A Friend's thoughts on America and Islam..and Obama's church service (you won't believe this!)

I received this email today and wanted to share it with you. I'd forwarded our friend and fellow blogger Mustang's post HERE and asked her to respond since she and I'd been talking about Islam and Christianity in America:

"You know, I took a look at some verses from th Qur'an and I saw some pretty disturbing things. I do believe that we should remain suspect and vigilant about Islam in America. (Not to mention around the world) My experience with Muslims as I was growing up was very different from what I know of Muslims today. The Muslims I grew up around were "Black Muslims". They were based in a community steeped in Christianity. Their voice was small and they were tamped down at every turn because they preached racism. BUT, they were never violent. The truth is, their main reason for being was to bring young black men back to their responsibilities. To teach them the importance of integrity, manhood, fatherhood and leadership. Problem is, they were going about it in the wrong way. It's as if they took Islam and started making up their own rules. I don't know ... just didn't work, especially when Malcolm X discovered that you didn't have to be black to be a good Muslim. That started a crack in the black muslim movement that could NOT be repaired.
Today's Muslim is a whole different story. I have heard it said that you can't pick and choose how you interpret "freedom of religion" in America. This may be true, but, if a particular religion infringes on other freedoms provided by the Constitution I think it is important to stop and take a good look at what is going on. After all we would not allow any religion to sexually abuse a child ... or would we (i.e., Warren Jeffers). I believe that freedom of one person's religion ends when they bring it to my doorstep and demand that I ascribe to their beliefs. According to Islam, that is their goal -- that I MUST ascribe to their beliefs. THIS is a problem. And, I don't think that the tenets of Islam recognize the Constitution and therefore ... maybe ... it should not be considered a ... religion ... I don't know Z ... it's so hard to find a real and workable answer ... but I do believe that Islam can become -- scratch that -- IS BECOMING a big problem for America. I think that we need to look for a solution that works for AMERICA not one that works for Islam. The PC folks have lost their minds and are trying to take the rest of us with them. If Islam is not compatible with America and the Constitution then Muslims need to go to a country where it works for them. My compassion for anyone's cause stops when you try to stop me from worshiping the Lord."

The quote in red particularly seems cogent and important these days.........When America started slipping, we started forgetting to put our country first, to err on OUR side (as I so often bemoan).... DO we have a chance if we don't start heeding that sentence?
BY the way,
I just saw our friend Cube's blog where she has THIS ARTICLE which cracked me UP! You all saw that the Obamas went to church this last Sunday for the third time since the election, right? Well, it looks like they went to hear a Muslim speaker! Man, you can't make this stuff UP! Oh...and no, the media didn't tell America about that...oh, no..........how would THAT look? :-)

About that speaker at the church BHO attended last Sunday....Supposedly, BHO left before the speaker gave his presentation. I emphasize the word "supposedly" as I haven't had time to run down the story. Maybe someone here could check on that?

Me too, but right now most of our leaders and elites are looking for what works for islam and screw the rest of us.

The detractors of America state that we are not exceptional. And therefore do not deserve protection from our enemies. Thank God there are enough patriots who believe otherwise.

Check out the activities of the "Army of God". They are quite active in less enlightened parts of the nation like Texas and Oklahoma but it's a trend that may be growing.

They really are a cute bunch.

Always, if you hear, let us know, okay? Thanks... I'd have thought even THIS president wouldn't be so tone deaf to constituents to sit through a muslims at St John's, but he's shown such insensitivity so often it's hard to tell.
Maybe he could have picked another, less controversial SUnday so this situation didn't even have to be commented upon?

MK: It sure seems that way..."How to squeeze muslims in here and make them feel real good without raising too much acknowledgment of their being here" seems to be the mantra in all countries now. The Imam of the Mosque in NYC was caught off the air saying this is the BIG PUSH...sadly, only Pamela Geller's discussing it, the msm won't touch it.

Opus...thank God, indeed.

Ducky, no real Christian demands that anybody kills anybody...."Thou shalt kill anybody who's killing babies" isn't in Scripture.
real muslims follow their koran which does call for the killing of infidels....what point are you trying to make here?
Please check out the photos on the Army of GOd page I just saw for the first time (I'd never heard the name of the grp, frankly)...
The pictures of murdered babies is tough to take but might wake you up to "a woman's choice" and how even more hideous that killing is... maybe?

Am half heartedly listening to Obama at the UN(it's torture)...he just spoke of a "free media which holds a government accountable.."
Yes, in a Democratic country, that does work; He just showed us what we've become. Is he that clueless that he doesn't see we do NOT have a free media anymore, that they're all just following him like sheep?
Or is he flattering FOX...?

Obama at the UN again...Only he'd use South Africa as a place where wonderful things have happened, setting an example for the world.
Yes! Nobody who lived there before can go BACK there for fear of murder or other mayhem...Even Johannesburg is a nightmare where one can't walk the streets, especially at night. Good Job, Mandela! (not)

People who are not interested in freedom and the freedom of others should just get the hell out of America.

I wasn't interested in French socialism so I got out.

There are plenty of countries to welcome them.

I knew even before I clicked the comment link for this post that Ducky would already have said something mind numbingly stupid.

"Make war on the infidels living in your neighboorhood (9:123)"

Well...it tells me that they know nothing about our history, do they? Cause if they did...they'd know most of us are willing to play...Cowboys and muslims".

Karen K said...

His thoughts are right on, Z.

We need to stop treating Islam as a religion when it's really a political one.

Z said...

Oh, ANonymous! The days of "Cowboys and ANYBODY" are over ....we have no cowboys left, we have wimps. And, OH, how UN PC of you to even SUGGEST we'd fight a scourge we'll probably never recover from, really..SHAME On you! :-) (and yes, I'm being very sarcastic!)

Brooke...don't forget, to DUCKY, Army of God nuts must represent ALL PROTESTANTS, though 19 muslims who killed 3000 of us are "just a silly bunch we don't have to worry about...move on, no story there". Think about that and multiply his brain by a few million and that's kind of scary; he's not alone in that hypocritical thinking...imagine?
I constantly stand up for Catholicism tho I know there's plenty of truth to what Beamish goes on and on about...in respect for Catholics who blog here and who I LOVE. But, there seems to be no compunction for DUcky to lie and misrepresent and accuse non Catholics of anything he sees fit to insult. And, imagine...we don't look at ALL CATHOLICS as pedophiles..just think! WHo's the bigger of us?

Karen, the scary thing is that most rabid muslims have known that for years and that they started inching in here and laying the groundwork so long ago.
Or, on the other hand, maybe Americans are just that gullible that it DID take 9/11 to finally fain Muslims respect because our leftwingies told us we should turn another cheek.
I'll tell you what cheek I'd turn on them, but mine aren't too bad, so I would keep back the compliment! (HAAA!) :-)

'President Obama and his family attended services this morning at St. John's Church, which is on the other side of Lafayette Square from the White House.St. John's, often visited by presidents, is Episcopalian. The visit comes a month after a Pew Research Center poll said that nearly one in five Americans erroneously believe Obama is a Muslim.Obama has repeatedly said he is a Christian. This morning's sermon dealt with Luke 16:1-13, the parable of the dishonest steward'

Notice the theme of the sermon. Can't make that stuff up!

SilvrLady, I think that muslims are afraid to speak out; I mean, look what they do to nonmuslims who don't bow to their beliefs!

Is it true the Obamas left before the muslim spoke? I saw the St. John's schedule and a muslim did speak at that service...was it you who suggested that the news is reporting they left before that? I saw them leaving the church and many must have also left because they weren't walking alone....what do you know about that?xx

Nothing was mentioned in the clips I saw as to when he left. Can't help there.

It should be noted that the person preaching on the day President Obama and his family attended was Pastor Luis Leon.

You can see the church preaching schedule here.

http://www.stjohns-dc.org/site/1/docs/Clergy_Schedule_(September_19-November_25,_2010).pdf

The person of whom you speak, is part of a two Forum series between services.

Since it has been widely reported that President Obama and his family took communion, and in an Episcopalian church, that must be served by a Priest, he would have had to attended at least one of the regular services.

As your post said, I did not believe it, so I checked...

Z said...

David, what do you mean "would have had to have attended two services"? To get communion? It's said he's attended 3 services in the time he's been pres..maybe 2 of those were there, I don't know.

As for the speakers, I saw this:

"September 19, 2010 Prospects for the Two-State Solution the Middle East, Part I. Speaker: Ziad Asali, M.D., Founder and President, American Task Force on Palestine"

WHatever..I don't really care, though I found it humorous that a muslim would speak that one day Pres Obama finally attended church...after telling us days after the inauguration that he and MIchelle would be busy finding a church.
Then, they tell us that they don't want to disrupt a church.......odd, Reagan attended Bel AIr Presbyterian, near me, and there were secret service and nobody seemed to mind at all.

Look, I don't really care where Obama goes, or how many times he goes...i do care about 20 yrs with Jeremiah Wright, whether the left thinks that's a nonissue or not......who cares what they think? it IS an issue. And I care because of the silliness of his excuses for NOT attending church.
I personally don't care if a president attends any services; just don't tell us one thing and do another.

I don't think you are supposed to receive Communion if you do not go through confirmation ceremonies in that specific faith. I guess he thinks y'all come wherever you are. Rules for everybody else don't apply to him, since he's the Prez. Yeah, right!

Always, Brooke always cracks me up...that's one bright buddy we have!

SilvrLady, I wondered about that...I think you're right. The news, of course, referred to the Episcopal service as "mass" :-)

Update from Walid Shoebat's office:

We did some further checking and discovered that President Obama left the church at 10.03 am. The speaker Ziad Asali spoke in between services so the President did not hear him....

Z said...

Always, good, thanks so much for that...
I hope your show went well today, I wish I was home to listen every Friday!
Imagine Obama picking THAT SUnday out of 3 in one year, to go there when a muslim's speaking..?
GOod to know the fact that he didn't go FOR that, thanks.
