I saw that when you sent it to me. Shows how little principles and clarity of mind people like Matthews have. One day they like Glenn Beck, the next day they hate him. One day they like Juan Williams, the next day they hate him. One day they think they're open minded with gays and minorities until some of them vote conservatives.

I have no respect whatsoever for those people. They are unable to see the individual and at the end they are unable to accept differences. They like the herd, the group mindset. IF you get out of the herd, you're banished.

I guess Chrissy hadn't gotten his DNC talking points to hate Beck back then.

Of course, the left didn't see Beck as a serious threat to them back then, either.

And of course, no one will call Matthews out on this hypocrisy.

An aside, I can't believe how grey Glenn has gone since then! :)

Amazing. The thing this exposes is that someone like Matthews has no core beliefs or values.

It's all a facade, which makes anything he says meaningless.
I'd take being on the outside any day, before I'd sell my soul.

That show was from back in the days when Chris Mathews was still pretending to be a "moderate" and hadn't come out of the closet as a full-blown goose stepping socialist.

btw - Glenn unmasks the Left's "puppetmaster" on tonight's show. Be sure to watch!

Chris Matthews was one of the guys that got me interested in following politics. This was around 2000. I'd heard he was liberal, but didn't hear anything from him that seemed particularly biased. I do remember him devoting an entire show to Bernie Goldberg, who was proclaiming the left-wing bias of the media. Matthews was pretty adamant about opposing the Iraq war. Seems like that's where he started to get more opinionated. I haven't seen him lately to give an informed analysis of what he's up to now, but I don't get the impression that an hour with Bernie Goldberg is on his agenda.

tio, I couldn't agree more with everything you said. Mr and Mrs. Z used to really enjoy Matthews.......we knew he was a lib (worked for Tip O'Neil, etc.) but he seemed level headed, informative and pretty charming back then.... I, too, believe it was the Iraq war which tipped him over into the "Liberal enough to never regain sanity" status :-)
