Obama is humiliating

“Am I wringing as much bias out of myself as I can?”  Obama says we should be asking ourselves this question;  did you hear him this morning?
I am TIRED of being told I'm biased.  There are Black people in my life, relatives and students, who I love way more than many whites in my life.   And I'll bet you're just the same.

He gives his and Michelle's sympathy to the Trayvon Martin family.  I wonder if it even occurred to him to give any support to the Zimmerman family which will never be the same?  Remember the cops testified Zimmerman was crushed that he'd killed the kid...who wouldn't be?  It's been pretty well proven that this was not about race but we have a president who is bringing race up again;  maybe Obama should apologize to Zimmerman about that?   His heart goes out to the Martin family, and that's nice, but to not even mention the difficult time the Zimmermans have had, too?

He says "There are very few African-Americans who haven’t had the experience of getting on an elevator and a woman clutching her purse nervously and holding her breath until she had a chance to get off. That happens often."   That's true.  I wonder why Whites don't often feel that way about Whites?  Just because we're racist?  Or based on some experience?  ya think?

He adds "We understand that some of the violence that takes place in poor black neighborhoods around the country is born out of a very violent past in this country, and that the poverty and dysfunction that we see in those communities can be traced to a very difficult history."  So, poverty and dysfunction are history's fault?  Nothing else?

And then, he has to include "You know, I’m not naive about the prospects of some brand-new federal program."   No, Mr. Obama, we know you're never naive about the chance for a brand-new federal program, BELIEVE me.

Has Obama bothered to consider Zimmerman:
  • ... and a black friend opened up an insurance office in Florida...
  • ...had engaged in notably un-racist behaviour such as taking a black girl to his high-school prom..
  • ....not only has black relatives, and has reportedly donated his time to tutoring black children.
  • ...launched a campaign to help a homeless black man who was beaten up by a white kid.

Is Obama KIDDING?     Will he ever understand how divisive he truly is?
He says Black kids get 'negative reinforcement' but he talks in divisive ways so often?  He jumps to conclusions without facts, as he did with the Harvard Professor's case....and it took him till today to talk about helping Black young men?  REALLY?   It's only in juxtaposition to the fact that they are sometimes profiled?  How about having started out his presidential career with helping Black young men?

I'm humiliated by this president. I heard this speech (see link) on the radio this morning and found my hand over my mouth and tears in my eyes.  He'll do ANYTHING to divide.

And conquer?

Obama pisses me off on almost a daily basis, but he does not humiliate me. He is NOT my president. In fact, he is not even an American.

The problem is the definition of racism has been broadened way too much.

Let me give you an example. I was told once by a client that being French could be an issue b/c she had this idea of unreliable or lazy French people. That's in a way a prejudice. Should've I considered her xenophobic? Not really.

Now let's say I'm a black French. Does that make it racist?

The first definition of racism on Webster is:
"a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race"

The second one is "racial prejudice or discrimination."

Now let's look at the definition of prejudice that would apply in that case:

"an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics"

Hostility, discrimination. Being tense in the elevator is fear. It's not hostility, nor it is discrimination.

Another definition of prejudice is:

"preconceived judgment or opinion (2) : an adverse opinion or leaning formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge"

Knowing the prison statistics, is it then a preconceived judgment or is it a fear based on some grounds?

I was personally harassed several times by French of Arab origin in France as a kid. It never turned into a fight but it could have at one occasion. So obviously after a few times you get cautious and a bit paranoid when running into thug looking teenagers. But that doesn't make you a racist.

Z, he and they are one serious POS.
The hypocrisy, one-sidedness, dictatorial, ironic, anti-American, total non-understanding of law, insane crap that comes out of his mouth is unreal.

But the dems don't care. Not a one. Keep the money flowing.

Kid said...

As much as he supposedly cares about Trayvon he DOESN'T care about Ambassador Stevens. An American Ambassador living in a hellhole, probably somewhat comfortably, but still.

And how about American kids or all color coming back from his war in Afghanistan without various limbs. I wonder if any of those kids might look like his son if he had one.
Or how about any of the 500 kids a year shot and killed in Chicago with illegal guns. Any of those ?
Unreal.
What's even more unreal is he believes he can get away with spouting this bullshit.
Even more unreal is he can.

PSS - I agree with Mustang. that POS has nothing to do with me. Just let someone call him My president to my face.

He really...really needs to go. he's just lit a match to a situation that we've been trying our damnedest to rectify for 50 GD years.

If there was any doubt that this man is a race baiting POS along with his criminal AG Earache Holder...it damn sure can be put to rest now.

So the POS chooses to make one black kid ( yes another stat in a long list of them ) and ignores the 9000 blacks a year that are murdered by their own?

These murders exceed the deaths of all of our finest killed in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past 10 years.

A sorry...nasty POS. If I saw him ...I'd lock my car doors and home up too. Next the azzwipe will be wearing a hoodie and a TM T shirt and be arm and arm with that whore Fat Al?

We need to give him a steel brush bath...he's so damn dirty. A marxist turd through and through.

He says that TM could have been him 35 years ago? How I wish...how I wish...we'd never be where we are today or this low.

Four Charts That Prove Obama’s Right About Being Black In America

http://thinkprogress.org/justi...

1. Justified killings of Black people under ‘Stand Your Ground.’ PBS’s Frontline made this instructive chart on the way that defendants who invoke ‘Stand Your Ground’ — the policy that allowed George Zimmerman to walk free on the night that he killed Trayvon Martin — fare. PBS explains, “The figures represent the percentage likelihood that the deaths will be found justifiable compared to white-on-white killings.” The result? A huge racial disparity of when the defense works — and when it doesn’t.

2. Stop-and-Frisks of young Black men. In May, the Public Advocate for New York put out a report
detailing the way that the city’s controversial ‘Stop-and-Frisk policy is unevenly applied. Not only did it find that Blacks and Latinos make
up, on average, 85 percent of stops under the program, but it also conveyed exactly how skewed those numbers are compared to the city’s demographics.

3. Drug arrests for White and Black users. The number of White drug users is about the same
as the number of Black users — but you wouldn’t know it from the arrest statistics. In recent history, Black people have been four times as likely to be arrested on marijuana charges.

4. Death penalty for Black prisoners. In Texas, the state that accounts for the most executions in the nation, 40 percent of death row inmates are Black. That reflects a national trend; across several states that have the death penalty, Black inmates make up a hugely disproportionate number of those sentenced to death, despite Black people’s relatively small percentage of the population. But perhaps the chart that best makes the point is this, from deathpenaltyinfo.org, that shows the racial breakdown of who gets the death sentence for interracial crimes.

@Libskunk...and eggplant:

""African Americans benefit from Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law at a rate far out of proportion to their presence in the state’s population, despite an assertion by Attorney General Eric Holder that repealing “Stand Your Ground” would help African Americans.

Black Floridians have made about a third of the state’s total “Stand Your Ground” claims in homicide cases, a rate nearly double the black percentage of Florida’s population.

The majority of those claims have been successful, a success rate that exceeds that for Florida whites.

But approximately one third of Florida “Stand Your Ground” claims in fatal cases have been made by black defendants, and they have used the defense successfully 55 percent of the time, at the same rate as the population at large and at a higher rate than white defendants, according to an analysis of a database maintained by the Tampa Bay Times. ( The most loony leftist paper in Florida )

African Americans used “Stand Your Ground” defenses at nearly twice the rate of their presence in the Florida population, which was listed at 16.6 percent in 2012."

Trayvon wasn’t profiled for his skin color. But yes, Barry was unfairly profiled: by Columbia University, by Harvard U., by Harvard Law Review, by the Democratic Party, etc.

This unqualified black guy displaced others much more qualified, and now he holds an office for which he has no qualification whatsoever. This is all unfair.

Now that I’m looking at this issue through a set of experiences and a history that doesn’t go away, am I justified in always voting for a white male and being leery of every black man’s qualifications?

Obama is a bigot, and he’s agitating blacks to wallow in bigotry.

Ducky's here said...

Never been much of a fan but that was one of his better speeches and I think he was moved to be sincere for once.

It was a speech about minority experience and the way the martin shooting is understood within that experience.

If you listened he explained why the nation is talking at cross purposes.

Thersites...subsidized Skittles :-)

Mustang, exactly. I LITERALLY found myself with tears in my eyes and my fingers over my mouth this morning in the car listening to this speech...he was so awful. I just can't BELIEVE an American president would work this hard at divisiveness!

Louis...no, he is not a smart man. Or he's smart but has a VERY different plan for America than we do.

FrogBurger...it just makes you leery and careful, doesn't it. Obama mentioned in the speech that people hug their purses closer to them when a black man gets on an elevator. I'll bet these same people don't do it for a well dressed black man on his way up to his office. They do it when a young man is dressed badly or he looks like a trouble maker.
I'd hold my purse closer with a white guy like that, too, by the way.
I think you make excellent points. Thanks.

Lib...you're only staying because people still respond to you no matter what I say...
I think Imp responded to you well..
I'll just add that you are SO DAMNED STUPID:
Did it ever occur to you that more black kids just might be smokin' pot where it's obvious? Or selling it, too?
Did it ever occur to you that more blacks commit CRIMES?
I can't teach anymore; you tire me out with your inanity.

Kid! That line about the black kids coming home without limbs from war got me a little weepy again; you are so right. There are so many FANTASTIC black kids and all we hear about is the bad stuff. That's so wrong. God bless them, every one of them.
The 'bad' ones, too.
Great input, thanks.

Imp: if only Obama'd studied Booker T...instead of Frank Marshall Davis, his commie mentor.
I had dinner with a sister tonight and I said "you know, you almost can't blame Obama for not having a shred of regard for this country; what does he have in his past that made him love America?"
NOTHING.

Ducky, I agree...some of it was good; but this isn't the time. This is when fevers are high. This didn't help the black people rioting in Long Beach today, believe me.
I'd have waited a couple of weeks if I were he, unless he was hoping to fan the flames again.
And, we need someone who'd talk about the fact that more crime is committed by blacks, not "blacks are thrown into prison at higher numbers" as if they're being scooped off the streets and taken to jail just for fun.
But, yes, he did make some good points.
Still, I'd read Kid's comments above if you want to see a great counter argument.

A friend just emailed me...her grandson is in the air force in Alamagordo NM. He said that a server/servers in a restaurant have had written messages on their copy of the receipt saying "no justice, no tip". OMG, those people had nothing to do with it.

What has this started? Is this the opportunity for people to take out every perceived injustice on good people? is this what we do in America?

Z said...

Kid..'to L'...what the heck else can I do? I keep deleting, but when people respond to him, I hate to do that to the responders....makes them look stupid as if they're sounding off to nobody :-)

And, I think you know I hate to be unkind, but that kind of stupidity deserves bashing around, particularly when they use MY BLOG for lies and name calling. isn't going to happen here.

Kid said...

Z, No I was talking about your friend with the amputation going on.

As far as the other L, he/she won't answer simple questions so it doesn't even exist as far as I'm concerned.

Why post if you don't want a dialogue, so why refuse the dialogue. Idiotic and not worth the time of day.

Z said...

Oh, that "L"! Thanks, Kid.
I was just sitting here feeling a tad nervous about it...it's SO complicated; so many veins, bone, arteries, muscles..my gosh, it's a real big deal.
I'm just hoping and praying she makes it thru alright (she has a blood clotting factor that's risky, but she should be okay) and that the pain won't be too terrible. She's heard it's quite intense.
When she had the original surgery 34 years ago which completely screwed up the vascular system in her arm, she was given Percodan and the docs didn't know it was addictive. Would you believe she got herself off the addiction after a year of taking something like 10 a DAY? The doc wouldn't listen to her when she kept telling him she thought she was going insane with mood swings, etc...and he just said "It's not the drug, keep taking it!"
So, she went down to 9, then 8..etc..very slowly....she told me the last pill was cut into such tiny bits "you wouldn't believe it"...and she weaned herself of the addiction in about 12 months.
She a very strong woman.

Kid said...

Very interesting story on the addiction. People do have wildly differing abilities regards addictions.

It was a speech about minority experience and the way the martin shooting is understood within that experience.

I'm sure that experience is valid as far being profiled. Dennis Prager had a black conservative female caller that said the same thing today.

But again, this isn't racism. Rational or not, it's fear.

It's sad to me that something that started as a misunderstanding and huge screw-up is turning into this drama. The United States is the only country on Earth where people of all kinds and religions can coexist and yet I've never seen so much division at the same time.

Always On Watch said...

I have listened to the entire speech twice.

I do wish that BHO had reversed the order of the speech. For example, if he had mentioned an individual doing soul searching about his own racism first, the speech might not have come across as divisive as it was.

I note that the clips played most often now by the mainstream media are those portions most divisive.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that Obama's skin color is as close to or closer to that of George Zimmerman than Trayvon Martin's.

I must say the potions about door locks and elevators rang true, but he should have placed more emphasis on why many -- not only whites, BTW -- react in that manner.

That black BASTARD is far worse than Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson combined because of the size of his audience/minions. He has almost single-handedly set race relations in this country back 50 years. Shit, I was in Vietnam in 1968 and I can tell you from first-hand experience that the aftermath of the Zimmerman verdict is just as bad as those turbulent weeks following MLK's assassination were. Worse yet, is that this current fiasco will undoubtedly last a MUCH longer time. Obummer WILL go down in history as the worst President we have ever or will ever have! He makes Jimmy Carter look like a rocket scientist.

If you would like to develop a better understanding of the word TRAGEDY, this article from The Enclyclopaedia Britannica is sure to help.

http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/601884/tragedy

EXCERPT: Although the word tragedy is often used loosely to describe any sort of disaster or misfortune, it more precisely refers to a work of art that probes with high seriousness questions concerning the role of man in the universe. The Greeks of Attica, the ancient state whose chief city was Athens, first used the word in the 5th century BC to describe a specific kind of play, which was presented at festivals in Greece. ... The atmosphere surrounding the performances was more like that of a religious ceremony than entertainment. ... Most of the material was derived from the works of Homer and was common knowledge in the Greek communities. So powerful were the achievements of the three greatest Greek dramatists—Aeschylus (525–456 BC), Sophocles (c. 496–406 BC), and Euripides (c. 480–406 BC)—that the word they first used for their plays survived and came to describe a literary genre that, in spite of many transformations and lapses, has proved its viability through 25 centuries. ...
