Because they, like the Muslims, are anti-Christ. I'ts probably not any more complex than that.

Not much question about it. The resolution of this issue is going to be significant. Clearly a critical figure last year.

By the way, it's a cultural center, there is already a mosque on the block.

No, I don't agree with them. This issue matters, but what about the recent election and what and who contributed to it in a big way? After all it was only an historic election!

Who energized the electorate all year? Yes, the tea party movement. But add to that what well known figure embraced it, and endorsed conservative candidates, and who's involvement gave it front and center attention?

Sarah Palin, that's who. Whether you like her or not, she's had a major voice in conservative politics, and traveled all over the country to campaign and raise money, for candidates.

So much so, entrenched politicians who thought they had "safe" seats were suddenly not so safe. On both sides of the aisle. The majority leader had to resort to dirty tricks to win, and that's only one example.

When you have a grassroots movement, and an election which turned everything on it's head, and which was unimagined two years ago, and includes a former VP candidate, who was also unheard of a little over two years ago, I'd say that's worthy of a magazine cover, and Sarah Palin earned Person of the Year distinction.

The final choice of Newsweek, is another ridiculous politically correct cop out. It seems as though if they couldn't choose their favored political leader Obama, they were stuck with someone they could at least stomach. They could at least opt to appease.

But a politician who talks about freedom, a smaller government, and loves America? Oh no. They couldn't do that.

Person of the Year has joined the Nobel Peace Prize boosters, It's become as meaningless. Neither matters in terms of importance. This is what happens when agenda means more than reality and objectivity.

This is also what happens when mediocrity is accepted as mainstream.

Pris, you couldn't be more spot on. And the fact that they have the chutzpah to try to get federal funding makes this project even more of an obscenity.

Persons of the Year should be people to admire & look up to, not those who are reprehensible. Another nail in the Nutty Broadcasting Cronies' coffin.

I lean towards the "or not" side of the "like Sarah Palin or not" divide. She's like the song on the radio that you'll hear every hour, whether you want to or not.

Now, I'll vote for anyone against Obama except for Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, or Mike Huckabee. So if she gets the GOP nomination, I'll begrudgingly vote for her.

But I hope a better candidate emerges.

The biggest contrast with the Dems we can have is to take the Presidency seriously. Gloss vs. Dross is just not going to work for me, and Palin is gloss.

"Sarah Palin, that's who."

Pris, did you notice that the "momma grizzlies" got their teeth kicked in? The Tea Party was not all that successful. The general dissatisfaction was the driver and it's going to be with us for some time.

Hi, Dan! so true!

Ducky...if muslims were TRYING to madden Americans, they couldn't do better, could they. There's about as much sensitivity with muslims as NBC, which was obviously just going for ratings. Plenty of "question" about it to most people..
By the way, Ducky, if they're so into "significance", how's about a Tea Party member? THAT has been about 294786928734% more SIGNIFICANT than this jerk.

Pris, great points, especially about how NBC would NEVER pick anyone who the Right champions.

I couldn't agree with you more. ONly it feels like MORE than once an hour. I like what she says but she could say it a little less and YOUBETCHA WINK WINK in a different way.

Ducky, Did you notice how many Palin candidates got elected? You're DREAMING if you think your comments true but good try.

The Tea Party was not all that successful.

What, did the Senate figure out how to pass legislation that requires no funding?

Hitting your stupid comment quota early, aren'tcha Ducky?

If islam ever takes over in the west, i'll grow me a beard and pay to watch them string up liberal scum from tall trees. They need to really experience that multi-culti in all its glory.
