Sunday Faith Blog

This is THE best FEEL GOOD story we could hear, especially at Christmas......People are paying off layaway bills for families who can't pay the final amounts for childrens' toys and other things for Christmas!  Read about one woman who did an astonishing thing!
You will REALLY love the linked story........I sure did.

I am sworn to secrecy about who it is (and you don't know her, anyway, though her brother was well known), but after Mr. Z died, someone I barely knew sent me a Christmas card with $300 in it....with a note to "spend this on a gift as if your dear husband was buying you something....it's from him"     She does this for new widows every Christmas she hears of someone having lost their husband.

Contemplate gifts like this.... like the gift I got for my first Christmas as a widow, or paying off layaways or just dropping some food at the door of strangers you know are having trouble, or put some toys in a bag by the door of families going through hard times.....Do you have ideas like this you could share with us?....God is alive and well and using His Angels in America!
Put some wings on and and do something wonderful for someone!
"I am still confident of this:  I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."  Psalm 27:13-14   AMEN

It is a great story. God could come down and take care of every thing Himself, but he has given us free will so he asks us to be his hands and to help others for him.

Pretty amazing when you think about it. Your creator asking you to help him. Our God is an awesome God.

Z,
How wonderful that someone reached out to you that first Christmas after Mr. Z went to the Lord!

My mother used to say, "Give me flowers while I'm alive. Don't wait until I die and then put flowers on my grave."

She was right, you know. We should cherish our beloveds while they're with us.

Beyond that, we should reach out to the needy and the bereaved -- some weeks and months after the passing of a spouse, family member, etc. People disappear a few weeks after the funeral, but the bereaved still need to be lifted up.

Great post, Z.

Z, Hard to keep the eyes dry while reading that. I do janitorial/maintenance work at our local Salvation Army Corps. This year there were two gold bars and a diamond found in Bell Ringers kettles in the Kansas City area. I've heard that there was a nice ring in one of the kettles here in Saint Joseph. There does seem to be angles walking among us.
God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

That K-Mart lay away 'angel' phenomenon has really taken off in a 'pay it forward' way. Our little
town yesterday, K-Mart reported 8
people came in and anonymously paid
off $1000 in Christmas toy accounts. Beneficiaries mostly poor single moms living on the edge. Many grateful
tears....

BB, I'm just now hearing this on FOX this morning. I am hoping many stations are covering it but I've not seen it elsewhere.

It's such an amazing idea...the true meaning of Christmas
