Obama's speech

I have to go out but have Obama's speech on while I get ready;   I actually thought he might stop the gamesmanship and spanking of the Republicans....but it's even worse than ever.   Why does he keep saying "and it's PAID FOR (this jobs bill)....all we need is millionaires and billionaires to pay more."   IS it paid for NOW or is it not.   And, the last words I just heard were "...no matter how much I PREACH to the American people..."
Is he kidding?

Could any of you bring yourself to listen?   Please comment.   I'm stunned.  Also, please let me know what president in the last 100 years has been as insulting and demanding and arrogant as this one has.  He's just plain right, damn it, and if we don't listen, we're putting party before country?   REALLY?   WOW.

OH, and I just heard him say he "has the dings and bruises to prove it.."   Poor man, getting beat up.  I suppose it's because his poll numbers are tanking and that's his 'dings and bruises'....now who's putting himself first?

Thanks.

He should be asking the Senate Dems why thy wouldn't vote on it. McConell said the Republicans were ready and Dirty Harry Reid decided he needed tochamge the bill cuz even the Details.s know with tax hikes they're not getting reelected. Talk about disingenuous.

Well I didn't have to leave but chose to take the cat for a pedicure and when I came back he was still on the same question.

I don't even get upset with his rhetoric anymore,I just laugh it off. He's not worth my blood pressure which happened to be 112/76 yesterday so I guess I have learned to cope.

Z said...

Elbro, that's exactly right. He makes it sound like it's law tomorrow if those loathsome Republicans didn't hate the working man so much. As if most of them AREN'T working men and women.

And he talks like Republicans love loopholes, too...as if we champion cheats. it's sickening.

I think it's more than tax hikes; he knows very well that people are tired of the government paying, paying, paying...and untrusting when we don't know where most of the Stimulus money is, etc.
Of course, when the "shovel ready jobs" he stressed today are finished, then what? Back to the rich to finance more jobs for a year or two?

Lisa...good BP!! :-) I'm dying to know if anybody in the press corps had the GUTS to ask about Solyndra. Have to go watch some news since I just got back.

It appears he has even lost his own party. Might as well walk around with a Kick Me sign on his back.

Overplayed the idea that nobody would dare diss the black guy.

Of course what you are accepting, z, is a miserable economy that is going to become marginally worse for another year and a half before the Repubs get a chance to screw up.

Hell of a victory.

Z said...

Ya, Ducky, what can I do? I just LOVE ME a BAD ECONOMY...right.
Let me just suggest that we may have to go through harder times before this country stabilizes on its own and continues to hum as it has in the past; we don't need to borrow ourselves into a hole no country could ever recover from.

But, that's the difference between socialists and conservatives; some day, conservatives know, everyone will run out of money if we keep taxing and spending, even the "RICH", and then what?

The man has absolutely NO clue about what he is talking about.

Ducky's here said...

No, I'd say the difference,z, is that a number of people on the left have, with some thanks to Obummer, realized that the government is simply a bunch of stooges and they are starting to focus on the enemy.

The right seems to be worried about their bond portfolio.

Z said...

Ducky, No, you're wrong.
I'd say THAT's the difference.

Well, Sarah Palin made it clear she's not going to run for President in 2012.

Man, she's getting really good at quitting.

But, I guess you can't "go rogue" and be involved at the same time.

The amount of fight in a Teabagger can be measured in days.

He is a damnable LIAR, pure and simple who will say and do anything to push his agenda and get re-elected.
Using Reagen's words totally out of context is despicable. Reagen cut the loopholes but also lowered tax rates for EVERYONE. Even JFK was smart enough to know that lower taxes mean more revenue, more investment and more growth. BUT the truth of all this does not suit the "socialist n chief's" agenda not that of his henchmen.

Reid is another one. LIE and then attempt to pack the bill with tax hikes.

Even many Dems who can think, even for survival, are taking a pass on this pile of crap.

Chuck said...

No Duck, what is going to happen is a Republican is going to become President next year, turn the economy around, and Obama will get the credit. That's how it works.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Well, you can't exactly count on the Teabaggers to support a conservative. They don't know what one is.

Z said...

Beamish, you do realize, don't you, that by your standards you're the only Conservative left on the planet? Congratulations.
This is starting to sound silly.

And, by the way, Santorum was THIS "non-Conservative's" choice, too. While I'm no TP member, I stand strongly with them.

I think we can all agree the Teabaggers have failed in their quest to present a conservative candidate.

Whether you agree that presentation of a conservative candidate was possible for a group of left-wing populists to do in the first place doesn't really matter.

And, by the way, Santorum was THIS "non-Conservative's" choice, too. While I'm no TP member, I stand strongly with them.

Their tactic of not tearing down Mitt Romney is working, huh?

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

At least Mitt Romney isn't "milquetoast." LOL

Z said...

I'm no Romney fan; you're making a LOT of assumptions, aren't you.
And sounding VERY weird and a little naive by now, but you go ahead! :-)

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

That's just it. The Teabagger "movement" claims they don't like Romney, yet none of their candidates will go on offense against him.

In fact, they run cover for him. Tim Pawlenty went after Romney and the Teabagger candidates attacked Pawlenty, knocking him out of the race.

Rick Perry went after Romney and look who the Teabagger candidates are tearing down now. That's right, Perry.

Chris Christie flirted with getting in the race to go after Romney, and the Teabagger candidates attacked him into not running.

And now Sarah Palin doesn't want the left-wing Teabaggers to tear her up either if she goes after Romney, so she's fading back into the sticks McCain dragged her out of.

The Teabagger "movement" gave us Romney as the GOP nominee. Thanks, "conservatives."

Spit.

well, Beamish , as much as I disagree with on a lot lately (and always have regarding Sarah Palin being a quitter...there were too many excellent reasons for ALaska that she left when she did...as much as I agree with her on many things, I am SO glad she didn't run and SO hope she goes away for a long while).....I have to agree on Romney.

ptui.

but, I'd vote for Jack the Republican RIPPER over Obama.

At least Romney isn't a Pokemon master.

Go sell that book, Herman. And don't come back. Ever. Ever ever ever.

Beamish said "I think we can all agree the Teabaggers have failed in their quest to present a conservative candidate."

The Teaparty has never been about "presenting a candidate". They are not that organized, and whenever you see a Teaparty spokesperson on TV, you know they are not talking for everyone.

The strength of the Teaparty movement is that it is not a political party. It is a bunch of loosely affiliated people who want to elect candidates of conservative fiscal views. They don't come up with, or present candidates, they just support someone they like. It's that simple.

At least, that is what I tell people at our Teaparty meetings. But, then again, I can't spell Tea Party or Teaparty. Well, I must admit that I don't go to meetings, but if I did that's what I would say.

Since everybody is banging on Santorum, I don't think he was ever in the running. I always saw him as a light weight. Pawlenty had the creds, but not the personality and drive. Romney has the brains and drive, but porked the puppy with RomneyCare. Forget Palin and Bachmann, I never thought they had it.

Herman Cain is smart, accomplished, and almost articulate. He is light years ahead of Obama in experience, and a bit on the light weight side in power politics. He can do it, but will need a strong political adviser, and he will have to listen to the advice.

Whatever happened to Newt, my favorite candidate?

I would be the best candidate, but don't feel like running this year. Cleaning up after Obama will be work, and I just want to go to the parties.

That's easy. Because it isn't.

If you're trying to make a point, Beamish, do it at some BIG blog where your words can count; it sounds like you're trying to teach people something but we're not buying it and I don't have that many readers, anyway...go to Malkin, or Coulter; preach to the masses !:-)

Does anyone even listen to obama anymore, whatever he's saying? If he hasn't done so already, i believe he will become one of those politicians so tainted, so untrustworthy, so despised that most will simply refuse to heed anything he says.

Our own prime minister is one of those, we don't care what she says anymore, right or wrong, we don't want her in any form.

MathewK said...

Hi Z, in answer to your question, it's around 60-70% who don't like her.

Put it another way, the number of people satisfied with her is around 29%.

That's really bad considering we're supportive of leftards and the media is largely on her side.

Or as i like to put it, she better look both ways in the parking lot or when crossing the street cos chances are most will not brake for her.

Z said...

MK, thanks for coming by with that answer. I'm really surprised.
But, you don't see the country going to the Right in those stats, you just see even libs not liking her anymore, correct?
