OBAMA RUSHES TO LOUISIANA....a week and a half later?

Look at that anger, that resolve, the intensity and determination to FIX things on that face! :-) WHAT A GUY, right? SAVING THE DAY!!?
Yes, that's the picture Yahoo uses for its article on Obama's treatment of the oil spill near Louisiana....inside it says....

"Obama rushed to southern Louisiana to inspect forces arrayed against the oil gusher as Cabinet members said the situation was grave and insisted the administration was doing everything it could."
"Obama defended his administration's response to the explosion on the BP rig that unleashed what is now believed to be at least 5,000 barrels a day of oil spilling into the Gulf. He says that "from day one ... we have prepared for the worst while we have hoped for the best." :-)
This happened........ April 21st. Obama RUSHED there on May 2nd!!? The article neglects to give the date of the explosion...nor does it mention this is the first time Obama'd gone near the area to survey anything.......since April 21st...um, a week and a half ago.
Bush got crap for 'only' flying over Katrina two days after it happened. Obama gets a pass because "from DAY ONE...." they "prepared for the worse.." Obama "RUSHED"? Is our media KIDDING?
geeeeeZ

Yahoo News, right? Big shocker.

So how long would Obama have had to take to have been too slow, I wonder?

FrogBurger said...

I am blaming more the media than him. I know you have to do face time but I don't think his presence would have fixed the leak. And we didn't know it would become so bad a week ago. Unlike Katrina where we knew it would be a disaster.

I can't believe I'm giving him a break :) I think it's because I'm tired of the blame game on both sides.

It's Ducky's fault anyway.

Maybe we should ask the MSM to define "rush" because that is an understatement. However, coming from Yahoo, or any other liberal news media this isn't surprising.

Can you imagine if this happened under the Bush administration? Words would be flying.

If the spill gets as bad as the one caused by the left-wing socialist Saddam Hussein in the Persian Gulf (11 million barrels) we may see rallies from the left-wing in support of Obama.

It's probably good that it took that long for him to get there. Keep him out of the way, and get the mess cleaned up!

Yes, if Mr. Bush had still been president, he would have been blamed. Let's continue to blame him.

Do we miss him yet?

So... Barack Obama doesn't care about black people?

Great joke
--
A teacher asked her 6th grade class how many of them were Obama fans.

Not really knowing what an Obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny .

The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different... again.

Little Johnny said, "Because I'm not an Obama fan."

The teacher asked, "Why aren't you a fan of Obama?" Johnny said, "Because I'm a Republican."

The teacher asked him why he's a Republican. Little Johnny answered, "Well, my Mom's a Republican and my Dad's a Republican, so I'm a Republican."

Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, "If your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would that make you?"

With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, "That would make me an Obama fan."

So soon?

What was his hurry?

No need to worry. With the media in his corner, he can let some czar keep him updated while he plays more golf before the storms come tomorrow.

Drudge ran a picture of Michelle looking out a plane window ala Bush yesterday. Today is even better. Go check out the picture of Obama

Chuck, the one where he's eating something? I don't see which you're referring to!?

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6423OK20100503

I did see that Iran thinks we're shameful for threatening nukes..God, please don't let Obama know that......iran also says we should be punished; no telling WHAT Obama might do since I'm pretty sure he'd agree.

Chuck said...

Z, look at the picture in the context of the headlines immediately below it. It's a stark contrast - party Obama who is saying he cares and is devoting all of his time to the spill.

Z,
I don't think that either Bush or Obama are to blame for their responses. It is folly to expect the federal government to respond to a situation that the state and local government should respond to.

Get out of the way and allow BP to take care of it. They're responsible for the machinery. Just like a college student and a parent, send money and don't come down with it.

Z said...

Janie, I guess that's it...eating something red?

Chuck, I agree, but he's always putting SOMETHING in his mouth, usually his FOOT. Imagine him joking about the rain in Louisiana when he's discussing the oil rig disaster?

The very fact that most of the media's given him a free ride that he DIDN'T "RUSH" there makes me SO mad...even the NYTimes isn't complimentary, imagine? But, mostly, nothing in the network news....after all the (#@$&*(#@& they gave Bush for going a day and a half later? WOW.
But, of course, the OBAMA WH had it under control from "DAY ONE!" :-)

Z said...

Law and Order, you have a point..but it's the hypocrisy I'm mostly singling out. I don't think a SHRED of good's done by especially a know-nothing like Obama...what good does it do that he's flying overhead? ANY? Or Bush for that matter.

But, our country's become SO ALL ABOUT "GOTCHA" that we're REALLY suffering now ....insults seem to be more important than DOING ANYTHING, then GETTING THINGS FIXED.

remember, Bush said he didn't want to land because he'd only get in the way, and he was right...

I just hurt for our country at the media hypocrisy and that so many people still have ANY faith in OBAMA.

This is another convenient "crisis". This administration lives off of crises. If there isn't one they'll create one.

What this is, is a difficult disaster. What this is, is the cause of eleven deaths which seems to be lost in the hysteria. That is a true tragedy.

Having said all this, in time, when the clean up is done, nature will do it's thing, and the area will come back.

What this is not, is an excuse to stop all drilling in the gulf. Other countries haven't stopped.

What this is not, is an excuse to throw up our hands and say "I give up". That's not the American way.

However President Obama doesn't understand or want the American way. He understands this is another way to lower our sights, and to accept less than success in energy independence, and to adopt the less is more mantra, which also is not the American way.

Finally no doubt this is BP's fault and they shall be demonized. It really won't matter what the fault is. Someone has to be blamed.

Accidents happen, but that won't be acceptable. We may never even know the truth, which seems to be a rare commodity these days.

My only question now is, what will the next crisis be, for we know there will be one!

Pris, at Brooke's blog, there's Ducky saying to STOP ALL DRILLING because of this...couldn't you have just waited for that typical liberal response?

YOu make an excellent observation: We saw the grief stricken families from the WVA coal mine tragedy.......what of the personal story behind this horrid rig explosion? ELEVEN MEN died...we saw NOTHING here in California, at least......and, in California, we saw plenty on the families of the mine disaster. I wonder what's up? Maybe the media's just too tied up with BLAMING BP and COVERING FOR THAT "RUSH" of Obama's to get there 1 1/2 weeks after the fact, huh?

Anonymous said...

By the time Obama is finished with true Americans, we'll all be grateful for a little lubrication.

Anonymous said...

Z, No, I couldn't wait for Ducky. You know I'm impatient, besides I believe in premption!!

Is Ducky ever unpredictable? Uh uh!

Pris

FrogBurger said...

Ducky symbolizes the left. The exception, not the rules, lead policies. One oil spill and we should top oil. 10% of poor people while 90% are fine and we need to redistribute wealth. Etc... They think life can and should be perfect. They haven't figured it out yet.

Z said...

FrogBurger, we certainly share that opinion,...that is SO TRUE.

Mustang!! MUSTANG!!!!!??

Pris, so true!

The Times Square car bomber was caught and taken into custody while trying to leave the country.
I'm sure that Obama wanted it to be that "White Guy changing his shirt in Times Square". They were way out in front with that one. But hey, guess what? It was a naturalized Pakistani who just came back from 5 glorious months in Pakistan where he was on a training trip learning the finer points of bomb making. Except this putz was asleep during the fertilizer seminar. Why, the astute and esteemed Eric Holder actually used the "T" word when describing him. So did Robert Gibbs, Administration "press Secretary and and recent winner of the Joe Biden award for Dumbest Man in the Administration. That two times in four and a half months that we got lucky. These guys were caught because their bombs didn't go off, not because of anything Homeland Security did. Gee, and we were told how incompetent George Bush was even though nothing like this happened under his watch in the seven years following 9/11. I wonder if Eric Holder made sure to read this guy his rights?! Poor, poor Obama, he so wanted it to be a crazed right wing white man, from the Tea Party movement...
How long will it take the Lame Stream Media to finally make the announcement that sweet Faisal is a devout member of that "religion of peace" and not a Tea Party member!

Just wanted to post a message to mention that today is my 11-year anniversary of being in the best country on the planet. Still is. For how long, I don't know.

It's my Quatro de Mayo. My independence day from Socialist France.

I posted an article in another blog about the flooding in TN...the Grande Ole Opry House is damaged!Anyway, another poster asked a relevant question: Where is FEMA? I thought..you know, I don't think I have heard O even speak about the 29 dead and the flooding...and there might be more dead found when the waters recede. Did HE call it an emergency and send FEMA and I just missed it?

Hi, Pati!
My gosh, I hadn't even considered that Obama's said nothing about the flooding and the deaths......or if FEMA is there or not.
Well...it's not New Orleans, let's face it.
