The outcome of a special Congressional election in New York’s 20th Congressional District will likely turn on the illegal exclusion of up to 1,000 overseas military ballots, which otherwise would have tipped the race in favor of James Tedisco (R). Tedisco and Scott Murphy (D) are in a dead heat, with 77,225 votes each.
Democrats on the state elections board blocked GOP attempts to allow overseas military voting in the special election. Overseas ballots take weeks to reach voters and be returned unless special measures are taken to speed things up. But the elections officials refused to do anything to speed things up, or mail the ballots out early enough. The result is that perhaps 90 percent of the ballots will be tossed in the trash without ever being counted. (Military ballots are cast mostly for Republican candidates).
Please read the whole linked article, there are some other things that need to be known that you won't hear in the mainstream media. Though, who really cares? We're not DOING anything about this atrocious behavior. And, please, address the military votes in your comments...especially you lefties, I'd like to know how this sits with Americans on your side. I know how it sits with Americans who respect the military. This is not respecting them. And, please, FOCUS...on this information TODAY. Thanks.
BY THE WAY...fascinating that so many elections are THIS TIGHT in a country whose media is now totally lying or mischaracterizing things in favor of the Left, isn't it? I find that optimistic in a world recently full of such utter negativity.

Obviously, you know my stance on this not only unlawful, but disgusting and disrespectful display of power poltics. My question is, can we question their patriotism yet?
Does the DOD, Republican Party, or Hellooooo..anyone know we have computers now? We have online communication? Hell, we have computer voting!
Why the heck are they using regular military mail? For heaven's sake they could vote on-line, on a secure site. In California people vote early on computers.
This should have been dealt with immediately after the 2000 election. Nine long years to set up an online votimg system for our military who are on active duty.
As for those democrats, who are always crying, "every vote should count", and who want those convicted felons' votes, they throw these men and women under the bus.
Meanwhile, Al Franken and Norm Coleman are still in court fighting over which votes should count.........in April!!!

otherwise distributed to qualified military and overseas voters no later than twelve days before the election. N.Y. Elec. Law § 10-108; id. at § 11-204(4). Such ballots must be postmarked no later than the date before the special election and received no later than seven days following that election, and otherwise satisfy New York law requirements. N.Y. Elec. Law § 10-114(1); id. at § 11-212."
Will it do any good? I don't know. This is where I think state veterans groups could do the most good.
Democrats like to scream that every vote counts... Unless it means a loss for them.

It's just unthinkably vile...and dangerous. Our best and bravest are penalized with the nullification of their vote-- they who toil in horrendous conditions far from their loved ones so that those of us back home can remain safe and free (including free to vote). I've never heard of such horrendous behavior. This seems like a form of treason to me. Democrats on the NY State Elections board can actually DO this, can get away with it just because they want to? There's no overarching legal protection in place to prevent such dictatorial behavior in our country? This must be trumpeted from the rooftops. Thanks for the post, Z, it's vitally important.
The powers that now be-and -have been-are notorious for NOT counting MILITARY absentee votes-and the votes DID and DO get to the proper places ON TIME...
Now that we are all in this mess-more have AWAKENED to what this country in turning into - The slippery slide given to us in the US by BOTH parities R and D - has become an avalanche....

The left has never given a damn about our military and has sought to destroy them at each and every turn. This fact that they want to not count their votes should not surprise anyone and yet should enrage EVERYONE who reads it.
Even after being invited to express their opinion, the left cowers from this issue. I'd be ashamed if I was in their position, too.
If this country really wanted the vet's vote, they'd plan for it IN ADVANCE. Either computer voting like Pris suggests here or mailed in time, like Mustang's suggests.
ACORN could have handled this, right? But the Veteran groups CAN'T?
It'll be just like our left here to suggest that it's the vets' faults..if ACORN can do it, why can't the Vets? wait for it.
WHO IS GOING TO FIX THIS? The general election, too, ignored MANY vet votes from overseas, you all saw that in the news for the thirty seconds the msm had to expose it, then it fell down in the news cycle JUST below Wm Jeffersons' frozen money...never to be seen again.
As I've said before and will continue to in the future, the Libs will win elections by hook or crook. They have a liberal judiciary that will back them up and that ties our hands from any legal recourse.
I want every vote (well those that are cast by living humans anyways) counted. But we all know it won't happen and the people of new york won't do a damn thing about it.

Thinking that Democrats want a fair election is an illusion. They don't.
Democrats have been violating the voting rights of conservatives for decades. Their platform of voting rights for all is a lie. They are only concerned with the rights of liberals.
We keep electing this scum on the local level, in cities, counties, towns and states, who then betray us. We need to examine why we continue to do this. It is destructive.

It's easy to blame the Dems but the reality is that they are whores. They talk about the GOP disenfranchising voters but never seem to have specifics yet they have teams of lawyers to prevent other people (especially the military) from voting.
With that said, who has to take their fair share of blame? The heads of veterans groups and the military leadership. These state veterans groups should be out raising every kind of Hell until the media has to run the stories. Then the Dems will have to stop this. As far as the military leadership, they should be looking out for their troops. I find it hard to believe they cannot apply pressure somehow.
The problem with this is that too many people are sitting on their hands and allowing it to happen.
