That poor lost soul (I had actually typed "idiot", but I'm trying to "have a calm, beautiful Sunday........." per our host's admonition) posted the same thing on the previous post.
If Barack Insane Obama is not the antichrist, he is the dry run, the test case, the warning shot, the warm-up act.
I choose to take deep long breaths (per our host's admonition) and let it slide.
Who knows?
When I return in a little while I might see "comment deleted by administrator" and I would have gone anxious for naught.
Geez, I'm starting to sound like FT.

Z - That is one of Ms.Z's best photos.

Have a wonderful Sunday - Z.

We must be determined to stand on the promise as stated in Mathew 8:26.

Ed, DO have a calm, beautiful Sunday :-)

Sue, isn't it? I thought it was astonishingly beautiful.

Always...which is exactly why I posted it. I agree; determination. And it isn't always easy, is it!

Z,
Definitely difficult under certain circumstances.

When you read this famous poem, please try not to get distracted by silly thoughts of “sexism” when Kipling says, “you’ll be a Man, my son!”

What he means, of course, is “you will be a capable, fully mature, responsible adult able to function as a useful citizen.”

This in turn is apt to give us the best chance we’ll ever have to find happiness and personal fulfillment.

At heart Kipling was a deeply Christian human being.

____________ IF ______________

If you can keep your head when all about you
_____ Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
_____ But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
_____ Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
_____ And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
_____ If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
_____ And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
_____ Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
_____ And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
_____ And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
_____ And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
_____ To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
_____ Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
_____ Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
_____ If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
_____ With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
_____ And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

~ Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)

FT,
One of Kipling's most famous poems!

About seven years ago, one of my students was so impressed by that poem, covered in our literature class that particular school term, that she wrote her Letter About Literature to Kipling.

Sadly, at that time, the contest wanted only negative feelings expressed in the letters. **sigh**

That is my favorite Ms Z photo. And the verse goes perfectly!

Thank you. We could all use a calm, beautiful Sunday. That photo illustrates the thought perfectly.

I hope Ms. Z has video of that image that she can loop and look at for years to come.

Ed, your video is SO peaceful, thanks for that...and the sunset, so beautiful.
AND I watched Scherie drive the car down to the boat, too...VERY GOOD!

We lived on the Baker Chain of Lakes in Windermere, FLA for a while and I could see the lake from our windows and we'd go with friends on their boats..put-putting around...it was SUCH fun.
Thanks for that peaceful video and the happy reminder!
There was a boat house with a deck where we'd sit and have drinks in the early evening..glorious.
