Kudos to Iowa and Representative Steven King. I watched the Holder hearings this morning (if you could call it that...it wasn't a hearing, it was good questions and evasive answers) and Steven King was so good in running down what DoJ cases were approached with immediate action (anything by Conservatives in any way) and how long other cases were stalled and delayed (anything by Liberals in any way).
It was a fascinating list.............He could barely get it all in before he had to "yield," so Holder didn't need to say anything, but, it felt good to get the truth aired.
I admire him very much.

It just totally disgusts me to watch Holder evade answering and sit back smugly.
My TV survived.
Everyone from the President in the White House to the cop on the beat exercises some discretion about enforcing laws and filing charges. Part of the reason for this is that we have far too many laws in this country; it is impossible to enforce them all. Perhaps in redress of this issue, we could start with that. Mr. King’s insinuation was that Holder has selectively prosecuted, and selectively refused to prosecute, individuals charged with or suspected of having committed crimes. He may be entirely correct ... but you can bet that the smart cookies, like Holder (who’s been in government now for a very long time), have created a loop hole in the law(s) that you could almost drive an Abrams tank through ...
My sense of this is that it doesn’t matter. The government will do as it pleases, and the people will do what they’re told. The beat-down of the American people began with the Whiskey Rebellion—it has gotten steadily worse ever since.
“You don’t want to go there, buddy! You don’t want to go there, okay,”
Talk about contempt of congress!
Holder + Negrotude ='s contempt.
"Talk about contempt of congress!.."
Wow...a small fine and maybe a year in the slammer...uhhh...yea sure.
It sounds real bad...but to scum like Lois Lerner and Holder....it's a joke.
To Mustang's point, one of the few things I remember from The Naked Lunch is the observation that government always creates more laws than can be obeyed to keep the population in a constant state of stress, aware that somehow, some way yhe authorities always had a reason to get them, should they not comply.
I agree with you, Ed. I began to wonder, somewhere around March of 2009, why so much was happening so quickly ... and almost none of it seemed reasoned or very smart ... and then it occurred to me that if you open the floodgates on legislation, if you implement everything concurrently, then the people can’t possibly discover everything until it is too late. I believe the French call this fait accompli. And of course, a few years later, we learned that Barack Obama is a firm believer in the axiom, “It is far easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission.” I’m sure you may recall, “If you want to keep your doctor, ...”
You don't want to go there = THREAT
The hearing was fabulous. Even Gohmert did a good job of grilling Holder. The money shot though, was from Rep. Blake Farenthold: "I'm committed to maintaining the constitutional balance of power and the authority that this legislative branch has, and I just don’t think it’s appropriate that Mr. Holder be here."
"If an American citizen had not complied with one of the Justice Department’s subpoenas, they would be in jail and not sitting here in front of me testifying."
I didn't hear Farenthold; I SO wish I had. I also didn't catch the Gohmert exchange.
Saw most of the rest of it but I guess I missed the fireworks.
And, of course, HOlder goes back to his office laughing...all forgotten by the time someone switches channels :-(
