I feel so profoundly sad for Chris Henry and such an early demise. Just had to mention it.

It's sad. Especially after turning it around. It's almost as God had a plan for him and his mission on Earth was accomplished.

After Sean Taylor (I'm a Redskins fan), it's another sad loss in the NFL.

But there are many sad losses. For example, a 12-year old was killed in Lyon by local gangs who were shooting using a submachine gun!!!

FRENCH kids, FrogBurger?
Yes, that's exactly the feeling I got from this story, by the way....Henry had seemingly become a firmer believer and his mission was accomplished. Who knows, maybe he affected a lot of people with his stronger faith!?

I'm sure they were French. Now they may be from immigrant families but they're still French.

OH, sure, FrogBurger, and those five "Americans" who plotted to fight against us in Afghanistan and worse are American and it should be construed by anybody reading that article I blogged on about their situation that they're Americans of no militant background!?

I surely do understand that they ARE "French" citizens and those 5 Americans ARE American citizens, but it always strikes me that we need to know if they are coming from places which do us harm...that's why I bring this up.

I know but I don't have the info. All I know is that they had a submachine gun in a country where weapons are banned and policemen are barely allowed to shoot to kill ;-)

Yes sir, guy gets into a domestic disturbance and runs out and jumps into the bed of a moving pickup.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility. This Darwin award stuff happens and the right gets all misty.

Z, this is off the subject. There's a comment for you on my blog under the posting "Their not extremists..."
It's from an old friend of mine, very trustworthy individual. I don't have your email address or I would have done a cut and paste and sent it that way.

Ducky, your sensitivity is overwhelming.

FrogBurger, exactly the point. No names, no pictures, huh?

Oops! I meant "they're" not "their"

I didn't know this guy's story at all. I don't follow the Bengals, but reading of someone dying at 26is a sad thing.

The Bengals are my fave, & I am sorry to hear of this. Z, this is the 1st I've heard of his faith. I can only trust that he knew the Lord. That's certainly all that matters now. God Bless.

Z,
I am a Bengals fan. Having followed Henry's story we were heartened that this physically talented young man was turning the corner. I was appalled by his behavior but always hoped for his turnaround. His death was sad.

Tonight on CNN, Rick Sanchez was absolutely smirking at the suggestion that Henry had changed his life around...it broke my heart. The typical liberal cynicism isn't wanted in America anymore

I hope he's at peace now, and that his fiancee gets some help.
