The irony! He's kidding, right? Here's my response:
"Conservatives have charged that the media in this country knew and recognized the problems associated with the people in Obama's background and his Socialist goals for America but didn't tell the public. We have accused every major network, most cable news networks, and 90% of every newspapers of abandoning their journalistic duties and acting like cheerleaders for the liberal Democrats."
Works for ME! But, it's okay for the LEFT to accuse...........not us.
As for the Cramer/Stewart dust-up; the clear message is "You'd BETTER not question this administration in ANY way, or your whole place of business will be roundly and openly criticized!" YOWEEEE, this is scary.

I would add that the media in this country conspired to elect a man president who was not qualified, either through experience, integrity, or leadership ability, and that having done so, they no longer deserve the special trust and confidence of the American people as a “free and independent press.”

In my view, there are very few true journalists left, specifically on TV.
Many are commentators, but few are journalists. John Stossel is one of the few journalists left.
There has been a change in the MSM, IMHO. It seems they have gone from covering for and cheering on the left to demonizing the right. It seems to be coordinated with the Obama WH attack on people who don't agree with them (Rush, Cramer, etc). I don't think it's coordinated officially but I also don't think it's a coincidence.
Chuck, whether official or otherwise, it is hard to imagine that someone isn't orchestrating the attacks, especially since Ram Emanuel holds morning teleconference calls with the MSM insiders.
Either way, it does not reflect an impartial press. If only people would generate a letter writing campaign to the sponsors of the televised news media telling them that they won't be purchasing anymore viagra ... that would get their attention.

I don't think I can remember ever trusting the media. Although, the liberal political influence has gotten worse. We don't have a free and unfettered press, although our government doesn't control it. The Democratic Party sure does though.

Steve H, ACORN just got another couple of billion federal dollars in the Porkulus bill, I think. Lord knows how many fraudulent votes can be attributed to ACORN's antics. Very sad to see our money going to support a group of liars, cheaters and scammers.

John Stewart is a comedian. His role is not "journalistic" in any way, shape or form. His job is NOT to report the facts/news, it's to add "colour" by passing moral judgement on the events and find humour in and "ridicule" those values (like making money) that he finds "base".
Comedy has always been the cultural weapon used to "destroy" moral values and behaviors society finds "unsuitable" and which need to be be targetted for elimination. What I'd like to know is, when did the "greed" associated with making money become unsuitable to a capitalist society?

I think the Republicans squandered their chance BUT I think it was because what's being discussed a little bit now is that Bush had to sign a lot of big gov't spending to protect IRaq appropriations. I always believed he was bribed by the Dems "Either you sign or we won't back Iraq". I finally heard someone admit this the other day on the radio..gave quite a story, but I think we won't know the rest of it, maybe ever.

Huh? Stewart is asking why Cramer was on TV constantly touting the crooks during the Bush administration.
The broadcast media was completely derelict and the print media wasn't much better. Business Week, occasionally The Economist,Alan Abelson at Barron's,Floyd Norris at the NYT ... these folks were trying to blow the whistle but everyone else was "bon temps roulez".
It was so obvious that capital was out chasing investment which is a recipe for a bubble rather than ideas looking for capital which is a means of growth.
