Another SUNDAY Post, Z?

How could I resist? This is a picture of a cow being brought down from the mountains for the winter! I was trying to figure out how fast any self respecting cow would run to escape being dressed like this, but who knows, maybe this one feels as fond of traditions as I am and decided to go with it? I love the thought of these old traditions still being so strong in the German countryside! There's beauty and tradition and goodness in the world, particularly at the harvest time, I think.......good and soothing and promising things to remember. Especially on Sunday.

I never thought a cow could be pretty, but by gosh, this one comes close.

Actually, if you look at the cow's eyes, it looks rather . . . shall we say . . . unenthused.

Cj...trust me.

Ya, shoprat, NOT enthused!!

Pris....Lipstick came to MY mind, too....her being of the animal kingdom reminding me of the more famous animal we've attributed LIPSTICK to lately!

The cow's name is Bessie and I am her publicist. We'd like to have 20% royalties, movie rights, and honoraria.

We also want to protect Bessie from the kinds of ill-suited humor recently attached to Porcine, and it is for that reason we choose not to do lipstick commercials.

I'll call you tomorrow to work out the details.

The sun is a-shining to welcome the day. Hi Ho! Come to the Fair.

The folks are all singing so merry and gay. Hi Ho! Come to the Fair.

All the stalls on the green are as fine as can be
With trinkets and tokens so pretty to see
So it it's come then. maidens and men
To the Fair in the pride of the morning.

So deck yourself out in your finest array
For a Hi Ho! Come to the Fair.

I have to admit, that cow looks downright pretty.

About 12 years ago we were given an old time German bell, that was said to be used in some little German village on a cow, in a situation I suppose, much like the one showing in this photo.

I find it interesting to see the person who gave us the bell was not kidding about the importance of this cow thing.

Cool.
