I kind of liked Jill Clayburgh and am saddened to hear of her death at only 66 years old, of chronic leukemia. She was never a 'star' but she was always good, she always delivered a sensitive, fine and honest performance.
Goodbye, Jill Clayburgh........thanks for some good films.

SHe was only 66! So sad.
My mother died from B Cell type non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at age 69. Prior to that diagnosis she dealt with Chronic lymphocytic leukemia for 8 years. A few months after her death, I read a study that had been done on people who dyed their hair using the black through red spectrum during the years (late 60s - early 80s) that the carcinogenic red dye was used in hair dye. The results of the study made my blood run cold. Out of the participants who had dyed their hair during those years, about 80 some per cent developed some form of leukemia and about 60 some per cent developed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The death rate among the participants was 73% from start to end of the study (1980-2000 I believe). I remember my mother dying her hair for years. When my brother and sister were in college and money was tight, I did it for her when I was in high school. I see so many people dying so young, and I have to wonder how many are sick because of "progress" and exposure to products in our society.
James Macarthur or Hawaii five-o and Swiss Family Robinson just passed away too.

by the way, James MacArthur was Helen Hayes' adopted son. He was only 72, how sad.
