Have at it.

What's bugging you THE MOST these days?

Lying Libs who are too blind to see what is happening to America.
I remember when I was a kid, and my parents always said, " it can't happen here". Well they were wrong, it IS happening.

Nothing political because I'm overwhelmed with grading end-of-term papers. Yesterday, the middle schoolers turned in a short research paper, and I'm dreading grading these papers. Every time that I do a research paper with any of my classes, parents whine about the grades I give on the papers -- never mind that it takes several egregious errors for me to give a student a failing grade on a research paper.

I've decided that there is no way I will assign a research paper for the 2014-2015 term.

The other thing bugging me right now is pothole season. It's an obstacle course on every road here -- including the interstates. I hope that I don't have to replace any tire rims!

Z - A lot of things are bugging me. But nothing stands out worth mentioning. We are having a lot of rain off and on - but that is necessary for spring to help the lawns and flowers grow - so I can't say that it is something that is bugging me.

Maybe it is the Stirling story. I wish he would fade out of the picture.

Always On Watch said...

Sue,
I'm irritated by the constant "coverage" of the Sterling story, too. I find myself muting the TV every time "a new development. BORING, BORING, BORING!

In no particular order:

1. The Red Sox bullpen is driving me crazy.

2. The news media in this country are so pathetic they haven't bothered to cover the critical election in India. This country is too insular.

3. The dipstick who's car alarm keeps going off has been at it for weeks.

What bugs me most are people who invent political drama and a media which treats this drama as 'news'.

What bugs me is you called me Bob yesterday I response to my Marty Goetz question.
Not bad to be confused with Bob, but still...

What bugs me most is that no one here ignores the trolls.

Boneheaded libs, the new "dynasty" of politians (i.e. same families over & over & ...) and political correctness. It's so boring!

Z said...

Ed, and I had you SO on my mind as I typed that it's even weirder! Sorry about that! Made me laugh, though.

AOW, what's with the parents? How are kids going to know how to write a research paper in the future?

Sue and AOW....the story's probably getting so much play because it supposedly shows racism. Does ANY of us know one person THAT nasty toward any minority? I don't think so, but let one rich JERK go off, and Kareem's writing about it because I believe he has a new book to sell, and Magic gets the attention he hasn't had for a long time, Sterling's wife finally gets some of his limelight with the news...
and heck, it prevents CNN from dealing with Benghazi or the IRS or the VA or any of the other stories that really DO need coverage of some extent.

CI; voila, the above.

Imp; when you have a blog, tell everybody to ignore the trolls. Then see them crawl out of the woodwork for the attention being drawn to them.

That...I'll remember.

Ed: I am honored to be confused with you. Good company, I'd say.

I'm with Ducky on his #2 about India. Getting international news is a real problem. On our cable system (ATT Uverse) we recently got English language Japanese channel NHK, and I get a LOT of international stuff that you will not get on CNN. Right now they are talking about different teas and tea plants (only one species).

Plus, we have one BBC channel. But, I really get sick of listening to their phony British accents.

Z,
what's with the parents?

The paranoia that their children's self-esteem will suffer.

Political correctness is a country killer! Offensiveness is part of it.

If people can't have an adult conversation, and disagree, does not mean one of them is evil.

This administration pits one group against another, which causes chaos and hate! They love it because the media can ignore real scandals and focus on stupidity and lies.

Z said...

AOW..yes, but my question was more rhetorical. Don't they realize this precious adorable kid full of undeserved self esteem will not be able to write a research paper in college?!

Imp; I do agree, however. It's just that, have you noticed, they almost all come out in droves on the very same day? Think that's a coincidence? :-)
There's behind the scenes juggling that makes me think "some progressives have FAR too much time on their hands," right, m'dear?

Bob...Ed and you. "honored by me?" Humbles me beyond measure. Thank you. You DO realize people are starting to ASK "where is Bob?" when they want YOUR opinion here!
I hope they're stopping by your excellent blog, too *(HINT HINT HINT!) :-)

Gad, sometimes I honestly feel SO BLESSED by the caliber of Americans here at GeeeeZ. THAT is humbling, let me tell you.

Pris; I couldn't agree more.
Am going to write something on PC soon. Focusing on scandals while the REAL scandals, scandals that affect OUR LIVES, are overcome by their silly scandals..or stories like the Nigerian girls. "Our girls," Mrs. Obama called them on her tweet? I seriously thought she meant Malia and Sasha for a second~!
They're not OUR GIRLS and why isn't she so upset that fifty or OUR Nigerian boys were BEHEADED their recently? I think the timing was off. They didn't need a scandal to drown out Benghazi or IRS or Carl Levin at that moment, right? grrrr

Impertinent said...

@Z:

"they almost all come out in droves on the very same day? Think that's a coincidence? :-)"

Hardly...I'm sure they all get PC privileges one day a week along with time in the exercise yard too? So they stop by to leave their droppings for you to clean up.

WANT TO GET REALY, REALLY PISSED OFF?

First they lost their television show. Now the Benham brothers say they are losing their business.

SunTrust Banks is cutting ties with would-be reality stars David and Jason Benham after liberal activists attacked them for their conservative views on abortion and gay marriage, The Daily Caller has learned.

In a statement provided first to TheDC on Friday, the Benham brothers confirmed that SunTrust Banks has pulled all of its listed properties with the Benham brothers’ bank-owned property business, which includes several franchisees across four states.

The move comes just a week after HGTV announced it was canceling a planned home renovation show hosted by the brothers.

“If our faith costs us our HGTV show and our business, then so be it,” said Jason Benham on Friday.

“We were caught off-guard with this one,” David Benham said of SunTrust’s actions. “Keeping us off television wasn’t enough, now this agenda to silence wants us out of the marketplace.”

The Benhams, in their statement, said the news came “without warning or explanation from SunTrust and took place over a 15 minute period” on Thursday. The Brothers said they have had a “mutually productive working relationship with SunTrust for many years” and hold a ”preferred broker” status with the bank.

The brothers said they contacted SunTrust, but bank employees declined to explain the reasoning for what happened.

"WANT TO GET REALY, REALLY PISSED OFF?"

Free market decision. I wouldn't want my commercial brand asinine public statements either.

Z said...

I'm with you, Imp.
Apparently, one must never disagree with the Left or one not only loses a situation like the HGTV one, but one loses one's BANK?
This is really amazing.

I guess Sun Trust must feel threatened. The Left has far reaching tentacles. 'You WILL not offer your opinions, or you WILL suffer. And you must NEVER consort with someone who has different opinions, either.'

my God.

Constitutional Insurgent said...

Z - If you owned a for-profit venture, would you associate your brand with someone who stated that [women/blacks/Christians, etc...] were 'like the Nazi's' or part of 'demonic forces attcking America'?

Nobody has a right NOT to be held accountable by the free market of voluntary association...for their public actions and statements.

Constitutional Insurgent said...

This is a prime example of inventing political drama.

T Krabby said...

@CI:

I wonder if they're brave enough to cut off...say the MB's or CAIR's accounts while they're boycotting or killing Christians and Jews who happen to have a differing opinion and beliefs that that of the leftist cult that now dictates our conversations?

On the other hand, who the hell knew they were associated with Sun Trust anyway?

Constitutional Insurgent said...

Does SunTrust maintain accounts for the Muslim Brotherhood or CAIR?

I stand by my question.....had the Benham statements been directed toward Christians.....would you maintain business ties with them?

T Krabby said...

@CI:

"Does SunTrust maintain accounts...."

If they do...they wouldn't admit it...they'd be branded islamophobes and be slammed by the LSM..."Islam means 'submission' - and there's nothing to fear for those who submit." And thats what all cowards would do.

Since the country is still about 88% Christian...and 3% homosesuals...and .2% Muslims, I'd bank where the biggest pot is.

Constitutional Insurgent said...

Islam aside, would you answer yes or no to my question? Most Christians [to their credit] do not take to the podium and engage in the rhetoric that the Benhams have.

Z said...

I think Krabby's point is the most cogent "Who the hell knew...anyway?"

I believe that if my accounts were with a bank where CAIR banked, it'd bug me BIG time and I might move.
But I'm not in the public light...who cares where I bank? And I'm really not sure if I'd leave if I was treated well at that bank.
Anti Christian? Nobody'd be banking there but people I wouldn't want to be around, so I'd leave.

This situation is with a pair of people who dared say they're against the homosexual agenda. They do not hate gays. This is a common error many onlookers make. They are not at all hateful and have nothing against gays; just don't feel that's God's plan. And, of course, they have every right to say that.
And they're also anti abortion advocates. Sad that anybody fighting THEM would be welcomed by HGTV, but we know that's true.
I'd say at least 40% of people on HGTV are gay couples looking for homes. Odd that the percentage of gays is so so SO far below that.

By the way, I'm against abortion but don't hate (far from it) any woman who can live with herself having done this to herself and her unborn child. I just don't want to pay for it.
And I'm also against the homosexual agenda being shoved on America (as is a well known blogger who's gay but whom I'd never out here in order to make ANY point, believe me), particularly our kids.

So, that's who I AM....Maybe you all should stop commenting here in revolt?

See you! :-)

T Krabby said...

@CI:

No..No Islam aside. Why do they get a pass to express their open hatred of Jews, Christianity? They hatred for all things Western and or American?

And two brothers, a Tebow, or the Duck guys, when asked about their beliefs literally get crucified? Shamed for their so called BS "isms'.

So to answer your question..."to their credit"...why would anyone have to OR WANT TO risk, what these people have sacrificed for their convictions when they see the results as these men have?

AND I will not ignore the imbalance and the blatant bias and dishonesty of Christian haters.

""Islam means 'submission' - and there's nothing to fear for those who submit."

And those who have mercilessly condemned these people and ruined their lives...have done just that...submitted.

And the rebound continues:
After an uproar from conservative customers, SunTrust Banks announced Friday afternoon that the decision to end its relationship with real estate entrepreneurs David and Jason Benham had been reversed.

http://dailycaller.com/2014/05/16/suntrust-reverses-decision-on-conservative-benham-brothers/#ixzz31vScqs4T

All this uproar -- and over positions that even Obama himself professed to support until a couple of years ago.

T Krabby said...

@Baysider:

See...when the other side of the "coin" ( which is all a bank is concerned about which happens to be their only bottom line ) reveals itself and it's power to swing the pendulum the other way though sheer anger, and they realize they've capitulated to the strident, authentic haters of all things right..or all things conservative...they know who really balances their books.

And this won't be the last time...they just keep on pushing and 99% of us have had enough.

Constitutional Insurgent said...

"No..No Islam aside."

Feel free to interject Islam into this discussion all you wish. It's irrelevant to me. I do not differentiate in opposition to mandated preferential treatment of religion in the free market, the arena of voluntary association or in free speech.

"....when asked about their beliefs literally get crucified?"

Literally? My goodness....not even figuratively crucified. I'm not sure I can muster up a response to this sort of imagination.

T Krabby said...

@CI:

Well...goodness Mr. Hemmingway...excuse my grammatical errors or "exaggerations" ( which is only clear to those whose ox is being gored ) as it's obcious you've now adopted the mantel of the resident linguist & language cop too. Will you grant me absolution or is demonstrating a Christian value too ... complicated or committal for you?

"I do not differentiate in opposition"

No you don't. Your fence straddling is legendary as is your impatience with opposing views. Picking the splinters out of your pants must be so time consuming and irritating. Or for you...irrelevant.

Pompous ass.

Baysider, SunTrust WILL keep the Benham accounts now? WOWZIR!
Yes, Obama, before elected, said the same thing about gay marriage.
How quickly they forget, huh?
Good news about SunTrust.

Krabby .."literally crucified" has to mean hanging on a cross, or tree, with nails through your hands. That's a stretch. (pardon the horrible term in regard to this situation, stretch!)

Um....YOU clearly mean "are REALLY in trouble" but to say literally crucified will give some the excuse to shun your term by taking it completely literally.
Which, you can hardly blame them, really, can you?

T Krabby said...

@Z:

I tried to explain my use of a metaphor. Yet one word "literally", completely renders the whole point and the message, irrelevant? And then only by one obnoxious, judgmental, snob and self righteous, contentious individual?

Of course they weren't "literally" crucified...as I said..it was a metaphor!

However in real terms they were symbolically hung on a cross of their faith as Christians. Their beliefs were attacked just as if they had been nailed to it.

It was done 2000 years ago for voicing incorrect, unpopular attitudes and philosophy. And throughout the world today, it's been resurrected, by liberal cowards and savage non believers..Muslims.

They were put up there for all to see what happens when you refuse to bow to the false gods of bankers and character assassins to satiate the insanity of PC.

That their lives could be destroyed, their careers ended, their company ruined, their employees out of work, their families in jeopardy, their clients left hanging, their work unfinished and the morality and consequences of that be damned.

Constitutional Insurgent said...

Thank you for proving me correct again. Your pejoratives are cute though. You wouldn't need them if your argument had conviction.

T Krabby said...

I agree.

Krabby, you don't have to explain that to me; I hoped I made myself clear that I understand "literally crucified"..I've used hyperbole like that from time to time. I'd have thought most people do.
thanks.
