RED INK/BLACK OIL....putting things in perspective?

Ah, truth in comedy. Gotta love it.

by the way, that's not to say I don't think this spill is bad.....I'm just sayin'......

First Z, I have to say, Michael Ramirez is a great cartoonist.

Yes the spill is bad, but it's not a crisis. The tragedy is that eleven men died.

The spill will be cleaned up. Accidents happen. The world will survive and the Chinese, and Russians will continue to drill in the Gulf. Us? Oh no. We're baaaad.

The red ink however is a crisis largely contributed to by the Obama administration, and that's no accident. Well, that's not going to stop the government from spending though is it?

Perspective is a wonderful thing though, isn't it? And Ramirez portrays it perfectly.

You've really given me something to think about here...Interesting how a lot of things look in comparison to eachother; I wonder if they try to build some type of government top hat and funnel all the red ink back into the pockets of the taxpayers or am I missing the concept completely?

Blessings.

To paraphrase the CEO of BP "it's just a little bit of ink in a really big country"

Excellent, Z. It does put things into perspective!

LASunsett said...

I cannot tell if that is ink or blood. Because the nation is bleeding profusely right now and no one in DC is listening, even yet.

Ramirez IS great...that's why the LA Times took him off about 15 years ago, remember? Maybe less than that, I can't remember but it was a shock that they'd exhibit that much bias..OFF HE WENT.

You're right, we may not survive this RED INK.

I HAVE TO APOLOGIZE TO EVERYBODY...FOR SOME REASON, BLOGGER'S BEEN DOING THIS TO ME LATELY; IT DOESN'T SHOW ALL THE COMMENTS, THEN SUDDENLY THEY ALL SHOW UP, SO THEY MUST BACK UP SOMEWHERE IN THEIR SYSTEM (OR THE WHITE HOUSE?:-)

I'M NOT DELETING, JUST IN CASE ANYBODY THINKS I AM...MOST OF YOU KNOW ME BETTER THAN TO THINK THAT, BUT I THOUGHT I'D JUST MENTION THIS.

SORRY TO THOSE OF YOU 7, SO FAR, WHO'VE COMMENTED....IT SHOULD SHOW UP SOON.
GOD SPEED. XXX

WOW...re my previous comment, I think Blogger could be busy! I have almost 500 visits already today and it's because Google's throwing them to my place under Jon David (the music post below!)

Please BUY HIS SONG...we have to support him and I'm thrilled so many people have come from Google to see my piece...
talk him up, buy his music! We need to support patriots who take this big a risk in the new Liberal McCarthyist atmosphere of this new America.

That's a brilliant depiction of the problem, Z. The only way to get rid of the red ink is to replace it with black ink to be gotten from production of oil, for instance. Who are those dolts pretending that "Drill, baby, drill" must be off the table for consideration?

Yikes, Z, do you think this "net neutrality" thingy is coming home to roost — routing blog posts through the official censor?

Well, Waylon, I'm glad your comment printed!
I don't think that's happening but I have to wonder at the bloggers I know who've been shut down with very little (and ridiculous) reason.....
I hope that's not happening, that's for sure, but when you see the ridiculous bias of Google, Yahoo, etc., what's to stop them from getting Blogger, too? These are young, indoctrinated people who are watching us all......sure, they don't want us around.

Just going to wipe out some wet lands, wildlife, fishing grounds, tourism and a lot of peoples livelihoods but what the hell.

There's an oil spill in the gulf? What? I can still drive all I want can't I? Whew, then no problem.

Notice how Pris assumes it's an accident (despite BP's abysmal safety record) before there's been an investigation. Yeah, accidents happen.

"They'll fix it. The fix everything". Kind of liked that line from Robocop. So let's all tip our caps to Omni Consumer Products and their successful oil drilling program. And we can all go out and buy a Sux 2000. That really was a fun film. Kinda caught the other side of the coin after "Brazil".

Nice illustration. The whole world is tanking because of unsustainable lefty policies. I am starting to think it could be a good thing. A good cleanser. Back to basics: family, community, hard work and no over-educated psycho-babble a la Ducky, Holder or Obama. I suggest we all get ready for it: don't spend too much, increase your skill set, etc... I'm glad I have no mortgage and no debt.

Z said...

I've written to Blogger and hope to clear up why some of your comments aren't publishing...I see under the article on my home page that more of you are writing comments than are publishing here on the Comments Page, so hang tight.
thanks.

My comment actually disappeared.

"Just going to wipe out some wet lands, wildlife, fishing grounds, tourism and a lot of peoples livelihoods but what the hell. "

Same logic applies to your comments about female genital cutting. "What the hell" is pretty much how your point of view can be summarized.

I don't think anybody here is happy about the oil spill. It's horrible what happened. We don't deny it.

But the red spill has killed more people in history than the oil spill.

Z said...

FB, your comment was here then disappeared? REALLY?

Greywolfe, your comment wasn't here originally, so something's REALLY off with Blogger. Glad it finally published ..weird. And yes, truth in comedy.

IHS, you're wishful thinking, tax payers won't see money, they're just seeing DEBT...it's just that all that red ink of being in debt is spreading through the country ...worse than the oil spill could affect us.
Maybe LA SUNSETT'S take is even better than mine.

DUCKY, again, the whole concept I'm presenting escapes you. weird.

The Obama administration gave the Deepwater Horizon rig a safety award last year. Start your investigation there.

there was a spill in the 70s that went on for 9 months.

Ducky, it's a simple rule of logical thought: Any productive machine requires lubrication for optimal production. Stop or interfere with oil production and ultimately you fine the wheels of production and commerce stopping.

IMO, it's a good thing there are no polar bears in the Gulf of Mexico — then you's really have a ballistic conniption fit.

Z said...

Actually, thanks for reminding me, Beamish...(and Elbro, that sounds familiar, that old spill that lasted so long)...yes, the Obama people demanded no studies by BP, no environmental studies, no plans for what to do if this happened..ZILCH.
But, hey, they got $70K for his campaign from BP, so...you know :-)

Also, I heard a CNN 'expert' say that they're not sure there IS that much oil, that lots of it is "surface slick", which is what our fellow Blogger Jingoist's been trying to say. hmmm

LASunsett said...

I have modified Beamish's comment with my addition in bold:

BP gave money to Obama's campaign in 2008. The Obama administration gave the Deepwater Horizon rig a safety award last year. Start your investigation there.

Completely overlooked is that this is not the heavy crude that the Exxon Valdez spilled. It is a lighter oil, more likely to evaporate and easier to burn off. It is bad, any accident where life is lost is a tragedy, but it is being blown way out of proportion for political gain.
More scary than the oil spill is the utter delight that the Libs seem to take in it.

Elmers Brother said...

and the environmental wackos are why we are drilling in DEEP water in the first place

is Obama going to tell China, Vietnam and everybody else they have to stop drilling in the Gulf?

idiot

Z said...

LASUNSETT...an award? is that right? I knew they'd not been forced to file any safety reports or plans, but an AWARD! Wow, see what $70K will get you with this WH?

Mona...I had heard that, too...WHY isn't somebody writing about that? Jingoist (on my blog roll) did a piece about how the oil spill isn't quite the danger they'd making it out to be AND even CNN's 'expert' said the spill is somehow mostly very thin and surface-superficial..But, without young journalists TRAINED TO THINK and not just INDOCTRINATED, we can't even get any information let alone a real PROBE.

Elbro..that depressed me :-( You're so right. The implications are dizzying
