Lovely women............"Woopi for them"

Bill O'Reilly on  his show tonight when interviewing Woopi Goldberg;..."...whatever ..........Miss Goldberg"

Miss Woopi Goldberg......"...stop that Bullshit with Miss Goldberg....I'm Woopi"

This is how far women have risen since Feminism, huh?  Well, "Woopi for them"

Is there any way to FIX THIS?

Is there any way to FIX THIS?

Fix what? Watching Bill O'Reilly for any reason or eyeing Miss Whoopi as the terminal end of feminism?

;)

Z said...

Hey, beamish, I've been known to swear, TRUST me, but on television? Swearing at him for addressing her respectfully?

You want to fix ME for 'eyeing Miss Whoopi as the terminal end of feminism?'

You've got a point about O'Reilly...there are nights I want to throw something at the TV, he's so pompous and self-congratulatory. Particularly when he says what hard-balled questions he asked in that Obama excuse for a real interview...ugh.

FrogBurger said...

O'Reilly is only about selling books and gears.

Watching less Fox these days. It's getting boring. But I do like the Fox Business Network a lot.

Ducky's here said...

When's someone just going to give O'Reilly one in the chops? Swing from the hips and level the clown.

Z said...

FrogBurger, O'Reilly is oftentimes right, he's just so pompous he's hard to watch anymore.
The 'gear' is a good thing, however....all of the proceeds go to charity.

Ducky, sometimes, believe it or not, I agree with you.

FrogBurger said...

When's someone just going to give O'Reilly one in the chops? Swing from the hips and level the clown.

Was wondering the same about you, actually.

And by the way Woopi's nice and cute but when did she become some intellectual figure that has depth of judgment?

Z,

As you know, I have an extremely hostile aversion towards stupid people.

Watching Bill O'Reilly and Whoopi Goldberg on screen simultaneously is the intellectual equivalent of force feeding yourself a dirty diaper. There's just no redemption there.

I was merely yanking your chain for mentioning feminism and Whoopi Goldberg in the same sentence.

I just don't think "Whoopi: Feminist" is something worth breaking a nail over.

I didn't see the episode in question, as there was some rather more intellectually stimulating fare going on in the hallway outside my apartment (full disclosure: building maintenance was changing a light bulb) but in general "swearing / cursing" on TV is not abundant enough.

Talk like you would in person. Why be pretentious on camera?

You know, something like this.

Z, you misunderstand poor Bill. He's just "looking out for the folks." LOL! Barf.

Beamish:
"Watching Bill O'Reilly and Whoopi Goldberg on screen simultaneously is the intellectual equivalent of force feeding yourself a dirty diaper. There's just no redemption there."

ROTFLMAO!!! Not even for glory, if you get my drift. :-)

Z said...

Sue, "anything goes .." is right. that's my point.
I'm old fashioned. Women fight for feminism so they can slam a guy who addresses them respectfully and swear in the doing on national television?

Beamish, I know I'm more traditional than you are, hey, I'm OLDER than you are! I just don't think it HELPS society, or women, that women are as course and talk about the things, ON AIR, like they do on THE VIEW, for example...and swear at a guy who has manners.
Ya, I've seen that blow-out of O'Reilly years ago; he was ALWAYS all ego, apparently.

Jingo, barf is right :-)
I mean, he DOES do some good things, especially revealing pedophiles, etc. (I forget the case, maybe somebody can help me here with it, if you know what I'm talking about!?)...but, in general, my GOSH, what an EGO.

Whoopie played a 'magical negro' character in Star Trek: The Next Generation. She was, Guinan, an alien to whom everyone came for advice because she was very wise. I think Whoopie, like many actors, mistake their roles for their real lives. Let me tell you, Whoopie is no Guinan.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Z,

I just don't see Whoopi Goldberg as the ambassadorette of feminism.

Nor do I belittle feminism by presuming everyone with a vagina to be speaking for it.

elmers brother said...

and these women wonder why men are confused?

do I hold the door or don't I?

Yes mam. Excuse me could you call me senator, I worked long and hard for that title.

Msssssss. Goldberg is as relevant as a wet sock, O'reilly isn't far behing in dirty laundry pile. Much of his show is titillation.

Z said...

Elbro, I don't buy that; THE VIEW is popular and what those women say is applauded wildly.......yes, they are relevant...it's the only politics some women ever get, you know that.

Beamish...ditto with the above.
Re Feminism, it's what's hurting so badly a society of kids; equal pay for equal work is as far as I go...not what feminism pushes now.
Open my car door, etc. I like that...
Women are finally starting to see the hole the group NOW dug for them ...even Friedan is apologetic for the damage caused...and it appears they're starting to dig themselves out.
Women ARE different than men....viva la difference.

I never said Whoopi speaks for all of ANYBODY, I said that it's a shame that women feel free to slam a guy who shows respect and swear in the doing on public television, that's all.

sue said...

Z - I think there is a little more to feminism than that.

Z said...

Sue, you mean other than equal pay for equal work? That's really the only part I admire and respect.
Even Tammy Bruce, ex liberal and past president of NOW in Los Angeles has a Conservative talkshow now. She was a total lib, but she saw the hypocrisy of that group and other liberal groups, to hear her say it, and now veers Right.

What other points about feminism do you admire? Huh! I Googled "Betty Freidan regrets" and, somehow, this book popped up as the only hit! I think it perfectly explains how I feel, and many other women, too:

Sue, is it a feminist movement, or an anti male movement. I think it is, and was, an anti male movement.

Locking out little boys kind've proves that doesn't it? Not to mention that teaching young girls it's ok to lock them out.

I never bought into it, and always liked the gentlemanly overtures of politeness and still do. It sure didn't drain me of my own sense of self as a person. Only I can do that.

Being treated like a lady mattered. Furthermore, manners are a civilized behavior, and it's women who set the tone for civility, like it or not.

So now, we have sexual harassment laws, hostile work environment regs. in the workplace, instead of manners, which many women chose to discard themselves, and then at the same time demanded special treatment, and laws.

We were treated as special because we were women. That didn't mean subjugated, it meant respect.
But like so much in life we all have to earn respect, something which is sorely lacking today.

Sure there are men who are clods, but there are women who are shrews. There's plenty of criticism to go around, don't you think?

There has always been a battle of the sexes. And that's because men and women are hardwired differently. All the feminist movement did was create more barriers, and daycare centers IMO.

Oooo....YOu got me on that one, didn't you, Pris.

For how long in our nation's history have men had exclusive clubs, only recently to allow women to be members.

I believe you are interjecting your own view of the matter into mine. You have no idea what I believe. But then that's the Conservative way - pushy pushy.

Anonymous said...

I don't care if men have exclusive clubs. They're free to do so if they wish, or they should be.
Women can do the same thing if they choose can't they?

Mr. Pris used to go hunting with the guys, so what? It was OK with me.

You're right that I did make a judgement about your example of the children. But, most of what I said was meant in a broader sense.

Of course I interjected my opinion, that's what we do here, isn't it?

Z,

I call myself a "militant masculinist" in mostly parody of feminism, because 99% of it is hokey bullshit. I still however believe men deserve credit for inventing the dishwashers, microwave ovens, and washing machines that make "feminism" possible. I'm kidding :P

How equal does a "feminist" want to be?

Will she step up and take a punch in the face like a man?

Will she support the decision of say, a man who doesn't want to be a father and walks away from his pregnant mate?

Suppose a man wants to stay home and raise his kids while his wife works long hours in a coal mine?

Don't get me wrong, I believe whole-heartedly in women's rights. But the work of liberation is mostly complete in Western society.

There's still forced abortions in China. There's still disenfranchisement in Islamic societies. There's still all manner of abuses towards women everywhere BUT here.

One of the baddest women in the world is a highly decorated A-10 pilot that whipped all manner of ass in the Iraq War.

Whoopi Goldberg, feminist? GTFOOH!

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

I never said Whoopi speaks for all of ANYBODY, I said that it's a shame that women feel free to slam a guy who shows respect and swear in the doing on public television, that's all.

Miss Goldberg could have gotten across what I think her point was by responding with "Massa O'Reilly."

O'Reilly calls on guests on his show by their first name all the time. He was likely making a point to call her "Miss Goldberg" to show impersonalization. They're not friends, and he likely wanted to stress that.

She wasn't making a statement for feminism. If anything, she was making a statement for Whoopi Goldbergism.

Neither one of them were or are fair to each other. This isn't a gender conflict. It's a bloviation contest.

I don't think it's putting women behind to help a man who keeps a household on its feet. It's important to support the bread winner and give confidence and support to the children.
What the heck can a girl NOT do these days?

And, Sue, why do you have to go here:? "But then that's the Conservative way - pushy pushy." We don't need insults here. What PUSHINESS? I wish Conservatives were much more pushy; maybe then we'd stand up to the stimulus package, the healthcare plan and everything else we need to sit back and take time to figure out, NOT rush into.
And why SHOULD men's clubs welcome women? Are they welcome at quilting bees? Why become a victim? Start as woman's club.

beamish, to the contrary, she was there to make amends and O'Reilly LOVES looking like the GREAT BRIDGE BUILDER...Whoopi'd walked off THE VIEW when hew as there, remember? This was ALL about "see what friends we are?"

Women can do anything they please..militancy is only setting little girls BACK: they're angry and resentful by the time they're 12, for pete's sake. Let them blossom, let them respect and admire men, what the hell's wrong with THAT?

good list of male presidents :-)

Elbro..don't underestimate the power of shows like that. As I said, it's the ONLY POLITICS some women ever get. feminism is mostly anti male at this point.

I work with men whose ex wives left them (some for other men) and the judge gives them half of what the guy makes plus their retirement. One guys ex wife is going to make more then he does between his salary, her salary and the entitlements, yet she was the one who left the marriage because at 40+ she decided she wanted to have a child.

Then there's the fact that more women are graduatiing from college then men and they can't find a spouse...or that boys are neglected in public schools now.

elmers brother said...

and you want the dopes on our side?

I don't want dopes to vote who think it's cute to support a nasty person like Beyhar's politics because she makes it so convincing that all Republicans have horns. :-) I want people to get all the information, and real information.

Elbro...so much is anti-male right now...have you seen commercials where the dad is portrayed as a jerk ..little kids rolling their eyes at him, etc. I saw a new one just today "Oh, DAD>........." the implication being he's a total worthless nothing (that guy who's SUPPORTING THEM). I don't know what's up behind that but it's not Conservatives with traditional values making those commercials.
It's a very dangerous situation for society, in my opinion.

They've done studies where baby girls go to DOLLS and little boys go to TRUCKS way before anybody's characterized feminine vs masculine to them...but we've got feminists painting little girls' rooms blue so they'll be more like boys...admittedly doing so! stupid

My point exactly Z. I hate Clintons cackle...her laugh sends chills up my spine. When Barry 0 talks with his hissy "s" lisp...I want to sucker punch him in the mouth to change his speech patterns!

Palin...Yep...you betcha...so what? I think she interjects those phrases in lieu of...some very salty language that I know this woman is capable of. When she does a "Golly Gee"...I know she's probably thinking GDit.

Look...in my mind she's a very tough "broad". And there will be no mistaking her meaning or intent.

My dream team in 2012....maybe Palin / West...maybe Rubio / West? Marco is a dream come true. With West on the ticket...he will definitely outline the shit we no longer have to take from mudslimes. The man is a war hero...and he's seen enough of "peaceful" islam that he knows where we should point our guns.

West:

A new Patton? Take a look at the bravery of this man...

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star; Meritorious Service Medal; (two Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Commendation Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters, one Valor Device); Army Achievement Medal (one Oak Leaf Cluster); Valorous Unit Award; Air Assault Badge and the Parachutist Badge. In addition, he has been awarded the following service medals and ribbons: National Defense Service Medal (with bronze star device); Southwest Asia Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Army Overseas Service Ribbon (multiple awards); Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal W/Palm Tree and Kuwait Liberation Medal.

Me....I'm not fit to shine this mans boots.

Do we have the guts to elect a man who will take the call to...call islam out? Cair out?

RUBIO/WEST in 2012.

The pundits are already saying Rubio's VP material for 2012, I say 'why, is he inexperienced?' Who could be more inexperienced than OBAMA?

As an aside...I just read that Joyce Kaufman turned down West's offer for her to become his Chief of Staff. Her radio show here in SFla....got this man elected. He's been on her radio show for months on end...deriding that freak Ron Klein endlessly.

She turned down the gig....cause she's been getting some seriously threatening phone calls and email.

Just shows ya what the leftists here in Palm Beach County want to do to conservatives cause West won. Violence....as usual.

That's how it is on this blog. I mention a little thing like our Girls' Rule Club - in which we do nothing, and which has no meaning.
Twice a year when they are here we light a candle, say something meaningful and say a prayer.

No one can picture how cute it is to see the little boys pressed up against the door, wondering what is happening - which is nothing.

Harmless. Yet people on this blog turn it into something bad. This is really weird. This is how it is on this blog.

Is there some sort of religious significance to the ritual?

I don't believe in teaching anybody to exclude anybody else, Sue. I guess I'd approach feminism a little differently with girls myself...
however, i do believe men should have their own club if they want it and women can have their own...I wouldn't teach that there's something clandestine enough to keep anybody out of it, though...a kind of 'them against us' doesn't help anything. But I"m glad you all enjoy it, I'm sure it is very cute for you and the girls.

SOrry you feel this blog is the way you describe but I'm kind of getting used to the sweeping insults.
Re the Russians and that piece of paper, let's face it, we were right about Joseph McCarthy, too, and the left won that one to all of our peril which is only just NOW paying off for the Communists who WERE producing films leaning in that direction...the indoctrination's working.... It's astonishing to me to see films I LOVED as a younger person and hadn't recognized as anti American or Anti Christian, EVER so subtly......and sometimes not so subtly..Oh, and anti war..tons of them, just little comments here and there which, today, clang in your brain like an alert "Man, McCarthy was RIGHT!" that "little paper" the Russians feared can definitely have something written on it.

Sue, if you could read your comments from a somewhat objective standpoint, you might see how odd they appear sometimes.

I don't want to think bad of you. I don't NEED to think bad of you. I have liberal friends.
I just think it's odd to exclude boys on the basis of their gonads.
Talk about cultivating resentment.

Maybe it is just a cute thing.

I guess I just have other ways of building up my girls' self-esteem. In fact, I work VERY hard to counteract the competition between the birls and their brother. The more they see men as the enemy, the worse off they are in the future.

As the mother of a very young boy, I can testify that boys are VERY MUCH at a disadvantage today in public school. The attitude is that boys (in general) are ill-mannered, less intelligent, and lacking empathy. If we treat them as inferior, some of them will believe it and we'll have a self-fulfilling prophesy. :(

Again, this has nothing, in my opinion, to do with conservatism, but more to do with teaching our kids to respect and love each other as PEOPLE, regardless of sex, skin color, nationality, etc.

"A MERRY CONSERVATIVE CHRISTMAS?"
As if we're all little robots who only think Conservative thoughts?
And I'm with Jen, I don't think this is a liberal v conservative point, really.

BY the way, it's probably because of Conservatives we can still HAVE Christmas in the public square, even if others are so eager to secularize America.

One more thing; AMerica's about differing opinions. This blog shows a differing opinion to every network, CNN, MSNBC and most films and television, all of which insult the Right every chance they get.

Is it that the left just can't handle any truth than their own? WHY? I'd make a shot about that being unAmerican, but I'd never insult YOU that badly.

Anonymous said...

Sue, I would like to reiterate. This is a place where we come to express our opinions. None of us is immune to criticism or disagreement.

Are we supposed to handle certain ones of us with kid gloves on the premise this person can't withstand disagreement?

I mean, why do we come here in the first place? We come here for conversational discourse. It isn't so much personal as it is, a chance to express our opinions.

I think to attack Z is unfair. She's not responsible for every opinion or disagreement expressed on her blog. In fact she welcomes all comers providing we remain fairly civil.

It's easy to take a parting shot, and not stick around for the rebound. Not exactly sporting, is it? Have it your own way, but blaming Z, is IMO, a low blow.

We're all adults here. We've all had our share of disagreements, and it's not the end of the world, it's to be expected.

As for God, I can't presume to speak for Him. I can say, knowing Z, I don't think she has anything to worry about when it comes to her standing with the Almighty.
