Sunday Faith Blog

Some of us lost a little faith on Tuesday night after the election.  While there was quite a lot of good news, most of us wanted Harry Reid gone.  Most of us wanted Republicans to take the Senate as well as the House.  A lot of us are terribly disappointed at California's results.  But.............

"....let us humbly commit our righteous cause to the great Lord of the universe, who loveth righteousness and hateth iniquity.  And having secured the approbation of our hearts, by a faithful and unwearied discharge of our duty to our country, let us joyfully leave our concerns in the hands of Him who raiseth up and pulleth down the empires and kingdoms of the world as He pleases; and with cheerful submission to His sovereign will, devoutly  say, "Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be on the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the field shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the field, and there shall be no herd in the stalls; yet we will rejoice in the Lord, we will joy in the God of our salvation."
That, from America's own John Hancock.

"No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand, which conducts the affairs of men, more than the people of the United States."   George Washington.

They knew........and we need to remember.
Have a wonderful Sunday.........    God bless you all, and may He continue to bless this great country.

The Hancock quote is especially insightful, Z. Thanks for sharing it!

While I understand the necessity of not forcing people by way of political pressure to "Christianize", it does make me sad that God, as the very Foundation of all governmental authority, seems to have been so marginalized by those who have been in positions of power in our nation in recent years.

It is a privilege to be able to live in a country that has allowed for it's people such freedom of religious and personal conviction. And great privilege comes with a large measure of responsibility.

I do hope and pray that America will remember that nothing "good" exists apart from God.

Hope your Sunday is restful!

Romans 13:1b says, For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

God has a plan, and that plan does include His people.

Nice post Z, while I was disappointed that we only defeated one Reid, keep in mind that we did take one house back and now they are playing defense. Also keep in mind that we're on God's schedule and not the other way around.

I tend to forget that part on a regular basis...

We have men like Marco Rubio-Allen West-who give credit to the Creator-God-
Rubio also - overtly- gives credit to God-his good wife - and his parents and community for his success-
We have strong women like Palin-Bachmann-O'Donnell-et al. who are strong believers in the Word.
Thanks for promoting the historical background of this great Republic..
Hugs-

Yes, sometimes you do have to stand back and just take a breath in order to regroup. You have to have FAITH.

But faith still won't keep Fornicalia from tanking. And I firmly believe now that the state WILL have to tank before people begin to understand the fundamental concept that when parasites outnumber hosts, the host will die and, thusly, so will the parasites.

And it is PAST time to kill some parasites.

Well, Z, we do have the assurance that the evil-doers will not always get away with it:

1 Woe to those who plan iniquity,
to those who plot evil on their beds!
At morning's light they carry it out
because it is in their power to do it.

2 They covet fields and seize them,
and houses, and take them.
They defraud a man of his home,
a fellowman of his inheritance.

3 Therefore, the LORD says:
"I am planning disaster against this people,
from which you cannot save yourselves.
You will no longer walk proudly,
for it will be a time of calamity.
Micah 1:1-3

We'll just keep on trusting Him, and allow Him to take care of business in the grand scheme of things, won't we?

I pray that you are well, and not letting this stuff get to you, too much. :)

P.S.
We do know that He will take care of His own, so we should do nothing but praise Him!

Z, this is a great reminder to us all of our founders deep faith and committment to a free people in this country.

I can't think of a better time to shine the light of truth on these great men and what they gave us.

There are so many in America, who need to know how this country was formed, and the foundation that made all this possible.

There is much wisdom to be gleaned from those who have gone before us, and I can think of no time it's been needed more than now.

Thanks Z,

Pris

Vegas "Also keep in mind that we're on God's schedule and not the other way around." which is why I posted this at all...."let us leave our concerns in the hands of Him"...life's better when we remember that isn't it.

Heather, no, Christianizing isn't up to us, anyway, but do DEChristianize this country is something I feel might be the very thing which DOES set us "apart from God"...and that nothing good, then, WILL exist.

Jan, thanks, I'm good.......and "PRAISE" , indeed..even in the stinkingest of times!

God is sovereign. Man makes decisions for which he will be held accountable.

Both are true and to fall off either side of that argument is just a waste of time.

Ducky, for goodness sake...read it again. He's saying that Americans, of all people, can't deny the goodness that's come to this country from our Creator!!

21 Democrats and 2 "independents" that caucus with Democrats are up for re-election in 2012, there actions over the next 2 years will be dictated by Reid, and they'll be on Obama's coattails if any sort of consistent message is to come from the D-side in 2012.

I can't think of a bigger incompetent I'd prefer to be in charge of Senate Democrats for that.

Me, I'm not really disappointed in this election though of course I wished for more. What we got is great, we just need to keep at it until we bring the whole rotten collection of them down.
