MoveOn.... I guess the term "Tea Party" is too patriotic for them!?

....plus, they probably don't know their history enough to understand the term TEA PARTY. This is an email that just got sent around:

Dear MoveOn member,

We knew the Republicans were going to be a problem when President Obama called on Congress to invest in a clean-energy economy and universal health care.

But now, according to a Capitol Hill newspaper, some conservative Democratic senators are "quietly maneuvering to keep open the option of vetoing two of President Barack Obama's most ambitious agenda items this year—climate change and health care reform."1

This is the nightmare scenario: a few conservative Democrats teaming up with Republicans to stop the progressive pieces of the President's agenda. So we're launching a major campaign to make sure Democratic senators hear loud and clear from their constituents that we need them to back Obama's proposals.

The campaign is volunteer-driven, but it takes money to make training videos, develop hard-hitting ads, and pay the community organizers who recruit and manage the volunteers. Can you contribute $15 per month to help save clean energy and health care reform? Click here: (Z: links removed to protect this country)

It's easy to contribute monthly and you can cancel at any time.

You see, what's happening here is that these conservative Democrats are facing enormous pressure from Republicans and corporate lobbyists in Washington, but they're not hearing enough from progressives back home in their districts or states. So we're building the infrastructure to inject a massive jolt of people power into the conversation.

It starts this weekend, with a wave of nearly 200 community meetings organized by local volunteers, and it builds from there until we're mobilizing hundreds of thousands of MoveOn members to pressure their senators and representatives in their home states and districts.

Z: Thought you'd enjoy what's happening. The good thing is there are so many more Tea Parties by conservatives and others hoping to stem the tide of SO much spending. And, maybe those moderate Democrats understand how extremely costly and probably what bad ideas universal health care and Obama's idea of a 'clean -energy economy' really are. Don't you love the part about DEMOCRATS facing "enormous pressure"? Ya, the Left has 100% of the television networks, most of the newspapers and most of cable TV (though FOX is way ahead in the ratings, of course), most of the film and TV inferences in their themes.....but THE DEMS are facing ENORMOUS pressure! Good, it's about time. Get used to it, folks...you ain't seen NOTHIN' yet.

Lovely I got a laugh out of that too! Way to go Z! I get the e-mail alerts from those animals too, just to see what's bugging the small-minded fascists. I'm attending the tea parties on the 15th with a sign thast says, "Chains We Can Believe In."

Mark Levin's new book is FANTASTIC!! It's a must read for patriots.

Z, Great post.

Gotta love it. So Move-on thinks democrats are being pressured by Republicans? It couldn't possibly be, that normal citizen Democrats might love their country too, could it?

That, change merely meant to them, middle of the road Democrat.

That, the far left comprises about 25% of the Democrat Party.

Do they really believe that, at the tax revolt rally here in California that I attended, the 15,000 people (estimate provided by the attendant police),who showed up were all conservatives and Republicans? Uh uh.

When they signed on with Obama, they didn't know they'd be asked to buy what he's selling now!

It's called buyers remorse.

Is Move On worried? Well whoop-de-doo. Tough! They can do what we've done for years, watch and worry. For us, no more, been there, done that.

There are Tea Parties all over the country, on Wednesday, April 15th!
Here's where to find one near you.

http://www.officialtaxdayteaparty.com/index.html

Take that day off, go, if you can.
Go, you'll be glad you did.

If anyone should appreciate dissent it's the left, but now, they're in charge and whaddya know, they don't believe in dissent anymore.

They tell our kids to question authority, well the left is the authority, from K-college, to Congress, and we're questioning it big time.

So come on kids join us. This is where the revolution is, the rebellion you love. This is where the fight is and it's begun.

Yes, I have to get Levin's book, thanks, Morgan.

I'm glad you guys liked my not linking to donate! What the heck, I didn't start a blog for people to give money from here to moveon, though most of my readers wouldn't anyway!

Pris...BRAVO! You GO, girl!
The fight has begun, indeed!! Thanks for the tea party info

I don't know if I can get the 15th off, but I do know there's quite a party scheduled in Cincinnati!

Chains we can believe in... I wish I'd thought of that! LOL!

They insist on getting paid for volunteer work while we simply work for what we believe in and contribute our own wealth. And we are the greedy ones.

hmmmm.

I looked at this a little differently. I think the poeple at Move On are a bunch of whores using this as a way to raise money. I think it's funny that people are buying into it and giving them the money.

Well, maybe, just MAYBE some Democrats are worried about the Obama agenda after all.

Seems no one cares about diddly squat until THEIR money gets taken.

It is being reported that an all out war is to be waged on the coal industry, and it has the governor here...."concerned". As bloody well he should be.
Our governor is a Democrat.

And the coal miners have some good , high paying jobs.

A lot of people in the mountains will lose money if the EPA people and Obama people have their way.

Gee...what was that..didn't someone warn the folks in Pa. and some other coal producing states about voting for this person called the Won?
Well.
Stay tuned, the crowd is beginning to turn ugly.

MoveOn is calling a cleanup of the President's agenda a "nightmare scenario"? Give me a break.

People are losing their jobs left and right and they want those people to send them $15 a month... Only the Left could come up with something like this; PAY VOLUNTEERS? Somebody help me out, isn't that an oxymoron?

Blessings.

I do not think this $15.00 a month is what it appears to be.

This was the same code that was used during the presidential campaign and we all pretty much know and heard about lots of un-accounted for money.

Keep sending in those tea bags. If you were paying attention last election, the left sent MONEY.

We know how to fund raise and get in the streets while you sit back and read Mark Levin.

I wouldn't be so self congratulatory on discovering a strategy that leads to your marginalization.

-------------------

Don't want to burst your bubble, z but moveon isn't expecting far right wing blogs to be a source of income.

As far as raising money, as I said, we completely destroyed the right last election and have the infrastructure in place.

You are sending tea bags.

Z said...

I.H.S. "Pay volunteers"? That's ACORN. They call them volunteers so they can get federal funding but, yes, they all got paid for all the corruption during the election, too.

Ducky, what's the MATTER? I simply don't get it.
You're getting uglier and nastier and more bitter.
Are YOU, TOO, seeing that things aren't quite going in the direction that America will be IMPROVED instead of utterly destroyed?
Some Dems are, so, I can understand that.
I thought it was odd Mr. Obama didn't call on the NYTimes or Wash Post writers Monday evening...
Also, I thought it odd that the conference was at 8 PM EST instead of the typical 9, so more people on the West Coast are able to watch. I'm not sure that had ever been done.

Who was at the WH last night, Ducky? Earth Wind and Fire again? Stevie? The Stones? Did you hear?

Re: the tea bags, we have to send them because our media doesn't represent us anymore, we can't be heard, stories are squelched, etc., so that's all we've got in America these days. Did you know that even a local tea party here in LA with estimates between 8 and 11K people didn't get mentioned in the LA TIMES? Ya.
Moveon's calling for 200 get togethers, the tea parties should number much higher, if I'm to believe the information that's being emailed out....there were approx 20 here in the LA area alone!
So, don't worry: We don't need money, we have the AMERICAN PEOPLE..
(oh, and we've got money, too, though we all know that Dems make more and give less in charity, another pesky detail the media's always lied about...as if Wall St was all Republicans, too, that's the BEST kept secret)

Duck, on this fund raising last year, wanna make an estimate on how much of it was actually legally raised from American donors? I will be impressed with Obama's fundraising when he shows the source of the funds. IMHO most of that money came from his friends in the Middle East.

TEA = Taxed Enough Already!

Actually we're taxed TOO MUCH already, but that doesn't fit the acronym.

Ducky, I know this will amaze you, but we conservatives can actually send tea bags, attend rallies, AND write checks or send money via the internet. We can and do.

And if that weren't enough, people like me can actually find the time to come here and slap you around!

Isn't that something?

I wonder Ducky, when all those "small" contributors decide they can't afford those contributions when they see their tax obligations, what will they do then?

That is if they even exist. Money laundering I think, is alive and well in lefty land. After all, it's "the Chicago Way". You people put the Mafia to shame.

The MoveOn email says nothing about the Tea Party, yet you present it as proof that MoveOn (and by association, all Democrats) are for taxes, which is blatantly ridiculous. Apparently, you can just quote any old thing from MoveOn, make some blatantly false accusation, and your blog followers will mindlessly agree.

You conveniently forget that Bush and 8 years of GOP policies are the reason this country is in the financial toilet. For example: remember when the GOP was screaming for the privatization of social security? Fortunately, people with actual brains nixed that terrible idea. Just think, had Democrats not successfully shot that one down, this whole country would be in an even worse state than it is now. Instead of having next-to-nothing in retirement, your folks would have ABSOLUTELY nothing. The idea that the GOP is the fiscally responsible party is a JOKE.

Bush and company walked out of the White House leaving us with a huge deficit. How, exactly, did you think it would be paid, Z?

"Morgan" calls it "Chains we can believe in". Well, these chains were forged by GOP arrogance and incompetence. Of course, right-wingers go to absurd lengths to twist the finger of blame away from the real cause (themselves) and to point instead to... well, anyone else. What happened to the "personal responsibility" that the GOP is always touting. Apparently, "personal responsibility" is just GOP-speak for "blame Democrats for everything". It has never been clearer that the GOP doesn't give a damn about their "ideals". What a bunch of hypocrites.

"Pris" says "Democrats don't believe in dissent anymore". What a load of crap! What, because we want to make sure that Obama doesn't let the right-wing scumbags take over? That IS dissent, Pris.

Pris also says "When they signed on with Obama, they didn't know they'd be asked to buy what he's selling now!" Wrong again. We knew all along that Bush's Borrow and Spend government would have to end sometime. At least Tax and Spend is honest. Sure, we could do like Bush, and just pass on the cost to the next president and generation. Bush spent money like a teenager with their Dad's credit card. But unless that debt is paid off by some other means than Bush's favorite -- selling our country to China -- the US is in big, big trouble. Unless you expected the Treasury Fairy to come in and fix everything up with a magic wand. I don't believe in the Treasury Fairy, Pris, I believe in accounting principles: you shouldn't spend what you don't have. Simple, eh? Too bad Bush couldn't grasp that concept.

"Chuck" calls MoveOn "a bunch of whores using this as a way to raise money." Hello, Chuck? The whole purpose of MoveOn is to raise money. Was that not clear to you? Is everyone who raises money a whore, Chuck? Or just people who raise money for causes that you don't believe in? The NRA raises money. The GOP raises money. Are they whores, too?

Shoprat says "They insist on getting paid for volunteer work while we simply work for what we believe in and contribute our own wealth." Show me where the word "insist" appears in the original email, Shoprat. Even non-profits have to have cash to pay expenses. What do you think they do, barter?

WVDOTTR says "Seems no one cares about diddly squat until THEIR money gets taken." Oh, the irony of this comment, since it is the rightwingers that have their panties in a twist over tax increases. They don't care about diddly squat until THEIR money gets taken, indeed. The double irony here is that because of GOP idiocy, your retirement portfolios have lost 66% of their value! If you REALLY want to talk about having your money taken, just take a look at your IRAs. And guess what? No matter how much you whine and try to twist the facts, your money was gone because our Republican senators pretended that the S&L bailout didn't exist that the great depression didn't happen, and felt more than happy to oblige the banking industry that insisted on a loosening of regulations that allowed banks to put more into collateralized debt obligations -- because CDOs had a better rate of return. No, it wasn't because Barney Frank wanted poor people to have homes, too. It was because Greenspan kept Bond interest rates so low that foreign investors wanted more CDOs and banks were falling all over themselves to provide them as fast as they could. When those pesky "regulations" limited banks from too many "risky" investments, well, who ya gonna call? The GOP!! Free Market Economy, Baby!!! Until the rich folks started losing money, of course, and then good ol' W started bailing his wealthy buddies out, using money that the middle class paid in taxes. Who took your money? The Republicans, that's who.

WVDOTTR also says "This was the same code that was used during the presidential campaign and we all pretty much know and heard about lots of un-accounted for money." Since you say you "know" about lots of unaccounted for money, how about some facts, WVDOTTR? Or are you just here to sling baseless accusations?

And speaking of baseless accusations, Z says "we all know that Dems make more and give less in charity". Riiiight. That's so ludicrous I laughed out loud. My church is a mix of Democrats and Republicans, and guess what, Z? The professed Republicans make lots more than the professed Democrats, yet contribute much, much less. Yes, Z, the richest in my church contribute less than the poorest, and I'm not just talking percentages, I'm talking numbers, Z, real, hard cash. So I have to call bullshit on that one.
