"TRUTH TEAMS"??!!.....the Obama folks are good, aren't they? :-)

HERE is a fascinating story, maybe even frightening, about a not so *'overlooked' principle of Liberalism and its accompanying hubris.  (Oddly enough, Ducky made a comment on my post just below this one, "The Six *Overlooked Principles of Conservatism",  that really fits this post well;  Here's the pertinent part of Ducky's comment "The entire game now is to demonize one another. Fail to notice areas of agreement and similarities and claim the moral high ground.).."

Talk about shutting others out, demonizing, and 'claiming the moral high ground,' the Obama folks are NOW launching TRUTH TEAMS so, when the Conservatives show any other perfectly respectable, informed way of looking at Obama's record and his plans for the future, these 'trained people' can set straight those poor Americans, who might be otherwise duped by the Republicans. :-)
You see, it's important that we Americans believe that the Liberals can DO no wrong, that there ARE no other ways of looking at things, and we're all wrong believing there are, right?  (wrong)   Here's a snippet from the article I linked above (Have Pepto Bismol ready, it's astonishing):

"If the other guys are going to run a campaign based on misrepresenting the president's record - and their own - we have two options: sit back and let these lies go unchallenged, or fight back with the truth," deputy Obama campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said in an email. "We're fighting back."

It's not only this type of endeavor by the Lefties that will help him win in November, it'll be the way the media will be covering this endeavor, the articles, the CNN and network coverage, everyone talking about this TRUTH TEAM thing.   See how that sounds to Americans who don't read enough information or aren't curious enough to understand that this is all just public relations?   VERY cunning and very smart on the part of the White House, isn't it.

Where have Republicans been since Obama's recently implemented so many of their plans we'd been told by Obama didn't exist?   Suddenly, after 3 years in which he could have implemented lots of things, (two years of which he had a Dem House and Senate), etc., he's touting the Republicans plans and calling them his own...but, that's fine for him because the media adopted his line about the Republicans "not having anything", too.  It's all very cunning, very planned, and if anyone thinks we can beat Obama short of his being overheard and recorded (and it had better not be recorded by Breitbart because the Left knows he's a liar :-),  saying "I'm a Communist Muslim who hates America," they're nuts. (Actually, that could get him votes today in this new America, too, come to think of it)   Of course, the media'd remedy any statement he was caught saying with something like "you have to see it in CONTEXT!"  HA!

How successful do you think these new TRUTH TEAMS will be?   Think they'll be paid?

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day to you all.

For that reason, I think it likely that Obama will win in November.

How successful do you think these new TRUTH TEAMS will be?

Marginally on the grassroots level, IMO. People's minds are already made up as to how to vote in November: mostly either for BHO or for ABO (Anybody But Obama).

The GOP's circular firing squad will cause a lot of ABO's to stay home.

Think they'll be paid?

Some of the head honchos will. This is not entirely a grassroots tactic. There will be paid "directors" or "heads of chapters."

z - I've never liked V-tines Day.

And I'll tell ya why - z.

To me the colors of Valentines Day clash with the wonderful red and green of Christmas.

But have a good one anyway - z.

Nietzsche said that the criterion for truth is an enhanced "feeling of power"... so whatever makes DEMOCRATS FEEL more POWERFUL MUST be the "truth".

In other words... the truth is subjective, NOT objective, so whatever "empowers" my minority du jour is destined to BECOME the truth.

I predict it will be about as successful as their snitch website, where Americans were encouraged to spy on one another and and turn one another in for un-Obama activities, thoughts and speech...

Remember the Obama Truth Squads of the 2008 election? Just about every Democrat Sheriff and Prosecutor in Missouri signed on for that.

Truth squads... Didn't Obama have those in the unprosecuted new black panthers last time around?

AOW is correct, I fear.

Brooke, the trivial panther case was dismissed by THE BUSH JUSTICE DEPT.

There was no crime and it is indicative of how the right have been willing participants in their own marginalization.

But keep whining and fighting the culture wars. It's working.

There's growing evidence that The Black Messiah's birth control edict has strengthened L'il Ricky's chances.

So he weakens his main opponent by throwing some momentum to L'il Ricky and everyone ignores his disgraceful giveaway to the banksters in the mortgage settlement.

Is he that good or are the American people really the uninformed idiots I believe they are.

Keep fighting the culture wars. It's working.

DUcky, you're partly right. The Bush administration dismissed it and two weeks before they left office, the DoJ filed a suit.
It's documented that people left the voting place because they didn't want to hassle the guys and it's documented that the panthers used racial slurs.
Every time this comes up, you act as if the Black men dressed in camouflage, carrying a billy club, and not speaking to anyone except for things like "You're about to be ruled by a white man, cracker!" were acting like a welcome committee.
Since the case unbelievably got thrown out, the panthers have referred to FOX NEWS as FOX JEWS.
all that's in Wikipedia, including the most whitewashed version of this that could have happened, including how 'nobody testified as to being intimidated' when we've all seen folks saying they felt very uneasy about the panthers being there.

Ducky,

It's your team that's been at bat for the past 3 years. Do't whine to US about regulating banks.

Truth Squad. I read about their cousins when I read history books back in the 50s.

They were very popular in a particular European country.

I wouldn't want to name the country or the Squad, 'cause we're supposed to pretend that didn't happen and that there are no parallels today.

Z said...

By the way, folks, i'm wondering if these TRUTH TEAMS will be at all like the Panthers acted in 2008...and if nobody will have the guts to complain.

AOW, I think you're mostly right.

But my comment in my post, I think, is very true: it's not so much these Truth Teams and their effectiveness but if the media catches this story and runs with it, you know it'll be reported as if "the Obama people just have to do this to get the truth across" as if that IS the truth.
Wait for it. That kind of reporting could be more effective with some people than the grass roots dopes they're trying to entice.

I signed on to that Obama site about reporting lies last year just to see,so I keep getting e-emails from Jim Messina for Obama and they all say the same thing"Republican lies",blah, blah, blah
I guess Gingrich was right about Alinsky. Here a are a few tactics Obama uses:

1. "Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have."

5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."

."

8. "Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose."

9. "The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself."

10. "The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign."

11. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside... every positive has its negative."

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

A Day in the Life of a True Conservative

Joe Conservative wakes up in the morning and goes to the bathroom. He flushes his toilet and brushes his teeth, mindful that each flush & brush costs him about 43 cents to his privatized water provider. His wacky, liberal neighbor keeps badgering the company to disclose how clean and safe their water is, but no one ever finds out. Just to be safe, Joe Conservative boils his drinking water.

Joe steps outside and coughs–the pollution is especially bad today, but the smokiest cars are the cheapest ones, so everyone buys ‘em. Joe Conservative checks to make sure he has enough toll money for the 3 different private roads he must drive to work. There is no public transportation, so traffic is backed up and his 10 mile commute takes an hour.

On the way, he drops his 12 year old daughter off at the clothing factory she works at. Paying for kids to go to private school until they’re 18 is a luxury, and Joe needs the extra income coming in. Times are hard and there’re no social safety nets.

He gets to work 5 minutes late and misses the call for Christian prayer, and is immediately docked by his employer. He is not feeling well today, but has no health insurance, since neither his employer nor his government provide it, and paying for it himself is really expensive, since he has a precondition. He just hopes for the best.

Joe’s workday is 12 hours long, because there is no regulation over working hours, and Joe will lose his job if he complains or unionizes. Today is an especially bad day. Joe’s manager demands that he work until midnight, a 16 hour day. Joe does, knowing that he’ll lose his job if he does not.

Finally, after midnight, Joe gets to pick up his daughter and go home. His daughter shows him the deep cut she got on the industrial sewing machine today. Joe is outraged and asks why she doesn’t have metal mesh gloves or other protection. She says the company will not provide it and she’ll have to pay for it out of her own pocket. Joe looks at the wound and decides they’ll use an over the counter disinfectant and bandages until it heals. She’ll have a scar, but getting stitches at the emergency room is expensive.

His daughter also complains that the manager made suggestive overtures towards her. Joe counsels her to be a “good girl” and not rock the boat, or she’ll get fired and they’ll be out the income.

His daughter says she can’t wait until she’s 18 so she can vote for change or go to the Iraq War.

They get home and there’s a message from his elderly father who can’t afford to pay his medical or heating bills. Joe can hear him coughing and shivering.

Joe turns on the radio and the top story is a proposal in Congress to raise the voting age to 25. A rare liberal opinionator states that it’s an attempt to keep power out of the hands of working class Americans. The conservative host immediately quashes him, calling him “a utopian idealist,” and agreeing that people aren’t mature enough to make good choices until they’re at least 25.

Joe chuckles at the wine-swilling, cheese eating liberal egghead and thinks, “Thank God I live in America where I have freedom!”

Wow. Sorry folks, I don't own a white flag of surrender.

Everyone believed Bush Sr. would win his second term. Wrong!!

Everyone believed Dewey would win. Wrong!! Truman pulled it out and won.

So, while we have a thugocracy which will sink to any tactic to win, it doesn't mean they will.

Usually, if people think they'll lose, they will, and that's the tactic being floated as we speak.

We're supposed to fall for being disheartened, and to lose our gusto for winning. Why else would the Obama team give out this info of a truth team? It's to subdue conservative candidates, and voters.

In fact, the words truth team in the same sentence as the Obama team, is laughable.

For crying out loud, we have to stay in the game, and give it our best.

Think like a winner!!!

Did everyone miss the part in the Health Care Bill that says, that if you want to buy beer and wine or any alcohol, that proof of Health Care Insurance has to be presented at the point of sale (cash register); so, I guess that everyone who expects free health care will be on the wagon until they start paying for their own Policy like all the Middle class and Rich people.
I guess it looks like the Dems. in power want to keep the poor people who vote DemocRat bare foot and pregnant-so to speak--the poor who want hand outs have to know their place so says the Sec of HhS.

There is no doubt the majority of politicians on both sides choose to pit us against each other, so as to pay less attention to them.

Anything like this that comes along both furthers that agenda and launders more money imo.

Cheap magic tricks for the all too willing masses.

Heritage Foundation? Coulters Books?, Anyone's books? All lip service, designed to separate us from our money by focusing on something people are emotionally charged about. Like taking candy from babies.

As I replied on a recent RNC money beg, "You don't need money, you only need a conservative candidate". I will never send money for political purposes.

EB: Is it LD, or LSD?

Seriously, that is the biggest load of fantasy I've heard in a good, long while.

They/Say says there needs to be proof of insurance to buy alcohol? IF that is true, will the government start tracking who is imbibing a bit too much?

Welcome back, prohibition! It worked out really well the first time...
