WHY A BLACK MAN (ANY thinking man?) CAN'T VOTE FOR OBAMA and WILL VOTE FOR McCAIN

First: Please click on this site and see the Obama Strategy video. If you can STILL vote for Obama after that, God help us all. If you already did vote and now see your mistake, you owe America a big apology:

*****THIS WAS ATTRIBUTED TO THOMAS SOWELL WHEN IT WAS SENT TO ME BUT IT IS NOT BY HIM. HE DOES, HOWEVER, ENDORSE McCAIN.

Senator John McCain could never convince me to vote for him. Only Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama can cause me to vote for McCain.

After long and serious thought, I have decided to endorse Senator John McCain for President.

I have always voted for the person and have not voted for anyone because some political party was telling me who I should vote for. We all know the choices by now and, that said, I do believe that the process of selecting a chief executive is deeply flawed. The words "money" and "special interests" come to mind, among many others.

Here's the way I see it: Barack Obama, you are a fine public speaker. You are also an extremely liberal Senator from the State of Illinois , which has a long and rich history of political corruption of the first magnitude. You are indeed a child of that system.

You have finally insulted my intelligence far beyond my capacity to tolerate your insults. It has nothing at all to do with your skin color. As a matter of fact, it would be so COOL to finally have an African-American for President. What a great statement that would be to the entire world that we are indeed the greatest country on earth!

But, unfortunately, General Colin Powell is not running, and YOU are NOT the man for this job !

Barack baby, you want me to believe that you have never heard the sermons of your own pastor, the Right Reverend "God Damn America" Jeremiah Wright. It is a matter of record that this has been your church for over 20 years. It is a matter of record that you were married there by this very pastor, and that your children were baptized there.

The good Reverend saw fit to visit Khadafy in Libya with you and to give a lifetime achievement award to Louis Farrakhan, of all people.

We have all now seen excerpts of his sermons all over the airwaves by now. And you have publicly stated that this man IS your "spiritual mentor." BUT, your pastor is NOT the reason I am NOT voting for you. His words were disturbing enough, but it is your own HUGE church congregation, seen jumping, hooting and howling to his words in the background that disturb me the most. And please don't tell me you attended church there and never once heard a "discouraging word" in the 20 years you attended there. Don't tell me, that in addition to the good reverend, that you are now not having anything to do with all those other people seen hooting and howling out in the audience in the background of his fiery tirades. Even Oprah Winfrey got disgusted and walked out on your campaign. I am no Oprah fan, but still she did the right thing.

Now you look me in the eye and ask me to believe that you never heard such language in all the years you attend ed there! This is like me telling you that I attended dozens of Klan rallies and never once heard the "N" word. Yep. And Bill Clinton "did not inhale".

Yes, Mr. Obama, we all have friends who have said stupid things that embarrassed us, but NOW you have asked me to believe something that is so incredibly stupid that you are telling me that I am just stupid enough to believe you. THAT is the main reason that I will never vote for you.

I am deeply sorry, that in a country teeming with enormously talented African Americans who would make a good President, that the political system has chosen YOU. You are a pathetic and plastic excuse for an American, who will not even salute the Flag during the Pledge of Allegiance.

God forbid you ever get near the Oval Office.

Which leaves us with Senator John McCain.

John, you are a flawed man. You are a bit old, a bit looney, and you have a notoriously bad temper. This perfectly qualifies you, in my humble opinion, to lead us for the next eight years.. I WANT your trembling hand on the nuclear button.

Think about it. We have Kim Jong IL, Chavez and Ahmadenijad all running around like lunatics, threatening America and threatening to plunge the world into nuclear Armageddon. We have Putin and the Chinese blustering and rattling their sabers at us. I want John McCain in the Oval Office and I want him to be really ticked off at all these other nut jobs around the planet.

John, once you are elected, I want you to go into the Oval Office and throw one of your perfect FITS. Jump up and down and throw something through a plate glass window. Rip the drapes down and foam at the mouth a bit. And I want the whole thing on camera so that Ahmadinejad can see it. I want ALL of these "world leaders" to lay awake at night and to break out in a cold sweat every time they think of messing with the United States of America .

I want the nuclear button sitting right next to the alarm clock on your night stand. I want pictures of this to be sent to Iran , Russia , China , Venezuela , Cuba , Libya , Syria , Pakistan , and those other dopes in the sheets, the Saudis.

On the domestic front, poor John did try and reach across the aisle to the opposition in a desperate effort to compromise and to get the Congress to do something. You may not agree with his efforts, but at least he TRIED . For all his efforts, all he got handed to him was his head in a basket. The liberals are ticked at him and the conservatives are ticked at him. Just my kinda guy.

Finally. John McCain knows on a most personal level what it is to suffer horrible torture for years and to see others die, right in front of you, for their love of America . When you ask him about it, he will tell you that what he did was "nothing special. " Even more incredibly, he states that ANY American who truly loves his country would do exactly the same as he did in that situation... You and I will have a hard time believing that, but the real point is that John McCain believes that about the "average American," and that, dear friends and neighbors, is why I will cast my one poor ballot for on election day for John McCain -- warts and all."

Who could possibly say it better? THIS is my DAY BEFORE ELECTION GIFT TO AMERICA....

Thomas Sowell, the black man I would vote for.

Why can't he run for president????

well said, as usual by mr. sowell. his reason for not voting for b.o. is my same reason. barry is a liar and refuses to concede ANY mistakens he made in past choices.

His description of how McCain is perfectly peculiarly qualified to scare the wits out of our enemies is hilariously true! Probably the last laugh I'll get about politics for a while. Great post.

Z said...

Isn't that the best part, cj?

McCAIN SCARES THE HELL OUT OF OTHER COUNTRIES!? I HOPE so. I LOVED that! But, we have libs who, I guess, feel China or India or Russia might be a better world superpower than we've been, huh? Let's see...how many times has Russia or India or China helped with billions of dollars for tsunami damage or fighting other peoples' wars? (oh, NONE? that's right)

ABC Radio found the one soldier who wants CHANGE this morning on their news blip. I had to laugh. 73% of soldiers want mcCain but ABC finds a guy who doesn't and only gives him airplay...

I feel like NAZI Germany has invaded America somehow (kids singing praises to THE ONE as they did Hitler, a civilian force..WHAT?)......with a Pravda media from Russia and THE ONE from Russia, too...Rasputin, Jr.

CJ said...

Yup with Obama in we're going Nazi. If Obama loses I think we might have a brown-shirt type uprising too.

America is gone, has been for years really. God is judging us and He'll judge us whether we get Obama or McCain. I think it will be Obama myself.

I'm still laughing at that image of McCain in the oval office though.

Beyond that we have the joy of the Lord no matter what happens.

Thanks Z, Thomas Sowell is a true thinker and transcends race, class, political correctness, you name it. He is an American treasure and personifies what an American is.

He became a professor, and rose in the ranks of that profession before affirmative action.

According to him, after affirmative action became law, he was perceived differently, and no longer received the kind of respect he had before.

He was then considered by newer students, as one who benefitted from "a hand up", which he resented mightily.

This aside, he has contributed to the national debate as few have, with logic and a sense of America and her people that should be envied by all in his profession of Academe.

Thanks for that background, Pris. I've always been a great fan of his.
Actually, I was just thinking my title is bad....this isn't why a BLACK MAN can't vote for Obama, this is why a THINKING, America-LOVING, INTELLIGENT and ARTICULATE MAN will vote for McCain.

Hi, Z!

I read this somewhere else and it's a great piece. I'm glad you posted it!

Yep, I like Thomas Sowell and would vote for him too. But we know that if Obama loses the libs will all say we're racists. It's an absolute given! But I'm willing to put up with that. :)

Thomas Sowell is clearly a member of our nation’s brain trust. It is equally obvious that Daffy is not. Dr. Sowell (a former Marine) highlights a danger confronting our country; that is that we are voting against political candidates, more than we are for them. Both parties pursue a dangerous path to socialism; everyone has forgotten the purpose of our Constitution (to limit power), and our states have become whores for federal money. Think about the long-range consequences of this. Try to imagine that in 100 years, none of us would recognize the United States of America.

If we cannot vote FOR a candidate, then collectively we must be doing a terrible job selecting members of the House and Senate. By the way, this political season has ruined my relationship with the family pets.

mustang, you shouldn't buy liberal pets.

Law and Order Teacher said...

I agree with Mustang on one point. Both parties have been extremely wrong on spending. I like Bush and I think he has done a good job on many counts. My major disappoint is that he didn't veto enough of the profligate spending bills sent him by by the congress. I only wish that he had held the line on spending. McCain has done as well as he possibly could. I hope it is enough.

Are you sure Sowell is the author of this? It doesn't sound like his style, and I couldn't find any connection to Sowell with an internet search.

You may want to go to www.nationalreview.com and check out the Uncommon Knowledge section where Peter Robinson does a five-part interview (about 8 minutes each) with Dr. Sowell. Sowell cracks up Robinson when he tells him he is voting for McCain because he prefers disaster to catastrophe.

The next most memorable line is when he contrasts Obama to the Clintons. He describes Obama as a liberal idealogue while the Clintons are too ambitious to be true liberal idealogues. As Sowell phrases it, "The Clintons one saving grace is they have no principles."

psi bond. Sowell is endorsing McCain.

thanks. And I like your idea for McCain there. thanks.

Z said...

By Thomas Sowell in his endorsement of McCain: "At a time like this, we do not have the luxury of waiting for our ideal candidate or of indulging our emotions by voting for some third party candidate to show our displeasure-- at the cost of putting someone in the White House who is not up to the job.

Senator John McCain has been criticized in this column many times. But, when all is said and done, Senator McCain has not spent decades aiding and abetting people who hate America."

Thanks, Psi bond..I will adjust my title; This apparently is not Sowell's...he actually doesn't quite have this sense of humor so the excellent reference/friend who sent it to me, and I, should have known.

I like the idea of your checking up on my pieces..glad you take my site so seriously. I'm very proud that I never purposefully or knowingly publish anything that isn't truthful. And I don't intend to start now.

A good politician triumphs by adapting to the times and taking advantage of opportunities as they come. A great politician anticipates openings others don't see and creates possibilities that were not there before....[T]here seems to be an inexorable quality to Obama's rise this year because he is the first truly 21st-century figure in American politics. He is the innovator who has set the standard for the next political era.

The truth is: we are in a war for the future of human civilization. We are fighting for a world in which destructive technology need not collide with fierce religious fundamentalism to annihilate us all; for a world in which dialogue across cultures and religions and regions (even within America) is essential if we are to survive. We need to win the argument in the developing world; we need to reach out and persuade the Muslim middle - especially the next generation in Iran and Iraq and Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and Turkey and Western Europe - about the virtues of democracy and constitutionalism. We cannot do that if we trash our own values ourselves. It is self-defeating. We cannot be a beacon to the world until we have reformed ourselves. In this war, we are also fighting for an America that does not lose its soul in fighting our enemy. Just because we are fighting evil does not mean we cannot ourselves succumb to it. That is what my Christian faith teaches me - that no nation has a monopoly on virtue, and that every generation has to earn its own integrity. I fear and believe we have given away far too much - and that, while this loss is permanent, it can nonetheless be mitigated by a new start, a new direction, a new statement that the America the world once knew and loved is back.

It will not be easy. The world will soon remember why it resents America as well as loves it. But until this unlikely fellow with the funny ears and strange name and exotic biography emerged on the scene, I had begun to wonder if it was possible at all. I had almost given up hope, and he helped restore it. That is what is stirring out there; and although you are welcome to mock me for it, I remain unashamed. As someone once said, in the unlikely story of America, there is never anything false about hope. Obama, moreover, seems to bring out the best in people, and the calmest, and the sanest. He seems to me to have a blend of Midwestern good sense, an intuitive understanding of the developing world that is as much our future now as theirs', an analyst's mind and a poet's tongue. He is human. He is flawed. He will make mistakes. His passivity and ambiguity are sometimes weaknesses as well as strengths.

But there is something about his rise that is also supremely American, a reminder of why so many of us love this country so passionately and are filled with such grief at what has been done to it and in its name. I endorse Barack Obama because I will not give up on America, because I believe in America, and in her constitution and decency and character and strength.

And the world needs that America now as much as it ever has. Can we start that healing, that rebirth, tomorrow?

Yes. We. Can.

psi bond, I won't take further insults, so know that you'll be typing and copy/pasting and being deleted again if you continue. I've warned you before and you've behaved, then gone abusive again...I'm done.

I'm SICK and tired of it. I've humored you, I've had emails privately asking why I put up with it, and I welcomed other opinions but you've gone way too far by now. You're done.

E.J. Dionne...Sullivan..Who cares? I don't admire either of them.

What you haven't learned is that some Americans don't give a damn what Europe thinks. You might ask Europeans how much they'll enjoy paying even higher taxes to start covering military spending they'll have to invest in now that they won't have America jumping in for them being kind enough to fight their wars.
Also, ask how much they'll miss our millions for tsunami relief, etc.

This country will be over and I'm sure you voted for that.

Congratulations. I have only loathing and scorn for you and never liked you at FPM , either, but I let you stay. Not anymore. Grow up, be a big boy, get a sense of humor, stop insulting or I'll delete (as well as my friend who has the key to my blog as well) every single post.

The Leftist blogs don't put up with conservative comments and I'm getting to see why.

By the way...it's not a 'great politician' who attracts 18 year olds with free colllege, the middle class with free healthcare, the elderly with lies his opponent will take social security away, it's not a great politician who has fans like Farrakhan or Ayers.

Obama is no 'great politician'.. even you should realize that. How pathetic.

That’s not nearly enough, "TOM". McCain should sprinkle a few nukes on disposable nations to show he’s not bluffing. We need that to become the envy of the world again.

BTW, it's a hoax that Sowell is the author of this absurd argument, Z.

I realize that my opinion concerning whether Obama is a great politician is different than yours. Behaving as though your assessment of him is objectively true is pathetic.
