God..... in 1 Minute and 41 Seconds?? And a Charlie Christ suggestion

AMEN!
By the way...I posted that cartoon below AND this video now mostly because I am SO TIRED of all that's going on with Obama ....I can't decide which of all the horrible things that are happening should be posted on so I decided to wait a day..........You feeling the same way? GeeeeeZ
OKAY, OKAY...After writing the above, I read my buddy Rich's MULLINGS column and he wrote some food for thought (below) that I thought you might agree with so I changed my mind about not posting anything political today:
  • Gov. Charlie Crist (I-Fl), who, until yesterday afternoon, was Gov. Charlie Crist (R-Fl) has decided, that because he can't win the Republican primary for U.S. Senate, he will run for the Senate in November as an independent.
  • I hope every person who, and every PAC which, donated money to Crist's race for the REPUBLICAN nomination sues to get his or her money back.
  • Not a bad idea...........Pay up, Charlie. Move over, Arlen.

    Obama Profiled?! :-)

The 10 reasons your Democrat friend voted Democrat.........

    10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a
gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

    9. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

    8. I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

    7. I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

    6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start
    driving a Prius.

    5. I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

    4. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

    3. I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the democrats see fit.

    2. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

    I thought I wouldn't publish No. 1, but I am going to:

NO 1. I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my ass it's unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view.

And, I'll just say I only published that No. 1 as an example of Conservatives going too far.....I mean, I AGREE with it, but it puts OFF Independents and thinking Democrats so Conservatives have to STOP THAT if they want to bring Indies and Dems on board..... the rest of the points are right but, who listens when the last one is so insulting? This list and No 10 are perfect examples to make my point that the kind of sentiment in No 1 helps the leftwingers and hurts the country because the truth in the top nine is disregarded as people fixate on the nastiness of No 1...the media would really make a point of deflecting the truth in the other points, dwelling on that one nasty one... as it constantly screeches about the DELIVERY of people like Coulter and Limbaugh because it's easier to gripe about their TONE than their facts/truth..... the last one's not needed, it's offensive and doesn't help. We have to take a higher road WHILE TELLING THE TRUTH and NOT stooping to name calling and insults but just keeping it clever and truthful as in the top 9 of the list. I hope you agree.
    Sometimes, it DOES take HONEY!

Tea Party v Immigration Protests..."notice any difference?"

Check out the video...did YOU know that, according to the leftwing talk show host, FOX NEWS made people use the "N" word (which wasn't used?!)
Can you IMAGINE what the media would have done had the TPers acted like the protesters in Arizona!? HAA!!
(THANKS, Imp!...always good to see MORE media bias because it wakes Americans up)

    Mexican Immigration Law

It's odd that Mexico is complaining about the U.S. immigration policy. Here are some of the immigration laws I've just been alerted to which are part of the Mexican constitution.....can this really BE?

    1. Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:
    2. Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32)
    3. Immigration officials must "ensure" that "immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents. (Article 34)
    4. Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37)
    5. The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he
determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38)
    6. Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:
    7. Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants. (Article 73)
    8. A National Population Registry keeps track of "every single individual who comprises the population of the country," and verifies each individual's identity. (Articles 85 and 86)
    9. A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91).
    10. Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:
    11. Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116)
    12. Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)
    13. Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons:
    14. Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117)
    15. Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118)
    16. Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned.
    17. Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,
"A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." (Article 123)
    18. Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned. (Article 125)
    19. Foreigners who "attempt against national sovereignty or security" will be deported. (Article 126)
Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:
    20. A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127)
    21. Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132)
I numbered the above points so you can discuss them more easily in COMMENTS.....and I hope you do. Imagine if WE respected ourselves enough to have laws like these? Meanwhile, our country's being destroyed by illegals and a sitting president thinks it's 'misguided' to enforce our laws (check the difference between Arizona's law and Federal Law.......I think you'll be surprised at how similar they are) And Leftwingers still wonder why "they" (those socialist nonAmericans the left's enamored with) don't like us...when we don't respect ourselves, why should "they?" "They" see Jerry Springer on many European television channels, they see a country which elected a president who apologizes for our greatness and strength and dumps on our long-time allies, and they see we don't even protect our own borders.............and they're supposed to RESPECT US let along LIKE US?!!!

By the way, I think they forgot one:
    22. If any Mexican is trafficking drugs or making other kinds of trouble, or if we can't keep supporting them, send them to America. (and, please, leftwingers, don't even suggest I'm against Mexicans...this has everything to do with behavior and sovereignty.......and, by the way, every Mexican American I KNOW is more for the Arizona laws than even I am........)

"MISS ME YET?" ........you may be surprised where he's missed....or maybe not

By Bari Weiss The Wall St Journal OPINION JOURNAL April 24, 2010, Dallas

No one seems to know precisely who is behind the "Miss Me Yet?" billboard—the cheeky one featuring a grinning George W. Bush that looks out over I-35 near Wyoming, Minn. But Syrian dissident Ahed Al-Hendi sympathizes with the thought.

In 2006, Mr. Hendi was browsing pro-democracy Web sites in a Damascus Internet café when plainclothes cops carrying automatic guns swooped in, cuffed him, and threw him into the trunk of a car. He spent over a month in prison, some of it alone in a 5-by-3 windowless basement cell where he listened to his friend being tortured in the one next door. Those screams, he says, were cold comfort—at least he knew his friend hadn't been killed.

Mr. Hendi was one of the lucky ones: He's now living in Maryland as a political refugee where he works for an organization called Cyberdissidents.org. And this past Monday, he joined other international dissidents at a conference sponsored by the Bush Institute at Southern Methodist University to discuss the way digital tools can be used to resist repressive regimes.

He also got to meet the 43rd president. In a private breakfast hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Bush, Mr. Hendi's message to the former president was simple: "We miss you." There have been "a lot of changes" under the current administration, he added, and not for the better.

Adrian Hong, who was imprisoned in China in 2006 for his work helping North Koreans escape the country (a modern underground railroad), echoed that idea. "When I was released [after 10 days] I was told it was because of very strong messaging from the White House and the culture you set," he told Mr. Bush.

The former president, now sporting a deep tan, didn't mention President Obama once on or off the record. The most he would say was, "I'm really concerned about an isolationist mentality . . . I don't think it lives up to the values of our country." The dissidents weren't so diplomatic. (Z: this is the dignity we're missing now; imagine Obama staying quiet when the other side slams his then-finished administration, Obama turning the other cheek? He can't even do it now when he really should)

Mr. Hendi elaborated on the policy changes he thinks Mr. Obama has made toward his home country. "In Syria, when a single dissident was arrested during the administration of George W. Bush, at the very least the White House spokesman would condemn it. Under the Obama administration: nothing."

Nor is Mr. Hendi a fan of this administration's efforts to engage the regime, most recently by deciding to send an ambassador to Damascus for the first time since 2005. "This gives confidence to the regime," he says. "They are not capable of a dialogue; they don't believe in it. They believe in force." (Z: WHEN will American intel understand the Arab mind? How many times have even I mentioned this here at geeeeeZ? Pride and force..period)

Mr. Hong put things this way: "When you look at the championing of dissidents . . . and even the rhetoric, it's dropped off sharply." Under Mr. Bush, he says, there were many high-profile meetings with North Korean dissidents. "They went out of their way to show this was a priority."

Then there is Marcel Granier, the president of RCTV, Venezuela's oldest and most popular television station. He employs several thousand people—or at least he did until Hugo Chávez cancelled the network's license in 2007. Now, he's struggling to maintain an independent channel on cable: Mr. Chávez ordered the cable networks not to carry his station in January. Government supporters have attacked his home with tear gas twice, yet he remains in the country, tirelessly advocating for media freedom.

Like many of the democrats at the conference, Mr. Granier was excited by Mr. Obama's historic election, and inspired by the way he energized American voters. But a year and a half later, he's disturbed by the administration's silence as his country slips rapidly towards dictatorship. "In Afghanistan," he quips, "at least they know that America will be involved for the next 18 months."

This sense of abandonment has been fueled by real policy shifts. Just this week word came that the administration cut funds to promote democracy in Egypt by half. Programs in countries like Jordan and Iran have also faced cuts. Then there are the symbolic gestures: letting the Dalai Lama out the back door, paltry statements of support for Iranian demonstrators, smiling and shaking hands with Mr. Chávez, and so on. (Z: funny, they've cut funds toward promoting democracy here, too :-)

Daniel Baer, a representative from the State Department who participated in the conference, dismissed the notion that the White House has distanced itself from human-rights promotion as a baseless "meme" when I raised the issue. But in fact all of this is of a piece of Mr. Obama's overarching strategy to make it abundantly clear that he is not his predecessor.

Mr. Bush is almost certainly aware that the freedom agenda, the centerpiece of his presidency, has become indelibly linked to the war in Iraq and to regime change by force. Too bad. The peaceful promotion of human rights and democracy—in part by supporting the individuals risking their lives for liberty—are consonant with America's most basic values. Standing up for them should not be a partisan issue.

Yet for now Mr. Bush is simply not the right poster boy: He can't successfully rebrand and depoliticize the freedom agenda. So perhaps he hopes that by sitting back he can let Americans who remain wary of publicly embracing this cause become comfortable with it again. For the sake of the courageous democrats in countries like Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, Colombia, China and Russia, let's hope so.

The new Arizona bill..........does it make Arizonans feel safer? Does that matter?

Before you get into my post (and thanks for coming by!), I ask you if you consider that waving Mexican flags might not be JUST the thing protesters to the bill want to do? just a thought....now, take a look and see if you agree or disagree with me on the following points..........

Take a quick look at THIS ARTICLE; All text in black print is from the article, the RED writing is my thoughts:

The protesters have largely dispersed from the lawn of the state capitol building, the camera crews are packing up and heading back East. But in Arizona, three days after Governor Jan Brewer signed the most aggressive anti-illegal immigration law in the country, the question remains: what comes next?

Then they quote La Raza here: "It (implementation of the bill) will probably be in July or August," says Daniel Ortega, a Phoenix lawyer who is chair of the board of directors of the National Council of La Raza. "That's the first thing I am telling people. There's panic in the community." (Z: "panic in the community" is right......Oh, wait, they don't mean the panic in the community due to illegal gang wars or theft or drug cartel killings or taking jobs from citizens, sorry, that was confusing :-) (sarcasm)

SB1070's broad instruction to police that when there's "reasonable suspicion" that a person is an illegal immigrant, a "reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable" to check for documents has the state's top prosecutor fearing that it will be used excessively and will lead to ethnic profiling that would irrevocably damage relations between police and the Latino community. (Z: I ask again, what documentation will naturalized or America-born Hispanics have on their persons to show if they're stopped? I don't have docs that prove I was born here, do you? And, when you're fighting a border war in your country, shouldn't the whole idea be to ask people for documentation to prove they're legal?! Also, Obama was worried Hispanics won't turn in the crooks amongs them... I wonder how many illegals ever did help finger other illegals to the police!? Did anybody ask him?)

As for the border crime and cartel violence that has fueled much of the state's anxiety about immigration, there's little in SB1070 that would directly address it. "The Teabaggers and company aren't only ones that are frustrated. We need more border patrol," says Attorney General Goddard, who is running for Governor as a Democrat. "But the serious crime is the human smugglers, the dope smugglers. [SB1070] doesn't do one thing to fight that." (Z: Except now, if the cops run into smugglers, they can at least attempt to get their identification and get them to the INS...and deport. It would be LEGAL then. Maybe THAT would help?)

The legislation looks certain to increase the divide between Hispanics and non-Hispanics in Arizona. At last Friday's protest in Phoenix, more than a thousand people, many of them Latino students, cheered as speakers likened the bill to South Africa's apartheid race laws and the World War II Japanese internment act. "We will survive this," said Alfredo Gutierrez, a former Arizona State Senator. "The people who passed this law will not." (Z: I wouldn't be so sure. Hispanics are only 12% of the electorate and I'm thinking that, deep down, a lot of those good legalized Hispanic citizens aren't too happy about living under the fear of drug wars, either. And, of course, as much as most of this is geared toward Hispanic illegals, there's apparently evidence of Arabs stealing across the border to Mexico. Of course, that would be all those Arabs living in San Miguel De Allende for the art community, right? :-) Sarcasm there, too.)

That same day, at the Briarwood Country Club in the "active adult retirement community" of Sun City West, J.D. Hayworth and other Republican candidates gathered for a lasagna fundraiser held by the Arizona Federation of Republican Women where praise for SB1070 was universal and enthusiastic. Just as Hayworth, a former sportscaster with a lustrous tan and a sternly knitted brow, entered the room, one of his supporters stood by a table selling "Republican jewelry" and made a prediction of her own: "We will be the last ones standing." (Z: that last sentence being a disgusting choice of words by a Hayworth supporter, in my opinion, that's not why I featured this paragraph from the linked article..here's why:

"Lasagna fundraiser" at the Country Club!? "Former sportscaster with a lustrous tan..." "Republican jewelry"? Has one of you EVER heard those adjectives when Democrat functions have been discussed in the media? Please try to find an article if you can, I'd very much love to see it. Let's face it, here's the attempt of a liberal journalist to portray the party most against this bill exactly as HE sees them..........excellent attempt, by the way..."Darn those Country Club Jewelry-Selling, lustrously tanned Republicans, what the HELL do THEY care about Arizona?" :-) ............They care enough to stop the drug wars, stop the taking of jobs from citizens, stop the killing of ranchers, stop the fear THEY live under in Arizona from illegals. The point of my piece here is legal Arizonans and why it's more important to make THEM uncomfortable and fearful than ILLEGALS?

PS: While researching this post, I ran across THIS ARTICLE from 2006.....so angry at THE WHITE HOUSE, so accusatory at WASHINGTON for not closing borders as should have been....you'll see Napalitano and Richardson fighting to FIX THE BORDERS (those two declared the problem with illegals "a state of emergency" back then!!!!!), you'll even see mention of FUEL PRICES! BOY, they throw EVERYTHING into an article on immigration and blame Washington...when Bush is in office:-)

I'm hoping Hispanic commenters will chime in today; the Conservative naturalized Hispanics I know are totally for this bill.
    z

A new Priscilla's Post........Republicans, put up or shut up

It's time for the GOP to put up or shut up. This is a suggestion from a Reagan conservative who is aware of the fact that while, from a distance, the GOP is enjoying the benefits from the Tea Party grassroots movement, it plays a risky game of recruiting moderate Republicans. While conservative Republicans like Rubio, Toomey, DeVore, and Lt. Col. Allen West, are enjoying the support of the conservative Republican base, the entrenched Republican guard and power brokers of the party are working at cross purposes.

It seems to be that the Republican Party has forgotten the Reagan credo of, "to think in bold colors, not pale pastels". I would remind the party of Ronald Reagan that playing not to lose, instead of playing to win, is a losing game. At best, it is a weak and risky game.
A leader plays to win. A leader has a confident voice, stands for what's right, and speaks the truth. Right now in America, the truth is there is a voice from the American people speaking truth to power, if only those who purport to love our country and enjoy their position to make a difference will adhere to it.

That voice is loudly saying our freedoms are in jeopardy. The future of our children as unencumbered, free, autonomous individuals is in question. Will they begin their journey in America carrying the yoke of unthinkable debt left to them by their forebearers, or will they be
relieved of it by conservative, dedicated men and women who care more for their country, and their people, than they do for their political comforts.
We are at a crossroads and can no longer hope for the best. We have to make it happen. If the Republican Party is to be the instrument to push back the tide of corruption and power hungry interlopers, it must decide that it's fortunes are tied to ours. It must decide to do the right thing by the American people, and that is to lead this country out of the morass we find ourselves in. It's no longer good enough to play it safe with the right words while compromising our principles as Americans.
We have had enough of Democrat Lite. No more sitting on the fence with weak protestations. It's time to stand up and be counted or get out of the way. It's time for conservatives to rise up and take charge. Leadership is the key. People vote for winners. They will vote for positive, genuine Americans as opposed to strategists, tacticians, and disingenuous wordsmiths.
It's now or never Republicans, DO YOU HEAR US? Tomorrow may be too late.
    Priscilla
    Thanks, Pris........Amen to that.

Obama's "closely MONITORING" the Arizona bill that just got signed.......Uhoh

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama criticized Arizona's tough immigration bill as irresponsible Friday and said his administration is examining whether it would violate civil rights.

From THIS ARTICLE: Obama said the federal government must act responsibly to reform national immigration law – or "open the door to irresponsibility by others."

"That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe," Obama said.

If signed into law by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, the legislation would require police to question people about their immigration status if there's reason to suspect they're in the country illegally. Civil rights activists say such a law would lead to racial profiling and deter Hispanics from reporting crimes.

Obama instructed the Justice Department to examine the bill to see if it would violate civil rights.

Z: That sentence in red really bothers me. Obama's exact quote, which I finally found and show below, bugs me even more:

"In fact, I’ve instructed members of my administration to closely monitor the situation and examine the civil rights and other implications of this legislation. But if we continue to fail to act at a federal level, we will continue to see misguided efforts opening up around the country."

Does that bother you, too? He's instructed people to closely monitor the situation .... against a governor's signature on a bill? Do you remember when a president's done this in the past, where a governor has signed a bill and a president has said it's 'misguided' and has ordered his people to "closely monitor the situation?" Ick. That's scary.

    Are you a "BIRTHER?"

Whether you are a birther or you're not, doesn't THIS strike you as a little, well.....WEIRD?

It would take about ten minutes to finally prove one way or another whether our esteemed president was born in Hawaii or Kenya. Why won't he, finally, definitively? Allow one of those court cases to continue...let's be DONE with it, okay? Hawaii's hospital in which he was probably born went "paperless" in 2001, apparently...I just wonder...do you have a copy of YOUR birth certificate in case your hospital of birth goes paperless? Sure you do!

But, I'm NOT going to fight the birther fight here because I'm not sure what I think about the whole thing.............though something nags me in the back of my mind about how darned easy it should be to shut birthers up once and for all with not too much information, you know?

My point is that my link above shows us that, suddenly, Hawaii needs a LAW now to evade questions about Obama's birth certificate?? WHAT? WHY? Well, let's be fair, maybe they got SO many requests to see final proof about this whole subject that they just couldn't take it any more and had to MAKE A LAW, right? :-) Ya, I know...sounds nutty to me, too. And just a bit extreme.

The Twelfth Imam?.......Is Iran getting the world ready for his arrival?

WHY is Iran having war games in the Bay of Hormuz? Why would Ahmadinejad be pushing his weight around, threatening the waterways by which most of the world's oil travels, threatening Israel as he has and threatening us with "I've got the bomb!" talk? And why NOW?
Could it be that he's enticing Israel to attack? Could it be intentional provocation? Could there be something in his koran which demands Jews to strike muslims first before islam does a final annihilation of Israel?

I got to thinking about this Twelfth Imam who's supposed to come and how Ahmadinejad's faith believes his coming will signify the end of the world. The "Mahdi", or Twelfth Imam, will soon "form an army to defeat Islam's enemies in a series of apocalyptic battles" and "will overcome his archvillain in Jerusalem," says THIS ARTICLE, which I found looking for back-up for my hypothesis but, what I actually found is that my idea isn't a new thought, I just happened to come to it late! Here are Ahmadinejad's quotes on the subject.
Here's the rub; leftwing secularists and 'believers' who don't read Scripture will suggest Christians, too, have this world religious view....They say Christians believe Christ will come and it'll be the end of the world as we know it, so they even include that Christians are doing all they can to prepare for leaving ASAP and are ignoring the environment, etc., because "we won't be around long, anyway" (they honestly do believe that!) ......Sure, some Christians are "Maranatha-ing" it up and can't wait for Christ to return and they talk about the Rapture, etc. (and who can BLAME them?!), but most Christians enjoy living their earthly lives, even through the stresses we all have, and see the Scripture's reminders to witness so others may have the joy and peace of the Lord....It's like God is very patient and wants more and more of us with Him for eternity so we're all still here. The important difference with Mahdi-Believers and Christians is that our God is NOT coming to defeat anybody, He is coming to set people FREE and give them eternal life. He's not coming to "overcome villains", Jesus will come back to overcome the world in the best of all possible senses. He comes in love, always did. This is what bothered me so much about Bush's saying "We all pray to the same God"...........No, not by a long shot, George.
My very very good friend Elmer's Brother featured THIS blog post in 2006...it's much more in depth than I've handled the subject and FASCINATING, if you'd like to read more about the the Twelfth Imam and comparisons to him and Jesus Christ. You won't be sorry if you check that out...excellent stuff.

"He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for all of us - how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" Romans 8:32

    Amen.

Veiled threats or a bill with teeth in France?

PARIS – French President Nicolas Sarkozy has ordered legislation that would ban women from wearing Islamic veils that fully cover the face and body in public places, the government said Wednesday.

The article talks about DIGNITY and OPPRESSION OF WOMEN behind this proposed ban but never mentions SAFETY. I'm wondering if that shouldn't also be used as a reason to ban the burqa? I suppose a bomb can be put on any woman, under a coat, etc., but isn't a flowing garment even easier to hide something under? But, of course, that would be suggesting that Muslim women might have more reason to blow French Christians and Jews up than a French Christians and Jews!? naaaaaaaaaaa :-)

What do you think? Should they be banned and shouldn't safety be mentioned? Or too politically hot, even if it IS true? French PC run amuk?

Becky might play soccer, but she hit it out of the park :-)

A friend sent this to me, it's a true story, and I'm still laughing after having first seen it thirty minutes before posting it here...I HAD to share it with you...enjoy!

Our daughter Becky had a collision with another player in the goal during soccer practice night - for lack of a better word - she got her bell rung. As a precaution, I had her sit up with me for a while before going to bed and then periodically checked on her during the night to make certain a concussion hadn't occurred. I followed orders and about 3:00AM, I went to wake her up, asking some general questions: What's your name? Where do you live? and finally asked her, "Who is the current president?" to which she replied, "Satan". She rolled over and went back to sleep. I believe she has made a full recovery.

    Thanks, "friend".......I needed the laugh!

    Obama and Abortion

OBAMA'S JUST SAID THATABORTION IS BODILY INTEGRITY AND WOMEN ARE NOT EXEMPT FROM THAT.... Oh, by the way...this was his response after having said that "abortion will not be a litmus test" in the selection of a Superior Court justice nominee. Right, Barack.....right.

UPDATED POST: Obama's AND Reagan's Reactions to Hecklers.......

Forget the words...........watch his disgust and impatience. Tell me, have you ever seen a president who spoke like he does to a crowd? To put this post in articulate, journalistic language: IT GIVES ME THE CREEPS. One respects the OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY no matter who is president, as long as that president shows respect and dignity, don't you think? This reaction of his, the underlying feelings he must have behind his words and posturing here, really bugs me. BUT, then there is THIS:

Yes, Reagan also once told a heckler to "SHUT UP!" so he could finish what he was trying to say because the guy wouldn't, well...shut up. Not the most presidential thing to say, is it. But, you know, there's a difference in the delivery than Obama's, even though Reagan looks frustrated, too. And, of course, much of what Obama's doing these days, the ways he's spoken to people, called bankers "Fat Cats', etc etc, all makes for a pile so high that ANY more nastiness is almost just too much to take. Reagan was normally pleasant, NEVER bit the bait and insulted back like Obama does so often. To me, there's a difference; maybe it's bias, I'll admit it. What do you think?

    Liz Cheney and Debra Burlingame

Tonight, I went with 3 friends to hear Liz Cheney and Debra Burlingame talk about national security. You should be very happy you weren't there. They know more than we're hearing in the media, trust me. And none of it is good.

Debra's the sister of the pilot, Captain Chick Burlingame, whose plane was hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11. Ms Burlingame is an attorney and has dedicated her life to keeping our country safe.

You know who Liz Cheney is. Number one, that woman is
TINY in stature....number two, what I hadn't heard is that she's not only an attorney but has studied Middle East affairs for the last twenty years.

Both women are formidable and as patriotic and informed as two women can be. And they're very worried for our country.

Burlingame related stories about 8 Germans caught here for espionage in, I believe, 1942; they had American army records (frauds), had lived in America and spoke very good English, but were caught and were quickly given trials and I believe it was 6 who got the death sentence and 2 got life imprisonment. Another German case was arrests made for spying here in this country and they were caught and tried within one month. Burlingame compared this with the way we're taking forever bringing terrorists to trial and tripping over ourselves to protect THEM instead of US. Very different than sixty years ago and not a safe situation.

She met with Obama regarding Gitmo and she reminded him how he'd once said how safe and good for prisoners it was there and she added that it would help if he'd elaborate on that and remind Americans of that fact. She said he simply "shrugged" and took the next question. As she implied, it's not about keeping us safe, it's about ideology.

    Burlingame also spoke about
waterboarding, which they are STILL DOING TO AMERICAN FIGHTER PILOTS in a program called SERE (her brother, as a navy flier, went through this program and referred to it as "POW SCHOOL" because it gets pilots ready for the horrors of getting caught and tortured)... EVERY PILOT is waterboarded..."Tens of thousands" of our soldiers are subjected to it to this day. Never once has a congressman called that torture. Because it isn't. She elaborated on the procedure and I wish I had the details but she backed up her information very well.

Debra Burlingame flashed on a screen a flier Gitmo detainees had had sent to them....it was in Arabic and told how CRUEL and INHUMAN their treatment was there and gave ways to get out of having to answer interrogators, lies to use, etc etc. This was distributed by American attorneys.... read HERE for more details .
There is some really unbelievable stuff going on and I wish you all could have heard it.

Liz Cheney mostly spoke about America's posture in the world. She spoke about how it's apparent that Obama thinks America's the biggest problem in the world and how we need to go back to having a Commander in Chief and not a Global Community Organizer who seems to stand separate above the world situation, including separate from US, and thinks making us weak is going to please our enemies enough to make them back off.

She highly recommends a book called COURTING DISASTER by Mark Thiessen. The subtitle is "How the CIA Kept America Safe and How Obama Is Inviting the Next Attack." The details of what Obama's done to the CIA were horrifying and I couldn't write fast enough to get much of it down, sadly. But, frankly, you don't really want to know. (UPDATE: HERE is the link for more details from her article in the WSJ)

Cheney feels Obama is not nearly doing all an American president can to protect us and, in fact, is doing quite the opposite. As an obviously devoted fan of Charles Krauthammer's, she quoted him in his statement that "Decline is a Choice" and that we're on a decline now, adding that America has the moral obligation to lead and Cheney hopes our next president, in January, 2013, will lead us back to the Superpower position Obama disdains. She has come up with quite a good synopsis of the OBAMA DOCTRINE and gave several examples for each of the doctrinal points below:

    Apologize for America
    Abandon Allies
    Appease Enemies

Both women are now joined with Wm Kristol in an organization called KEEP AMERICA SAFE (check out the Laura Ingraham video interview of Cheney on that site, Cheney mentions some things she spoke about tonight). I suggest you Bookmark it and read it from time to time. If you can take 'hearing' what you're going to read!

    Sunday Faith Blog

These pictures were taken Saturday in Munich on the grounds of the Oktoberfest, where they have a yearly Spring Fest every April. Mr Z's daughter, Ms Z, took these pictures and I loved them so much I wanted to share them with you. But, for my Sunday Faith Blog? Yes, I thought how trusting those people are that they'll be kept UP there, dangling from strings and swinging through the air! And, they're adults who've temporarily thrown away their staid, familiar maturity, got into those seats, and are swinging in the air having a wonderful time with the wind in their hair, their troubles back on the ground!

Throw away your inhibitions! Be like a kid! Put aside your fear and worries and come with an open mind to BELIEVE! Sit tight and take the faith leap!

Luke 18:16: "But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.."

Have a VERY HAPPY SUNDAY .."Faith" is the most rewarding LEAP of ALL!
(By the way, for the sake of full disclosure, you wouldn't find ME up there on a BET!! :-)

When Liberals talk, do words also have 'consequences,' Mr Clinton? (and don't miss two FABULOUS videos I link to below)

Here's an AP article on Yahoo Headline news:

WASHINGTON – Former President Bill Clinton warned of a slippery slope from angry anti-government rhetoric to violence like the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, saying "the words we use really do matter."

The two-term Democratic president insisted he wasn't trying to restrict free speech, but in remarks Friday he said incendiary language can be taken the wrong way by some Americans. He drew parallels to words demonizing the government before Oklahoma City.

On April 19, 1995, an anti-government conspiracy led by Army veteran Timothy McVeigh exploded a truck bomb outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, killing 168 people. (Z: any purpose to identifying McVeigh the murderer as an ARMY VETERAN? Isn't that like when some nasty person kills an abortion doctor and they identify him immediately as "Christian" even if he only taught Sunday school once thirty years ago? But, we're silly if we complain, right? "No bias here..move on" )

"What we learned from Oklahoma City is not that we should gag each other or that we should reduce our passion for the positions we hold — but that the words we use really do matter, because there's this vast echo chamber, and they go across space and they fall on the serious and the delirious alike. They fall on the connected and the unhinged alike," he said.

"One of the things that the conservatives have always brought to the table in America is a reminder that no law can replace personal responsibility. And the more power you have and the more influence you have, the more responsibility you have." (Z: don't look now, Mr. Clinton, but a lot of very good, smart constitution-loving Conservatives are feeling a little impotent in influencing the hideous stances of your party lately...'the more influence you have.....'? WHAT influence? You finally admitting that the Tea Partiers ARE wielding more influence than you like people to think?)

Clinton made the remarks at events sponsored by the Center for American Progress Action Fund on the upcoming anniversary of the bombing.

He mentioned the rancorous fight over President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. Passage of the law elicited threats against some lawmakers. (Z: Has anybody seen hundreds of people looking to kill Obama, or calling him Hitler like they did Bush?... or wishing Biden dead like they did Dick Cheney? Anybody seen conservative celebrities going to Europe and trashing our country and president to large crowds? NO? Hmmm....and Clinton thinks what's happening now is 'rancorous?', 'threatening?')

"I'm glad they're fighting over health care and everything else. Let them have at it. But I think that all you have to do is read the paper every day to see how many people there are who are deeply, deeply troubled," he said. (Z: I give up! WHO? "MANY PEOPLE who are DEEPLY DEEPLY TROUBLED?" What, for not agreeing with OBAMA?)

He also alluded to the anti-government tea party movement, which held protests in several states Thursday. At the Washington rally, Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota railed against "gangster government." (Z: they're not anti all government, they're against THIS government's actions)

Clinton argued that the Boston Tea Party was in response to taxation without representation. The current protesters, he said, are challenging taxation by elected officials, and the demonstrators have the power to vote them out of office.

"By all means keep fighting, by all means, keep arguing," he said. "But remember, words have consequences as much as actions do, and what we advocate, commensurate with our position and responsibility, we have to take responsibility for. We owe that to Oklahoma City."

Z: SO, now we are slammed for peaceful protests, right? If there are really only "dozens" of protesters at the Tea Parties, as CNN put it early this week, why are they so worried? Oh, I remember, because they're thousands, not "dozens"....And, those are 'protests', yes, but what about when liberals destroy buildings and have to get locked up by the hundreds after smashing the areas around political conventions, etc etc etc., Bill Ayers, the Black Panthers, the SEIU beating up Black Republicans, the guy who shot at Eric Cantor's offices........

Clinton's disingenuous...you all see that. BUT, it's very effective! Americans who don't question his words think "Oh, man, those AWFUL DEEPLY DEEPLY TROUBLED nuts have to be stopped....it's CLINTON, after all...and HE'S RIGHT!" Don't think for a second this kind of talk isn't aimed at those American voters.........It's very effective...very cunning............very disgustingly biased and as hate-mongering as any tea partier could dream of being, in my opinion.

Please let me know what you think of Clinton's words....then, do yourself a favor and watch the video below this post, a very short answer from a Black Tea Partier, AND, then go over to Beamish's CRANK FILES and catch Andrew Breitbart's AMAZING, ROUSING, PATRIOTIC, and TRUE SPEECH.............I PROMISE, you will NOT be sorry. CLICK HERE.

Maybe there are some really GREAT THINGS happening in America? Maybe THAT's why Clinton's so 'fearful'? :-)

    "Superpower" bothers Obama? REALLY?

    Media Matter says :

Right-wing sites misleadingly crop Obama remarks on being "a dominant military superpower"

    April 14, 2010 9:57 am ET

Right-wing media misleadingly cropped remarks made by President Obama at the Nuclear Security Summit to suggest Obama is opposed to America remaining "a dominant military superpower." In fact, Obama said that as a "military superpower," the U.S. has an interest in reducing tensions between foreign nations because violent conflict abroad inevitably "ends up costing" the United States "significantly in terms of both blood and treasure." Their next article is this:

Hoft, Fox Nation quote 12 words to suggest Obama dislikes being "a dominant military superpower"

Hoft: Obama "really believes America is the enemy." In an April 14 post on Gateway Pundit, Hoft wrote:"Yesterday, Dick Morris said, 'We may have the first anti-American president we've ever had.' He was being nice. At his nuclear conference yesterday Barack Obama told Americans, 'Whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.' Thanks for the pep talk, Barack." Hoft then linked to a clip of Obama's remarks and concluded, "He really believes America is the enemy." Then they add...

Fox Nation headline: "Obama: 'Whether We Like It or Not, We Remain a Dominant Military Superpower.' " On April 14, the Fox Nation posted the same video clip from Gateway Pundit under the headline, "Obama: 'Whether We Like It or Not, We Remain a Dominant Military Superpower.' "

Z: Did you watch the video? So, which is it? Here's the transcript..what he was asked and how he answered:

"Given the progress you have cited in recent days on your foreign policy agenda, to what extent do you feel like you have gained political capital with which to take further to the international stage for the rest of this year, to perhaps rejuvenate some initiatives in trouble spots such as the Middle East and elsewhere?" In his answer, Obama stated that "[i]t is a vital national security interest of the United States to reduce these conflicts because whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower, and when conflicts break out, one way or another we get pulled into them. And that ends up costing us significantly in terms of both blood and treasure."

Media Matters says the Right "misleadingly cropped" what Obama said, but the video is right there above these words. He said "Whether we LIKE IT OR NOT, we remain a dominant military power"

What's that MEAN? First, it means, the Right was NOT misleading and, second, it means he's not too comfortable being a dominant military superpower. Who do you think he'd LIKE to be the dominant superpower in the world? China? Russia? Iraq? N. Korea? Pakistan?
Just wondering. I can see how the left can be enraged at the Right taking umbrage with Obama for what he said (and they are)...I can see that he might not have meant quite what some of us sense he's saying, and I can also see he might have meant that we don't like being pulled into conflict (who does?). Still........I think it's an odd thing for an American president to say, I think there's a sensitivity he lacks, a strong love of country, an apologetic tone in this....Do you?

Bias at Yahoo again.......this is NUTS

THIS is the kind of article Yahoo's now putting on its homepage headlines (it's got gems like this sentence "Mitt Romney would be out selling his book and trying to come up with a tiny bit of difference between Romneycare and Obamacare") subtle, huh? It's a huge hit job on Republicans and, particularly Palin......Hit stories, I guess, are what American readers are supposed to believe is non biased, worthy of headlines on a supposedly non biased homepage which Conservatives and Liberals alike use?

This post isn't about Sarah Palin, I don't even want to talk about her anymore...this is about the left's constant protestations that they have no bias, but FOX SURE DOES :-)

Kevin Eubanks is leaving THE TONIGHT SHOW

After 18 years, Kevin Eubanks, the Black band leader and guitarist with Jay Leno's show's band, is leaving... I say he's Black, though you all know it, of course, because, upon hearing of his leaving, someone asked ..

"So would he like to see another African-American musician take his place? Kevin's response was......

"I want to see a really great band leader replace me. But I wouldn't be mad," he said, with a laugh."

Good for him. I always did like him, now I like him even better :-) He wants the BEST, no matter WHO it is, no matter what color. Good luck, Kevin, you've been terrific, you'll be missed by those who stay up late enough to watch, and I wish you all the best.

    From RugCenter....Give it a look!

Last year, I posted two super articles by our commenter here, 'tio', under the name MugCenter...well, I'm now presenting, below, his dad, Roger, and his RugCenter Report. I get them every week and enjoy his style and I hope you enjoy it, too! I want to thank him for allowing me to edit as needed as it was far too long to publish......

Spring is here, so I pulled out the lawn mower and put away the snow blower. I guess we do have one more snow job coming on the 15th. The IRS gets one more "dump" on us. The Tea Party and true conservatives are giving Nobama cause for concern as BHO is leaning on Beck and Limbaugh for being
vitriolic. The "anointed" never like to face reality, but live in a theoretical world. They see anyone who can think for him/herself as a mortal threat. Yet these elite thinkers are never held accountable for being wrong and people still flock to them to lap up their drivel of "wisdom." Life is hard and has many troubles. THAT is the real wisdom, endorsed all the way from Jesus to Fox News.

Pilots will now be allowed to fly while taking anti-depression medication. There was a 70 year ban on this, but now the rule has been relaxed. I guess they feared the possibility of suicidal tendencies from these drugs. We certainly don't need any more 9-11s, but they were caused by religion, not medicine. For a country like the USA that gets a constant dose of "everything is good, so be happy," we do lead the world in taking drugs for depression. That equation doesn't balance for me. Is that what they call cognitive dissonance--holding opposing views at the same time and trying to make that seen rational?

The City of New Orleans has had to have thousands of homes gutted to take out toxic drywall. This junk was bought from China and has so much hydrogen sulfide (smells like rotten eggs) that it corrodes the wiring and other metal systems in the walls. It also is a health issue from breathing it in. So is that the Chinese plan--to kill us with commercial products, like gases in walls, toxic metals in toys, and hosts of other stuff dumped on our markets without regulation? Who is really making money on this exchange? (Z; I told Roger China's like Roberta Flack with all their imports which keep harming Americans..."Killing us softly...." !!?)

Thomas Sowell's book Intellectuals and Society raises some interesting questions. By his definition, intellectuals are those whose sole product is ideas. The intelligentsia seem to have no accountability, are not subject to market forces, and come across as 3rd party "experts" who know better than the collective wisdom and experience of the people. Two good examples are Paul Ehrlich, the entomologist from Stanford, who predicted mass famine in the 70s and the collapse of western civilization. He was the one who convinced Americans that having kids was bad for the environment. Now we face a birth dearth that doesn't reach replacement levels while the other cultures like muslims are having 6-8 kids per family. Yet Ehrlich is still sought after as a guru on population issues even though his track record is dismally wrong. Or Al Gore, the environmental high priest, who has no degree in science (and probably very little course work), but is still the media darling who can tell us that everything is a disaster unless we stop having kids and redistribute the wealth. He gets the Nobel prize for conjuring up fear, but is woefully lacking in hard facts, The Pied Piper of Green is leading us into poverty and making us think it's an improvement. Liberals and academics lap up his kool aid as fast he can pour it. These fear mongers rely on intellect (in other words what THEY know) and emotion, but not real hard-earned wisdom. The have no accountability to the outside world, behave irresponsibly, and bask in the light of fawning fools who adore them. If you don't have time to read Sowell's whole book, it's worth getting the summary from pages 310-13. Unpack your brains and get back into common sense.

Have you noticed that many commercials are now prominently featuring blacks, which is a good thing? It shows the rise of minorities into the main stream of life. Yet, Hispanics are now the largest minority, but I see few ads featuring them. There is one ad about an inhalation medicine where the bee has a Hispanic accent. Is it the stigma of illegals that prevents this? I know immigration "reform" is always a big topic, but I don't think most Americans want a magic wand approach where we just pronounce all the illegals as citizens and consider the issue resolved.
Nobama will remove words like "Islamic radicalism" from his report on security strategy because he does not want to view muslims through the lens of terrorism. This sounds a bit like the French after WW1, where they dumbed the people down via the school system to be blind to any outside threats. Yes, they had seen the horror of the "war to end all wars" and lost a huge number of people. They de-emphasized national pride and courage. Even in the face of German rearmament in the 30s, the French and British refused to see any threat. The intellectuals even proposed total disarmament to set a good example. They postulated that if they were no threat to Hitler, he would be no threat to them. WRONG!! The minnow may be no threat to the bass, but that doesn't bring security. GULP!! Militarily the French were stronger than the nascent Nazis, but refused to act. Hitler's generals were fearful when Hitler made bold moves into the Rhineland and Sudetenland, knowing that the Nazis weren't all that militarily ready. But Hitler had read the pacifism of his enemies correctly and knew they wouldn't respond.

In modern Europe , the Japanese knew about the current issue of stuck gas pedals, but tried to cover it up. One of their VPs e-mailed management that they needed to "come clean." They did inform people in Europe before they did us here in the USA . So we had to learn by painful experience before they finally admitted it here. Hmmmm. Let's look back at history. In December of 1941, the Japanese emissaries to Secretary of State Cordell Hull were supposed to give us an answer about their intentions as the clouds of war in the Pacific loomed. They did meet with Hull , but about 45 minutes AFTER the bombs began to fall on Pearl Harbor ! Tora! Tora! Tora! in 1941. Toyota ! Toyota ! Toyota ! in 2010?

Obama has decided to remove the nuclear option from our diplomacy package. Is it wise to tell your enemies up front which weapons you will not use? Back in the Vietnam Era, Secretary of State Kissinger purposely informed the North Vietnamese that President Nixon may be a "madman" who just might resort to nuclear weapons if they didn't come to the table to negotiate. It was an act, but it worked. Perhaps it didn't get us a clear win, but it did finally achieve an end. The knowledge of a threat can be as effective as its actual use if the other side is kept guessing. Is Nobama willing to give up options unilaterally to "achieve peace for our time?" No, I don't want a nuclear war, but maniacs don't often respond to reason--they respond to force. There are times when the olive branch is not mightier than the sword, eh?

The mining disaster in WV is a tragedy that maybe didn't need to happen. The owners of the mine had several hundred violations cited in the last 2 years, among them was improper venting. I guess the people who own the mines see violations as part of the operation because something is always out of compliance. As the world economy goes global, ALL people become mere commodities to be used as economically as possible. Profit and success trump pain and suffering. Is the thin veneer of civilization we thought we had wearing even thinner?
Mrs. Muhammad Ali has been placed on a commission by Nobama to address bioethical issues. Ali himself has Parkinson's disease. Is this just a celebrity move? Maybe Don King could serve as Secretary of Defense because he has experience arranging fights! It's all about image, not substance.

That's it for this edition. The fish are biting and it's time to think about getting the garden going. Baseball season is on and the NBA is heading for the playoffs. Get outside and have some fun and exercise. Otherwise you might get a letter from Michelle Obama about not trying to win the war on obesity. Fat chance of that, huh? Otta here!

    Thanks, Roger! Z
