A friend's daughter has sent an announcement from the University of Indiana, saying she's graduated with a "Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, Culture, and LOVE"
and "LOVE?" Have you any idea what that means?
Seriously...have you heard of this?

Are you sure it's Indiana? Sounds like something right out of San Francisco in the 60's lol.
Actually, I'm not opposed to it, provided it has little to do with sex.
Two thoughts:
1. Does she have an engagement ring?
2. I guess the university was afraid to put the word "kumbaya" on the degree.
Sounds like I should have gone to the University of Indiana instead of the University of New Mexico. That gives the term "all nighter" a completely new meaning.
Just part of the mad rush to dumb down our Universities.
All your comments are fantastic, thanks!
hermit, "all nighter", sure does!
AOW, no engagement ring, no.
She's a really decent, nice young woman...very beautiful and bright. This threw me for a loop; it's clearly nothing SHE chose. some "Degree" name.
I'm with Chuck: Sounds to me like yet another useless degree from which one would have trouble finding a job. IMagine having to tell a boss "...and LOVE?"
Well, I guess it DOES depend on WHAT KIND OF JOB!? heh
I hate to be the cynic, and I hope I'm wrong, but I foresee a messy divorce in this ladies future.
BS in Communications, Culture & Love:

..I dunno, just a guess: my degree was in Chemistry. Period!
Larry, the young lady is a decent, lovely and very beautiful young woman. It's the university who dreamt up the name of the major! But, might be good if some of our lib universities would divorce themselves from OUR KIDS, right?!!
BB-Idaho...GREAT job!!!
That was a little harsh...no offense intended. But why would anyone pursue a degree like that?
Everybody knows it does no good to study love...it's too elusive and unpredictable to reduce down to a clinical study. I prefer wading in blindly and being clobbered by circumstance. : )
I was harsh? Larry, I don't see it, but sorry if I was.
What I meant was she had no choice..
If she wanted communications, that was the choice. Imagine LOVE coming with COMMUNICATION!?
Again, sorry!!
I don't see how it has to do with communications, although I'm not opposed to it if it's in a psychology degree.
We think "love" is a matter of the heart, when in reality, it's a matter of the mind.
"romantic", huh?
Nope. Sounds like a waste of money degree to me, you know, akin to socialogy.
Well, if she's seriously studying Love, then she's obviously taking some courses in the Department of Biblical Studies.
=)
