Merry Christmas!

Christmas has changed since the days of Bethlehem and the manger, but the manger is remembered in profound, life-changing ways and celebrated in beautiful places all these many, many years later....

I hope you're having a beautiful, happy Christmas.

This is me, singing and playing, recorded about six years ago with a small and not very good recorder in Mr. Z's lap........I hope you enjoy it and are blessed by it.
AND, I found this quote at Angel's blog and thought it was fabulous...I hope you do, too: "He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree." The Presbyterian Lexionary, which I highly recommend, has this amazing foreshadowing of Jesus Christ in THE OLD TESTAMENT!

Isaiah 60:1-6
1Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
2For darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will appear over you.
3Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
4Lift up your eyes and look around; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far away, and your daughters shall be carried on their nurses' arms.
5Then you shall see and be radiant; your heart shall thrill and rejoice, because the abundance of the sea shall be brought to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.
6A multitude of camels shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praise of the LORD.

Fondest wishes to you all, Z xx

Happy Holidays to my blogging friends!
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or whatever your holiday is. We debate and verbally battle for 52 weeks of the year. But as this holiday approaches and the year draws to an end, I want to tell you that you each have some very unique strengths that I respect. Whether we agree on everything or not, I respect you for your opinion

Isaiah had it pegged, eh?
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Merry Christmas, Z.
And Merry Christmas Ducky.

Z, thank you for your beautiful voice, and such a wonderful song. Merry Christmas.

To those who can't get it to play, if you have "options", simply click onto "allow all of this page", and it'll come on.

To you all, have a Happy Christmas Eve, and a blessed Christmas Day.

Since the days of the Winter Solstice and the Festival of Saturnalia? You bet they've changed!

Hope you and my fellow deniZens of your site have a very Merry Christmas.

My wife and I agree you have a beautiful voice. I would really like to have the opportunity to see you perform.

Thanks for all you do with your blog, especially your regular Sunday Faith blog. I can always use messages of faith, and really appreciate the comments of your regular commentators (my spell check doesn't like the word, commenters).

Merry Christmas, and have a most Happy and Prosperous New Year. Don't forget the hog jowl and blackeyed peas on New Years Day.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day...I sure did. Christmas Eve was lovely, too.

CI...you are so right. Saturnalia might have been picked as the time to celebrate the birth of Jesus much like Kwanza was picked to "give black folks who want to celebrate their roots" a holiday around the 'big day' and even Hanukkah's importance was boosted as a way for Jews to have a holiday near the "other one" :-)

We think the Christ child was probably born in the spring or summer since shepherds would have frozen their arses off if they were 'tending their sheep' anywhere outside at night near Bethlehem!! :-)

To EVERYONE who did celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, I think THAT is the point: the exact date is of less importance (at least the date is) than the happening...

If gifts weren't such a beautiful symbol of the gift God gave us in His Son, I'd pass on gifts altogether. Plus, i'm no child and child SHOULD have gifts from Santa on Christmas,in my humble opinion.
Still....carols and beautiful sermons and choirs and candles and greenery and good will... that'd be good all in and of itself.
Again, in my 'never to be humble' opinion :-)
