Free Thinke...with a question to him and my readers

Happy Birthday, Free Thinke!   GeeeZ and the Gang wish you a VERY happy, healthy year!    What would you like to be in that package?!

To EVERYONE...if you could have anything in that package you wanted to open and keep, what would it BE?

My GOODNESS! I'm flabbergasted to see this kind greeting at 6:15 AM here at GeeeZ. How very sweet of you, Z!

Yes today I turn 72. It's funny, because I don't feel any different, but I suppose it makes me officially a Senior Citizen now. UGH!

I've never like the term "Senior Citizen," but I don't mind getting older in the least. As they say, it sure beats the alternative. ;-)

What would I REALLY like to see happen in the near future?

If the wish could be granted, I'd love to see all people become more CURIOUS, less OBSTINATE, less JUDGMENTAL, less set in their ways, less FEARFUL, more GENEROUS, less CYNICAL and more inclined give each other the benefit of the doubt.

If that sounds sanctimonious, I apologize, but since you were good enough to ask, I felt I had to give an honest answer.

No one asked for my advice, but I would say this:

All of us would do well to COUNT OUR BLESSINGS every day, and try to remember always that "A soft tongue turneth away wrath" and "Perfect love casteth out fear."

"This is the day the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."

I was just going back to bed after waking up and doing some blogging, etc., and see that you came by and enjoyed my post.. I'm so glad you had a happy birthday surprise!

I think opening that box and finding those good things is a lovely thing and that counting our blessings is a must. It's a great mood lifter, too...we can find SUCH blessings even when things are rough for us.

Have a wonderful day, FT!

A miracle of healing for Mr. AOW.

Z - That's a tough one. Do you mean something material - or can I answer with 'civility.' The ability for people to get along in this world.

Happy Birthday - FT.

Since this is FreeThinke's birthday, I will modify your questions slightly, and then answer it.

What would I wish to be in that package if it were to FT?

I would wish it to be packed with an incredibly large and rare collection of the world's best classical music, and I would also want an expensive stereo to be there as well so he could enjoy it all in crisp, high fidelity.

Probably wish to be around to see my grand niece as an adult.

Barring that -- a Hasselblad H3D-31

Liberalman evidently believes that the "other" does not want to kill him and take all his stuff... and wishes to live in peace next door.

If the "other" ever did move in next door, Liberalman would spend the rest of his life hiding under his own bed, afraid to go outside. Cause let's face fact, the "other" wants him dead so that the "other's" son can move into Liberalman's house.

But then, so long as the "other" lives far, FAR away, Liberalman's fantasy of a loving and benevolent "other" persists...

I wish Liberalman's fantasy were true. Short of that, I wish Liberalman would stop imagining that one day, his fantasy could come true.... cuz he's politically greasing the skids for a future disaster.

Happy Birthday, Free Thinke!

I know this is rushed, and I apologize for not having time to think it through, but what I would want in that box is for BHO and his minions to have never existed. Sorry if this seems callous (for his daughters' sakes), but like I said, I am rushed for time and that is the FIRST thing that popped in my mind...

Sue, (not Sue Hanes, as we call you here!) I agree.
Can you imagine our country with at least a start back to a balanced budget, with the courage and lack of political correctness to tell people "you're in America now and you'll follow our laws"?
And someone who didn't divide as Obama and his thugs are doing SO successfully?
etc etc etc....wow.

Bush stopped playing golf when the war started.
With what's going on in the world, I was hoping the Obamas might have spared us the elaborate concerts they have, like the other night, which cost us $450k and PBS another 1.2 million or so.
Plus...it just doesn't LOOK GOOD.
Things are NOT good in America today, no matter how close they think they are to bringing us to our knees.

Z,
I would like a government that truly respects the Constitution and the rights of the people. By extension politicians who stop serving up legislation that infringes on our rights. Lastly, a citizenry who are vigilant and educated.

@Kid

"World Peace of course.."

Impossible when one half of it is in utter chaos, anarchy, genocide, war, famine, pestilence....and religious ignorance. And still stuck in the 7th century.

Z said...

Kid, that's a great hope.

I have to admit that when I read Imp's comment repeating what you said, it made me think of Miss Americas! "I want WORLD PEACE!" :-)

Don't we all.

This is just what I try to work on every day now.

Happy Birthday FT. Better late than never, right? Sorry about that!

Kid said...

Z, I'm sorry My Dear. My world peace comment was to do my impression of a beauty pageant contestant...

btw - should I have put glue on my swim trunks? hmmmm.

Yea, we can't even have neighborhood peace. The idea of world peace is so ludicrous even Mel Brooks wouldn't put it in one of his movies. :)

Kid said...

Imp, my apologies for catching you in my beauty pageant sarcasm trap.

I let you out now and offer you your choice of gifts.
From the top shelf but of course Monsieur.

Z said...

Kid.."Monsieur"? I'm a MADAME!! :-)

And thanks....I did fall into it, but, again, GREAT MINDS THINK TOGETHER !!

Kid said...

Z, I know it's been a tough week! but Monsieur was for IMP ! ;-)

Z, and you my Dear are a Mademoiselle !
