Credit Cards to Illegals by Bank of America.........this will make your blood boil, or it should

Maybe you've seen this, but I got it sent to me today and it's verifiable (if you trust snopes, I don't much anymore, but they must have found no way to get around this truth)...and I wanted it on my blog. Again, is it REALLY "Racist" or is it just plain ILLEGAL and DANGEROUS? (Also, I urge you to read the SNOPES link shown down below because it says a LOT more about terrorism and taxes and how this practice by BofA is such a bad one: But, you decide........

Bank of America, can I help you?

Customer: Yes, I want to cancel my account. I don't want to do business with you any longer.

The Bank: Why?

Customer: You're giving credit to illegal immigrants and I don't think it's right. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

The Bank: Well, Mr. Customer, we don't want to see you do that, but we can't stop you. I'll help you close the account. What is your account number?

Customer: (gives account number)

The Bank: For security purposes and for your protection, can you please give me the last four digits of your social security number?

Customer: No?

The Bank: Mr. Customer, I need to verify your information, but in order to help you, I'll need verification of who you are..

Customer: Why should I give you my social security number? The reason I'm closing my account is that your bank is issuing credit cards to illegal immigrants who don't have social security numbers. You are targeting that audience and want their business. Let's say I'm an illegal immigrant and you've given me a credit card. I have a question about it and call for assistance. You wouldn't be asking me for a Social Security number, would you?

The Bank: No sir, I wouldn't.

Customer: Why not?

The Bank: Because you would have pressed '2' to speak in Spanish. We don't ask for that information when calling in on the Spanish line.

If it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, then forward it to every human in the country including every representative in Washington , DC
four times a week for a month.

I am far less concerned with an illegal immigrant owning a credit card provided they make timely payments than I am of a legal resident of this country who does nothing of the sort. To be certain, it is the latter group who's irresponsibility directly affects the interest rates of responsible card holders.

Right, Soapbox, and the snopes piece has more information which makes the credit card more dangerous than I'd thought, too.
I blame those who hand out the credit cards (and mortgages) to ANYBODY without proof of ability to pay, regardless of illegality.

DREADFUL!

And, Z, you're absolutely right in your response to SB.

It's the DOUBLE STANDARD that works incessantly against natural-born, English-speaking white American citizens that gets me.

I'm sorry, but my blood can't boil. It BOILED AWAY a long, LONG time ago -- when I first became aware of what liberals were systematically doing to us,

Have you been looking at the makeup of SCOTUS lately. Not ONE White Anglo-Saxon Protestant in sight -- not ONE.

The people who FOUNDED this country have been effectively DISENFRANCHISED.

Don't WE deserve representation TOO?

Why do you advocate a restraint of trade? Shouldn't Bof A be able to issue a card to whomever they deem fit?

Illegal uses the card and purchases an item that has a sales tax. One way to tax them.

Why not learn a little Spanish, press "2" and start canceling credit cards, like the guy did on "Midnight Run"

I've heard they are going to use Credit Cards as Identity Cards ... If you can get a Credit Card, you will be considered legal ...

Anonymous, thanks...if every read the snopes bit, they'd see it's not quite as benign as it sounds.

I just didn't want to post the whole thing due to space restrictions...

Ducky, some things aren't worth any amount of tax.

FT....I've got no problem with the makeup of the SCOTUS

John Roberts
(Chief Justice) Catholic
Stephen G. Breyer Jewish
Ruth Bader Ginsburg Jewish
Anthony M. Kennedy Catholic
Antonin Scalia Catholic
David H. Souter Episcopalian
John Paul Stevens Protestant
Clarence Thomas Catholic
Samuel Alito Catholic

Of course, Stevens is out now...and Kagan is Jewish.
I personally don't feel unrepresented by any of them....

We have to pray that Ginsberg doesn't retire, but I think she will this year or next. Then, that's it for America...literally.
We now have a president who thinks the SCOTUS must bend to congress and the people. You can't make this stuff up..and him, a constitutional "SCHOLAR"? What a laugh.

Ever tried to get anything in this country without a SS number if you're LEGAL or have a green card? I can't get my name on a condominium board of directors signatory card without my SS number! Now THAT is hypocritical on BofA's part!

Great. The only difference between you and I at this point is, I would implement a VAT and punt the income tax.

There's no excuse for keeping an income tax when just as much revenue can be raised, with a consumption tax. It's fair to both the rich and the illegals.....to everyone. There will no skating the taxes at all.

But your idolized hero is prone to spending sprees. Along with Nanny P. and Harry Re, he is salivating at how much more money he will be able to spend before the coming election.

He'll want to have both. He can't help himself.

Not about this, but a census taker came by today, about 2 hours ago, one of the overpaid ones. I answered the questions & she left. Just 10 minutes ago the doorbell rang. ANOTHER ONE! I don't think she would have believed me had I not stuck the paper the other one left in my pocket. She couldn't understand how that happened. Wanted to nkow the color of the woman's car, etc. That's real Socialized gov't. efficiency for you.

Anonymous, I had a census guy come to my door Saturday but I didn't open it..I yelled thru the door! I told him the people who lived here weren't here and he asked when they'd be back. I told them IN A WEEK :-)
Sunday, on Mother's Day with my family here, another came...
Mohammed Al something-or-other... a name like that..
Anyway, I told him I'd sent my form in six weeks or so ago........ "OH, they must not have scanned it"
I said that really wasn't my concern but that was the last one I was filling out...He said he'd call me and get the information.
Let him try.
So, I had TWO notices telling me the form's coming, TWO telling me "YOu should have got it by now" and I sent it in, and I've had TWO census takers within 2 days at my home?

Banks should be ashamed. They ask for my SSN when I apply. So technically they should not give credit cards if the SSN is fraudulent. Oh wait, banks gave money to people with falsified income. If they can't pay, not a big deal. We'll just bail them out. And I here blame both Republicans and Democrats.

Shoprat: "... So non-citizens get more consideration than citizens. Why?"

SG: Well ... It's all about business.

See the big Credit Card Corps couldn't get the ILLEGAL business if they didn't deregulate (or have less regulations) for them. Government is about regulating the few powerful, for the benefit of the less powerful and wealthy many ... Corporations (R) about limiting them 'regs' for the benefit of a few ... Oh and for the trickle down effect.

So there Shoprat .... Welcome to the 'government is bad' Corporate Agenda, of Katrina, deregulated-Banks-financial-collapse, deregulated or unregulated subprime loans and the collapse of your home value, deregulated-Cheney-Big-Oil-deepsea-drilling (where we don't need no stinkin' acoustic valve shutoff the rest of the REGULATED world uses and that would have prevented blowout in the Gulf). under-regulated Coal mines, etc ...

FrogB: "... And I here blame both Republicans and Democrats."

Anon: The most rational position in my mind!

However, your electoral system is mostly to blame, or is the critical lynch pin. Without publicly funded elections, politicians become captive of those who'll finance their campaigns ... the wealthy with the disposable income to do so.

Apparently you can not run a Congressional campaign unless you got a $1,000,000.00 ... Consequently, when a newbie Congressman's feet hit the floor, from day 1, they have to start fund raising for their next election.

I believe this single factor alone is responsible for the loss of the USA democracy and it's supplanting with a Plutocracy.

I see your Census inefficiency and raise you a Katrina, a No WMD, a KBR electrocuting US soldiers in showers, a BP wiping out coastlines, fisheries, tourism, thousands of jobs and livelihoods, a privatized profit/socialized loses deregulated Banking System ...

Essentially there's worse and worser, and the worse (the government regulated) is the one you have more say in, particularly if you could make your vote count more by making the electoral system about 1 person/1vote, as opposed to $1/1 vote and many $/many votes ...

However, just keep on with fascist-socialist-birther Obama stuff, and you won't have opportunity to increase the power of the Citizen over the power of the $ ... i.e. Dollarocracy and 'f(R)ee-dumb'

American democracy is broken. European socialism is going down the toilet right now and America is bailing the lazy butts over there while China is bailing us out.
Big losses for the Western civilization. Pretty much the end, unless we have a major awakening and almost start from scratch. I just believe it's the end for the whole west at this point. Just natural cycles of history.

Yes ... Relatively, the Western world is on the downward slide, but even using your perspective FrogB, the length and depth of the decline is yet to be determined.

Another way to describe this same phenomenon, is the Asian world is on the incline, but does that necessarily mean 'absolute' US decline?

An economy organized for people vs. corporations, might mean a second place USA wouldn't have to be all that bad.

A British anthropologist friend of my described the British Empire as one largely created by merchants who went into foreign territories for 'plunder', then demanded British military support. It was the cost of supporting this empire which consumed much of the British coffers.

Similarly, if American citizens can not see the role and effect of corporations upon their democracy, and their free choice to create the future they want, then as you pessimistically describe, it is over, soon and fast.

It is over because nothing is sutainable. Too much debt (our) financing the debt (Europe). It will require higher taxes, which will kill growth. We're in a very vicious spiral. I don't see how we can fix it, honestly. All that money being printed for Greece, and then maybe Spain, Portugal will only create more inflation in the meantime.

As much as I believe in the strength of the American people, I believe the situation is way too compromised for a real and swift comeback.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

I think it's awesome that illegals get credit cards. They can run up the charges on the cards buying Taco Bell and default on the debt, and ultimately China pays for it. We should replace the welfare system with it.

YES. Great idea! We should ALL become "illegals," because our GOVERNMENT has acted the slave master, thief, sadistic prison guard, and Mother-in-law from hell.

What SANE person would WANT to work WITHIN and FOR the corrupt depraved system we have allowed the knaves and fools to devise in the last hundred years?

The government has not been working "with the consent of the governed" for a very long time.

If it can't be dissolved, it must be IGNORED.

Take your money and GO UNDERGROUND.

To HELL with the Dictators and Dictatorettes in Dee Cee!

DON'T play their rotten game.

SUPPORT Illegals -- and become ONE of THEM.

Illegals are NOT the problem -- the GOVERNMENT is.

Mankind emerged from the primordial ooze and slime savage, imperiled but FREE. Over countless thousands of years we literally scratched a living from the DIRT. Ever-so-gradually we built Civilizations. Unfortunately, the larger, more structured and hierarchical they have become, the more they resemble PRISONS.

It's time to REVERT to a more PRIMITIVE stage of life.

When the Law ceases to serve the best interests of the INDIVIDUAL, it should cease to be the Law.

GO BREWER!!

"PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed a bill targeting a school district's ethnic studies program, hours after a report by United Nations human rights experts condemned the measure.
State schools chief Tom Horne, who has pushed the bill for years, said he believes the Tucson school district's Mexican-American studies program teaches Latino students that they are oppressed by white people.
Public schools should not be encouraging students to resent a particular race, he said. The Tucson Unified School District program offers specialized courses in African-American, Mexican-American and Native-American studies

What's missing from that picture? Adam's Washington, Jefferson, Madison....all those old...white guys courses.

"If their data shows they profit from issuing the cards, why is it irresponsible."

So Ducky let me get this straight. Profiling is OK if it's to make money, but not if it's to enforce the law, is that right?

Furthermore, if an establishment knows illegal immigrants cannot have a legal social security number, and that ID fraud is in play, isn't that participating in a criminal act?

Has anyone here who believes capitalism is the best system, said it's acceptable to participate in illegal activity?

Since the government seems to condone, or encourage banks giving credit to lawbreakers who deal in ID fraud, doesn't that make the government complicit in the crime?

And, if the government is complicit, what makes you think government central control of our economy is preferable to a free market?

Finally, our current administration is as corrupt as they get. They blithely abrogated legal contracts as they took over financial institutions.

They are now talking of taking over people's 401Ks and IRAs and offering "government retirement payments", many of which are made up of funds garnered through private companies, and individuals themselves, to name two examples.

Yet you put your faith in the government over free people, who at least if they commit a crime, are punishable by the law. Who is going to punish the government?

Just asking!

Pris

Ducky's here said...

Pris, what law is B of A breaking? Whether you like it or not (and they don't give two warm farts in hell) they will issue the cards if they feel it is profitable.
As for the current administration being any more corrupt than most, especially the last. That's just Bagger trash talk.
B of A started issuing cards during the Chucklenuts administration, dear heart. So once again this is nothing substantive but just an opportunity for Bagger trash talk.

Oh, thank that dipstick St. Ronnie Raygun for fixing the whole thing with his amnesty. When you get around to figuring out what the rethugs have ever done about the issue, let us know.

But they sure did flood the place under Bush, didn't they? Why?

Z said...

Ducky, when you read the link in my post about why giving credit cards to illegal's a bad idea, come back and argue.

As for amnesty, Reagan was WRONG. We all heard that some in all administrations of the last 30 years were afraid the Mexicans were going to implode, sending maybe millions over the borders and they said that turning a blind eye would 'release the pressure' or some ridiculous thing. Well, now we have 13 million illegals and the pressure's building and they'll probably implode anyway.
By the way, it IS Republicans who've been pushing for the fence which was supposed to be built..whatever happened?

It's also Republicans realizing the AZ law is the right thing to do.......why Dems just can't protect this country is beyond me.

YOu can't blame Republicans for this one and you know it. Anyway, let's start stopping the partisan blame and fixing things.
