Isn't it a shame ...

we can no longer believe anything our government tells us?

We’ve been hearing about Defense Sequestration for several months now.  No one is quite sure exactly what it is, or what it means, or even its consequences.  To understand this, we have to begin with the Budget Control Act of 2011.  This federal statute was necessary to bring to a conclusion the US Debt Ceiling Crisis of 2011, which had threatened to lead the US into sovereign default by 3 August 2011.

Mr. Obama signed the act on 2 August 2011.

BCA provides several complex mechanisms to help slow deficit spending by the federal budget.  They are complex because no one in Congress wants us to figure out how worthless these people are.  If anyone demanded a single example of congressional ineptitude, it would have to be the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reductions.  The only words we can use to describe the Super-Committee are, “utter failure.”

Now because the Super-Committee didn't work, Congress intends to cancel defense contracts.  This means, cutting back on defense armaments, and terminating the employment of people who work for defense industries.

We can only shake our heads when we realize that the Budget Control Act doesn’t actually reduce federal debt; it only slows down the existing rate of debt growth.  This is because the Budget Control Act doesn’t actually reduce federal spending in absolute terms; it only reduces the rate of spending increases.

Instead of spending 25% more next year than last, the federal government may only spend … say, 10% more.  In spite of this, the Congressional Budget Office still projects US debt to grow faster than the US economy —most of this is due to the “cost curve” of Obama Care, which the Budget Control Act does not address.

The bottom line is that Americans employed in the Defense Industries will lose their jobs —after the New Year.  At Lockheed Martin alone, 123,000 people are at risk to lose their jobs due to “Defense Sequestration.”

Enter Mr. Sneaky Man: Barack Hussein Obama.

If Lockheed (or any other major defense industry) intends to lay off employees on 2 January 2013, federal law requires affected companies notify their at risk employees sixty days in advance of projected termination dates.  That would be 2 November 2012 … four days in advance of the general election.  Mr. Obama doesn't want these people notified in advance of his bid for reelection.

So Mr. Obama contacted Lockheed and told them not to issue layoff notices, even though federal law requires it.  Obama promised to pay all fines and penalties —with taxpayer money.  Yes, it’s true: reelection is that important to Barack Hussein Obama.

But we aren’t done yet.  According to The Hill, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has threatened to block the Obama administration from reimbursing defense contractors for severance costs.

Right now, though, it looks as if Mr. Obama will get his way.  Defense employees will lose their jobs on 2 January, but without the compliance of defense contractors to notify their employees.  House Armed Services Chairman Buck McKeon (R-CA) called Obama’s tactic politically motivated and illegal … but as with Eric Holder and most other cabinet officials, Mr. Obama doesn't care what lawmakers think.  Or “we the people,” either.

By the way, we aren't just talking about 123,000 Lockheed Martin employees.

According to the Aerospace Industries Association, as many as 956,181 small business jobs nationwide are among those at risk under the Defense Sequestration provision of the Budget Control Act of 2011.

Isn’t it amazing how Mr. Sneaky Man can find clever ways to secure reelection, but is unable to find ways to make America prosperous again?

American government is getting worse by the day.

Obama has always demonstrated that he doesn't care about people. All he is interested in is an ideology and his own personal power.

He is the worst President in my lifetime, and probably the worst in American history. He is not your Daddy's Democrat.

He is your Daddy's Marxist.

He has also demonstrated he cares nothing for the laws of this nation.

He is a dirty Chicago pol, and nothing else matters.

I believe Americans are waking up to the reality of the Obama presidency and its consequences. I just don’t know if enough people are waking up in time for the election. And then we have to contend with the thousands of dead Democrats who will be voting for Obama. Why the founding fathers put general elections so close to Halloween is beyond my understanding. But let us hope Romney wins this election. I don’t want to see another one million people out of work at the beginning of the New Year; I don’t want to see that smirk on Obama’s face.

This reported [attempt] to undermine our defence and circumvent the law should be getting more notoriety! I wonder what B.O.'s union supporters think of this?

If we are lucky, it will all end soon

But will there be enough of these people to do the trick ?

Lets hope so.

"If anyone demanded a single example of congressional ineptitude, it would have to be the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reductions."

That was an absolutely disgrceful thing to do. Is that why we send those people to Washington? I don't think so. Yet, we keep sending the same or similar idiots back there time after time.

"THE GOP HAS BULLETS AIMED AT YOU"

Have you all heard this is what Biden said in Nevada to a crowd of nutty Biden-followers?

Imagine if a Republican had said anything remotely like that. Only a die-hard dope Democrat could hear that and not think this guy's over the top. What a stupid way to make his ridiculous points.

It's "Not optimal," one might say....which Obama DID when discussing the death of AN AMBASSADOR and THREE AMERICAN PATRIOTS.

How'd you all like THAT?

Bob, he certainly is NOT a Tip O'Neil...man.

SF...I agree.

Sam...I believe they're waking up, too, I really do; the polls are showing that, anyway. I've said for a year now I fear less that Romney won't make his case and far FAR FAR MORE about democrat voter fraud.
Romney has to win big to overcome that...this isn't the America we grew up in where only a VERY tiny percentage of people would even CONSIDER cheating in voting.

Remember that video I had a few days ago of two Democrat registrars giggling about how they can vote a few times because "nobody will know!?"

JB...The unions are a puzzlement...their actions are odd.

Darth, I HOPE it will end sooN!

ConsOn Fire....we sure do.

How can anyone ignore this?

On September 11, 2012 – the day Stevens and three other Americans were killed – the ambassador signed a three-page cable, labeled “sensitive,” in which he noted “growing problems with security” in Benghazi and “growing frustration” on the part of local residents with Libyan police and security forces. These forces the ambassador characterized as “too weak to keep the country secure.”

In the document, Stevens also cited a meeting he had held two days earlier with local militia commanders. These men boasted to Stevens of exercising “control” over the Libyan Armed Forces, and threatened that if the U.S.-backed candidate for prime minister were to prevail in Libya’s internal political jockeying, “they would not continue to guarantee security in Benghazi.”

SoCalGal...I could cry when I think of what STevens thought when he knew he was going to die; his country let us down...WE let him down because our president represents US.
I feel largely the same about Israel; I'm embarrassed for how we've humiliated Netanyahu, I really am.
Or how we got rid of the Churchill bust/gift from England and the gifts Obama gave the queen (HIS Speeches!??)
Or how our pres accepted a Nobel Prize for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING... how humiliating that he didn't say "Thank you, but I hope to do great things for my country and the world in the next four years and so I hope you keep that award for my country for later on..."

etc etc etc

Well you have to admit that the "Peace" prize he accepted ( without knowing, or assuming that he wouldn't use our military for anything..) has taken on even stranger meaning, wouldn't you?

I mean, in so far as he personally gets to play big shot, toy soldier each day by picking out the days drone targets? Maybe that's why he doesn't read his daily intel briefings?

Cause he figures he'll make them up himself with real time video games? Think.."Clear & Present Danger" if you will.

So...they claim that this BS artist has used more deadly drones that Bush did? Killed more animal goat eaters than Bush did? I wonder how many of these turds we actually killed with Bush?

Either way...OBullshit...is a bigger "killer" than Bush.

Hey, a key element of the founding father of gay marriage's economic proposals are a 5% reduction of non-security discretionary spending. This is real savings. Such a cut will reduce the $1.40 the federal government spends for every dollar it takes in to spending $1.39 and three tenths of a penny for every dollar it takes in.

Z, YOu now I've changed my view a little about the media. I used to think they knew what obama was but they promoted him anyway since they are also fascist imbecile communists as well but now I think I'm pretty well convinced those media A*s are all so stunningly stupid that they actually thought their boy was a genius.

After 4 years and nothing and his oratory skills (Which was their primary litmus test in 08 and since) have gotten so bad, I'm thinking they are finally realizing they've been backing an imbecile POS. Like some of the rest of us knew a year before the 08 election.

And a bunch of them ARE turning on the imbecile. The Orlando something or other, a decently large paper in Florida is backing Romney. bill mahr is even critiquing the boy genius, Jon Stewart is giving the imbecile crap of the Libya thing, etc. Hell Lindsey Lohan is endorsing Romney, That's Gotta Hurt obama!

It does seem like a fair amount of the 'media' are now starting to play CYA so they don't look so blindlingly stupid when obama loses in a landslide and insiders start coming out revealing what a moron obama is. sitting like a little child in oval office meetings, not saying a word, because a teleprompter isn't there telling him what to say, and sure as hell, he's not going to ad-lib his way into an adult conversation.
