Be a Democrat.............go ahead, swallow hard and do it.

Obama's been on the West Coast....he had dinner maybe 1 mile from me tonight and they'd warned of three hour gridlock (again) but there was nobody on the streets at rush hour, it's been positively eerie.  I think everyone took it seriously when our councilman said "stay home, avoid the gridlock" and companies must have sent people home early.

Here's why I'm talking about this, I didn't mean to give you a traffic report!
At a San Francisco event two days ago, liberal protesters said to Obama:

"We'll vote for you in 2012, yes that's true. Look at the Republicans — what else can we do?"

What else can they do, indeed.  They're angry at him, they're protesting him, but "look at the Republicans.."    I think it's a little odd they'd even say "Look at the Republicans" instead of something typically loathsome and dismissive.  Are they looking at Republicans?  If so, they sounds as impressed as this Republican is..........which is not at all.

Put aside your good values, your strict constructionist constitution views, your love of our history, your hatred of socialism and hopes for a future as good as the past's been...........be a Democrat for a second and tell us ....Which Republican could you vote for and why?

I'll be very curious to hear your response.  thanks.

Typically, the challenger to the incumbent runs against that incumbent by demonizing the incumbent and his policies.

But in 2012, incumbent BHO will be running against his challenger in the same manner that BHO ran against GWB -- never mind that GWB was leaving anyway.

I came up against this strategy when I had a heated discussion with my liberal neighbor's adult son, who kept yammering on, "This is an unprecedented time in American history....Bush is leaving." I have to say that my liberal neighbor's son is well educated and knows (or should know) full well that a President leaves after 2 full terms. Yet, my neighbor's son completely forgot that fact and was rejoicing that GWB was leaving only because he was defeated by BHO.

I'll say this for the Dems: they do have excellent strategies for winning.

Mitt Romney, maybe, because ObamaCare was modeled after the Massachusetts plan.

How many Dem voters will stay home in 2012? The outcome in 2012 might well depend on that.

McCain was the Republican that Democrats would "supposedly" be able to vote for. Look what happened.

Screw the Democrats. They want the hard Left? Then we should give THEM the hard-Right!

My feeble brain won't allow me to think in those terms!!

The MSM seems to love Romney, so that would be my guess too.

So far, I haven't seen a candidate that would be any better than Obummer. And that's including Trump the quasi-candidate.

Method acting? My favorite.

Alright. I'm Democrat. Somewhere around 75 to 100 IQ points less than current position.

I need a President that will make me make the hard choice between walking to suburbia and beyond for a job interview that probably won't pan out, or keep throwing my unemployment check at Joe Biden's friends in the Wilmington credit card cartel so I can buy ever-increasingly expensive gas from an American oil company that isn't even allowed to drill in America for oil to get there.

I sure as hell don't need a President that would think about and argues with his lines on the teleprompter.

We need a President than can sell anything whatever stupid it is.

Someone to make me blame brand names rather than products.

The commercial comes on. The voiceover....

"Are you tired of paying high prices to the American Corporation that dodges domestic restrictions and enviromental regulations by exploiting cheap labor overseas to import their products into America? Try new Chinese Oil Company. Their enviromentally friendly products come from the coasts of South America, home of the Amazon rainforests."

And then the candidate's picture appears, smiling ear-to-ear like the guy in the Enzyte commercial. Maybe GGI in a twinkle of light gleaming from frictionlessly polished teeth accompanied with a ding from the high note side of the xylophone.

We need Barack Obama.

It's racist that the Republicans won't let him run as their candidate too.

Can I stop being a Democrat now?

It's racist that you Republicans want to beat Obama in 2012.

Why all the violent rhetoric?

You just want to beat him. Beat the black man. Racist racist racist!

Tom, if you can say this, while calling the President, Obummer, I don't know how you can think none of the probable Republican Candidates would be better.

You either want a left wing radical for President, or you don't. If you don't, any of the prospective Rep. candidates would be better.

Being a Democrat, and being a left wing loon Democrat, is a big distinction.

I know mainstream Dems, who wouldn't vote for Obama, for love or money.

It's a little early in this race for me to play this game, but I guess I'd have to say Romney too.
