Sunday Faith Blog.....and an extra gift to you all from BZ

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone.........I hope you find the above verses as affirming and calming as I do.

-I just read Bloviating Zeppelin's latest post "A Letter to My Father, from His". Please go there and read it. I promise you will not be sorry, you will be inspired and you will remember what America's really about. As Law & Order Teacher commented there..."This is America." Read "America", folks.....it rarely gets better than this. Thank you, BZ, for having shared such a wonderful part of your very American family with us.

Z, I always like your Sunday faith entries. Along with a beautifully poetic passage from the Bible we always get a pretty picture. Let me take this opportunity to thank ALL of you good Christians out there for loving and defending our country. America is a MIRACLE among the nations, and it was founded by a G-d fearing people.

BZ's (bravo zulu) to BZ! That was one of the most beautiful and poignant letters that I've ever read. Thanks for sharing it with us!

You're right, Z, BZ's letter is great!

So is your reminder today! Can I share a quick personal story with yout blog readers? Thank you, I will try to be brief. Quite a few yeara ago, we were going through a very difficult time, & at the lowest part of it, I sensed the Lord's peace in a very real way that got us through it. He is so good. Always. May the Lord bless you!

Z, Thanks for this. We need to be mindful of who's in charge, and look to Him for strength at such a time as this, for, we will need it.

Pris
PS. Thanks for the link to BZ's blog. How wonderful his grandfather's letter was.

Wasn't that a powerful letter Pris?
Both of my grandfathers have told me many of the same things, especially about work and the greatness of America. One was a penniless immigrant child from Ukraine, and the other was the son of Irish potato famine refugees. They were from different worlds for sure, but AMERICA united them!

The leftist infection SEEKS and works overtime to Balkanize us into grievance groups. It's old fashioned divide and conquer, and people had better open their eyes.

Hi Morgan, yes very powerful, wonderful.

I never knew my maternal grandfather, he died when my mom was a baby, shortly after he and my grandmother with my mother in tow, migrated to the USA from Trinidad BWI(now, just WI)an island in the Caribbean. They were Portugese. My paternal grandfather unfortunately was never very engaged with us at all.

My maternal grandmother was the source of many stories and history of her life in Trinidad. Although she was very proud to have become an American

BZ's letter really reminded me of my Dad. I learned so much from him, and he so loved this country, as did my Mom. Dad's family were among the first to come to America, from England, they went way back.

Yes, the left is very busy and moving fast, very fast, overreaching to implement their agenda, and people I think, are waking up. The slumber has been too long, it's about time.

The question is, are the middle of the road Democrats waking up? I hope so, because we're in a heap of trouble.

Have you thought about telling some of these stories? I'd LOVE to hear them. You have a knack for writing.
I ran track in high school with a kid from Trinidad named Muhammed Ali. He claimed to be Indian. Who knows? He was the nicest kid in the world with an accent so thick you could cut it with a knife. We used to ask him questions just to hear him talk. LOL!

Morgan, we're all good people from the Old Testament..thanks for your amazing comments.

I love hearing ALL your reactions to this scripture AND BZ's Granddad's writing to his father...amazing.
Truly "AMERICA"..the whole spirit in one letter. marvelous.

Z, we may get lucky. MAYBE, just MAYBE the inevitable depredations brought about by the current inept administartion will wake people up. If we're lucky, people will say STOP IT ALREADY!!!!!! We may end up with a new birth of freedom once the masses understand the sheer stupidity of "borrow and spend trilions" Obama.
On the 15th we need to raise pure hell! I know the tea parties seem kinda hokey, but show up at a rally with your sign and yell like crazy!
It'll cost me to be there, but I'm going to one of the rallies here in NE FL.

Morgan, I swear I've been saying the same thing to Mr. Z.." something's coming, people are waking up!"

Do not be anxious about anything...

I'm trying very hard to live by those words, but it's difficult right now -- on so many fronts.

Z, yes it shows that we are of like mind (sharing the letter link.)

The song on my profile works if you have windows media player. Do you have that?

Morgan, yes Trinidadians are a very friendly and hospitable people. We were able to go there in 1989. Even had a calypso made up on the spot, just for us. Fun!

Sadly, Islamists, even there, have caused problems, drug lords are in evidence and crime is a huge problem. We feel it is no longer safe to ever go back.

My grandmother never quite shed her accent. It would show up with certain words, and she would swear that wasn't so, that she had no such accent at all. It was in reality very charming. I love it myself.

Pris, it's sad to hear that even Trinidad's being overrun by Islamists.......

Leslie, I'll get over there and hopefully can listen to you, thanks!

Z,
In Mass today I thought of the four slain officers in Oakland. I posted something about it as I've been on the receiving end of the loss of police officers. Sorry to bring up sadness, but it is real.

Your verse is touching. God is great.

I have to agree, that was a great letter. Sad part is that those feelings were the norm back when it was written. Will we ever get back to those days? Sadly, not likely.

Thank you kindly, Z, for linking to my grandfather's letter; it was tough to transcribe and made me remember, all over again, my father's funeral. However, at the end of my grandfather's letter, it reminded me WHY my father's was The Greatest Generation and WHY The Greatest Generation had he greatest parents.

God bless you all, and thank you.

Thanks for posting the link to that impressive letter, Z. Not much that I can say that hasn't already been said — just simple advice and so true, that this seems to have been lost today.
