Isn't ANYBODY seeing that picture below and what it SAYS in no words? Please look!! Then read Constantin's great piece!!!
The other day, we saw an article from Germany which was on a par with Keith Olbermann or CNN's Susan Roesgen's "coverage". In fact, Mr. Z says it was probably, originally, a far-left piece in English by an American for THE NATION or something and that some clever German lefty translated it and sold it to his paper as "his". To give you a 'hint' as to what it included, click HERE for the accompanying photos. (see anything like these at YOUR Tea Party? I didn't think so). So, Heidianne showed it to a student who's staying with her and he, who she'd taken to her Tea Party, had this to say. I think it's worth noting that these are HIS reflections, not Heidianne's:
Oh, my God! This article is simply stupid! With this article, they only wanted to say that the sole reason why the people were at the Tea parties was that they hate Obama.
In addition, it is said that the people don't know what they want.
But, I'm reasonably sure that each individual knew exactly why he or she was there. Each individual wants only the best for himself, for his children, and for his own country. And, the people have found out that Obama is NOT the best for them.
That is why these Tea parties occurred. What I do not understand is why there are such articles against harmless demonstrations? There was no force in play but placards with requests for changes and loud slogans being chanted. I don't know exactly, but I think, for many previous presidents, there were also demonstrations from the opposition.
Did such articles appear then? I don't think so! Therefore, why do so many people try to protect Obama? In my opinion, these are people who are either dumb or they think he will really change something "in the good sense", or they are people who do not know what he plans or what he has already done in terms of damage.
In addition, the article claims that the participants knew no limits and that they were lunatics and hysterical because they presented Obama as Hitler or as a communist. But, again, when I was at the Tea Party, I did not recognize any hysteria. Maybe the Tea party where I was happened to be the only one in 800 parties without hysterical people, but that is rather improbable.
In addition, it is written in the article that all these demonstrations do not represent a threat to Obama. Excuse me, but 800 demonstrations with thousands of people who demonstrate against Obama can't be a threat?
As said before, this article is simply dumb and not usable as a source of real information.
When I heard, the first time, of the elections and the fact that a Black man was a candidate for the position of the presidency, I thought "A Black man, and a young man at that? That sounds like change - a good one!" But, when I came to the United States a few months ago, my eyes were opened. I don't hate Obama and I also think that, if John McCain would have been elected, there would also have been bad changes in the beginning of his term since it takes years for noticeable improvements; But, what this man plans is simply only dumb. This can be seen best because even leading politicians from other countries such as Germany or France mock him. And, I think that says a lot.
Constantin.
Thanks, Constantin...and Heidianne. And Mr. Z, for translating this into English. I know it's not important to some of my readers to know what Europe's seeing and thinking, but I think it is...and I thought this was important. Too bad Germans aren't seeing Constantin's FIRST HAND 'coverage', huh? Too bad more Americans don't feel this way. Too bad so many feel that, suddenly, dissent must be humiliated and squelched.
By the way................
Inauguration Day, Washington DC ...2009 Just a note: Those aren't TEA BAGS.
thanks to Mustang for the photo.

Sorry, but until the right presents a coherent criticism and a coherent alternative then it stands, you were there simply because you dislike Obama.
When you have a coherent message, let everyone else know because right now the right isn't saying anything intelligible and what may be intelligible is being drowned out by the fanatic anti-Obama voices.
The mischaracterization of the nature of the tea parties is just a tactic from the left to discredit the message.
Just for the sake of argument, even if the tea parties were based on a rabid anti-Obama sentiment, don't they, as Americans, have the right to protest peacefully? Sure they do.
I think many on the left believe speech is free only when it comes from the left.
I say to the left, deal with these protests the same way the right dealt with Code Pink and other professional protesters... as long as it's peaceful, let them protest.
Stop trying to stifle dissent in America.
We know exactly what we stand for. I have nothing against President Obama personally and I'm getting sick of defending myself.
I believe in certain rights as a person and policies for our government and Obama's policies are the antithesis of my beliefs.
But, I'm reasonably sure that each individual knew exactly why he or she was there. Each individual wants only the best for himself, for his children, and for his own country. And, the people have found out that Obama is NOT the best for them...WELL SAID!
Stop trying to stifle dissent in America.

Huh ?
See this is interesting. The right desperately wishes there had been an attempt to stifle the protests. That would have given them a talking point but no such thing happened.
It was strictly a minor event. You want lower taxes, you are the real patriots and Obama isn't any good. Not very interesting or useful.
I saw no hysterics at all. The hysterical ones are the leftists as they sense that their days may be numbered.
There were some hard hitting signs parodying our sainted leader at our TP in Greenville, but from an individual rights point of view, much of the vitriol is deserved. We've got it covered at Three Ball Dead.
As for "coherency", I heard various appeals for conservatives to reject the installation of big brother government. An idea millions of Americans support. And the protest was done peacefully...and with humor.
I know to some the thought of limited government may be "incoherent". For those who crave governmental direction in all aspects of their (and everybody's) lives, for those who are willing to surrender their inalienable rights to the state, I imagine any intellectual argument that doesn't include nanny government must seem incoherent...How sad it must be to live such a sheltered, scared and pathetic life.
You ROCK Mr and Mrs. Z!
There is something fundamentally wrong with the leftist mindset; the assertion that we can somehow separate what is good for our country from what best serves the interest of the American people; logic buttresses the conservative argument that socialism may satisfy the goals of government, but it does not serve the interests of the people. Syllogistically, therefore, socialism cannot be good for the country.
Americans of both parties communicated their unhappiness with the direction the present administration is taking our country. Leftist nitwits may deny there is any basis the public’s concern, and they may demean anyone who avails him or herself of their constitutional rights to assemble or protest. Leftists may utter completely absurd statements involving racism or personal dislike of the president, but this only emphasizes how sick these people are. I know that Garofalo doesn’t represent the attitudes of all leftists, but as we have repeatedly seen here by Daffy’s own words, a considerable number of leftards do begin salivating every time she breaks wind.
All of this reinforces the well-known, often quoted observation by a great American statesman, who once wrote, “If [leftists] want to have an honest, respectful, intellectually oriented political discussion, you first need to concede the easily demonstrated, well-documented fact that you're a [effin] imbecile.” — Beamish
I know that Garofalo doesn’t represent the attitudes of all leftists, but as we have repeatedly seen here by Daffy’s own words, a considerable number of leftards do begin salivating every time she breaks wind.

So glad you heard the clips. I thought they were humorous, especially the bit about frontal lobe deformation and the right's neurons misfiring.
Frankenstein monster - fire, whenever the right gets near the truth. That was pretty good also.
Ducky..as if you're listening. How the heck much do you have to read before you get it..?
LOWER TAXES FOR BUSINESSES (as it is, businesses are leaving CA in droves...that's what's up next for our whole country..congratulations)
DO NOT DO WHAT JAPAN OR FDR DID (too late, to our peril..Japan's STILL not out of the muck)
HONOR AMERICA OVERSEAS...some of us don't need to be apologized for, we DO understand our greatness and we DO understand other countries rely on US when they need us...
Oh, brother..what's the use?
Nobody on the planet thinks that was a minor event, especially not the msm! They tried so hard to ignore it but finally had to cover them...And, nobody got arrested, isn't that bizarre? I know it's nothing the left's used to...but, it's a good thing, because we don't have the ACLU or ACORN there to pay for OUR getting out of jail, right?
You call that CNN woman 'not stifling dissent'? The insults are stifling, the belittlement by the administration is Hitlerian...
Just STOP it, you're showing a side of you that's probably not worthy of your best side, whatever that is. thanks. Just OPEN YOUR EYES. STOP the KOS and Moveon mantras.
Cube...exactly...apparently we don't have the right.
KrisEveland..me, too.
Woman..great kid, huh?
Larry, they're WINNING, they're wrecking America..what MORE did they WANT? !!
Mustang.. Effin RIGHT!! HEH (Mom, I hope you're not reading !!!xxx)
I attended the Tea Party in New York and it went really well and peaceful. Not like you would here the Libs describe it.
The Tea Parties were simply step one in creating one unified and uniformed voice. Informed voices, united, are always forces to be reckoned (with). This is clearly something that the Liberals fear.
And so, to paraphrase a Liberal: "When you have a coherent message, let everyone else know because right now the left isn't saying anything intelligible and what may be intelligible is being drowned out by the fanatic pro-Obama voices." Ironically, with the Right spin, even the words of a Liberal sound good...
Disliking BHO as an individual and disliking his policies are not the same thing. Those two ideas might cross lines, but I don't think that majority at last week's Tea Parties had any racist hatred in mind.
Maybe the left can't separate the two concepts because they still have BDS, which reflected that they couldn't separate hating an individual from disapproving of that individual's policies.
When I participated in A Gathering of Eagles a few years ago, the hate of the Code Pink crowd was palpable. Of course, the media didn't bother to cover that aspect of Code Pink. No, indeed! Instead, the media showed the leftistas marching across Memorail Bridge and waving American flags. As soon as the cameras were off, the leftistas dumped the American flags into trashcans, went back to wearing kaffiyehs and Che shirts, and turned over all their portapotties. Go figure on that last one -- talk about pollution running down the gutters!
DO NOT DO WHAT JAPAN OR FDR DID (too late, to our peril..Japan's STILL not out of the muck)

Look ,z ,with respect, don't box outside your weight.
It is apparently only in right wing circles where it is not understood that Japan DID NOT adopt a Keynesian stimulus policy.
Really, you need to understand your limitations.
LOWER TAXES FOR BUSINESSES (as it is, businesses are leaving CA in droves...that's what's up next for our whole country..congratulations)

California business taxation is a state matter.
At the Federal level the EFFECTIVE business tax rate (remember: there are copious deductions) is one of the world's lowest.
The message has been explained to Ducky every which way but loose. So why bother?
I was amused by Garofolo's admission that conservatives have larger brains. I agree with that.
So, when I call Ducky a puny brained little twerp, I would be accurate. Heck, even a puny brained Garofolo agrees with me.
Pris
While it doesn't prove Obama's a socialist this begs the question why leaders like Hugo Chavez and Raul Castro vastly prefer him over Bush.
Speaking of limitations, most people would be content demonstrate respect for their host or hostess, most would confine their remarks to posted arguments, and most of them would rely on a wide range of human intelligences to make their point. Perhaps as many people would visit this and other blogs and avail themselves of the opportunity to consider other points of view.
Not Ducky, though. He has to be garofalic no matter where he goes.
"At the Federal level the EFFECTIVE business tax rate (remember: there are copious deductions) is one of the world's lowest."
please explain this one to me, ducky. as a business owner, this statement certainly isn't reflective of MY experience. additionally according to several sources including the tax foundation all 50 states have a combined corporate tax rate (combined between state and federal) that is higher than fifth-ranked france.
it is impossible to disregard the fact that companies must pay corporate taxes at both the federal and state level here in this country. it is also irresponsible and misleading to ignore the state taxes when discussing corporate tax liability here in this country.
however, just for grins and giggles we'll go with your premise that we should only be looking at federal tax rates. the corporate tax rates (2003-2009) levied by the u.s. federal governmentcan be found here.as you can see the lowest rate is 15% and the highest NORMAL rate is 35% - it's important to note that the corporate tax breaks you refer to DO NOT have any bearing on most industries, primarily applying to "manufacturers" and these tax breaks effectively reduce the 35% tax level to 32% - woop-di-do.
so even if you are a manufacturer who qualifies for the tax breaks and you are operating in wyoming, south dakota or nevada, you are still paying a top corporate tax rate of 32% - higher than most other countries with whom we are competing.
and before you say anything, yes i realize that most companies never reach the maximum tax rate of 35% (or the bubble rates of 38% or 39%) but for those who do reach that rate it's daunting and stifling to productivity and profitability because it punishes these very things.
from the tax foundation article linked above:
"Assuming that no state cuts its business taxes in the next year, the U.S. federal rate would have to be cut to 20 percent in order to bring the combined federal-state rate down to the middle of the OECD pack. But Washington does not bear the entire blame for America's eroding tax competitiveness, nor does it shoulder the entire responsibility for fixing it. State officials also have to be cognizant of the fact that they are not only competing against each other for investment and jobs, but against the rest of the world. The emerging low-tax countries in Europe and Asia benefit from the U.S. remaining a high-tax country.
In just the past two months, at least six countries have announced plans to cut their corporate tax rates: Canada, Hong Kong, Korea, South Africa, Spain and Taiwan. In an interview in the Korea Times, Choi Kyung-hwan, a member of the new Administration's Presidential Transition Committee, said, "The corporate income tax reduction is not a matter of choice, but a matter of life and death for Korea in an increasingly globalized business environment."
and also:
"In the end, the key to improving America's business tax competitiveness is a partnership between federal and state lawmakers to work toward the common goal of lowering the overall business tax burden in the U.S. Otherwise, the U.S. will continue to fall behind in the global tax race simply by standing still."
american corporations do not pay anywhere near the lowest corporate tax rates in the world. please speak to facts, not what you read at kos.
"Canada, Hong Kong, Korea, South Africa, Spain and Taiwan" Cutting corporate taxes? Must be because they've seen it doesn't work, huh?
Thanks, Mustang and Heidianne....poor Ducky, facts get to him so.
Ducky, most economists are suggesting we're heading down Japan's path....read. Not a good idea.
btw, all, constantin is our exchange student from the berlin area of germany. when he arrived here he thought obama was wonderful. but, in the course of living with mr. j and me, he has been challenged and challenged and challenged some more on the statements he makes.
i was raised to never accept anything at face value - remember the old ronald reagan adage of "trust but verify" - and so when he makes a statement he MUST support his argument. same rule i had for my own children as well.
i have never told my children (nor my exchange students - he's our 11th) what to think or believe. but by forcing them to support their arguments all of them are now conservatives. and in terms of exchange students that is students from all over europe.
he's a great kid and is enjoying immensely challenging his california teachers and also his friends and family at home. in talking with his mother yesterday, i learned that she is no longer enamored of obama or socialism in general. she is now on the side of the conservative movement in germany.
this is a huge victory and brought about by a teenager. amazing!
Sounds like Ducky's Here has a big problem.
Thinking straight.
I encounter many Duckys in my daily classes. These students learn a couple of terms about government or economics and tend to throw them around in an effort to sound intelligent.
I am tolerant and allow them to discover the errors they are making by directing them to check their textbooks or furnishing them my college econ. books and encouraging them to read and study.
They do for the most part and are able, through study and discussion, to construct a coherent understanding of the government and economic system.
These are high school students so there is hope for Ducky, because even old dogs can learn new tricks. Someday, like the high school students I teach, I hope Ducky can come to grips with the facts and learn that memorizing a few economic terms doesn't make one an economist and watching obscure Eastern European films doesn't make one cultured.
He might also consider that pomposity and arrogance is not a substitute for knowledge.
Heidianne's posts on economics are a great learning tool for me as I struggle to understand economics theory. Of all the social studies disciplines econ. is by far the most difficult. I did read the book at the Mises site recommended I believe by her uncle. Nice read and lots of knowledge.
As for me, I'll just wallow in my mediocrity and continue to watch John Wayne movies.
Heidianne, that's fantastic.
Just backing up arguments kind of forces you into conservatism..
Not saying Dems have NO good ideas (much) but you can't go on FEELINGS, you need FACTS. And they don't want any.
Hey, Blog..too bad you ain't got one...I like your thinking!! Come back soon
Bottom line is this whole thing is racist. Questioning Obama, making fun of the people celebrating in Washington. So what if they used plastic bottles, which they are against. So what if they spent 3x as much as they criticized Bush for spending. So what if they left mounds of polution which they abhore. Your missing the historic nature of the first black President. Criticizing him is, well, racist and you need to be watched by the DHS. I'm taking notes for Janet Napolitreno as I type. Well, after I type. You know what I mean.
thanks for the compliment l&o teach. high praise coming from someone as knowledgable about the world as you. i'm not an expert, by any means, but i do have a pretty good grasp of things - with my uncle and his brothers (including my father) teaching me all of my life, i'd have to be completely ignorant (rather than just a little ditsy somedays) to not have learned something...
amazing, isn't z, that if you have to actually support your arguments you have to become fairly conservative - to say the least.
amazing and sad, Heidianne.
Chuck...think we're on Napolitano's list? How could we NOT be? We've dared criticize and question THE ONE.
He said personal responsibility, they heard 'free' money and less work.
Is Mr. Durham referring to Greenville, South Carolina in his comments?
I ask because that is my neck of the woods, as I have kin all over Anderson.

The right supposedly believes in less government, which also means less money squeezed from enslaved tax payers.
The right also believes that humans should be judged on their merits, not quotas or victim status of the week.
The right believes in strong national defense, for after all, hard to pay those taxes for all those victims if your country is lying in a state of burned up , bombed real estate and people ( taxpayers ) are dead.
The right believes that freedom of speech should not be a catch phrase for con men, aka politicians but a true belief, that goes for all humans who are citizens of this great country.
The right believes that America is a good country, and does good things.
The right believes that so called presidents, should not go around on their dollar or dime to other countries , knocking America and groveling to bad guys.
I could post more beliefs about the right but don't want to take up all the space here.
WVDOTTR
you take as MUCH space as you need, WV...felt good to read that! THANKS!!
And, yes...Larry Durham is from S Carolina.
