Sunday Faith Post

"Therefore, we must choose between facing our feelings or facing the facts of God.  Our feelings may be as uncertain and changing as the sea or shifting sand.  God's facts, however, are certain as the Rock of Ages Himself -- "Jesus Christ...the same yesterday and today and forever."  (Hebrews 13:8)...

From Streams in the Dessert, the best devotional I have ever found.

Have a fantastic Sunday.......

I loves me some Avalon.
Seen them a couple times.
My niece who is my adopted daughter name her daughter Avalon after the group.

TS/WS: You'd have to be God Himself to have that kind of "processing power" to make those decisions.
Leaving out Obama, Reid, Pelosi...
Where do you stop?

TS/WS...what?

Ed...I love the STREAMS IN THE DESSERT treatment of faith vs feelings.
Neat that you like Avalon. I have to admit to not being that up on popular praise bands, only knowing a few of them. I sing a lot of that stuff but don't know who did what song.

Z: I had to work on what TS was saying.
Talking about what would we change in our past, if we could, without sacrificing knowledge of people we currently know.

Ed, Thanks..I got it, too, after a couple of readings......I just don't know why it's on this post.

The post's sentiment, from that devotional, is SO important. SO many of the faithful go by feelings; and it's so dangerous and so sad...and it's like having faith without a net, come to think of it! Right?

I like a look of agony,
Because I know it ’s true;
Men do not sham convulsion,
Nor simulate a throe.

The eyes glaze once, and that is death.
Impossible to feign
The beads upon the forehead
By homely anguish strung.

Z - That is one of my favorite hymns. The accompanying video is beautiful with beautiful scripture also.

It is so encouraging to know that He is the same - yesterday, today and forever.

Thanks.

Hope your Sunday is good.

FT, I guess you're alluding to facts and feelings...Emily Dickinson is certainly right about death's look, etc. You can't make THAT up.
But it's so important to know that we won't always feel quite so faithful, quite so carefree in God's love; it's human nature to go by our feelings of disappointment or frustration or other emotions that come to us in our lives. It trips us up. Some of us forget God is not our butler :-)

Sue, I was really lucky to run across that rendition of the song, I think...I'd not heard it before, but Googled it at youTube and, when I heard it, loved it.
I'm glad you appreciated the post and the music. It is important, isn't it...particularly during hard times like these!
