I've never been on the Danube, but I have fond memories of the Rhine.

Z - The higher the mountain - the closer to God" ;)

I climbed a few more mountains - a couple of weeks ago - in DI territory. All covered in snow! And, although the "climbing" was done on snowmobiles - (not very calm, peaceful nor quiet) - the views from the top were truly inspiring and pristine. I just hope I managed to capture a little piece of those heavenly vistas in my videos. God has truly graced our lives with beauty....

I heard that barge trips in the South of France are very popular right now. Sounds pretty peaceful.

I spent some time in Donauworth. It was a great little town on the Danube. I would love to go back someday.

Mr and Mrs Z once took a hydrofoil (sp?) on the Danube from Vienna to Budapest..about five hours.

There was a group of about 12 Japanese tourists who boarded with us at approx 8:30 in Vienna......suddenly, it's noon and they serve us DELICIOUS Hungarian salamis and fresh bell peppers and bread, etc... very good stuff. I looked up front to the tourists and there they were eating sushi! I SWEAR! Where they got fresh sushi in Vienna at 8:30 before boarding and if they ever heard "WHEN IN ROME DO AS THE ROMANS DO.." I don't know!

I always got a kick out of the Americans that spent a lot of time in McDonalds. I mean hey, we are hear in Europe and there are millions of places we have never eaten before. And once we leave, we may never get to eat at some of those places again.

I was there for two years and once in a blue moon I would go to MDs or Burger King. when I got homesick. But not often. There were millions of little schnellimbisses with beer and schnitzel, I had one within easy walking distance.

LA Sunsett..it's unthinkable, really.
We lived in Paris for a few years and I think I went to McDo's (as they call it) 4 times. But, I had to sneak in and sneak out with the burger in my purse like the Pink Panther, because one of our favorite cafes was kitty corner to it and the waiters loved that "la Madame"(moi)loved and knew food ... couldn't let them down by them seeing me indulge in that delicious homesick cure (yes, I DO love McDonald's but go maybe only once a year here, too!!) :-)

PEOPLE! When you're traveling, EAT THE FOOD THERE! You will not be sorry !(especially in Germany!)
