Donna Summer's very "Last Dance"........

She added such a lot to my life and, probably, to yours....I picked the image above because she was more than the big haired disco queen........she set the bar for many marvelous future performers.   Rest in peace, Donna, and may God comfort your family.

I heard the news this morning, one of the doctor's got a text. I heard that she was a Christian? If that is true, than she is now singing and dancing with our Lord.

I hated disco, but there were a few songs I actually liked that she sang.

RIP, Ms. Summer.

Miss Summer was a Christian, Leticia. When the HIV pandemic began, and everyone was looking around for answers, Miss Summer opined that perhaps the AIDS virus was a curse upon homosexuals for violating God’s strictures. Naturally, the gay Nazi whackos threw a hissy fit, never being a group of people willing to take responsibility for their aberrant behavior.

Summer lost quite a bit of money for that comment, but I don’t think she ever recanted. For that, I’m proud of her.

As a singer, she had an incredible voice.

She will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear about this. Mr. Pris and I loved to dance, and Donna Summer was the queen of disco.

I didn't dislike disco at all, because it was great to dance to. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and Donna Summer sang it like no one else could! Plus she seemed like such a nice person, likable and sincere.

Yes, she was a Christian.

Sam, apparently she denies having said anything that strong, but she did publicly proclaim her faith in Christ. And yes, whether she said it or not, the whackos would seize on the chance that a big start MIGHT have and try go shut her down.

She did have an incredible voice, you're right.

Leticia, you're too young to have liked Disco. There was no more fun feeling than being 25 and on the dance floor with "Brick House" and all the other great stuff we danced to ! :-)
Do you dislike the SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER album?? That is SO GOOD! But, I'd be interested in knowing if that turns you off?

Bunk, she sure will.

Hi, Pris...I was writing as you were! And we pretty much said the same thing; those were VERY fun days of dancing, weren't they!

Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summers, Kool & the Gang. KC and the Sunshine Band, Tavares, Village People....yep...some fun days in the late 70's learning how to dance to the new beats.

Very sad news.

I was never a fan of disco. I am however a huge fan of anyone who rises to the pinnacle of their chosen path.

Yes Z, they were very fun days. The memories come flooding back, don't they?

Truly sorry to hear about Ms. Donna's passing. I hope she suffers no more and yes, she was incredible, voice wise.

Oh yes, Liked Sister Sledge, too.

I remember the disco days as well. A group of us always went to the discos. Donna Summer was a big part of that for me as well.
Whenever I hear those songs brings back memories.
I was so sad to hear the news. I didn't even know she was sick.

Disco lasted far too long.

Mosh pits over Studio 54 forever.
