Remember the debate/bracelet situation? The Sergeant's mother has asked Obama NOT to wear the bracelet but he persists. THIS is the kind of thing his supporters are ignoring and our media's keeping silent to protect their man. And, the mother is a supporter of his! She apparently just didn't want the boy exploited in any way.

I'm hearing this same story from other news sources now, but NONE in the mainstream media.
HOWEVER, one story never says she TOLD OBAMA not to wear the bracelet...just that she'd prefer now that it not be worn so her son isn't exploited...stay tuned. I don't print things that aren't 100%true and I want to get to the bottom of this...thought I had.
STILL..the father ABSOLUTELY doesn't want Obama using the bracelet for anti-war stances, and the guy's FATHER IS deserving of that respect.
RE: OBAMA AND THE MEDIA: I was thinking...why don't we EVER see him smoking a cigarette? I think we've all seen the one shot where a cig is dangling out of the corner of his mouth, right? And THAT IS IT.
NADA ..no other pictures. Odd, isn't it? I ask you: IF John McCain smoked, do you think the media'd publish a picture of him smoking?

I'm not one to look at smoking as some kind of HUGE 'sin', but we all know it's frowned on these days.. "anybody with a brain knows it's not smart to smoke for your health, for others' health", etc etc., we hear everywhere......so, he smokes. He's getting a smokescreen from the media. Can't look STUPID, right? BAD CHOICE, RIGHT?

Z, as much as I'd like to pick on NOBAMA about smoking, he was reportedly a smoker at the beginning of primary season, but was trying hard to quit. He probably was successful or he is now strictly a "closet smoker".
Concerning the bracelet, what a piece of turd he is, and I agree, the McCain people should blast him with it.

Speaking of political correctness, when the sculptor was hired to create the statue of FDR, he was going to include the cigarette, with cigarette holder firmly held between FDR's clenched teeth in that jaunty pose of his.
That is the well recognized and famous visage FDR was known for. Ah, but even though that was part and parcel of FDR it was objected to and eliminated from the statue. Why? Political correctness.
And Z, I know you're not against smoking. I didn't mean to suggest you were. It's just that political correctness makes things important that aren't, and minimizes things that are. It turns everything on it's head, and it drives me crazy.

A very good friend of mine years ago ... Brigade Surgeon ... had a sign on his desk. It read: "WARNING: The Surgeon General has ruled that your complaining about my smoking is dangerous to your health."
Here's a good question for Obama, if the press had any you-know-whats: Mr. Obama, how should the US respond the the illegal seizure of a ship loaded with armaments off the coast of Somalia?
