Snow in Freudenberg, Germany

Such an interesting and pretty shot I had to post it.

Plus, it's 80 darned degrees here, swaying palms and the pool glistening....and I want winter back!

That's a GREAT picture! Growing up in Minnesota I sometimes miss scenes like that.

Now that beats a Mondrian, seven days a week!

I guess it pays to work in three dimensions.

FJ I went to look at that Mondrian, how odd. Where did you find that?

I've always wanted to visit Germany anyway but your posts like this make me yearn for it even more. What's your knowledge of the Black Forest? That's a place that always come to mind when I think of visiting Germany. Do you or Mr. Z have any experiences with it?

Z said...

Papa...Yes, Mr. Z knows The Black Forest...
I've been there, too.
It's marvelous for walking in the summer, characterized by enormous trees, beautiful lupine flowers, long and deep valleys and rolling hills..It's a marvelous landscape.
Lakes, spectacular roads of thrilling scenery.
Mr. Z's ski'd there...I haven't.
No steep mountains like the alps, more rolling hills...spas, (some of Germany's best) restaurants, incredible little villages. We drove through one little village with very windy streets and red geraniums were spilling out of every window and hanging from lamp posts...SO BEAUTIFUL! They have contests between the towns sometimes to see which can be the prettiest!

I sure hope you can go to Germany some time.

FJ: the pattern of the photo is reminiscent of Mondrian..thanks!

Thanks Z. That's what I have imagined. I sure hope we get there some day!

Just "Googling" Mondrian's via Yahoo "image" search, Morgan.

It is a lovely scene Z,
but, you long for winter on a California day like today? For me this is heavenly.

I guess I'm a just a summer gal. I can't wait!

Pris, I am SO a Fall/Winter girl! I DO like when Summer comes because I love swimming, but........give me COLD WEATHER in the winter, PLEASE!
My heart's breaking to see fountains with frozen solid water dripping over the sides in Paris. NEVER got that cold the whole time we were there. It snowed maybe 3 days, very lightly, the whole four years! And I was dying for SNOW! Of course, two of our trips back home for Christmas, it snowed BIG TIME the days we left....so we had the hassle but none of the beauty!

Grrrr!!!

What a gorgeous shot, Z!
I love scenes like this. I can smell the wood burning in fireplaces nearby.
I am right there with you on longing for winter. I miss the snow. We got ONE light dusting here and now we've had two days in the high 70's. A good snow is just so much fun!
