.

Women are made to be good at some things, and men at others. They're the lovers, the child raisers, the empaths, the emotion, the beauty, and we're the beasts of burden.

We're Different for a reason. We have different mental and physical capabilities.

MEN: We learn how stuff works, We move electricity from here to your house and keep it coming. We Love to take shit apart and put it back together again. I was doing it at 6 years old. My bicycle. 26 inch Schwinn. We fight off the vermin. We protect and serve. We fix the plumbing and the electrical problems in the house. We put the spiders outside. (those of us who are sane) and we love doing it.

We are guided by logic and understand tough love and everything that doesn't kill someone makes them stronger and that people Should grow up in tough times and be strong. We know that you don't need a law that says "No tackle football on the Cement Playground" or "No Putting Hands over the Fire."
We know that 30 kids seeing some idiot split his head open playing tackle football on cement will teach all the others for generations.

We can accept that if some kid does it twice and dies, he shouldn't be here in the first place !

Kid said...

... part 2

People! We're on a rock flying through space! and we don't live forever! and we need to be strong to keep the vermin at bay !

We are not born with freedom in our bloodstream. As Reagan said. We must be diligent every minute of every day to preserve it.

Women want everyone to be happy and get along. Even if it means inviting the muslim vermin into our country and disarming everyone. Oops, missed the criminals, lunatics, illegal mexican Vermin, (they're not all 23 year old mommas looking to make a better life for their family. Many are rapist murderers who know that even if they do get caught in America, they'll end up in a 3 start hotel called prison !)

They want to wrap everyone in cotton. They want no one to ever suffer pain. They want no child to feel the terrible anguish of being spanked for being a brat at school, or for losing a baseball game.

Hey ladies, I enjoyed the hell out of being spanked by a Hot Nun. Get a grip !

They don't understand that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. They don't understand that people NEED those lessons. Men do at least.

They feel more empathy for the F* vermin who raped and killed some 13 year old girl than they do for the dead 13 year old girl ! (He just needs help..what went wrong in his life, bla bla fricken bla)

As a result, they've turned this country into a moronic mediocre rewarding (at best) punish the successful, reward the guilty multi-cultural shithole.

MADD has caused some good men who somehow found themselves behind the wheel with .09 alcohol in their blood but perfectly capable of driving, to find themselves in prison while they weep over some POS who just raped and killed several young women.

They're not capable of rational thought. They can't make the tough decisions. Spare the rod and spoil the child is so foreign to them, we now have legions of ignorant undisciplined, force medicated children finding their way to college and can't even solve a simple algebra problem.

If I got whacked in school, and my parents found out about it, I got whacked when I got home too.

We have Microsoft with the highest number of Visa requests from vermin countries because we're not graduating kids who are capable of being software engineers physically or mentally, or emotionally.

And we give the women more power by the minute. This is not their calling generally speaking.

Ayn Rand, Margaret Thatcher, ah Ok. diane feinstien nana pelosi, boxer, that buckwheat girl who got voted out finally in Georgia - Not helpful

You could say almost the exact thing for MANY men these days that you said about women and their liberal stupidity about everything being 'nice nice' and 'let's not call terrorism terrorism'...hell, that's OBAMA, isn't it? And all his thugs?

I personally love not working but I know women who thrive on it.

I can't address all your points, or Imp's, but I don't think it's the women who're screwing this country up, though there are plenty (many of whom you've named) at the top of the (dung) heap who ARE.

I believe most men are equally as guilty for screwing up our kids these days.
I was at a one-hour Christmas Eve service at 3 pm on Christmas Eve day and there must have been 40 kids there...all ages. A new phenomena is that 'God forbid these kids should just have to SIT FOR AN HOUR"...like WE did. No, they had two tables of crayons and papers and little chairs so the parents could keep them occupied....
Sitting and listening teaches discipline, it teaches restraint, it teaches kids to entertain themselves in their own little minds or find things quietly which do, etc etc. NOooo...they had to BE OCCUPIED COLORING during the whole service. AND when they got noisy, ya think the parents hauled them immediately out so's not to bug other adults? OH, no..of course not. We had to ALL barely hear what was being said.

AND, get this; they had a little typical Christmas pageant of little kids as Joseph and Mary and Shepherds, etc...Mary marches down the aisle, about 7 years old, looking 34 month pregnant. Yup, they'd stuffed a huge cushion up her robes...at SEVEN. Yes, she's supposed to be Mary, but..REALLY? It looks like Jon Benet Ramsey'd been messing around...(God rest her soul)

Kids are SCREWED because of moms AND dads who can't discipline, or won't discipline.

(they don't teach them to sit for one darned hour and then have to give them drugs later for Att'n Deficit Disorder???!! man)

There are some women who want to be in combat infantry in the Marines. I have no problem with that if they can perform equally to the men they will be alongside. If they can't then I do have a problem, they'll get someone's son or daughter killed because they couldn't do their job.

Kid said...

Jen, I think it's worthwhile to add to this....
The labels we as a current American society been using have been so perverted, it's about impossible to converse using them. Conservative, Liberal for example.

You basically got me as a Conservative, using modern script, but did you know that true conservatives are Very Far Left socially? We are. We don't care what people do, as long as it is legal and in some cases illegal. Life, liberty, Pursuit of Happiness. Not many restrictions or judgements there. For good reason.
Our founders were Flaming Liberals but because of evolving terminology, we've come to call ourselves liberals.

Totally confuses the issue. We are the original liberals.

Progressive actually is a term coined by the fascist communists. Google it.

Anyway, real conservatives wish to have No Control over anyone. Religion? OK, No religion? Ok too.

Check out the constitution. It was written specifically so the common person (at the time) could read and understand it. Didn't need to be a lawyer. And most of it protects you from the government. The primary focus of pilgrims separating from an oppressive English Monarchy.

And if you don't think you need protection from the government, think again. Put that in the back of your mind and evaluate it against current events.

Regards.

Kid said...

Jen, Thank you. Ok, I may have been polarizing with the first comment. It's a big subject, and given my scope on events, there are lots of problems with our country in the areas of individual liberties and control. That was my focus when I write it but I do stand by my assessment that women generally speaking are not trained for logical mechanical thought, or would want to be, and that these skills are necessary to guide a country like ours in the global environment we have to deal with. It's not a nice world out there. No offense if you already know that.

Agree.

Something I say or think from time to time...

I have to forget about quite a bit to be happy on this rock. It's not a nice place considering all the human abuse going on. It is the worst planet I've ever lived on.
Yet, there is beauty and there are things worth fighting for. Least of which is individual liberty.

"America is mankind's last best hope"

Ronald Reagan. Got that right.

Kid said...

Jen i.e. ann coulter is more masculine than paul begala.

Don't know Ann very well and don't know paul at all..

I know ann is labeled as a conservative extremist but I don't read her, and I actually think most people in the media these days are just out to make money - "buy my book" and all that.

While we're on the subject, I really don't know of any "conservatives" who are visible to the country these days.
rush is way too polarizing, hannity is simple minded imo, I just don't see anyone out there making the case for liberty and common sense without dragging a lot of distasteful baggage along with them at the least or best, depending.

I know ann cried when chris christie didn't run for president. I don't think much of christie. All he did was tell the NJ teachers union there wasn't any money when there wasn't. Nor did he do much of anything substantial for the sandy victims/aftermath.

Well, it's late. Good luck to you and better times.

Z,

"JB..you'll never win, even if you're right. Please ignore"

Well, does this mean that the 'clown', in question, will always "win" by default?

Z said...

JB....absolutely not.
But 'winning' doesn't include having someone here who I know is worthless for constructive, noncombatant dialogue.

Z,

"Kids are SCREWED because of moms AND dads who can't discipline, or won't discipline."

"can't": Because Liberalism disallows it.

"won't": Because it's punitive to the disciplinarian (see "can't" above).

Leticia said..."Obama is not stupid he knows that by taxing the rich, which are mostly business owners, he will be forcing them to downsize or close and in turn, people will have no other choice but to rely on the government."

Really? Do tell how this will happen and why? This is one of the most inane posts I've read in quite some time.

Once again you are 'SPOT ON'!

You have exposed how the Fraud-in-Chief will cause this to happen and why. Yours is among the best posts of the day! Keep up the good work.
