Scandals and Questions............pick one

1. NSA Spying
2. Fast and Furious
3. Benghazi's unanswered questions
4. IRS' unanswered questions and the stalling on information release.
5. Affordable Care Act's never having been read and now being changed without Congress

Which would you say is the worst affront to our Constitution?

I was thinking how much the word SCANDAL is used even by the leftwing media for so much of Obama's presidency.  Weird.

IRS. I've maintained that all along. And now it's been revealed Lois Lerner was attempting to persuade to DOJ to start criminal prosecution of the same groups she was targeting.

Frightening.

Number 5. I see that one as the most blatant violation of our Constitution. Obama has done more than tweak the ACA. He has changed much of the essence of it!

In my view, a Congress that doesn't actually read the bills passed into law should be brought up on charges of political malpractice.

You're right - liberals lying about wealth and taxes is nothing new while unconstitutional entitlements and handouts chews up 70% of our tax dollars....
Once again we see the parasite class is not paying their fair share while the upper class in this nation are burdened with paying damn near everything.

The bottom 50% earns 12% of the wealth but pays just 2% of the taxes. Meanwhile the top 1% earns 19% of the wealth but pays 37% of the taxes
You have to hand it to theses lying liberals - they lied so much they have some American's duped, even some of their own!!

The Scandal is that the general public has no idea what we're talking about.
That in a Fox Poll (oh, it's only Faux...) that CnC highlighted, that 61% of registered voters (Americans) think Obama is lying "some' or "most of the time" on important issues.

To be absolutely honest, although, I didn’t vote for him, I had better hopes for him when he was first elected. I knew he had inherited a failing economy and massive debt, not to mention problem overseas. But during his six years in office I have watched him play the blame game and the race card. I have watched in disbelief as the laws of our land have been selectively enforced. I have witnessed unemployment remain unacceptably high and our economy remain stagnant. I have seen him waste literally trillions of taxpayer dollars. It almost seems as if Mr. Obama is much more concerned with his progressive socialist agenda than what is actually best for America. Then between the endless lies, scandals and cover ups and a corrupt and less than honest administration, Mr. Obama continues to try to spin his way out of important issues he seems to have no solutions for what so ever.
And talking about taxe. sI saw something very disturbing on the news last night. The average American is now paying more in taxes than for food, clothing, and shelter, combined. So now, as I watch Mr. Obama my best hope is that he does not continue to damage our nation any further. This man has disappointed me greatly, I have never voted for him as I had watched him during his campaigns and I was convinced he was lying. Mr. Obama seems to be a man of many words and very little action. Mr. Obama has attempted to raise taxes some 460 times, and now we are all taxed to the max. Many of us now pay more in taxes than we actually take home. I now pay a staggering 52 % of my pay in taxes, in other words, Obama now gets more than I do for my labor. Margret Thatcher was right when she said that the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. I now truly believe that Mr. Obama has failed us all. I can no longer believe anything he says and almost daily I am disappointed in his overall performance. Mr. Obama has proven himself to be nothing more than another lying liberal empty suit.

Hello Again My Dear Blogging Friends
Thank you once again for another great topic and so timely as well.In regard to your post on Tuesday, I found myself commenting on the subject on another blog yesterday.
And then after reading another blog this week titled “What if Bundy Ranch Were Owned by a Bunch of Black People?”
I tried to comment on another blog that happens to be a “progressive one” about this and was all but attacked for giving my opinion. And I was called everything under the sun be the author of that blog.
But It made me wonder and read up on this entire unfolding drama at the 67-year-old Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy. So I decided to dig up some of the background on the situation.
Taking a common property resource and making sure it's used fairly. That all who use that resource, contribute to its greater good. Sort of like the idea of a nation. Where all who live there, participate and contribute.
And the Feds saw fit to retreat once the truth came out of Harry Reid's involvement in this thing. Whether he's right or wrong, I don't like the Feds blasting in with guns, like Janet Reno ordered in the Elián González affair in Miami, Florida.
My biggest complaint is about the people who stop by most blogs only to leave a useless comment that reads like a 5-year old wrote it and makes no sense. It's time-consuming to go through them all and delete these.
The world we live in these days is not only an interesting world we live in but it can also be a very dangerous world, as we see in the headlines every day. And some people just love negativity and spend their lives wallowing in it. I guess to them it creates great pleasure . So we've got to fight the negative with an overwhelming amount of Positive
PS, I love your blog especially this one. And I can't wait to hear the thoughts of the others who comment here and do so with making thoughts that make sense.

Have a great day!

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The question, then, did the framer’s actually intend this as the law of our land, or didn’t they? If the government can renege on this law, what other laws can the government ignore in order to sustain itself? NSA spying on Americans is an affront to the basic tenets of our Constitution, and I believe, the most egregious ... which brings me to another thought offered by our founding fathers: “They who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty or safety.

“Voters say Obama lies to the country on important matters”
By Dana Blanton

”About six in ten American voters think Barack Obama lies to the country on important matters some or most of the time, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday.

Thirty-seven percent think Obama lies “most of the time,” while another 24 percent say he lies “some of the time.” Twenty percent of voters say “only now and then” and 15 percent “never.”

And we all know who those “15 percenter’s” are, don’t we!
Here for the poll results.

President Obama has been accused by political opponents and media fact-checkers alike of telling falsehoods. Frequently cited: His repeated claim that under Obamacare “If you like your plan, you can keep it” and his insistence that “the day after Benghazi happened, I acknowledged that this was an act of terrorism.”

The number of voters saying Obama lies “most of the time” includes 13 percent of Democrats. It also includes 12 percent of blacks, 16 percent of liberals, 31 percent of unmarried women and 34 percent of those under age 30 -- ALLkey Obama Constituencies

Her smug, arrogant, condescending, lying, thieving, conniving FU with bravado is what we should fear. Because she's not alone. Every IRS bumbling, lying bureaucrat has had the audacity to tell Congress to go to hell.

The IRS needs to be dismantled, abolished and the guilty jailed and not given a pension or rewards for their conduct and abstinence.

They alone are the ones who terrorize and take freedom from every American.

I'm with Ducky on the analysis of what is more a violation of the Constitution.

The ACA highlights the problem of executive powers. I don't think Obama is the first one to use them. I even learned that in France about the American system of government.

The other ones relate more to ethics and incompetence and foolishness.

The worst affront to our Constitution is NSA spying on citizens, but the truth is that each of these incidents goes a very long way to explain why the American people no longer trust their government.

Some of these scandals are self-inflicted, because when the people vote for an utter moron like Obama, then they should expect him to appoint others of his ilk to his cabinet. When the people “give power” to government, as in the power to collect taxes—which is a law enforcement role, DO NOT EXPECT the government to EVER give up that power.

So thanks to the mental midgets who voted for Obama, we now have to contend with the likes of Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, a plethora of ideologues in the White House, and a number of out of control government agencies. It is Marxism on steroids.

All of this begs the question: who in the hell ever said America needs change?

The American Conservative said...

You have to be either extremely stupid, or a idiotic Liberal for you to send a couple of hundred armed government agents and try to confiscate a rancher’s cattle without contemplating how the rest of the nation will interpret your actions. As someone before me said, this reminds me of that young Cuban boy, Elian González , in Miami Florida when Janet Reno under Bill Clinton’s orders, or was it really Hillary’s orders to send in Troops with Machine Guns to grab a little boy.

There is no way a militia with small arms can defeat the kind of arms the U.S. government can bring to bear on such a battle, but one has to admire the courage of those people who showed up to confront them. That’s quintessentially American!

The amount of land that the federal government owns in Nevada and elsewhere, particularly west of the Mississippi, and expose a regime that wants to intimidate hard working Farmers and generally all Americans with force.
What worries me and many of my blogger friends is the prospect of a renewed effort by the Bureau of Land Management regarding what is essentially a fairly minor dispute between it and Bundy. The Feds grossly mishandled this situation, and here we are today.
This heavily armed "militia" was likely initiated by the White House, with Harry Reid’s blessing.. Sending in two hundred armed government agents on a ranch in Nevada, on behalf of Cliven Bundy, a local small rancher with a long-running property dispute with federal officials just don’t make any sense..
Lets call it like it is, Obama has refused to arrest, or deport illegal’s who are here stealing jobs from Americans. He has even released those arrested by state and local law enforcement agencies and even the dangerous Muslims who were sent to Gitmo, and are now back on the battle field killing Americans once again.
But American ranchers who "threaten" tortoises?
Personally I think it's a land grab intended to make big bucks for Senator Harry Reid and his son by allowing a Chinese company to strip mine the land, all under cover of protecting the tortoise. The tortoise of course will be destroyed, that's what Liberals do, the opposite of what they claim to be doing. because his Son has become involved in a deal with a Chinese company that wants to build some sort of solar or wind farm, or some other ridicules piece of crap on this particular location...I suspect that a lot of Americans and most certainly those who live in the area are going to remember the Bundy face-off with the Government come the November midterm elections.. And trust me, this is small potatoes compared to what's happening in Washington right now. Lord Help Us .

Anonymous said...

"There is no way a militia with small arms can defeat the kind of arms the U.S. government can bring to bear on such a battle.."

It was done once long ago. And I'd say many, many Americans are better armed then the average citizen fighter was back then. Not all feds or LEO's or even soldiers would dare take up arms against their fellow citizens.

If ordered to...there will be a mutiny.

Baysider said...

It's so close between 1 and 5. The rest are extremities of bullying and neglect but not constitutional issues.

Fast & Furious - smells to high heaven, should have Holder fired and give him a lot of blood to answer for on judgment day. Just not a constitutional issue.

Benghazi - ugly, ugly, ugly. Worth heads rolling. But not a con issue.

IRS - Chicago style bullying and intimidation writ national. About as ugly as it gets. Laws broken? Looks like it. But not a con issue.

NSA and its un-warranted access to signals intelligence on steroids dances around the edge of the 4th amendment. I say 'dancing' because of such strong precedent that it's not considered a search because you have released that info already to 3rd party providers. Federal judge Richard Leon has called it an 'indiscriminate' and 'arbitrary' invasion. Can a case be made to surmount Smith v. Maryland? People are working on that one and Judge Leon provided an opening.

There's more wrong with ACA than not reading it before it passed. For sure, Obama lied. Pelosi lied. etc. But it wasn't even passed in a legal manner. And if Obama's true dictatorial bent wasn't clear before, this crystallizes the picture of an executive out of control, totally usurping the powers given only to another branch of government. Sure, there have been many questionable executive orders. This is a blatant, in-your-face grab of constitutional powers not given to the executive.

So I'll declare #5 ACA the winner for doing what king George's armies could not. But we're all losers here.

AOW...I agree about their not having read the bill. That is malpractice. And we've got Nancy Pelosi lauding it!

No, it does not say in the Constitution "nobody in the IRS can hurt conservatives more than liberals"...I'll grant you that, folks.
But nowhere in the Constitution does it advise it, either. And, of course, it says it between every line, doesn't it.

Ducky's comment reflects what happens when people don't understand the Constitution .... it never says "separation of church and state," either. But, he's all FOR THAT :-)
And let the Libs hear "the pursuit of happiness" and they read that to mean free contraception! I'm right. Think about it.

Frida..thanks. ANd sorry for your treatment at some lib blog; I'm surprised they let you comment, most don't

Mustang...I wonder if a legal lien had been filed, which should have been done instead of what happened, if Bundy would have just thrown it away, too?
I believe the Feds did a TERRIBLE JOB there...
What would you have done were you a BLM person? Just let it all continue forever? I'm on your side, but am curious about that.

Krabby; There is no way Lois Lerner's going to get out of this unscathed; more emails came up yesterday which clearly damn her actions.

Sam, thanks for that. I still think the IRS encompasses spying, lying, cheating...all of it. But you're right; the NSA is awful.
I'm glad I'm not living in Europe anymore (only for this ONE REASON, I assure you) because I'd hate to be reading what they're saying there. My God.
And so deservedly. It's such a shame on all of us that this is all going on and we're allowing it to happen.

FrogBurger; that's the one thing that's crystal clear; how much more invasive the American government has become since Obama and HOLDER. It's astonishing.
I disagree totally on the Constitution ; freedom is everywhere in that document...free people are not spied on, not lied to with a complicit media, free people aren't killed without everything having been done to protect them, free people are not indicted for their political beliefs.

No, it doesn't say those particular things (NSA, IRS) but it's there in the Constitution.
Odd that there are Constitutional phrases the left WILL grab and twist to their ideology and ignore the most basic tenet; FREEDOM, though, isn't it.

Z, I do see you your point. One of the beauties of the constitution is that it doesn't try to spell out every nitpick (in contrast to say, South Africa's bloated document) and is generally held as a structure upon which to uphold liberty and protect negative rights (like freedom of speech and worship).

I think what you're talking about is more ethics, like you stated: the idea that just because the constitution doesn't forbid it doesn't mean I can do it. Especially when the 'it' runs contrary to the whole theme of liberty and rights ... and laws are being broken, no less!

For Pete's sake, Obama has called for an end run around posse comitatus by militarizing the police forces, and every other government agency other than the army. Not a technical violation of the PC act, but a dictatorial manipulation to achieve the same end.

Our government was structured to make it harder for liars, cheaters and dictators to corral the reins of power. But it was "made only for a moral and religious people" (John Adams) who have the inner gyroscope to make that work.

Documents from the Department of Homeland Security obtained by the government watchdog via the January 13, 2014 lawsuit further revealed that the total cost for “security and/or other services” for a side trip to Dublin by Michelle Obama and her entourage was $251,161.86. That total included $55,004.85 spent at the Shelbourne Hotel and $70,855.44 at the Westbury Hotel.

The documents reveal that taxpayers spent a total of at least $7,921,638.66 on the first lady’s trip. She departed for the Dublin tour on Air Force Two after accompanying the president on a meeting with Northern Ireland youth.

The most recent travel revelation comes on the heels of a release of additional documents revealing the $1,164,268.60 in flight expenses for the first family’s vacation to Martha’s Vineyard in 2013, the $8,104,224 in flight expenses for their 2013 official trip to Africa and $7,781,361.30 for their 2013-2014 Christmas vacation to Honolulu.

Take a look at Allen West’s five remaining UNANSWERED questions below:

• When the message came that the consulate was under attack, why were all immediate resources not allocated? As a former career Soldier who sat on the House Armed Services Committee, I am well aware of security protocols. Why weren’t they followed?

• Where was President Obama the evening of the attack? We were treated to all the White House situation room pictures of the raid on Osama bin Laden — but where are the photos from that night?

• According to the president, he ordered Secretary of Defense Panetta and CJCS General Dempsey to get the Americans in Benghazi the support they needed. If true, then who disobeyed the president’s order, and why did Obama never follow up with Panetta and Dempsey?

• Who came up with the video scapegoat excuse, and why was the U.N. ambassador called out for the Sunday shows and not the person responsible, the secretary of state?

• Ambassador Stevens had met with a Turkish representative in Benghazi, but why were his requests for additional security denied, and by whom?

And my Unanswered question is: Why is Obama still president of the United States? But, at this point, what difference does it make?

"Meanwhile, a new wrinkle in the IRS scandal involving the targeting of Tea Party groups.

The activist group Judicial Watch has released e-mails that show the agency in talks with the Justice Department to investigate some tax exempt organizations for "possible fraud".

The new documents show just how close the government came to criminal investigations before the IRS targeting became public knowledge.

Let's see...the threat of criminal prosecutions, or the threat of, immediately before an election, to deny groups their 1st and 4th amendment rights, perhaps?

The use of intimidation, bogus law suits by the IRS to stifle political action and participation in the process of voting?

Seems to me you'd be very happy living under a tyrannical, corrupt dictatorship with the IRS assuming the role of the Gestapo.

Baysider said...

I think it's pretty well established at this point that Separation of Church and State is from a private letter of Thomas Jefferson in which he amplifies on protecting the church from the state. These founders, TJ included, emphasized how important religion was to public morality even to the point of being keen to make sure every town had a church - just not a government designated one. They saw churches in general and as a rule as essential to the development of the public mores that strengthen society and our republican form of government.

If that were still the prevailing attitude who could doubt Z would have much reason for this post today?

No era is without its 'bad boys' and 'religion' doesn't guarantee angels. Still, there is a huge difference between a few bad eggs and having it bred into the culture's DNA. This is what happens when you remove the internal gyroscope of moral rectitude as a norm.

Duck:
"Why is it unconstitutional for the IRS to determine whether or not an organization qualifies for tax exempt status?"
Because unequally applied, it wrongly interferes with the First Amendment, Free Speech.
If one political side is obviously denied the access to resources that it's opposition is allowed, then that denial of ability to accept tax free donations from supporters infringes on the right of those donors to express their political beliefs.
It doesn't fully deny them that that ability but restrains it.
Therefore it affects the constitutionality of the IRS activity.
There.
Was that simple enough?

Take a look at Allen West’s five remaining UNANSWERED questions below:

---
Better yet, take a look at one question to West:

Allen, you found yourself behind in the polls in your district so you faked a move to another district you thought better gerrymandered and still got your butt kicked.
Given that you can't even win in gerrymandered Republican districts why haven't you just gone to the track to play the ponies and spared us?

Ducky's here said...

@Ed --- Because unequally applied

Not according to the evidence.

A very small unit was suddenly faced with a pile of verifications due to campaign groups trying to pull a fast one and they used the best set of filters they could think of to find likely offenders. The filters were not strictly right wing.
Sorry, this one has faded away and is strictly kabuki.

FrogBurger...not sure where we disagree on that.

Ducky, you are kidding, right?
You honestly don't KNOW the IRS situation's facts or it's just running for cover again?

And for a leftwinger to talk about indoctrination as a BAD thing made me smile; you and yours are doing it every single day in our schools and you've got the nerve to suggest prayer in schools is indoctrination?
I didn't "lose that one." America lost that one.

GOOD one on the way you ignored West's excellent questions and slammed him instead! Yes, you are definitely a liberal:-)

Baysider; you and most of US think it's "well established" but we hear "separation of church and state in the Constitution" ALL the time on the news, etc.
People honestly DO think it's in there.

Clemson U is now under fire from an atheist group; PRAYING? WITH THEIR COACH? He's PUSHING RELIGION ON THEM? Uh...no, no complaints in the six years he's been there, and no pushing of Christianity, but the atheists must be on the prowl.
Got to GET THOSE KIDS TO STOP THAT DISGUSTING HABIT OF PRAYING, huh? :-)

Baysider said...

Yes, I've heard dummies claim 'church and state' is in the constitution, too.

Well, despite the ignorami in the news rooms, facts is facts. It ain't. But the framework to keep government out of specific churches is. Hooray!

For Pete's sake, Obama has called for an end run around posse comitatus by militarizing the police forces, and every other government agency other than the army. Not a technical violation of the PC act, but a dictatorial manipulation to achieve the same end.

That's an important point, IMO.

For Harry Reid to have the nerve to show himself after America saw all the good people drive out violent government forces, is a perfect example of his power crazed, out of control, desperate frame of sick mind.,

Moonbat, I was thinking last night that Reid is one of THE most despicable people I've ever heard; the lies, the name calling; the horrendous things he's doing.
If Democrats could allow themselves, they'd see it and protest. But, of course....

Ya, The Tea Party is "terrorists" but let's not call the Ft Hood killer a terrorist, right? Thanks, Harry Reid....

p47; so many people still revere FDR. That's one of the best lies in American history.
He wasn't ALL bad, and had a charming personality, but he sure gets credit for a lot of things he SCREWED UP!

It was ruled that what he did was WORKPLACE VIOLENCE, officially.

What a horrid bunch in the White House.

Everybody notice that, AGAIN, Obama pulled his BS Friday night fuN!? Yup...he announced a bill that keeps the Iranian kidnapper from coming into the UN as an ambassador BUT says HE CAN IGNORE THIS BILL that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN VOTED FOR.

Yes, Obama does these things Friday nights while the media's busy and the weekend's slow news.

what a ($&(#$*&#$(*#$

oh, by the way, everyone; Bundy was calling for peace, telling his supporters to leave guns at home, and Reid calls HIM a terrorist and liberaljerk condemns him because one NUT talked about putting women between him and the Fed's overkill amount of guns.
the fun never stops with hypocritical, horrid liberals, does it.

Z said...

by the way; I hope you all remember Obama slamming Bush for supposedly not going by laws, picking and choosing....he'd never do THAT :-)

that's about all he HAS done. Horribly sad.

Z said...

I'm hearing more about the Cliven Bundy ranch situation and it is SO SAD that the Left is condemning him as they are; I think the name calling by Reid and others is a deflection from what the feds did.
200 of them with assault weapons descending on a guy, taking his cattle....

I can really see why liberal people who don't know the facts are jumping on Reid's bandwagon. It's all false, except I absolutely agree Bundy broke the law.... everything else is wrong and he's been willing to come to an agreement that the BLM hasn't been amenable to.

The Feds have started to go way beyond what we're used to in AMERICA ...remember Gibson Guitars? They came in with assault weapons, camouflage on, etc....over supposedly bringing in an illegal WOOD to make GUITARS? Of course, the owner of Gibson is a conservative who gives money to Conservative causes...and, of course, the whole case was dropped because they were wrong, but what if the feds had killed someone?

is it going to take THAT before they finally go back to their normal behavior they had before HOlder's militarizing them?
how AWFUL. I hope not.

At the risk of getting deleted, I'll say this: you're all welcome to come by my blog site Liberalmann Is A Dingbat and vent any frustrations you get when Liberalmann spews his garbage at you. I've nicknamed him Pookie Toot-Toot, and it irritates him to the core.

Now, about the Bundy Ranch debacle: I look forward to seeing it shoot down the political careers of Hairy Reid and his son Rory. What they instigated is beyond vile. Their hairbrained scheme they hatched with an extremely thin disguise has angered the Nevada residents to the point where the father and son team will likely get a political tar and feather mob worked up enough to get them thrown out in a flash.

About banning Lester Liberalmann: he's known to jump, stalk and troll blogs. If you ban him Z, he won't be missed. I'm one of his biggest blog enemies.

Now, one more thing about the Pappy and sonny political liberal machine running Nevada down: when the Reids get their rotten carcasses kicked out of office, it'll be worth celebrating.
