Black Chamber of Commerce..."Obama's group is Marxist, like with black shirts and swastikas"

I found this at my buddy BZ's blog and I thank him for bringing it to our attention; it's something that every American should hear, believe me. Please send this to your friends;

I've been wondering why in the world would Obama have a goal of raising one billion dollars to run in 2012 and maybe this is the reason. The CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Harry Alford, thinks Obama might only get 30% of the Black vote. I think he's probably overly optimistic, but I've been wondering how Mr. Obama'd do amongst blacks and maybe Mr. Obama has reason to wonder these days, too?  He mentions Sharpton, he mentions a lot of things you really MUST HEAR.  Please listen to this video.

Mr. Alford said his wife's warned him not to say this but that he feels that the Obama machine is Marxist..."might as well be wearing black shirts and swastikas." Laura asked him why he voted for Obama and Mr. Alford said "Because he's Black......the worst decision in my life."
The thing on which I disagree with Mr. Alford is that he feels Obama's plan to help kids pay their tuitions is wrong. He said Obama says they won't be able to pay their school tuitions once they're out of college so they'll need help but Mr. Alford says "Sure they will!"  I say "NO, they won't...how can they? Only Mr. Obama knows how few businesses will exist in order for those kids (Black or White) to work and pay their tuitions off.. Their incomes, if they do get employed, will be so low that Obama's right, they will not have tuition money". But, mostly, I agree with everything Harry Alford says on this subject.

Please pray for him...he talks all over the country to Black business groups and he said he used to get jibed for trying to open peoples' eyes to Obama's treatment of businesses......but, today, he said most Black audiences shake their heads in agreement.  And hear how MANY Black business there are now...it's excellent.

He could be right about the Black vote in 2012. Could this be something Obama knows, too? Could it be why HE thinks he needs a BILLION DOLLARS to run with?

What did you think of the video and what else did you pick up in it that caught your attention? There was a lot there!  Thanks.

A package delivered 67 years later...just in time?

Z:  I did not write this.....I saw this on Yahoo and wanted to share it with you:

Wilbert Glenn Adriance, my grandpa, died on May 26, 2010, at the age of 91. Battling her own failing health, my Grandma Bonnie, his wife of almost 69 years, struggled afterward with the grief of their separation. She wondered why she was still here on earth, and over the course of the last year, her mind and body were painfully giving out. Some days she didn't recognize her daughter (my mom) or anyone else.
But then something very strange happened. It was March 7, this year, and it would have been Grandpa's 92nd birthday. My mom received a call from Essex, Md., near Baltimore. She and her family had lived there when she was a young girl. But the caller wasn't any friend or family she recognized. Not many remained there anyway. The call was from Bill, a postal worker. He had a package for Grandma, and it was from Grandpa!
Bill explained that the slightly damaged and opened package was addressed to "Mrs. Wilbert Adriance" and had been sent from Farragut, Idaho, to Baltimore. It contained a picture. And it just showed up in the dead mail that day -- Grandpa's birthday. The package showed significant age, as it included Baltimore's pre-ZIP code zone of 21.
Because the ZIP code system began in 1963, we knew the package was at least 48 years overdue. But Mom knew it was even older. Grandpa had only been in Farragut, Idaho, one time in his life. It was during his Navy basic training in 1944! (Idaho may not seem like a natural place for naval training, but 300,000 recruits trained at Farragut Naval Training Station during its four years of war-time service.) The package was 67 years late!
Because the postal worker's father had lived in Essex, he said he was motivated to go beyond his postal-worker duty and try to deliver the long-lost package. He had found Grandpa's obituary online and eventually was able to reach my mom to arrange express delivery to her address. Mom found it quite ironic that its plastic bag explained that damage "will occur because of the great volume handled and the rapid processing methods which must be employed to assure the most expeditious distribution possible." At 67 years old, the package was actually in great shape.
The small cardboard tube contained only the black-and-white photograph of Grandpa's training class, Company 5013-44 - Regiment 2 - Battalion 5. It was dated Sept. 19, 1944. There was no letter, but I am sure that he sent the picture to say, "We are far apart for now, but I'm OK. I am where I am supposed to be. We will be together soon."
Nearly 70 years later, Grandma was able to see the picture and flashed one of her last smiles. She recognized her 25-year-old husband's picture. She said, "Keep it in a safe place." After 67 years, Grandpa's message was faithfully delivered, exactly at the right time: "We are far apart for now, but I'm OK. I am where I am supposed to be. We will be together soon."
My grandma, Vivian Yvonne (Bonnie) Adriance, died one month later on April 10.

Birth Certificate.........FINALLY! ?? UPDATE: This post is MOVED UP because there is SO much more information to discuss....please see newer comments

This is a post from yesterday but the situation's not going away and I wanted to continue the discussions, so please check out the comments section and weigh in.

Original Blog:
Who's the dope?
Since I've discussed the birth certificate here from time to time (mostly from the angle of "why keep it private if it's there and can be proven?"), I figured Obama's supposed 'closure' should be my closure, too.  But, there's a lot of action on my sitemeter for THIS article I posted a while back about why Obama would spend nearly $2 million to keep the birth certificate hidden.  Perhaps others had the same thoughts I had this morning when he sauntered out to the microphones and basically called anybody who questioned his not having provided definite proof the minute the controversy arose a dope.   So, who's the dope?

SO, I found THIS piece, from a blog that appears otherwise fairly neutral, and from which I copy/paste below in italics:

We should note that, since Obama was elected, a number of federal cases related to the birth certificate issue — including several filed by or with the assistance of California attorney Orly Taitz, a leader among Obama birth certificate questioners — have been handled by federal attorneys, including those with the U.S. Department of Justice.
We interpret the quotations by Trump and Palin to mean payments made by Obama in a personal capacity, not in cases where he’s represented in an official capacity by government lawyers. For one thing, both Trump and Palin used the term “legal fees,” which would be irrelevant in a case defended by government lawyers.  (Z: why would anybody necessarily interpret it that way?  I believe the point is that a lot of money was spent by ANYBODY (turns out it's yours and mine now!)...isn't that enough of a curiosity?)

But, while we don’t know exactly how much the Obama camp spent on their private lawyers, there were many, many non-birth-certificate duties that a law firm typically handles in the wake of a presidential campaign, which suggests that any birth certificate work was a small percentage of the overall fees paid to Perkins Coie.   :-)   (Z; does it suggest that, really?)

This comment from that blog sums it up for me:
Doug,
Thanks for clearing that up. I feel a lot better knowing that it wasn’t Obama’s millions fighting the release of the birth certificate. It was the taxpayers money.

And so, NOW WE ARE DONE!   He was BORN HERE and it just took him two years to show us the certificate because he's been 'distracted' with government business!   AND he got every network and all the local stations cutting into normal programming for his explanation about his birth certificate ...  as he even said (so cunningly), he doesn't get that for MUCH MUCH more important issus! So WHO made this an issue? :-)

Let's hope the sun's set over this one.  I, for one, am very happy this is over.......and I hope, if it's all true, it stays over.  Maybe even the "why two years?" question will disappear.   Should it?  By the way, he sure got a good slam in this talk this morning, didn't he?   "We've got enormous challenges here!"   "I've got other things to do"   And he spoke as if every Republican only talked about this issue......quite a campaign speech again.  And all the networks and every single local station.  about a birth certificate whose authenticity could have been put to rest two years ago.  unreal.  Come to think of it, maybe we ARE the dopes.

Kate Hudson is ENGAGED!  (Bear with me here, this is NOT a happy little engagement announcement, I assure you)  Ms Hudson was talking to Matt Lauer and holding her baby-swollen belly most of the time as they talked when he noticed the engagement ring on her hand.  She says HERE that they're going to wait and do "the baby thing" first and then maybe they'll talk about wedding dates.   She had no problem with announcing  "the pregnancy thing" but she says it felt silly to announce her engagement and she was just hoping someone would notice.  Matt did.  It was hard not to.  The diamond is nine carats.

I'm hoping a lot of young woman heard her happily putting marriage aside for a while until the baby's born and follow suit, don't you? (Sarcasm).. Of course, 99.99999% of young girls can't afford to do that without going on the dole and then will raise babies intentionally with no dad, but.......geeeee, Kate's HAPPY!

I was watching HGTV a year or so ago when the realtor-hostess was talking to a couple of prospective home buyers and she asked when they'd be moving in....They said they would be moving in together once they were married.   Her response was "oh, really!  Well, THAT's another alternative, isn't it!"   "Another alternative?"

Imagine if some young rocker or actor couple announced they were thrilled to be marrying, waiting to have children because they feel that's the way to go?   Do you think they'd be celebrated for their values?

Our poor teen aged mothers and their poor, poor children...the future generation of America.

Who IS this stranger?

I didn't write this but received it in an email the other day:

A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our
small Texas town.  From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family.  The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on.

As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family..  In my young
mind, he had a special niche.  My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey.  But the stranger...he was our storyteller.  He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with Adventures, mysteries and comedies.

If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future!  He took my family to the first major
league ball game.  He made me laugh, and he made me cry.  The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind.

Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to the kitchen for peace and quiet. (I wonder now if she ever prayed for the
stranger to leave.)

Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them.  Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home... Not from us, our friends or any visitors.
Our longtime visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush.  My Dad didn't permit the liberal use of alcohol..  But the stranger encouraged
us to try it on a regular Basis.  He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly and pipes distinguished. He talked freely (much too freely!) about sex.  His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and
generally embarrassing.

I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced  strongly by the stranger.  Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked... And NEVER asked to leave.

More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family.  He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first.  Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today, you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures.

His name?.... .. .We just call him 'TV.' He has a wife now....We call her Computer.'

Z:  Do you think the television's done more harm than good?  It's an intriguing hypothesis, don't you think?    I have my opinions...what are yours?

Violent Union Tactics: Taught by Professors

This video is something every person who either loves America or is paying for a kid in college or both ought to see and send around.

I know kids fall for somehow 'romantic' French Revolution-like tactics when they've been instructed that Capitalism is bad and cops are head-beaters, but to see grown professors push this kind of stuff is eye opening.   When do the professors finally grow up?  Is this just a part of free speech we need to embrace while they're encouraging violent revolution?
Can someone here tell me what you think these professors would consider their perfect world?

Thanks, Imp, for the video...z

"Garden Variety Thieves"?

I am quite sure I've never posted on Lindsay Lohan before and hope not to again;  her miserable life can't  interest me or you, but I saw in a headline that a judge has reduced her charges and that interested me enough to read  THIS ARTICLE which contains the following sentence which caught my eye;

While Lohan's attorney said the star didn't intend to steal the necklace, Meyers disagreed, saying: "This is garden-variety theft."

Are there "garden-variety thefts" now?  And do we reduce charges based on a judge's feelings of what's garden-variety and what's legitimately punishment-worthy?  And if YOU stole an expensive necklace, or ANYthing, do you think you'd be looked upon only as a 'garden-variety thief' and have your charges reduced?

What do you think?
z

It PAINS ME TO POST THIS....but I believe he's right, God help us

As it turns out, this was probably not written by Dr. Walter Williams....I received this multiple times via email the last few days and published it because I think it's right, no matter WHO wrote it...but there's now talk that it's a moveon.org hoax and they "apologize".  It matters not whether Walter Williams wrote it or you did, in my opinion.

Whoever wrote it can't be faulted....I believe all ten points need to be discussed.
When someone can prove that most Hispanics will vote Republican, or most Blacks will vote Republican, or most Union members, or most college-educated women, or most Democrats....or that most big businesses won't support him (except for Big Oil who he's now attempting to throw under the bus for his lack of leadership on the gasoline price situation) OR that the media will honestly announce his huge faults and the failures of the this first 2 1/2 years, or even TRY to look into his past (who paid for Harvard and Columbia?) then maybe we can rest easier and I would have deleted the post.  But, I can't.... So, here's some of the "Walter Williams' piece (I deleted his photo and much of his introduction).......whoever actually did say makes excellent points and I believe we need to wake up and start working to get the truth out SOON.  It's good to know what we're up against:

Can President Obama be defeated in 2012?  No.  He can't.
There simply are no conditions under which Barak Obama can be defeated in 2012.
The quality of the Republican candidate doesn't matter.  Obama gets reelected.
Nine percent unemployment?  No problem.  Obama will win.
Gas prices moving toward five dollars a gallon?  He still wins.
The economy soars or goes into the gutter.  Obama wins.
War in the Middle East?  He wins a second term.
America's role as the leading Superpower disappears?  Hurrah for Barak Obama!

The American people are notoriously ignorant of economics.  And economics is the key to why Obama should be defeated.  Even when Obama's policies lead the nation to final ruin, the majority of the American people are going to believe the bait-and-switch tactics Obama and his supporters in the media will use to explain why it isn't his fault.  After all, things were much worse than understood when he took office.
Obama's reelection is really a very, very simple math problem.  Consider the following:
1) Blacks will vote for Obama blindly.  Period.  Doesn't matter what he does.  It's a race thing.
2) College educated women will vote for Obama.  Though they will be offended by this, they swoon at his oratory.  It's really not more complex than that,
3) Liberals will vote for Obama.  He is their great hope,
4) Democrats will vote for Obama.  He is the leader of their party and his coattails will carry them to victory nationwide,
5) Hispanics will vote for Obama.  He is the path to citizenship for those who are illegal and Hispanic leaders recognize the political clout they carry in the Democratic Party,
6) Union members will vote overwhelmingly for Obama.  He is their key to money and power in business, state and local politics,
7) Big Business will support Obama.  They already have.  He has almost $1 Billion dollars in his reelection purse gained largely from his connections with Big Business and is gaining more everyday.  Big Business loves Obama because he gives them access to taxpayer money so long as they support his social and political agenda,
8) The media love him.  They may attack the people who work for him, but they love him.  After all... to not love him would be racist,
9) Most other minorities and special interest groups will vote for him.  Oddly, the overwhelming majority of Jews and Muslims will support him because they won't vote Republican.  American Indians will support him.  Obviously homosexuals tend to vote Democratic.  And lastly,
10) Approximately half of independents will vote for Obama.  And he doesn't need anywhere near that number because he has all of the groups previously mentioned.  The President will win an overwhelming victory in 2012.
 GOD HELP US!
--  Dr. Walter E. Williams, George Mason University
Z:  If you disagree with the 10 points, please explain which one and why.   Tell me WHAT CONDITIONS DO YOU THINK COULD/WOULD LOSE 2012 for OBAMA?

Sunday Faith Blog... Easter...a Glorious Day

Quite often, I wonder why some people believe Jesus Christ was God come down to Earth to teach and model and love us, was crucified on the cross, was buried but rose again for all us........... and some do not.   Though raised in a family of dedicated Christians, I certainly had a difficult time believing all of that, particularly after I was in my twenties and just too 'intelligent' to buy into it!  Years later, while living in Paris, I joined Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) because I'd always wanted to read the Bible, whether I actually believed all of it or not, I felt it would be a good thing to do.  I had no idea that reading and studying it with others would cause 'something' to sneak up on me and open a whole new world to me, a world I wasn't even  sure I wanted, to tell you the truth.  But, as C.S. Lewis once said, I was suddenly and unwittingly in the web and wouldn't be able to escape.  Somehow, God found me in Paris.  I'll be eternally grateful.

To those of you not feeling Easter this Sunday like we Christians do, I so sincerely and prayerfully hope He finds you somewhere, too.  It doesn't have to be anywhere as glamorous as 23 Avenue George V (see image), it could be where you're sitting right now.

For all of you, I wish a Happy Easter, or Resurrection Sunday as some like to call it.........I prefer Happy Easter because it's just plain happier, it gives me pleasure to see lovely Easter things even though they're not Biblical, like colored eggs and flowers and chocolate bunnies!  Who can understand the Trinity and the Love of God and the great sacrifice for us and not want to say "Happy ...SOMETHING?"   It's a very happy day, the happiest occasion ever.

I'll be part of a group singing the song in the video below this morning....it has wonderful lyrics and builds to quite a crescendo of good music.  I hope you take the time to listen and that you enjoy this:

"Then he (the thief on the cross who confessed he deserved being killed on the cross for the life he'd led) said to Jesus (as they both were being hanged), 'Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom. And Jesus said to him, 'Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." Luke 23

He showed belief. That's all it took.

Happy Easter...have a Glorious Day

Good Friday

Tonight, called Good Friday in the Christian faith,  is a night of high solemnity in the church but it's called "good"  possibly because it ushered in a whole new and extremely "good" era hinging on the miracles of the coming Sunday, Easter, when Christ rose from the dead.   The Friday before Easter is also referred to as Holy Friday, God's Friday...and other names.    The name matters not.   What matters is that Jesus was hanged until his body was dead on the cross that day and that He went through that for us.   I'd call that good for us.

Be careful when viewing this, those of you who know THE PASSION know that this is graphic and heartbreaking.

What did He do to deserve that?  But, most importantly, what did WE do to deserve that?  Could we ever be 'good' enough to deserve His dying for us?  No.  That's why forgiveness of all our sins, ever, and our salvation, is solely based on our faith in Him, nothing more, nothing less.

Have a GOOD Friday.

Obama to Pelosi "...did you do this?" whew!

There's more about his California jaunt than my post below (which I hope you read if you haven't already)...I just read  HERE about a little exchange I found fascinating and copy/pasted below in italics.  By now, you all know that a group of people at a breakfast fundraiser sang to Obama about some things they disagree with him on...:

As the protesters sang, the pool report notes that Obama turned to Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who represents San Francisco, to ask if she was responsible for the interruption. "Nancy, did you do this?" he reportedly asked. Her look said she did not, according to the report.

Z: Obama asked Pelosi if SHE had 'done this'?  REALLY?  I'd like to have seen the 'look' which said she did not, wouldn't you?   I thought that was an astonishing question on his part. Think about it.

The woman who first addressed the president was escorted out of the room and Obama told the crowd "that was a nice song."  He quickly resumed his speech.

"That was a nice song," he said....that's a pretty amazing remark, too.   And the Democrats are appeased by their beloved and he goes on.   And there are people who think he won't win 2012?   good luck.

z

Be a Democrat.............go ahead, swallow hard and do it.

Obama's been on the West Coast....he had dinner maybe 1 mile from me tonight and they'd warned of three hour gridlock (again) but there was nobody on the streets at rush hour, it's been positively eerie.  I think everyone took it seriously when our councilman said "stay home, avoid the gridlock" and companies must have sent people home early.

Here's why I'm talking about this, I didn't mean to give you a traffic report!
At a San Francisco event two days ago, liberal protesters said to Obama:

"We'll vote for you in 2012, yes that's true. Look at the Republicans — what else can we do?"

What else can they do, indeed.  They're angry at him, they're protesting him, but "look at the Republicans.."    I think it's a little odd they'd even say "Look at the Republicans" instead of something typically loathsome and dismissive.  Are they looking at Republicans?  If so, they sounds as impressed as this Republican is..........which is not at all.

Put aside your good values, your strict constructionist constitution views, your love of our history, your hatred of socialism and hopes for a future as good as the past's been...........be a Democrat for a second and tell us ....Which Republican could you vote for and why?

I'll be very curious to hear your response.  thanks.

Atlas Shrugged...please go see it

I haven't seen ATLAS SHRUGGED yet, it came to L.A. on Friday, but I know people who have seen it and they really liked it.
Jon Stewart's already slamming it, so you know the message is feared and the word is out to kill the film in the box office though it did $1.7 million the first weekend with practically no promotion at all.

From THIS SITE:  "Atlas Shrugged pulled in $1.7 million at the box office this weekend — all by itself, without a shred of help from anyone, just to make itself happy! So self-reliant! The critically panned adaptation of Ayn Rand's 1957 objectivist bible was made for around $10 million, and producers say the film's draw, in 80 cities on around 300 screens, was "at the upper edge" of their expectations. They're hoping to expand the release to 1,000 screens."

Please see it if you can.  The message is a good one and we need to support films like this

Andrew Breitbart's new book.............

.....is full of RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION.   How many times have I said here that we should do more than just "type our little fingers off in righteous indignation on our blogs?"   Andrew is complex, controversial, and courageous;  he IS doing more than 'just typing'........Please buy the book; he can use your support, conservatism can use your support, and he's out there doing the fighting we wish we all could do.
Pray for Andrew, too, please...he's got a lot going on on all fronts of his life and still fights the good fight.....in a great way.  thanks.

Islamists and the Royals...can't the English have ONE day without threats?

Muslims are going to do their best to disrupt the royal wedding next week.  HERE is the information.

Yes, a well known extremist Muslim group has threatened to protest outside the Church and (sit down when you read this or you might fall down)  the London Assistant Commissioner Lynne Owens tells Sky News "So far we've had two request from groups wishing to protest and we're currently engaging with them to decide whether we think that's appropriate."

They are deciding whether protesting outside a wedding is appropriate? WHAT?   Here's the most amazing and utterly disingenuous quote from the article....."We find that one of the biggest advocates of British imperialism, Flight Lieutenant Prince William, wishes to enjoy an extravagant wedding ceremony, ironically at the expense of the tax-payer," the website says. (that'd be the extremist Muslim website)    Right, I'm SURE that's why the Muslims are protesting, because the wedding's extravagant!   :-)  See the cunning of these people?  Using what they hope will be language that would rile the English poor?  As IF.

Here is more:  "Meanwhile the English Defense League (EDL), a right-wing anti-Islamist group, whose past protests have been marred by violence, has also applied to stage a demonstration should MAC get the go-ahead."    Ah, a 'right-wing anti Islamist group.'   I wonder if any anti-Islamist group must be said to be 'right-wing'........They make that sound a pejorative, when ANY group of people should be anti-Islamist.  Who should support Islamist ideology in Western society?

So, this group who we're told is a 'peaceful religion' is threatening the Royals and endangering the lives of thousands of people along the parade routes, the parks, the streets........bomb sniffing dogs are at it, cops are looking into every light fixture, every manhole, every ........everything.   Because of Islamists.   On a day which England's people are looking forward to, a day for civilized celebration in jolly old England.

I saw THE KING'S SPEECH tonight on DVD........amazing how the King could walk around unescorted in those days........amazing how nobody considered he might get killed.   Today, sure, some English anarchists could cause havoc, and their media's always throwing anarchists into the equation when discussing terrorism, but does anybody believe anarchists are the real threat?

Or is it Islamists?   They live under dark and foreboding extremism, women wrapped from head to foot, angry men who will try to see to it that the English lovely times of royal excitement are marred.  IN ENGLAND.  Congratulations, Islam

And the British are thinking over whether they should allow protests at the wedding?  By Islamists?  While their cops are combing the city for potential terrorists?   WOW.

TRUMP....and the Birth Certificate's been found!!!? By the AP?

HERE is an article I found interesting......In blue italics are pieces from the article:

Republican activists in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina appear deeply intrigued by, and open to, a run by Donald Trump, the publicity-loving business tycoon and host of NBC's "The Apprentice," even as he perpetuates falsehoods about Obama's citizenship and questions the legitimacy of his presidency.

"Perpetuates falsehoods...."  Ya........show he's wrong.  HE wants to be wrong, according to him.  Yes, this birth certificate thing could all be a ploy to get attention for himself, but hasn't ONE of the journalists on Obama's side ever considered that Obama's spent nearly 2 MILLION bucks keeping his records slammed shut?  Shouldn't that be a sign of something, especially when we read the following line from the article?

Documents, including Obama's birth certificate, show he was born in Hawaii in 1961.

WOW!, right?  Then where IS it?   But, regarding Trump and his candidacy and the fact that he's never really been political and he's got a HUGE ego and we don't agree with all he says (that's for sure), there is THIS:

Several Republican activists said they don't care much about Obama's birthplace, but they're tired of waiting for the more establishment-backed challengers to challenge the president often and fiercely. For some, Trump fills that void.

BINGO.  It's a void that he's filling by CHALLENGING THE PRESIDENT OFTEN AND FIERCELY and not caring what the media says; by  telling George Stephanopoulos that George has been "co-opted by the Obama minions" when George tries to tell him the Certificate of Live Birth is just fine with the State Department.  Hey, if the AP is correct and the birth certificate WAS shown, why doesn't ol' Georgie mention that?  :-)   ...It's a void Trump's filling by telling Meredith Vieira he's proud to be a Tea Partier when she asked him about that with such disdain. That was classic.

Republicans are tired of the wimps who will probably end up being candidates, this is why so many are drawn to THE DONALD.....think what you will of Pawlenty, but who the heck would give a campaign of his money when most of the people in America have never heard of the guy and he has as much personality and charisma as wood?

And no, personality and charisma shouldn't matter but they DO.   How the heck do you think Obama got elected?

geeeeeeeeeeeez

Obama versus Bush again......such hypocrisy.......again

Many of the news outlets have carried THIS STORY for a few days and every time I see it I remember the pictures here meant to insult Bush during his campaign and presidency..........Can somebody provide information about what Democrat had to apologize for them?

This was only by Page 5 of "George W Bush monkey images" in Google....there are many more.    Ya, the linked picture is wrong; it's disrespectful and mean spirited....but, geeeez...................aren't THESE?

HAPPY PASSOVER to our Jewish friends at geeeZ and Jews all over the world.   May your celebration be meaningful and happy and may you spend it with loving friends and family.
This is also a happy time of remembrance for believers who see the roots of our faith in Christ in the Passover Seder....I always say "The New Testament without the Old is like the human body without the bones".    Amen

A Spaniard's new impression of America

This is only one guy 's opinion, but I had to blog this.   Leave it to me to meet a fellow and have the following conversation at church yesterday whose little girl goes to our preschool which had sung moments before in the service.   I'd walked out of church for a few minutes (I'll admit it was during the sermon, but I've been fighting laryngitis and needed some air and a cup of coffee from the fellowship pot waiting outside for after the service)....Anyway, I walked out and he and I and this guy's little 2 yr old boy were the only people in the courtyard and we got to talking.  He's a scientist just brought over here by UCLA to do work on some amazing things he went into some detail about.

We got to talking about the differences in Europe and the States and his adapting to life and work in America and he came up with "what's amazing is there's no similarity between what Europeans say about America and America itself...... they're so critical there and this (and he made quotes with is fingers in the air around) 'capitalist' country has given me such great opportunity and the people have been amazingly kind and helpful to me."   I suppose they laugh at the 'capitalist' part over there and he was playing on that, as if 'capitalist' is a dirty word over there where nobody would believe any good could come out of that.  He repeated this a few times so it was clear the juxtaposition of truth and criticism was remarkable to him.

I reminded him that most of what Europeans hear in Europe about America (and I know this first hand and with certitude) is from the NY Times:  critical, demeaning, insulting, etc. .(Even Europe's English-speaking Herald Tribune has been wholly owned by the NY Times for the last 11 years or so).. and he says Europeans believe that's actually news and believe it.  Don't forget, he's an academic and he admitted most of those he comes into contact with are leftwing academics and I got the impression he's not exactly conservative himself but he sure has different attitudes about America since having come here to live.     His statements (I wish I remembered more of what he said) made me feel so good and so sad at the same time.  I don't know what we can do about this situation.  I think FOX was on a few cable channels in Paris by the time we moved back to the States and that was nearly 10 years ago now, so maybe it's on more channels now....at least they'd get some balance.  The only English speaking TV they really get there is CNN International which is even more biased to the left than our CNN.

Later, driving home, I saw a billboard for the remake (wasn't the original good enough?) of the film ARTHUR....the billboard says  'ARTHUR.... MEET THE WORLD'S ONLY LOVEABLE BILLIONAIRE!'   Really?  The ONLY lovable billionaire?...suggesting no other billionaires are lovable?  WHY?  Because they (gasp!) are CAPITALISTS, have what's come to be looked at as evil:  MONEY?    SO, you see, not only is this nonsense rampant in news in America and Europe but it's even in entertainment.......subtle, beguiling, and effective.

What can be done?

Highly surprising Sunday Faith Blog

Students at a California continuation school are witnessing change on their campus -- all because of the Bible.

Buena Vista Continuation High School in Chino was formerly a magnet for harsh tensions among students where daily disruptions and fights broke out on campus. But when a small group of students introduced a Bible club two years ago, others began noticing a change. Fewer fights occurred as lives were altered by the Word.
James Na, president of the Chino Valley Unified School District, tells OneNewsNow that students have been accepting Christ on campus. "Since then, the conflicts among students have significantly decreased by maybe 90 percent," he shares. Meanwhile, the "attendance rate has risen to close to 96, 97 percent, [which is] unheard of in continuation high schools."

The club is now attended by more than ten percent of the students. and Na is pleased that the Bible is changing the lives of students and keeping them from heading down a troublesome path.
"The kids make their own choices, and if the choices they're making [are] right, and when their performances start showing that they're becoming a valuable citizen, we need to welcome that," the school district president contends. "It's changing their lives on campus; that's amazing."
Na hopes the class will continue to grow and spread to other schools in the Chino Valley Unified School District and beyond.*
"For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life."  Proverbs 6:23

Read the Scriptures to your kids.......and show them this video.

Is this our job?

Not the Obama administration is looking for a safe refuge for Khadafi..........is that something we should be doing?  Just curious as to your thoughts.  This really blew my mind:

WASHINGTON (AFP) – The Barack Obama administration has launched an intense search for a country that could provide refuge to Libyan strongman Moamer Kadhafi, The New York Times reported Saturday.
But amid looming indictments against Kadhafi by the International Criminal Court in the Hague for the atrocities committed against his own people during the ongoing popular uprising and for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am 103, US officials only have a narrow list of potential host countries.
Three officials for President Barack Obama's administration told the Times they were considering finding a country that has not signed or ratified the Rome Statute, which requires countries to turn over anyone being indicted for trial by the ICC.

So, I guess Obama doesn't think Khadfi (Qaddafi, Gadafi,...) deserves treatment for what he's done, or...??
WHAT IN THE .............????

You got any thoughts on this?  thanks.

Drones, dead soldiers and their dads..............

Do you think THIS INFORMATION is better released once all details are known?  There's been an apparent friendly fire tragedy in Afghanistan.

From the linked article:  Military officials in Afghanistan declined to provide any details, saying only that it was a friendly fire incident. "A formal investigation will determine the circumstances that led to the incident," the International Security Assistance Force said in a statement last week.   But reports from the field indicate that the Marines who were under attack mistook Smith and Rast for militants heading their way and called in a strike from a U.S. Air Force Predator, one official said.

Here is the most stunning part, this man deserves our utmost respect and sympathy:

Smith, 26, and Rast, 23, were with the 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, a reserve unit in Houston.
Smith's father, Jerry, said he didn't want to place blame for what happened.
"Whoever that young man or woman was, they didn't send that drone over there to kill my son or Doc Rast," Jerry Smith told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "If it was a royal screw up, it was a royal screw up. Make corrections because I don't want another family to have to go through this."
He said "trying to put a bigger burden on that person who fired the missile is not something I would do." "I guarantee you if he was standing in front of me, he'd be asking for forgiveness, and I would give it to him," Jerry Smith said.

That's the media's windup ("Drones kill our own kids") and here's the pitch ("they're getting more drones"  You do the math):

Under pressure from Defense Secretary Robert Gates, the Air Force has dramatically increased the number of armed and unarmed drones in the war zones over the past three years..
The Pentagon plans to add another $2.6 billion in drone targeting and surveillance equipment for the Afghan campaign this year, according to a senior intelligence official in Afghanistan. The boost is an acknowledgment of the new focus on intelligence, for a mission that previously was last in line for assets and personnel after the war in Iraq, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss matters of intelligence.

How much information given by anonymous officials needs to be told to the world?
I suppose the soldiers' parents know so it's not information that is classified...and so I suppose it can be printed for the world to see.........but I sure do wonder sometimes why we need to give so much information before all the information is in.....especially the kind of information given by anonymous officials........And what do you think of Mr. Jerry Smith?   THAT is grace, my friends........grace under REAL fire.   God bless him and his family and the family of Rast, too.

"Mr Obama, why spend money on something you don't need to?"

Obama was on with Stephanopoulos , extremely cagey and well versed in exactly how to make himself look just wonderful, unfairly maligned, etc.  And it was fairly clear the questions were not a surprise to him.

George finally asked him about the birth certificate and Obama treats this as just a silly ploy by the Right which he feels won't bode well for Republicans...that everybody knows he was born in Hawaii.   The only reason I even post this is Stephanopoulos never once said "you're spending a LOT of money keeping it under wraps...why?"    I could barely listen to the last few seconds of the interview in the linked video (watch at risks to your own health), it is so disturbing to hear the subtle, cunning words Obama uses to insult the Right and I'd taken as much as I could stand and more.....but I did want to hear if George would ask him the question about all the money spent...........and he did not.  Sad.

I'd have thought any curious media person with integrity and more than a teleprompter list of questions might have asked that, don't you?   George, you ought to be ashamed of yourself......at least ask;  answers shouldn't be that difficult.

Secrets for a Long Life, by one who should know..........

The oldest man in the world has died.   His secrets for a long life are:

• Embrace change, even when the change slaps you in the face. ("Every change is good.")
• Eat two meals a day ("That's all you need.")
• Work as long as you can ("That money's going to come in handy.")
• Help others ("The more you do for others, the better shape you're in.")

I thought they were wonderful and we all should read them....If you want to read more about Walter Bruening, click HERE.

Here's another good thing Mr. Bruening said "Everybody says your mind is the most important thing about your body. Your mind and your body. You keep both busy, and by God you'll be here a long time."

Mr. Bruening's mind DID work.  Ol' Walt was a Republican. :-)

Rest in peace, Mr. Bruening....

Do you have any secrets for a long life you'd like to share?

Sex and Dating Services

HERE  (don't bother to click, I only linked for attribution reasons, the whole article's below in italics) a fascinating scenario and one I'd like your input on;

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A California woman is suing a popular Internet dating site, saying she was sexually assaulted by a man she met on Match.com.  Attorney Mark L. Webb says he filed the Los Angeles Superior Court civil lawsuit on Wednesday on behalf of an entertainment executive identified only as Jane Doe.
The suit demands that Match.com screen its members for sexual predators. Webb says he’s asking for a temporary injunction barring the site from signing up more members until his client’s demands are met.
Webb says the woman met the alleged assailant last year at the Urth Cafe in West Hollywood. After a second date, the attorney says the man followed her home and attacked her.

Should the internet dating site be the one responsible?   Or should she?  What do you think?  Is it fair to shut the site down until they start to screen every member for predators?  And, are all predators or rapists registered? And how will the court know she wasn't going for the sex but something made her mad and she's taking it on on the site instead of the man?  No talk about taking him to court?

I wondered what you think.
