HERE is an excellent article about the Democrat Media Complex........if you're as interested as I am in the lies and distortions and even faking the news by the Leftwing media, please read this really good piece by Joe Newby of the Spokane Conservative Examiner.
A note to my leftwing commenters: Check the information out before dismissing this. HERE is only one link proving that the points are correct. I did the homework. Enjoy.
By the way...this post dovetails with the one below........take a look; pretty amazing media fakery there, too.

Control the information and control the ballot box. Orwellian, but true.
Reminds me of Rathergate. Remember the faked George Bush National Guard records, that Dan insisted nonetheless were true?
Even Bush's old commander coming out didn't dissuade the loony left.
It's academically official. The media has a liberal bias, and they influence the electorate to be more liberal than the population would be without the BS they broadcast everyday.
The book that documents this is, Left Turn by Timothy Groseclose. The book was written using materials from a peer reviewed study that established quantitative measures of liberal vs. conservative biases as established by think tanks.
I don't know if Groseclose had measures for honesty in the media.
I'd start with Herbert Gans' "Deciding What's News".
I'm a little partial to him due to his brilliant analysis of the destruction of Boston's West End, "The Urban Villagers".
He's a solid scholar. I'd put him a bit further toward the head of the line than a tool like Michael Graham who has been a bit inaccurate here on the Boston media scene.
I don't know what you think your articles establish, z. They are 15 years old and very, very short on any specifics. A few differences of opinion on the early Afghan insurgency against the Russians, a claim with absolutely no details that Kent State coverage was biased and Michael Graham's completely slanted stated on the Wasilla rape kits.
As for your earlier post, fact remains that Bachmann made a fool of herself and there is no way this nation is going to elect her. This isn't the first time she's had to backtrack.
Actually, Silverfidde, what I most remember were the "left" wing New York Times (LMAO) and the Washington Post publishing Judy Miller's propaganda from Ahmed Chalibi that completely lied about the so called WMD capability in Iraq.
The hysteria this nation went into was stunning and it was all based on lies from the supposed "left" wing media.
In fact a left wing media, like an "activist" judge, is any media that doesn't agree with you or your conception of revealed truth. In your fringe right world even economics is divine revelation. Nope, there isn't much objectivity out there and the right isn't helping the situation.
a claim with absolutely no details that Kent State coverage was biased
How about the recently released sound recording of gunfire erupting seconds BEFORE the National Guard Units starting firing upon students. Oh, you haven't heard about those???? Why not? But you HAVE heard about the new sound recordings of a "Prepare to Fire" order being given...
Agent provacateur my *ss!
Note the date "May 4". Note the complete absense of that information in the report of May 9.
MiniTrue no longer has a media monopoly in Oceania.
The memory hole has a few cracks in it.
Even the Pinko Post acknowledges a here-to-for unacknowledged and pooh-poohed FACT.
Once, I would like to see a comment by a leftist enabler (Ducky and Sue) similar to, “You’re right Z … whether media bias originates from the left or right, the American people are not getting the unfettered truth from the media and we ought to be incensed about journalism’s abrogation of a sacred responsibility.”
As for fake wars, Hollywood produced a film called “Wag the dog.” If producer Barry Levinson provided one service to America, it was that he planted this question in our subconscious: “Can we really trust anyone who influences public opinion for a living?” We apparently ignore the fraud engineered by Democrat Joe Wilson, who incredibly thought of Osama bin Laden as a friend of American Democracy and didn’t mind spending tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to fund thoroughly dangerous people who today are killing our children in Afghanistan.
I’m not holding my breath waiting for Ducky and Sue to demonstrate intellectual honesty or moral courage. As leftists, they appear obligated to pursue “moral equivalency”: if there is even one example of media bias from the right, then the left is not only justified to follow suit, they have an obligation to the state to do so. Ducky may laugh out loud at the proposition that the New York Times is a left-leaning rag with a political agenda as wide as Pennsylvania Avenue, but then he is a statist moron who would be “fine” with Pravda-styled news and analysis.
The bias of the media isn't towards liberalism. It is towards progressivism; towards the state and the state's initiative and directive.
There are a flurry of examples and as much as conservatives like to invoke "can you imagine if Bush had done this....", the reality is that much of the media went to great lengths to help promote the Iraq war among other things. Why, even in today's Minneapolis Star and Tribune newspaper their editorial is calling for the UN to impose tough sanctions on Syria.
4 Gunshots heard 70 seconds before the National Guard Openned fire goes a LONG way towards explaining the heretofor "inexplicable" events of May 4, 1970.
Yet most contemporary press accounts and even CURRENT press accounts discount the fact that 4 shots were actually fired in the IMMEDIATE vicinity of the unit which subsequently openned fire upon students.
The myth of an FBI informant agent-provacateur and National Guard conspiracy to murder Kent State students still persists to this very day.
*shakes head*
The Left's paranoid fantasies have a tendency to get immediate news coverage. Information refuting these obvious fantasies don't get reported until decades after the events in question.
The News industry makes for a very inadequate substitute for an actual "culture" which purportedly treasures intellectual veracity.
Nietzsche, "On the Future of Our Educational Institutions"
"For centuries it has been an understood thing that one alluded to scholars alone when one spoke of cultured men; but experience tells us that it would be difficult to find any necessary relation between the two classes to-day. For at present the exploitation of a man for the purpose of science is accepted everywhere without the slightest scruple. Who still ventures to ask, What may be the value of a science which consumes its minions in this vampire fashion? The division of labour in science is practically struggling towards the same goal which religions in certain parts of the world are consciously striving after,--that is to say, towards the decrease and even the destruction of learning. That, however, which, in the case of certain religions, is a perfectly justifiable aim, both in regard to their origin and their history, can only amount to self-immolation when transferred to the realm of science. In all matters of a general and serious nature, and above all, in regard to the highest philosophical problems, we have now already reached a point at which the scientific man, as such, is no longer allowed to speak. On the other hand, that adhesive and tenacious stratum which has now filled up the interstices between the sciences--Journalism--believes it has a mission to fulfil here, and this it does, according to its own particular lights--that is to say, as its name implies, after the fashion of a day-labourer.
"It is precisely in journalism that the two tendencies combine and become one. The expansion and the diminution of education here join hands. The newspaper actually steps into the place of culture, and he who, even as a scholar, wishes to voice any claim for education, must avail himself of this viscous stratum of communication which cements the seams between all forms of life, all classes, all arts, and all sciences, and which is as firm and reliable as news paper is, as a rule. In the newspaper the peculiar educational aims of the present culminate, just as the journalist, the servant of the moment, has stepped into the place of the genius, of the leader for all time, of the deliverer from the tyranny of the moment. Now, tell me, distinguished master, what hopes could I still have in a struggle against the general topsy-turvification of all genuine aims for education; with what courage can I, a single teacher, step forward, when I know that the moment any seeds of real culture are sown, they will be mercilessly crushed by the roller of this pseudo-culture? Imagine how useless the most energetic work on the part of the individual teacher must be, who would fain lead a pupil back into the distant and evasive Hellenic world and to the real home of culture, when in less than an hour, that same pupil will have recourse to a newspaper, the latest novel, or one of those learned books, the very style of which already bears the revolting impress of modern barbaric culture--"
AOW...the ballot box scares me more than the media for 2012 and what the Dems could pull.
Silverfiddle, I could have sworn some of Dan Rather's lies were in this piece but I don't see them now..odd. And you're right.
Bob...you'd think just telling the truth and not ginning up pieces like the Bachmann one would be enough.
IMAGINE THEM REPLACING A COMPLIMENTARY VIDEO BY CNN WITH A DEROGATORY, INSULTING ONE OF MSNBC'S? SHOWS QUITE SOME DESPERATION AND IDEOLOGY.
Ducky, If you don't know what my piece and the links establish, then read them. It's there.
Speedy, thanks....Kent State...the only good thing to come out of that was the song. Seems perfectly understandable that this was a total set up. It sure took our country down into an ugly place..
Your amazing researching for us here really is appreciated.
WHEN will leftwingers finally get it? You could stage a murder in front of them but, if it was a lefty killing a righty, they'd be denying it to the death....(Snopes would say "MAYBE" and say the leftist perp was tired, like they excused our president not knowing how many states in these United States..editorializing that he was "tired" )..otherwise? 8" headlines "Rightwinger kills lefty"...no matter HOW many bullets fired first, no matter it's RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF THEM.
I'm surprised that deranged killer who murdered nurses from a tower in TX was called a "Christian Conservative"...I think the media hadn't started lying or hating Christians quite so much yet at that time.
Mustang...Conservatives believe that indoctrination isn't AMerican; in the media or schools. Until that starts to change, this won't be America.
Let's not hold our breath for Ducky; the New York Times is far too rightwing, dontcha know.
Here's a review by Mickey Kaus, a Newsweek writer no less:
"Like many New York Times readers, I got the queasy feeling that something fundamental had changed at the paper with Arthur "Pinch" Sulzberger Jr.'s ascendancy in the early 1990s. America's most important paper became somehow more unashamed of its political bias and more insulated. By skillfully reporting the telling anecdotes, disturbing incidents and outright scandals of the past two decades, William McGowan shows us that things at the Times aren't as bad as we'd thought. They're worse! If he had common sense, Pinch Sulzberger would read ths book and promptly resign. But if he had common sense he wouldn't be Pinch Sulzberger."
Mickey Kaus is one of the most fair writers anywhere; a leftist who isn't afraid to criticize the left and criticize the right FAIRLY...not often something we see.
Gad, soapster; leftwing senators voted for the Iraq War, too. Think it was a RIGHTWING NEW YORK TIMES attitude that promoted Iraq or they just believed everything everybody else had proof of?
And, no, we're not going to get into the Iraq War and the pros/cons here today.
Go through my blog, soapster, over the last 3 1/2 years, and remind us of all those liberal papers spewing rightwing indoctrination :-)
To use one example is a little lame and really doesn't even prove the point I am trying to make here, but thanks.
Speedy, Nietzche continues to blow my mind. Amazing piece; could have been written tomorrow; thanks for that.
Propaganda, News, it's all the same it would appear. Some things never change.
The communication must reach the audience ahead of competing propaganda.
Propaganda to the home front must prevent the raising of false hopes which can be blasted by future events.
Propagandist must have access to intelligence concerning events and public opinion.
Propaganda must be planned and executed by only one authority.
It must oversee other agencies' activities which have propaganda consequences
The propaganda consequences of an action must be considered in planning that action.
Propaganda must affect the enemy's policy and action.
By suppressing propagandistically desirable material which can provide the enemy with useful intelligence
By openly disseminating propaganda whose content or tone causes the enemy to draw the desired conclusions
By goading the enemy into revealing vital information about himself
To be perceived, propaganda must evoke the interest of an audience and must be transmitted through an attention-getting communications medium.
Credibility alone must determine whether propaganda output should be true or false.
Credibility, intelligence, and the possible effects of communicating determine whether propaganda materials should be censored.
Material from enemy propaganda may be utilized in operations when it helps diminish that enemy's prestige or lends support to the propagandist's own objective.
Black rather than white propaganda may be employed when the latter is less credible or produces undesirable effects.
Propaganda may be facilitated by leaders with prestige.
Propaganda must be carefully timed.
A propaganda campaign must begin at the optimum moment
They must evoke desired responses which the audience previously possesses
Propaganda must label events and people with distinctive phrases or slogans.
They must be capable of being easily learned
They must be utilized again and again, but only in appropriate situations
They must be boomerang-proof
Propaganda cannot immediately affect strong counter-tendencies; instead it must offer some form of action or diversion, or both.
Propaganda must facilitate the displacement of aggression by specifying the targets for hatred.
A propaganda theme must be repeated, but not beyond some point of diminishing effectiveness
Sound familiar! Same tactics are still working that worked in 1924 - 1945
GOEBBELS' PRINCIPLES OF PROPAGANDA
What the MSM doesn't tell you.
You can't TRUST either side.
A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.
- Winston Churchill
Thersites; I had learned that about a week ago but the sources were incomplete and less than credible; so, here we have it..finally, the facts. Thanks very much.
No, Mr OBAMA did not 'bus it'...he flew between 'bus stops' ...$$ and we are paying for his chance to slam the Republicans at every bus stop, too. I think even Democrats might have seen through that..but you can't be sure.
As for "you can't trust either side"...maybe. It's a matter of degree. You can sure blame student indoctrination only on one side, and we can certainly wish that, for our tax dollars (NPR, PBS) we could get both sides of every story..or, preferably, JUST THE FACTS.
I think it was when every podunk journalist got bylines that everyone started editorializing. I laugh out loud at FOX's Shep Smith when he gives 'news' as if "his take on it"...it's hilarious!
And it does bother me that CNN is not considered bias when there is SUCH bias on that show anti Israel, pro warming, pro abortion....I've heard things like "and the anti abortion people working against a woman's rights.." I heard that the other day!. They don't make an ATTEMPT at even handedness but "FOX IS BIASED!" :-)
Ya, I can blame one side, though it gives me really no pleasure.
I WANT THE NEWS...and, oh, for the days of "FILM AT 11"...
when we have 24/7 news both sides are going to get nuts.
YOu should have heard CNN this morning about a subject that's escaped my mind...I started laughing at the handling of a poll question they were asking watchers to call in answers for. SO SO biased toward the left, with no context, not a hint of fairness..and BROTHER, they had a ball smirking, etc.....the fun never ends.
Interesting, Ducky seems to hate the idea of anything being revealed. It's okay to have religious beliefs Ducky. I know the nice professor with the ponytail taught you it was bad; but it's not.
Notice the distance between all the stops on the tour and his home in Chicago.... and the fact that the tour lasted from 8/15-17... and the president only appeared in public on the 16th for about 3 hours between noon+ and 3:30pm. Plenty of time for a meeting with Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, and half of the Chicago Mafia...as his next scheduled event didn't start until 12:45 the next day.
There are certainly no "Obama slept here" signs in Iowa or Minnesota.
They may not have flown the busses anywhere, but you can bet your sweet *ss that his Marine 1 helo pilots were getting plenty of fly time over Illinois.
ps - All the events on the 16th were in the same place. I'll bet he never even rode the bus THAT day, except to/from the college in Peosta, IA.
"as his next scheduled event didn't start until 12:45 the next day."
Speedy....the visits with the Chicago thugs probably WERE his 'next scheduled event'! (that we paid for)
Here is the only 1st hand account of the President's stay at the Hotel Blackhawk in Davenport, IA on the night of the 16th of August. No pictures of him at the hotel exist. Despite an "Obama Watch" being placed on the hotel, to the best of my knowledge, no one saw him arrive or depart.
well....but he was somewhere in Iowa, not CHicago, right, Speedy?
and here is a picture of the Hotel Blackhawk's security on that Wednesday night.
I'm sure his "staff" spent a wonderful evening staring at empty cargo containers.
The next "confirmed" Obama sighting was at 9:59 am Thursday am.
So he went off the radar Wednesday afternoon, a little after a 4pm visit to Dewitt.
That's 18 hours to go to Chicago for the evening and then return to Davenport... a very achievable schedule with MARINE 1 or equal.
Ya, 18 hours would do it. Davenport's pretty close to the Eastern border.. Just long enough to stay with the Ayers' in Chicago;....those people he said he barely knew before the election, people we found out were Weather Underground, who'd committed murder, were practically anarchists, and held his first political event in their home...were on Boards with him, etc.............and, then we found all this out, and half of America STILL voted for him.
You mean those people, right? :-)
How long would a helicopter take, do you think? And, wouldn't there be some information of his landing there or something? Can a President land anywhere clandestinely, Speedy?
Whoa, nice spin from the side of the fence with the biggest liars in the industry; Fox News.
Can a President land anywhere clandestinely, Speedy?
Can an executive (or the Secret Service) hire a private helo and land on top a Chicago skyscraper or small airport outside Davenport??
The flight distance from Davenport, Iowa to Chicago, Illinois is:
153 miles / 246 km
@ 200 mph, that's about 45 minutes.
Is this the real "Hotel Blackhawk" that Obama stayed in on the night of August 16?
It's as plausible as the hotel in Davenport.
Makes you wonder who spent the night of August 15 w/ Michelle in Winnishiek, doesn't it? ;)
I mean, how much skill does it take to read TotUS?
Bd, what the HELL are you talking about? :-) OPEN YOUR EYES< get them out of your BUTT and grow UP, we have a country to save from your ridiculous side. Can you READ? :-)
Speedy, ...what's your conjecture after all these links? WHat do YOU think happened, in plain English? (aucun Francaise, si te plais)
"A note to my leftwing commenters..."
They still won't believe you Z, they are impervious to facts and reason. If they weren't they would not be leftists.
I think he spent two nights at home in Chicago between the 3 bus tour legs. And if I were him, I would have done the same thing.
