George Soros on Egypt

Read the underlined link and you'll find that we're in good hands...Mr. Obama's doing just what George Soros thinks ought to be done.   (Yes, I am being sarcastic)..Please read these paragraphs from my linked article:

"The Muslim Brotherhood's cooperation with Mohamed ElBaradei, the Nobel laureate who is seeking to run for president, is a hopeful sign that it intends to play a constructive role in a democratic political system (Z: Will Soros play"puppet master" there, too?). As regards contagion, it is more likely to endanger the enemies of the United States - Syria and Iran - than our allies, provided that they are willing to move out ahead of the avalanche (Z:  so that's a GOOD thing??!!).The main stumbling block is Israel. In reality, Israel has as much to gain from the spread of democracy in the Middle East as the United States has. But Israel is unlikely to recognize its own best interests because the change is too sudden and carries too many risks (Z: As if Israel is just too stupid?)  And some U.S. supporters of Israel are more rigid and ideological than Israelis themselves (Z: can that BE?! :-). Fortunately, Obama is not beholden to the religious right, which has carried on a veritable vendetta against him (Z; no comment...I'm too much a lady). The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is no longer monolithic or the sole representative of the Jewish community. The main danger is that the Obama administration will not adjust its policies quickly enough to the suddenly changed reality.
I am, as a general rule, wary of revolutions. But in the case of Egypt, I see a good chance of success. As a committed advocate of democracy and open society, I cannot help but share in the enthusiasm that is sweeping across the Middle East. I hope President Obama will expeditiously support the people of Egypt (Z: in other words, those are his instructions...). My foundations are prepared to contribute what they can. In practice, that means establishing resource centers for supporting the rule of law (Z; Unless they go against Soros' plans), constitutional reform (Z:  Especially in America, George?), fighting corruption and strengthening democratic institutions in those countries that request help in establishing them, while staying out of those countries where such efforts are not welcome."

There's so much to comment on here that I simply can't.........I'll leave it up to YOU, you "rigid and ideological Israel supports who carry a veritable vendetta against Obama" :-)    Is Mr. Soros a little overly optimistic?  Is he just nuts when he actually suggests that the Muslim Brotherhood and ElBaradei might be good for Egypt?  Well, let's face it, ElBaradei IS a Nobel Laureate, how bad can he be!? (heh heh)  OH, the fun never stops.

What do you think of Soros' observations?    Meanwhile, we can see how reasonable and willing to cooperate the Muslim Brotherhood is today,  HERE.  oy.

Should we give Soros any credibility at all? Remember, it serves his purpose to support the Muslim Brotherhood; they will help him re-structure the entire world. Talk about an ego ...

How is it in Israel's best interest to have the Muslim Brotherhood in charge of every one of its neighbors? It isn't.

But one thing is true: Obama is not beholden to any one ... except the Muslim Brotherhood, who helped propel him into the oval office.

So when Egypt begins to ethnically cleanse the Christian Copts from Cairo next year and chasing them into the desert and forcing them to die of thirst and starvation, it'll be no big deal since the "crazy" Christian Right wasn't consulted and Christians don't matter anyway since they can't be "victims" in the Left's PC rulebook.

Thanks for playing, idiot.

Common Sense is lying in the manner leftists are want to do. Did Ronald Reagan refer to the Mujahedeen as "freedom fighters?" Yes, he did. He supported the Mujahedeen in the same way Texas Democrat Charlie Wilson did: as pawns against our cold war foe, the Soviet Union.

It would have been impossible for Reagan to meet with the Taliban in the oval office since they never came into existence until 1992, three years after Reagan left office.

This is what happens when Salon becomes your primary source …

No, "Common Sense," your point was to take a caption from a left-wing website's photo of Reagan meeting with representatives of Ahmad Shah Massoud's mujihadeen to try to smear Reagan as a "Taliban supporter."

No doubt the initiators of this smear saw turbans and immediately thought of terrorists, but to perpetuate the smears born of the tireless stupidity of leftists really serves no point whatsoever.

The only party making a mistake here is yours, "Common Sense."

From Wikipedia:

'On September 9, 2001, two days before the September 11 attacks in the United States, Massoud was assassinated in Takhar Province of Afghanistan by two suspected Arab al-Qaeda suicide bombers posing as journalists. The following year, he was named "National Hero" by the order of Afghan President Hamid Karzai. The date of his death, September 9, is observed as a national holiday known as "Massoud Day" in Afghanistan. [3] The year following his assassination, in 2002, Massoud was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, although the prize can only be awarded to a living person.'

He was an Afghan freedom fighter, not Taliban, which was why Al Qaeda had him killed. They knew what the plan was & didn't want him siding with the U.S.

"Ahmad Shah Massoud and his US supported mujihadeen were NOT the Taliban."

Beamish is right. Also, Massoud was the leader of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan.

His murder was ordered by Osama Bin Laden after he gained in influence. Bin Laden couldn't tolerate the competition with Massoud who was loved by his people.

The Northern Alliance were our Afghani allies during our invasion of Afghanistan.

As Mustang points out, Reagan was focused on the cold war with the Soviet Union, and worked with the Mujahadeen to drive the Soviets out of Afghanistan.

We could not allow the Soviets to expand into Afghanistan.

As far as Soros is concerned, IMO, he needs chaos and instability to gain in power, and money. His area of expertise lies in economic instability.

The world, as it stands at the moment is rife with instability and chaos. There are shortages, and inflation which raise costs, which create the environment for desperation and rebellion.

He can speak of democracy and an open society 'til the cows come home, but that's merely smoke and mirrors.

The left sells their agenda with nice words, while destroying what they claim to support. It's called propaganda. George Soros is an evil man for whom enough is never enough.

But all you "freedom and democracy" folk (LMAO) sure don't want the Egyptians choosing the bad freedom. We'll have to intervene.

Ducky pretends to believe Egyptians only want freedom and democracy. After they “democratically” elect a fundamentalist government, they can then dispense with democracy and implement Shar’ia law. I hold Bill Clinton partially responsible for his death. Massoud's forces led a CIA team to Osama Bin Laden to take him out TWICE and Clinton's administration (Bitchard Clarke, Sandy Burglar, etc.) pulled the plug on the op both times.

With full US support, the Northern Alliance could have routed the Taliban AND handed over bin Laden dead or alive by 1997.

Massoud stayed out of the mainstream news, for the most part. But if you were reading "whacko" right-wing pubs like Soldier of Fortune magazine in 1986, you would have known all about him. So far Rand Paul is a huge disappointment -- not savvy at all. Too bad! He's a faired haired boy with the Tea Party. I believe his father is liked and supported by the Tea Party as well -- or isn't he?

And aren't "we" supposed to like and support the Tea Party?

But, why are you riding the Ron Paul/Rand Paul third rail, Beamish? I don't believe anyone has referred to either of them on this thread except you.

Also, don't assume you have ESP and are able to divine the motives "behind" other people's remarks. As the saying goes, "Whenever we assume anything, it make an ass of you and me."

You seem to have an idée fixe about Ron Paul. I merely mentioned him in passing the other day as an intriguing figure who expressed appealing ideas on managing the economy during the 2008 primary debates. (The other candidates struck me as insincere, politics-as-usual types woefully lacking in credibility and dynamism. Paul was at least interesting.) At any rate, the mere mention of Ron Paul's name obviously touched a nerve in you, and you've been virtually foaming at the mouth and slinging vitriolic rhetoric about Ron Paul ever since.

What's the point? You can take any position you want, of course, but don't you think other people should be entitled to express their opinions as well without being treated to a torrent of verbal abuse?

As for the "Tea Party," I'm not a member (do they even have a membership roll?) and my resistance to joining them is because certain groups they allow to use the name "Tea Party" backed Rand Paul. Don't forget some left-wing guy in Nevada ran as a "Tea Party candidate" as well. Seems no one has rights to the name.

I'm not a member of the Republican Party for the same reason. My tent isn't big enough to include any leftists. Sure, I'll vote Republican to support libertarian-conservative fusionist candidates (who the "Tea Party" ought to be focusing on) but I'll pass on bullshit artists. Rand Paul, like his left-wing father, is a bullshit artist.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Beamish; you mention Rand Paul to "Anonymous"...yup, your instinct was right.

I try. I think it funny that the wheels are still off the "neoconservatives are the amen corner / minions of the Israeli government" Protocols of the Elders of Zion anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that Ron / Rand Paul and their filthy ilk operate by. You've got the Israeli government supporting Mubarak in Egypt, and American neo-cons are all about forming a transition government there that includes Hamas, er the Muslim Brotherhood.

There is no paleo / neo divide in conservatism. It's always been "spot the Jew" anti-Semitism creating that purely artificial distinction for racist reasons.

Never mind that many non-Jews are or were "neoconservatives" - Dan Quayle, Newt Gingrich, Jeane Kirkpatrick, etc.

I know the role Ron and Rand Paul have. They're there so the left can point to their infiltrator and say "look, the Republicans support neo-Nazis."

Republicans ought to encourage the Pauls to go be Democrats, where their ideas have currency.

By the way, Beamish, how is it that Dan Quayle, Newt Gingrich and the ancient arch-conservative Jeanne Kirkpatrick (of all people!!!) qualify in your mind as neo-conservatives? Perhaps they are, but I never would have thought it.

Also, who were the minds behind the ill-fated Project for a New American Century? And where are those people today?

I may have been laboring under a misconception as to what neo-conservatives and a paleo-conservatives really are. I never use the latter term, myself, but I have alway assumed it must refer to people who have always been conservative as opposed to recent converts.

For all I know Ronald Reagan may well have qualified as a neo-conservative when he told us he became a latter day Republican, because the Democratic party had left him -- not the other way 'round.

The definitions you use for various things may be perfectly correct, Beamish, but I think you may err in assuming everyone else uses the same definitions you do.

Anonymous said...

As far as I know, a neo-conservative is someone who spent most of his life as a Marxist or a Democrat [There's not much difference between them anymore, is there?] and then switched sides for one of two reasons -- either he saw the error of his ways and genuinely repented - OR - he realized the wind was suddenly blowing in a new direction, and it would work to his advantage to change course and go with the flow.

So, some became new members of the conservative movement because of genuine change of heart, while others have done so cynically and opportunistically -- in other words they know which side their bread is buttered on.

For good or for ill PNAC is dead. Most of the people on your list are not in power and many of them have been demeaned and discredited. Bill Bennett currently hosts an affably ineffectual early morning talk show called Morning in America -- a sad comedown from having been Secretary of Education and Drug Tsar under Ronald Reagan.

Krauthammer has been a brilliant conservative journalist for decades -- an admirable figure.

Steve Forbes remains a credible voice in the world of Business and Finance.

Dick Cheney is still Dick Cheney, thank God, though he may very well be part of the cabal of power-mad internationalists dedicated to the establishment of A New World Order.

Dan Quayle never has been and never will be anyone special.

Do you think The American Conservative Union is an anti-Semitic organization?

Just because a large proportion of the "Semites" have vigorously supported -- and continue to support -- Marxist-Communist-Socialist-Anarchistic-Liberal-Progressive-Collectivist-Totalitarian agendas does NOT mean that those who vigorously oppose and attempt to defeat totalitarianism in ALL its forms are, perforce, anti-Semitic.

That's the same brand of obfuscatory illogic that succeeded in shutting down and discrediting Joe McCarthy, who -- like it or not -- was really onto something.

McCarthy was a lot like Glenn Beck -- the wrong messenger to carry the right message.

I was alive, well and aware when McCarthy was doing his thing. I happen to have gone to school with the daughter of Henry Regnery [Yes THAT Henry Regnery] and knew the family pretty well. I assure you they were anything but "Hitlerites," but they sure were vehement anti-Communists, God bless 'em.

Just because Hitler was an anti-Communist as well as the truest and deadliest anti-Semite the world has ever known, does not lend one iota of legitimacy to the notion that anti-Communism is the same thing as anti-Semitism.

Many of the names on the list I gave above, the signers of the PNAC Declaration of Principles, are in fact Jews. All of them are anti-Communists. Many of them served in the Reagan administration.

The "neoconservative" label applied to them has largely a distinction pointing out their Jewishness rather than their political beliefs, a tactic employed by "spot the Jew" anti-Semitic smear artists from every strain of leftism (be they the Ron Paul white supremacist neo-Nazi variety or the Jeff Rense / Alex Jones Holocaust denial anti-"New World Order" / anti-Council on Foreign Relations / anti-Trilateral Commission propagandist variety).

We both know you would tell us all about the Jewish names you can spot in various government and policy development / advisory positions, and nothing about what their political positions and agendas actually are.

I doubt you even know what the Trilateral Commission and Council on Foreign Relations actually do, but I'm sure you'll have some delusional hypothesis about Masonic lodges and Satanic rituals and UFO crashes to explain yourself.

There is no "cabal of power-mad internationalists dedicated to the establishment of A New World Order."

"Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order [referring to the 1991 LA Riot]. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond [i.e., an "extraterrestrial" invasion], whether real or *promulgated* [emphasis mine], that threatened our very existence.

It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this *scenario*, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government."

"From the days of Sparticus, Wieskhopf, Karl Marx, Trotsky, Rosa Luxemberg, and Emma Goldman, this world conspiracy has been steadily growing. This conspiracy played a definite recognizable role in the tragedy of the French revolution. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the 19th century. And now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their head and have become the undisputed masters of that enormous empire."

Winston Churchill, stated to the London Press, in l922.

"The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power political, monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical.

What the Trilateral Commission intends is to create a worldwide economic power superior to the political governments of the nationstates involved. As managers and creators of the system, they will rule the future."

Please refrain from cutting and pasting singular out of context lines you found on your favorite race-baiting anti-Semitic UFOlogy Holocaust denier websites. They do not provide you the context those quotes are drawn from, and that we both know you've never read the source material if any such actually exists.

Take for instance:

"We shall have world government whether or not you like it, by conquest or consent."

Statement by Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member James Warburg to The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on February 17th, l950

Yes. That's the whole "Statement." Mr Warburg just walked into the middle of a Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1950, picked up a mike, jumped up on a table, wiggled his hips like Elvis, belted out that one line and threw the microphone down like a rock star and walked out. And no one knows why but YOU.

Did your mother have any babies that lived? My God you're an idiot.

"We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries."

David Rockefeller, founder of the Trilateral Commission, in an address to a meeting of The Trilateral Commission, in June, 1991.

Pssst.

That quote is incorrect.

Warburg actually said "We shall have world government, whether or not we like it. The question is only whether world government will be achieved by consent or by conquest."

A statement far less sinister in its actual verbiage, and downright benign in its Cold War context of arguing for reformation of the UN Charter to exclude totalitarian states and to reaffirm the sovereignty of democratic member states.

Sorry, FeebThinky, James Warburg wasn't in on your "cabal of power-mad internationalists dedicated to the establishment of A New World Order," as no such thing exists.

Do your racist websites take all of those quotes you copy and pasted out of context and twist them for maximum propaganda, or is that a perversion reserved just for the quoted Jews and those who spoke against the Nazis? Shall I check the Disraeli and Churchill quotes for accuracy and context?

I don't mind enlightening you, FeebThinky, but let me know if I need to cover numbers, shapes, and colors for you.

Just be honest. It never even occured to you to check your Holocaust denial websites for accuracy, did it?

Nice. Now you're oscillating between mangling the words, context, and intent of words delivered by a Jewish-American memeber of the CFR to quoting the bogeyman ramblings of the progressive leftist Democrat President Wilson, he that revitalized the Ku Klux Klan with federal dollars.

Your repetoire is almost as shallow as your thinking, FeebThinky.

Google "stupid racist asshole" and see if your picture comes up.

Are you by any chance trying to hurt my feelings, Beamish? ;-)

It's obvious you could not be interested in anything else. Your behavior is pathological -- just plain nasty nothing else. If I keep responding to your abusive, mendacious accusations as though they deserved serious consideration, I'll be as guilty as you of indulging in a purposeless exchange.

Since no one else has joined us, and you have nothing to add but further insolence and stupid lies there's no point in continuing this farce.

I bow to you, O King of the Dunghill. The field is thine. Go spread your manure and enjoy exercising your viciousness in solitude.

I don't know what I find more humorous, TheeFinke - your ineffectual blustering or your relentless imbecility.

All I've done is point out that:

- you're pulling copy and paste jobs from your favorite white supremacist neo-Nazi Holocaust denial websites.

- the quotes you pull from your favorite racist websites do not explain their true context, and most are not really even correct quotes, but rather deliberate misrepresentations

- a modicum of research shows the people you and your favorite racist websites are attempting to smear and misquote are actually the exact opposite of someone seeking a "one world government"

- you have an unhealthy fixation on smearing Jews, even after being called on it

- you won't address the fact that everything you've presented is solidly refutable, and refuted.

Let's be polite and respectful, and intellectually honest. We both know you're a fucking moron. No need to dispute the obvious.

Now go smash windows outside a World Trade Organization conference with your fellow left-wing Code Pink Klansmen, you faggot.
