Bush and Obama.........get a box of Kleenex first

Well, I think CNN gets it right at the end of the video, don't you? (imagine?)
I hope you react to this like I did. It's only a few minutes long...give it a look.

God bless ALL branches of the Military of these great United States of America! SEMPER FI

Z, it's almost like an SNL skit. When I showed my wife, she asked if it was real or a joke. We both agreed that the troops loved Bush. Every time he spoke theyb roared, stood on their feet, clamored to shake his hand.

Swing by Wordsmith's site, he has a picture of this that sums it up nicely.

As far as CNN, they shouldn't be so harsh on Barry. Barf. Every time I see something like this I think what would have been their wording if Bush had drawn a dead response from the trrops?

"Tepid" implies (or is it infers) SOME warmth. That response was COLD.

what I want to know is WHERE WERE BUSH'S TELEPROMPTERS?

Tepid response? I would use a word much harsher than tepid, but it is CNN so I suppose we should be grateful for what we heard.

Would CNN call BO's response from Wall Street tepid also? Maybe they can't spell apocalyptic?

Great point, cube! VERY good.
But, you know...Obama doesn't concern himself with looking at the daily Dow Jones average because that would take his attention from the "big picture", as he put it...that picture intent on destroying our country.

You all should see the rant by Cramer....and never NEVER forget how Gibbs tried to imply nothing Cramer has EVER said was worth anything, so how COULD we listen to him..a DISSENTER!?

Z....just a taste of the respect Bush commanded while I was in.

I like that video, A leader is alway welcomed by the ones he leads, nothing else can be said here. Bush is a leader. Obama is a transparent leader. Obama needs to start acting like he is the Commander In Chief if he wants to be considered a leader.

Whatever else one may think of our former President, he had the Commander-In-Chief part of his job nailed. Sure wish he'd been allowed to lead the domestic agenda like he did foreign policy.

It would've been much better for everyone, including the Republican Party, if he'd vetoed all those bloated, earmarked spending bills while he defended us from Islamic terrorism.

Some of the vetoes probably would've been overridden, but the financial shenanigans would have been exposed and debated. The American people would have known what was going on.

Who know's what backroom deals Republican Congressmen & Senators forced on President Bush so he could defend the country?

An obvious difference between sincerity and POMP.

Bush actually cared about the troops. He visited them more often than the publis knows, because he wasn't visiting them for publicity.

Z, this video says everything about President Bush. His resolve, his love of the troops and theirs for him, and the reciprocal respect from both.

The difference between the two Presidents is clear. Obama can "act" like a commnder, Bush was a commander.

President Bush says 9-11 changed his life. His focus was IMO, almost entirely on the war on terror, and protecting this country.

For him, I think his heart belonged to our defenders and their families, and they knew it. He had the burden and the responsibility for every life in uniform. This was a burden which was heavy, but he carried it with strength and dignity. He was a great Commander in Chief.

You can't demand respect, you must earn it, and he did. I know he did mine.

They did cheer once, when Obama announced a pay increase for the troops.

He didn't mention that the increase in their pay is 2%, nor did he mention that he's ordered a 10% cut for the Dept. of Defense. To my knowledge the only cut he has ordered for any government agency or dept.

Clinton came to Norfolk and was given a complimentary ball cap on the carrier he visited there. When I heard about the rest of the story, in that he got a regular ball cap without the gold oak leaves on the brim, news of this spread like wildfire. You're supposed to give presidents a ball cap showing senior rank w/the gold oak leaves. My understanding is that the ship's supply officer had plenty of the senior ballcaps in stock; he just didn't find it appropriate enough to give Clinton one.

I would like to hope that, some way, some how, military people follow this same example with Obama.

Pris was that on top of the usual cost of living raise?

And Bush visited and spoke with our troops when there were no cameras around as well. Maybe if they start to issue every soldier a crackberry then maybe they'd get a comment or two from Obama. Maybe he can set up a website to say that he does indeed support our troops while he cuts their budgets from behind the curtain.

SAL'S GAL:

I HOPE EVERYONE READS YOUR COMMENT HERE.
I heard someone recently admit just that, but that Bush wanted to continue in Iraq and the Dems threatened to block funding if he didn't sign every big-spending bill they had down the pike.

What you're saying here also makes some sense, but I believe Bush DID feel the necessity to be there and wasn't as bullied by his Right as he was by the Turn-Tails.

Thanks for mentioning this...I think it's a very valid important point.

My feeling for a long time has been that Bush couldn't articulate better his reasons to go into Iraq because of State secrets, too. Some think this was all about Russian movement through Iraq.....

who knows? I just am so gratified to see the soldiers OBVIOUSLY felt they were doing some good or how could they have EVER applauded so wildly for the one keeping them THERE, right?

What I wouldn't give to trust Obama, to not be so aware that he's ruining our country, to not see that even Dems are starting to wake up and talk about this, that our soldiers would feel that good about HIM, our new president. How I WISH he deserved our praise. I wonder if he can turn this around or is that HUGE spending earmark PC America agenda he's so excited abuot going to trump his real success..and ours?

The Obama people must have anticipated that the response would be "tepid", since the band was there to play, very, very loudly. Imagine the same scene with no music as Obama walked in...to the sound of 5 people clapping. A pitiful leader.

Bush needed no music to carry him to the stage. He earned their respect!! Send this clip everywhere, it says it all.

I knew that the Marines' 'enthusiasm' for pres. obama was 'respectful' -thanks for this juxtaposed picture -Pres. Bush w/ our Best and pres. obama w. our Best-

My prayers are for the safety of our Best...If any cuts (there are whispers of them) come to our military spending after the trillions spent frivolously--we MUST express out-rage!!!

Z,
As a veteran, I noticed immediately the "tepid" response that BO received as opposed to W. I went to war and served under a C-in-C and BO is as loved as Clinton. Both are crap when it comes to the military. Neither loved the military.

Service members feel the love or they don't. Our relationship is different than those of other parts of the Govt. We were willing to lay down our lives for our country. W got the love because he gave the love.

BO doesn't give a crap about the military. It is an instrument of policy to him. He'll never get it and Clinton never got it.

Simple as that.

Hi Elbro, I'm sorry I don't know whether the pay raise is on top of the cost of living raise or not.

All Obama said was, they're "getting a raise in pay".

Much thanks Z. What you say is the truth, wishing we could believe in the new President. We must accept the fact we cannot, Obama IS the far left radical he has always been. His associates have always been radicals too. We must face the truth, we can't trust this President (nor his Congress).

Good video, it really skewers the "we support the troops too" nonsense we've been hearing from the left for the last 5 years or so.

All Obama said was, they're "getting a raise in pay".

We got a raise in pay every year except when Clinton froze our wages...so 2% is better than nothing it's not like we never we never got them before. This is a token amount. We got decent raises under Reagan and Bush.

Anonymous said...

2% seems to be the magic number. My husband is employed by the Federal Government and he told me the other day that , this was to be their pay raise, too.

I agreed with much of what was written here regarding much of possible motives of why President Bush did or did not do something.

He prioritized things and knew he had to take care of the troops, above all.
I also think he knew protecting the country was the top job of a president.

We now know what Mr. O considers top priority.

Elbro, thanks SO much for the clarification. We need Paul Harvey back for the "Rest" of the story...we may never get anything like the full picture again, if we keep relying on our American media.

WV......it's very sad that Obama's partying hearty when people are hurting. I can't IMAGINE what the media would do about the Wednesday Night Cocktail Parties with Stevie Wonder and the Jonas whatever's, and Earth, Wind, and Fire if this was a Republican president...in times like these when people are losing their jobs.

Eleanor Holmes NOrton said that she was surprised no politics was spoken at the parties....I thought it's not surprising, it's almost a "Let them eat cake" attitude. I don't like to criticize the private lives of presidents while they're under the scrutiny of living in OUR house (even though one Professor said "we have a black president, only he's still in public housing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.." that REALLY hurt my feelings, tell you the truth. Isn't that house good enough for a president anymore?), I really don't...I can't imagine living in a goldfish bowl and not being able to get OUT on my own once in a while...
But, traditionally, when things have been bad, they'd tightened belts and not crowed about lavish parties...
This must hurt a LOT of poor people...a LOT must be questioning their vote by now.
