Congratulations, San Francisco

San Francisco won the World Series.  If Boxer loses, California will REALLY be on a roll......

Is it too much to ask that they vote out Pelosi?

Finally. We're baseball free until sometime after the Super Bowl.

November baseball? C'mon. I used to complain about it running into October.

Play to eliminate. One game, two teams, win or lose. they could cut the season down and have playoffs by mid-summer, and the space could then be used for actual athletic events that involve most of the field.

[/end obligatory anti-baseball rant]

Beamish, used to be back in the day, there were no playoffs. Just the NL Pennant winner and AL Pennant winner in the world series. Made sense don't you think?
I can barely remember it myself.

But, there came TV, more and more teams were added, and eventually someone said, "there's more money to be made", and voila, playoffs!

Congrats Giants (she said grudgingly)! Linsecum is a heck of a pitcher though.

Oh come on Mr. Beamish, football's started hasn't it? It's amazing how you don't have to watch baseball. You just have to CHANGE THE CHANNEL! HaHa!

Cyber claw to you, FB! (long distance high-five)
I'm proud of our Texas Rangers.
They did a good job.

The Giants deserve to win, though. They were sure fun to watch.

An efficient system, even better if you pared the season down to the 30 near-daily playing teams playing each other no more than once a week. We could be done with the whole season in a few months and start promoting an actual sport.

The only time of year a stadium is sold out for a baseball game, and then, it's just one stadium.

Yes, but then there's the so-called sportcasters constantly talking about baseball during football season. It's like discussing economics on a cooking show, or ballet on show about bass fishing.

If I had not so recently been to California and made such wonderful friends, I would have been cheering for Texas, but I was pulling for the Giants. I love baseball, but into November is stretching it.
