Sunday Faith Blog

"Courage is fear that has said its prayers."

Have courage, folks..."This is the assurance we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us."  1 John 5:14.

Have a prayerful, happy, fearless Sunday!

God's plans are often not our plans, and that is a hard one to swallow sometimes. That is when out faith is really tested...

Have a happy Sunday, Z!

Z: Have you seen the movie "Courageous"?

Z - 'if we ask anything according to His Will - He will hear us.'

I need to remember the key word here - that is 'hear.'

Not that He will drop everything and give us what we ask of Him.

But He hears us and responds according to His Time.

Thanks Z.

I hope you have a great Sunday and I'm headed for the Really cool Art Museum later. They actually have a Picasso there that I would love to touch but they have students posted to prevent that. :[

SF...that is definitely the hard part! And when COURAGE steps in.
xx

Ed, no! Tell me about it

Sue...I SO understand about TOUCHING! I've touched a few pianos around the world that said "Don't touch" and I'm usually a stickler for obeying the rules. I've touched Beethoven's keys, Cole POrter's keys...
How can a pianist resist?
And how can a painter resist touching? Although, because pianos can't be played without touching; I can resist not touching a painting :-)
enjoy the museum.

God hears but answers in His time and IN HIS WILL....bummer! :-)
but,if we know He knows best, then it's not such a bummer, right?!

Hey! I didn't realize I've made your blogroll until just now. Now THAT is an honor. Happy Sunday everyone.

How horrible it will be for those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn what is bitter into something sweet and what is sweet into something bitter.

I don't know whether you're familiar at all with the Kendrick's brothers movies: Facing the Giants, Flywheel, Fireproof or the latest Courageous.
They are each dramas illustrating Christian values.
The most recent (just out on DVD) is Courageous and is my favorite, until I'm watching one of the others.
You will love it, or I will refund your money for renting it personally. Flywheel is a hoot.

How very interesting that I was reading a very similar Scripture only an hour ago. Jhohn 14: 12-14

John 14: 12 - 14
"12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."

Interesting how the same message keeps coming up.

Thanks for the blog article.

is in an uproar.
Don’t be assured,
since the sword of fate
is sharp.

candy in your path,
avoid it,
since it is poison.

I've always like these two.

God answers all prayers, sometimes the answer is NO!

And my favorite: Man plans, and God laughs

Rita, my honor! :-)

Impertinent, so true...and we are suffering bitter pills these days, aren't we...to everything good, everything light.

Ed, I have seen FACING GIANTS and FIREPROOF...very nice films.
I'll check into this latest.

BOB, I purposefully didn't use this verse when I considered it "14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
because people come back with "but my prayers never get answered!" You know?
But, this is very true.....it must have been meant to be that it got into this post :-)

Ducky, destiny is putting candy in so many peoples' paths and they are swallowing it whole, not realizing it's stealing their self sufficiency and self worth. So sad. And they don't see it.

virburnum, great addditions!

I wanted to see Courageous when it was in the theatres but missed it. Sounds like it's worth buying the Blu Ray. We loved Fireproof.

Abandon worship in the mosque and shrink
From idle prayer, from sacrificial sheep.
For destiny will bring the bowl of sleep,
Or bowl of tribulation - you must drink.

YOU must drink, not me, Ducky.

Z - And I did enjoy the museum - thanks.

And I got close enough to breathe on them - but resisted the urge to touch.

Wouldn't want the student guards to turn me in - maybe cuff me and take me to the students' jail.
